Review Footo Croissant - Vancouver

Whole wheat croissant from Footo Croissant is healthier right? I ❤️ croissants 🥐 as a treat. So many croissant options from plain to savoury and sweet. I do enjoy plain. “Fresh out of the oven” croissants indeed!

I just ordered a salmon Benedict Croissant (with spinach add-on) and a Turkey Pesto Croissant through door dash. Our breakfasts came on the smallest croissants I have ever seen without having a "mini" label on them. (Picture with my hand for comparison. Note that I'm a 5'4" woman with normal sized hands for my body, so I'm not a behemoth) My two star deduction comes from two things: the tiny size of the portions/amount of toppings (my Benny croissant had a single super thin slice of smokes salmon. I could barely taste it amongst the other) ingredients and the flavourless hollandaise. It needed more salt and lemon for my tastes at least. The croissants, despite their size though, were phenomenal. They had great flavour, texture and aroma and my boyfriend really liked the flavours in his turkey Pesto Croissant sandwich. I would happily get more croissants from this place and am interested in trying the Earl Grey and Almond croissants. For the money I paid, I was expecting a satiating meal, but we had to supplement it with side dishes at home. I'm pretty disappointed by that. If you're considering this place and are looking for a snack or a very light meal, it will absolutely suit your needs. If you want to leave full, give it a pass.

Had their Florentine Ham breakfast croissant. It was every bit as yummy as it looked in the pictures. Great coffee as well. Envy the people of Vancouver who seem to have great espresso available every 5 meters!! Can't wait to be back

It was bad. The almond 'croissant' was heavy, chewy, not at all flaky and lacked filling. The filing was also concentratd in the centre. It was small for the price of $5.30(incl. tax). Given Footo is slightly less expensive than Small Victory, Thierry and Angus T. I would pay the dollar more for their specialty croissants. Unfortunately Footo is was just not good on so many levels, even compared to Costco croissants.

We were on route to another place for breakfast but we were lured into this place simply because of croissants. Got the eggs Benedict and the lavender croissants French toast. Unbeatable flavours, great service and great price!

Got the Florentine croissant, ham and scrambled egg croissant, and then a blueberry lavender and a vanilla custard croissants. They were DELISH, fresh and tasty. I especially loved the vanilla custard croissant. Will be coming back!

Really good croissants. Not cheap but to put it into context especially those complaining its too small, these are NOT supermarket or starbucks croissants. They're made fresh. You're not getting something that is mass produced. The hazelnut croissant actually had hazelnuts in it rather than some powder or flavoring.

Best croissants we ever had. We ate here every morning during our stay in Vancouver. My kids and I had original, cheese, bacon, feta & spinach, almond, matcha, and vanilla custard croissants. And they ALL taste good! You can tell it's all made fresh. My kids love their banana milk smoothie. Cafe mocha and latte was also perfectly done. Most of all, the staff are very friendly and attentive. We definitely coming back!

A lovely cosy cafe in Vancouver, highly recommend! ^_^

Have ordered several dozen of the mini croissants twice now, both times delicious and a big hit amongst our guests. Even froze a few extras and were still delicious months later. Fantastic service and carry out boxes, highly recommended!

That was some really great Croissant Benedict. Very impressive and friendly staff that put up with a 3 year old running around the place.

I live many thousands of km away from this place, which is a good thing, since if I lived anywhere nearby I'd be broke and morbidly obese. The croissants are SO fresh and delicious.

Footo = fresh out of the oven. The shop is located just a short distance from the Public Library. Of course, their menu consists of croissants, which they offer in a good variety of flavours; they do also have sandwiches and breakfast items as well. I had a Turkey Pesto Croissant sandwich, Maple Bacon Croissant, and Pistachio White Chocolate Croissant. The croissants aren't the greatest that I've had (I do wish that they could provide some double-baked varieties), but are still quite enjoyable. The prices are fairly reasonable. I do think that this shop is worth visiting.

Turkey Pesto Croissant ($7.80):
4/5
This comes with your choice of either regular, whole wheat, or cheese croissant; I went with the cheese. The croissant itself was quite crisp and flakey, although I couldn't detect much of the cheese. There was a good amount of filling inside; the turkey was a tad dry but well-seasoned, and the pesto was flavourful.

Maple Bacon Croissant ($3.65):
3.5/5
This was filled with maple cream and topped with bacon. Again, the croissant was quite flaky and buttery. I did there to be a bit of a lack in filling, and I couldn't detect much maple flavour. The bacon was quite crisp and tasty, however.

Pistachio White Chocolate Croissant ($3.65):
3.5/5
This was filled with pistachio and white paste. The pistachio paste was rich with a great nutty fragrance, as well as sweetness from the chocolate. Unfortunately, a lot of it appears to have leaked out of the croissant however, and were on the exterior ends, while the interior was pretty much empty.

