At this point I think lattes might be old-fashioned with pour-overs and cold brews all the other next-gen coffee out there. So it’s always nice to find a place that still does the classics well!
If you are on a diet, do not look at the pastry case! I've never ever seen a more delicious looking site as I did today... Awesome.
The coffee is roasted right there in the café (not sure how often) and the aroma must be incredible on those days. I don't know if you would like the coffee any more but there's something to be said about how fresh the beans are.
You can buy roasted beans also.
The atmosphere is industrial with very high ceilings with skylights but it's more homy in the front area. Plenty of seating inside but I wish they had an outdoor patio.
I was there around 12:30 on a Friday and it was empty, I'm sorry to say. I hope business is better on other days for their sake.
Great coffee, great beans, awesome interior. My new favourite coffee shop in Victoria. Staff very friendly and helpful. My one niggle is the hours, which are difficult for my work schedule. All told, if I have the day off and need beans, or want a coffee, this is my top choice.
Has an industrial hipster feel; nice open space with exposed wood, stainless steel sheeting on bar and counter tops, ample seating room and choice. The coffee is very well made, smooth and deeply flavourful without being drowned out by sugar or marred by an acidic aftertaste. Wonderful spot
This was a really cool industrial style coffee shop. I ordered a latte and it was awesome! It has a cool vibe and is great for meetings with plenty of seating options. The staff was very friendly, too and I’m looking forward to going back.
Excellent, in-house roasted coffee. As in, literally the roaster is in the middle of the cafe with a smaller counter model for test batches - the guy is serious (but not pretentious). The roaster (I assume owner) is super friendly. If you are in the area, get a cup here.
Been her a few times, always for a London fog (get it with cinnamon, it's amazing! Not too sweet, just the way I like it) and the service is always amazing. The staff are super friendly and super quick. I can usually get in and out within 3 minutes.
"The Coffee Lab", as I affectionately call it, serves three things that set it apart:
1. Empire Donuts. These handmade beauties are contenders for the finest donuts in the city.
2. A unique experience. They have really committed to the "lab" experience from the chemistry set on the counter to the "Sampling Station". You can perform your own A-B Testing and compare how different coffees stack up against each other.
3. Great Coffee. They serve espresso drinks and pour-over style coffee that has a very rich, dark, European influenced flavour.
I hope the Lab gets hopping busy despite being in the industrial district, because I haven't seen anything like it in Victoria. (or anywhere else, for that matter.)
Endorphin is one of the best coffee lineups I've had in a while - devastated that it's no longer there. Great coffee shop, amazing lattes, just wish they would bring back endorphin!
Their coffee is European style pour over, which I find much more flavorful. I highly recommend trying their single origins. Also, they serve empire donuts--delightful!
