My wife booked this restaurant for her birthday, from reading online reviews. When we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was located inside the hotel I had stayed with friends visiting from Australia, over 10 years ago. I didn't recall having a memorable meal there back then. However, they have certainly upped their game. The meals were just totally amazing. All four of us devoured and savoured every bite. Three of them had the clam chowder while I ordered off menu, fried calamari. The clam chowder actually had fresh clams still in their shells. It was totally divine. Their bread was so tasty, we ordered more so we could dip it in the soup. I completely polished off the huge serving of calamari. For our mains, my wife ordered the crab sampler and added a lobster tail. My parents both ordered Steak and Lobster, while I had the special of the night, Halibut. They certainly didn't skimp on the crab. I had to help my wife finish it. It too was very delicious. My parents loved their lobster tail and also loved their steak. The fact that, the month prior we celebrated my birthday at Gordon Ramsay's Steak Restaurant in Las Vegas and my parents indicated the steak they had here was better than Gordon Ramsay's, which was more hype and over priced than anything is a testament to how good the food is here. My halibut was nicely cooked. I wish there was more serving size but it goes to show I just wanted more because it was so good. We've been recommending this place to friends since we got back. The views are also beautiful. To sit back and enjoy such a wonderful meal in a great setting, gave us a truly memorable dining experience that wasn't so over priced when you consider what we paid for when we were in Vegas and that morning when we had high tea at the Empress, where both places had us feeling ripped off by the hype and decision we will not return. Whereas the Blue Crab Seafood House, is now one of our favorites to return when we visit Victoria again.

This wonderful restaurant is located at the Coast Hotel, between the Black Ball Ferry and Fisherman's Wharf. It has lovely harbor views from both the restaurant and the lounge. We ate here several times during our week long stay. The featured lunch specials were unique and delicious. The crab cakes are devine! I had a little trouble navigating the wine list because I am most familiar with wines from California and Washington, but the server helped me pair wines with my meal. No trip to the coast would be complete without Dungeness Crab. It was prepared perfectly and accompanied by everything needed to open the deliciousness inside. A special coffee and beautifully presented Creme Brulee were the perfect endings to a lovely meal.
Took the hubby there for his birthday. One of the top 5 meals we've ever had. The drinks were amazing as well. Crap cakes were spectacular and my halibut special was more than filling and seared to perfection. My hubby had the scallops. They were also great. We had excellent service and watched the boating going on into inner harbour. They also accomadated his food allergy and modified a desert for him.