Summary:
Food: 3.5/5
Price: 4/5
Service: N/A
Overall: 3.5/5
Recommendations: Turkey Pesto Croissant

This review is for the matcha white chocolate croissant only. First, there is just little filling for the croissant - you can barely taste the matcha white chocolate. Second, the croissant itself is burned and hard; it's flat, dark-browned, and it's difficult to chew. The quality of a croissant from a supermarket is better than this. This is quite disappointing.

Very cute and simple looking place. Heard good things about their croissants and decided to give it a try because we were in the neighbourhood. I decided to be adventurous and got their apple cheddar croissant and a less adventurous choicr of an early gray snowball cookie. The filling was good, but was disappointed that the croissant was soft and chewy rather than being crispy and chewy. It made it seem like it wasn't too fresh - this was very disappointing because when I entered the shop it smelled like freshly baked croissants. Will give it another chance and return sometime in the future

When I took a pastry class last October, the chef instructor told us that croissants are meant to be eaten right when they come out of the oven. FOOTO Croissant is one place in Vancouver where you can eat fresh croissants made from scratch in-house daily. I ventured to FOOTO Croissant a few times recently to indulge in their delicious croissants.

Basic Cafe-cappuccino was huge and delicious, breakfast was pretty straightforward(eggs Benedict in a croissant). No wifi which was a bit of a bummer.

Good quality croissants with a range of fillings. Maybe a little overpriced for the actual size of what you get. Still, it's fresh and service was fairly efficient and friendly.

If you want croissant fresh out of the oven, then here's where you need to be. "Here?!?", you ask. Yes, here, at Fresh Out Of The Oven. Oh yes, that's what the place is called :) And as the name suggests, their croissants are sold/served fresh out of the oven. It's a small little bakery/cafe, but boy oh boy, they've got some fantastic croissants!

The first batch, on weekdays, comes out at 7:30 am. On weekends, it's at 8:30 am. If you like savoury croissants, the spinach feta is the way to go. If sweet if you're thing, then blueberry lavender or orange custard. Without a doubt. The custard could tip the scale in favor of the orange custard, but that's just personal preference. If you want croissants and are in Yaletown, this IS the place to be.

Disappointed. From their reviews I anticipated an authentic croissant. It was not good at all. The outer layer should be flaky and warm and a taste of freshness and lightness in the dough. This was not the case. I ordered 3 different croissants and they were all so-so at best.

I even saw the table behind me left a half eaten croissant behind. They ordered the breakfast croissant.

From what I can see they probably changed ownership. Their croissant just is not worth your money.

Above average but could be better. I got a plain one mostly because it's my preference but also to vet the place. The flavour was decent but it could have been more buttery and the crispiness was disappointing. Felt like it needed just a little longer in the oven or possibly it had been cooked to long ago. It didn't come close to the likes of Beaucoup or Thomas Haas.

As a place that specializes in croissants I expected more but so far it's still the best croissant I've had around Yaletown for what that's worth. I'd maybe go back if I had an intense croissant hunger that wouldn't wait for the best as this still beats most cafés or supermarkets.

Croissants done right!. Found this hidden treasure on Homer Street and was amazed. Best croissants I've ever had. No other place does fresh out of the oven like this! Must try the hazelnut and chocolate croissant. Their customer service is also very friendly! Second please!

Loved it!. We went there yesterday - walking past, had not yet had breakfast, and the smell of the croissants was wonderful. I had the pumpkin cinammon special - warm, not long out of the oven - heavenly! I will definitely be back!

Breakfast :). Croissants were pretty good but I wish the regular ones would be a bit more buttery and crispy. The maple bacon one was a bit too doughy so I won't get that again. The sandwich area needs to be a bit cleaner since things were spilling out of the sandwiches. Cute shop! cute packaging haha!

Hazelnut Chocolate. Not a hazelnut fan but I enjoyed the hazelnut chocolate croissant! The crunchy texture of the hazelnuts balances well with the airy croissant. Friendly service.

Nom Nom. Best when the croissants are fresh from the oven, so keep an eye out on the twitter or their baking schedule on their website to catch the freshest batch.

I love the white chocolate pistachio, Hazelnut, and maple bacon croissants!

Passion and Dedication. When i first read about Footo's dedication to fresh ingredients with no preservatives, i was extremely excited and looked forward to trying their famous croissants. I just flew in from another city a few weeks ago and decided to make a stop at Footo's. I tried their almond croissant and was surprised by how wonderful the taste and texture is. My almond croissant had some very unique filling inside, almost like the top part of a chinese pineapple bun, which merged perfectly with the buttery layers of the pastry.

I highly recommend anyone who loves croissants and natural ingredients. I personally love baking, and I know it is very difficult to make a delicious croissant. Footo does an excellent job in delivering it's star of the show!

Something different!. Footo is very cozy place with a variety of fresh out of the oven desserts! I had a chocolate crossaints with flaky surface and nice chewy texture inside.Next time, I am really eager to try other flavours and the frozen yogurt and other desserts!
It's near the Vancouver Public Library, so it will be great to quickly grab some healthy crossaints with natural ingredients to study with.

Healthy is what I like!. This little shop is quite different from all the other croissant shops since they focus on fresh natural ingredients that is good for you. I heard about it from a friend and I decided to head there.

