My wife booked this restaurant for her birthday, from reading online reviews. When we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was located inside the hotel I had stayed with friends visiting from Australia, over 10 years ago. I didn't recall having a memorable meal there back then. However, they have certainly upped their game. The meals were just totally amazing. All four of us devoured and savoured every bite. Three of them had the clam chowder while I ordered off menu, fried calamari. The clam chowder actually had fresh clams still in their shells. It was totally divine. Their bread was so tasty, we ordered more so we could dip it in the soup. I completely polished off the huge serving of calamari. For our mains, my wife ordered the crab sampler and added a lobster tail. My parents both ordered Steak and Lobster, while I had the special of the night, Halibut. They certainly didn't skimp on the crab. I had to help my wife finish it. It too was very delicious. My parents loved their lobster tail and also loved their steak. The fact that, the month prior we celebrated my birthday at Gordon Ramsay's Steak Restaurant in Las Vegas and my parents indicated the steak they had here was better than Gordon Ramsay's, which was more hype and over priced than anything is a testament to how good the food is here. My halibut was nicely cooked. I wish there was more serving size but it goes to show I just wanted more because it was so good. We've been recommending this place to friends since we got back. The views are also beautiful. To sit back and enjoy such a wonderful meal in a great setting, gave us a truly memorable dining experience that wasn't so over priced when you consider what we paid for when we were in Vegas and that morning when we had high tea at the Empress, where both places had us feeling ripped off by the hype and decision we will not return. Whereas the Blue Crab Seafood House, is now one of our favorites to return when we visit Victoria again.

This wonderful restaurant is located at the Coast Hotel, between the Black Ball Ferry and Fisherman's Wharf. It has lovely harbor views from both the restaurant and the lounge. We ate here several times during our week long stay. The featured lunch specials were unique and delicious. The crab cakes are devine! I had a little trouble navigating the wine list because I am most familiar with wines from California and Washington, but the server helped me pair wines with my meal. No trip to the coast would be complete without Dungeness Crab. It was prepared perfectly and accompanied by everything needed to open the deliciousness inside. A special coffee and beautifully presented Creme Brulee were the perfect endings to a lovely meal.
Took the hubby there for his birthday. One of the top 5 meals we've ever had. The drinks were amazing as well. Crap cakes were spectacular and my halibut special was more than filling and seared to perfection. My hubby had the scallops. They were also great. We had excellent service and watched the boating going on into inner harbour. They also accomadated his food allergy and modified a desert for him.
Absolutely amazing experience! Especially since my wallet slipped out of my jacket somehow and the staff were very thorough in their search and correspondance as one of their regular guests found it. Our dining experience was also top notch! Thank you for having us!
View was awesome, service the best ,very friendly, food was delicious, steak was a bit underdone but seafood was the best
Outstanding food, service and view. We had caesar salad and fish and chips.
Visiting Victoria had breakfast and it was awesome. Brioche French toast and country ham. Superb. Staff was very friendly
We had a wonderful lunch - food was excellent! What was even better was the kindness of the concierge, Kevin! He was so accommodating as he drove us the through the city - he was knowledgeable, fun and angaging! We will definitely all be back! #5seattlegirls #payingitforward
The best Chilean Cod dinner. The service was great. The view terrific
My girlfriend and I just went for our second wonderful experience at the Blue Crab, and absolutely everything from the service to the food was exceptional. Thank you so much! It's worth every penny.
Amazing service, amazing food and fabulous view
Excellent service , food was great and outlook excellent
The food that we had here was delicious. I had a wonderful cocktail made from local ingredients and alcohol and it was really good. I was expecting small portions for the price and how fancy the restaurant is ;however, all the apatizers we ordered were a good size. My drink was also a decent size. Our waiter was also really friendly and polite. I will be going back. The only downside is that is expensive but worth it.
Got a table facing the ocean. Amazing view! Watched a cruise ship come in. Seen a sea Otter in the water near by. I ordered the Halibut and it was incredibly delicious 😋 My husband had the steamed mussels and seafood soup. He loved it.
The portion of the meal wasn’t very big but the desert was good for 4 of us lol
We tried salmon, halibut, prawn and lobster, I liked the lobster the most (freshest)
Sat by window, got the sea view.

Boy, were we happy! I am from Alberta and rarely get the best fresh seafood. I called last minute asking for a reservation, and they managed to fit us right in. Ordered the Crab Cakes and Halibut, and the lady got chicken. Everything was delicious, and we couldn't have asked for a perfect final date night on the island. I'm definitely coming back next holiday. Thank you!

The atmosphere was nice, staff were great. A tad on the expensive side if you were to compare other restaurants with the same quality of food and service.
We were staying near by while on vacation in Victoria and really wanted to have a seafood dinner, after reviewing a bunch of different places we decided on blue crab, the menu looked quite good and the restaurant offered really nice views of the local harbor. We started with an order of the chowder, fresh oysters and a local Hazy IPA on tap. The chowder was quite nice and had a good broth with rich flavors, my partner enjoyed the oysters but wasn't a huge fan of the in house hot sauce. As for mains I ordered the local Dungeness crab and my partner ordered the steamer pot. The crab was fairly good the legs were a decent size, the head piece is just for show as they remove all material from the head, I enjoyed the crab but still wonder if I should have ordered the Alaskan crab legs. As for the steamer pot we found it to be sadly a bit on the average side the sauce was alright and the assortment of seafood didn't seem as fresh as other places we tried while in the area. The restaurant isn't too bad and the views are quite nice. If your staying in the area for a few days give this place a try for dinner
An amazing dining experience tonight! After 11 years of visiting this outstanding restaurant the dining and service experience is still great! The Dungeness Crab was PERFECTLY prepared and the chef's selection of seasonal offerings was superb. Kudos to our server Dava, for het attentive and thoughtful service and advice, and herknowledge of the ice wines and Ports inthe rsstaraunts cellar.
An excellent dining experience supplemented with knowledge, courtesy and attention to detail. Thank you Blue Crab for a memorable dining experience!
Service was incredible. Everyone we interacted with was super friendly, polite, and competent. We were seated immediately and our host and server both had us set up within seconds of arriving at the table. Our seats over looked the ocean and we watched ships come in while we waited for our food.
The mussels were cooked perfectly, not even slightly tough, they fell apart in the mouth. Tomato basil sauce for the mussels on point. Crab was done perfectly.
The real kicker though was they got us a shuttle to drive us back to our hotel at no charge and the guy even stopped for us at the BCL. Super friendly guy!
All in all a great experience which I'd definitely recommend.
Had dinner & breakfast here. Liked the food the seafood pasta they made it vegetarian for me . the menus are in the pictures . Quality is of the food is nice . Atmosphere is great . Comfy chairs. Nice Harbour views. Washrooms are in lobby or in your rooms . Staff great here . Note they dont have dinner open everyday during the week like Monday & Tuesday except the lounge . The green salad 🥗 had goat cheese its a great salad
My wife's birthday dinner was here. She loves her seafood and they do an amazing job of cooking and presentation as well. The only negative out of our incredible experience was the bartender who motioned us away (shoed us)before they opened the restaurant. Mike our server very friendly and service was fast too. However, this is for the real stars here and thats the cooks. Everything and I mean everything was simply amazing. A job well and truly done.
