We have a morning ritual when we visit Victoria. Walking out of our condo we get on the Dallas Road Walking Path at Clover Point and walk to Ogden point. On our arrival we get coffee and breakfast at the Breakwater which is always good. The we walk home. Sometimes we go back for lunch or evening music and a drink. The view is wonderful, the food is great and accommodates for food sensitivities.
Amazing selection of local craft beers on tap and even some local cider! The menu is pure culinary artisanal, with locally sourced and wild-foraged ingredients. Pricing is higher-end, but in this case...you get what you pay for! Decor downstairs is rustic and beautiful with a view of the cruise ship terminal at Ogden Point. The only thing missing on the menu is filtered water.
We were a group of eight for dinner and were able to be seated right away. The view is great. The building layout is not amazing but we were not there for an architectural review but dinner with friends. Our group was happy with the food. It’s not fine dining but given the good value for the money it was a good experience. The restaurant was not busy when we visited which made it easy to talk. Parking is easy as they have their own free parking. They are collocated with cruise ship terminal so it’s easy to imagine traffic being crazy when a cruise ship dumps a few thousand people.
Came here for dinner with my coworkers after walking down to Ogden Point. Service started off a little slow but once we were seated, our server was very friendly. Even recommending her favourite drinks, which I ended up trying! (Was delicious!)

Went here for dinner and it took a while for them to notice that we wanted a seat. Once seated however our server was really nice. The food we ordered tasted delicious and looked just as good. I went here for the views and will be going back for the cocktails.
I helped organize a birthday party/DJ show last night, and it was a very good night for everyone! Dinner upstairs was nice, great view and my burger was a proper burger! Party downstairs was such a blast, even random cruise ship people joined us and got down to the tunes! The vibe was great, staff are awesome, and the dance floor being outside, but enclosed, added a private element, while at the same time it was nice and breezy for people dancing.
Shout-out to Elliot on staff, thanks for helping with the sound system and having such a positive attitude while I was stressing trying to get it all to work on time. Thanks for everything Breakwater!
This a great place to have dinner, coffee or desserts after a walk on Victoria s Dallas rd waterfront. Good menu selections at reasonable prices. Great nachos. Tonight we had a glass of Grafigna Malbec with chocolate tart.Mmmm. Personnel is very friendly. The view of the pier and the cruise boat terminal is very nice.
The first place I ate when I visited Victoria for the first time two years ago. Excellent scenery, fantastic ocean view patio, delightful menu options and drinks. Now that I live here it’s become one of my favourite spots!
Lovely place, feels like a dream. Drinking lavender cocktail in front of the blue ocean and snow mountain far away, it’s so unreal.
Had a crispy chicken burger and and ice coffee on the patio. Super delicious. Perfectly seasoned. Service was friendly and reasonably fast. If I could change one thing it would be to add an umbrella over our table but I could have chosen to avoid the sunburn and sat inside. Not the restaurant’s fault. Will come again.
Amazing food, great staff, the only thing I didn't like was the breakfast bowl was very sweet I did not expect it. The sunflower seeds are coated in a sweet coating. Be aware if you are on keto to not eat them wish it was more savory. Another note the coffee was good and very strong 👍
I went to a dj party there on the weekend and had a blast. There's a good size dance floor, plus a shuffle board, and a pool table. There are also benches and picnic tables outside with a view of the ocean. I didn't rate the food because I didn't eat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's a great venue for a private party. I'd definitely go back.