I had the Turkey Pesto Croissant Sandwich with their daily soup! Pretty decent prices and the pesto sauce was just so amazing, very fresh and distinct. My favorite part of the croissants were the end bits since they are so crispy!

A wide variety of flavour combination croissants with quality ingredients

Footo Croissant doesn't have an appealing atmosphere; however, they generally serve tasty pastries. Unfortunately, I found their coffee to be inconsistent, as I would either received a weak and watered down latte or I would get a rich and strong drink. If you live in the area, then give this bakery a try. Nothing about Footo Croissant will blow your mind but it is worth a visit or two.

Will Come Back: Maybe, it depends on the time of day. I would like to come back when the croissants are coming fresh out of the oven.

Exactly what I thought, especially after reading all the reviews from others. If I am ever in the area and need a snack bite I might pop in there again, otherwise I wouldn’t purposely go there.

My croissant was still very warm so they really are fresh out of the oven. The croissant had a perfect flaky texture and tasted buttery and fresh. It was so simple but so good.

Footo Delights is a local bakery that specializes in fresh-out-of-the-oven (footo) croissants. It is owned and operated by Brenda Yip, an SFU and Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts graduate. All of the pastries and desserts are handmade daily by Brenda and she uses only the most natural ingredients such as fresh eggs, fresh milk, Himalayan crystal salt, fresh yeast...etc. The bakery is quite small and quaint but its attractive storefront definitely stands out from the neighbouring cafes and restaurants. The store hours are from 7:30am-5:00pm Mon-Fri, so you can pick up a croissant in the morning as breakfast or at night when you get off work. In addition to selling croissants, they also sell natural frozen yogurt and individual desserts.

Price-wise it is more expensive, but these ones are made with love and good ingredients. I probably wouldn't frequent this place much, but I would head back for an occasional treat. I do suggest tweeting or calling to see when croissants will be coming out that day since it seems fresh ones are the most delicious.

Footo stands for "fresh out of the oven", a phrase that conjures up memories of the warm and comforting aroma of freshly baked pastries in the kitchen. The tiny store specializes in croissants both plain and filled. According to the website, their croissants contain "no artificial flavours or colours, preservatives or any other chemical additives." The open kitchen in the back shows that they have nothing to hide. Half a dozen of the plain croissants cost $11.70 and the filled ones cost $17.10. It's a good idea to get at least 6 so that you don't have to pay tax. All of the flavours look really appealing, but I particularly like the almond with almond chips on top and sweet almond paste as filling. The croissants are displayed on one side of the counter, and other food options are displayed on the other side. The store offers stuffed croissants for a quick and convenient lunch, as well as desserts like yogurt, mousse and tiramisu cups. In my opinion, the croissants are worth a trip dow

Footo Delights specializes in croissants and everything is made in-store with no artificial ingredients. Since I was on my lunch break, I saw their Twitter saying they had the maple bacon croissant available. It’s not too far from my office, so I headed down in search of their croissant.

Inside this box is the Turkey Pesto Croissant Sandwich ($4.95 ala carte or $8.50 with soup), which has the most delicious pesto I have ever tasted! It is matched really well with the turkey, swiss, tomatoes and lettuce. Not a bad sandwich at all. The croissant was flakey on the outside with crispy ends! The inside was nice and fluffy.

I love discovering new restaurants and shops through Twitter. I was going through my followers list and thought @ modernmixvan would be interesting to follow. I was looking at their site and I saw an article about a new shop - Footo Delights, which opened up and they were having their grand opening event. Since I work close by, I thought I would check it out. Plus, who can say no to croissants? Food Delights is own and operated by Brenda, who is from the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts in Vancouver. She has a huge passion for what she does and puts her heart and soul into the products she creates. Footo Deslight is located close to Homer and Robson. They are the first croissant specialty store in Canada. It's all fresh from the oven, so you know its not sitting around for a while. They have nothing to hide from their customers. Similar to larger restaurants, this little shop has an open kitchen concept where you can watch them make the next batch of croissants. They pride themselves

I liked how everything was incorporated, but being me, I'd actually like more bacon flavor. My suggestion would be adding more depth by incorporating bacon salt either into the filling or sprinkled on top of the glaze.

Footo Delights is a cute little store run by Brenda Yip, who just recently graduated from the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts with a Diploma in Baking & Pastry Arts . She specializes in croissants and desserts made from all natural products. Each whole egg down to the grain of yeast that goes in each baked good is all fresh. Her business concept is " Fresh Out Of The Oven (Footo) " which includes croissants, pastries, handmade desserts, and natural frozen yogurt. Her hand made desserts consists of her Chocolate Mousse, Panna Cotta, Tiramisu, and Fruit Mousse. There are also croissant sandwiches, Shrimp Salad, Turkey Pesto , and Ham and Cheese . She also mentions that customers are welcome to request any other ingredient as well. Kevin , Tom , Rick , and I had the delight of getting freshly baked croissants out of the oven.
