What a amazing experience! We enjoyed the amazing wine flights and the price so worth! Our servers very friendly and nice! The wine so delicious with the greatest charcuterie board ! And the pizza also super delicious! I would recommend this place to all my friends. Will definitely come back soon!

Came here on a rainy day for a late lunch. The interior is quite fascinating with the lighting, barrels and overall decor. The food came promptly and our server was friendly! Food was absolutely delicious and perfect portions for 2 ppl. 10/10 would come back and check out their other menus!

If your looking for a restaurant that’s in the city yet tucked away.. this is the place! It’s wood-rustic vibes welcomes you with their very tall entrance doors. Tapas and food influenced by west coast lifestyle you can expect all the dishes are made fresh, local and with love + passion. I highly recommend the meatballs + cauliflower to share. Don’t expect a large selection of cocktails because they specialize in craft beer and cider with BC VQA wines! This place is great for any occasion as the ambiance is quite relaxing. Think of being in a .. high end dim light barn with delicious food and drinks. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely time, the employees were very welcoming and accommodating for a small gathering we had. Yeah food was tasty, serving sizes are light which is exactly what we were looking for. We did not partake in a lot of the spirits but could see a healthy listing and we did enjoy the wine tasting flight. I would enjoy visiting again for a casual gathering, especially when enjoying their Belgard Bacon!

Very cool place! It's our second time here, always love the wide selection of wine AND beer here. Their food is delicious too. Bonus points for having happy hour from 3-6pm on weekdays and Monday all day, I'll for sure come back!

First time going and the food was absolutely delicious. Our table had a little bit of everything. Wine flights, beer flights, a range of meals and both desserts. Everyone left full and so so happy. Our server Ben was awesome!

Very nice ambience. A plus for parking available in the area. Service is decent and food taste great! My dish was the Belgard Burger. It's savoury but yet refreshing, making it perfect for brunch. I sometimes find burgers and some food too greasy for brunch so that's a banger. The potato though seems a bit stale. Would have been a perfect dish if the potato was fresh. The beer options were decent as well. Recommend this place.

Had ramen and flatbread, oh boy it was delicious! Ramen is arguably and surprisingly one of the best in town. Noodle itself is average but the rich soup is just top notch! Flatbread is excellent too, my wife who doesn’t like pizza/flatbread still enjoyed it very much. Interior is very comfy, modern, high ceiling, and nice. Service is pretty good! Price is quite affordable. The location itself could be a bit scary as you drive thru Gastown/Chinatown, but on this particular block, it is not that bad. Also encountered some homeless people who asked for changes when I was parking on the street, but they were nice and polite. Thumb up!!

The Belgard Kitchen is a unique restaurant located at 55 Dunlevy Avenue in Vancouver, British Columbia. I don't think they have a parking lot but you can park along the street. Don't let the shady neighbourhood fool you, this place is very nice inside and definitely has a hipster vibe to it. This amazing wood-walled, old-school warehouse style restaurant specializes in small plates, creative local dishes, pizzas, beers and wines. I can pretty much guarantee they'll have something on the menu that you'll enjoy. The Belgard has three separate food menus, brunch, lunch and an evening menu. All of the menus are loaded with deliciousness. On this particular occasion I was driving so I didn't partake in their vast beer and wine selection but if you plan on indulging go onto their website and check out the lists. I did however order a non-alcoholic craft brewed Phillips Ginger Ale. I always love myself a carbonated ginger beverage, as you can probably tell from all my other reviews. For foods I started with the Tomato Soup Fondue that came with mini swiss and gruyere grilled cheeses that were perfect for dipping into the soup, super simple yet super delicious. Up next I ordered two of their Pizzettes, first up was the Heirloom Caprese with herbed cashew mozzarella, sunflower seed pesto and a white balsamic drizzle, it was surprisingly really, really tasty, it exceeded my expectations for sure. For round two on the Pizzettes I decided to try their Spicy Salsiccia with San Marzano tomatoes, gypsy salami, Postmark IPA chorizo, provolone and watercress, I friggin loved it, The Belgard is definitely underrated when it comes to their pizzas in my opinion. Lastly I saw the Wagyu Meatballs on the menu and I just couldn't resist, 100% Brant Lake Wagyu, arrabiata sauce, burrata cheese and a grilled baguette, these meatballs were legendary, when I come back I'm definitely getting them again, so saucy, so meaty and so cheesy, SO MUCH YUM! On the menu they had two very tasty sounding desserts so I told the waitress to bring them both over, there was no way I was going to be able to pick just one of them. The Chocolate Lava Cake with house raspberry ice cream was decadent and it looked absolutely gorgeous. Last but definitely not least the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie with rum toffee sauce, toasted walnut and cinnamon raisin ice cream was delivered to the table and if I'm being 100% honest I thought it was going to be kind of bland and boring but holy moly was I wrong, it was LOADED with sweet, soft, gooey goodness. Out of all the desserts I've tried at 40+ restaurants the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie was the best, don't ask me why, it just was. So in conclusion The Belgard Kitchen is a FANTASTIC restaurant with a great selection of beer and wines and AMAZING food. I highly recommend giving this place a try and I will definitely be back!

We had dinner at the Belgard Kitchen last night before the fireworks. What a great spot. The ambience was very cool with the wine barrels, beer tanks, books, and old machinery. The food was tasty, server great, and some of the beer was really good. I did a beer flight and the only one I really liked was the blonde. I wanted to love the raspberry ale but once you have had Red Racer's raspberry ale you will never find something better. I did really enjoy their blondebucha which is a combination of their blonde and Kombucha. If we weren't off to the fireworks, I would've taken a growler home of that. I will definitely be back.

Lovely place, beautiful people, helpful staff , delicious food and I love the beer and wine tasting. A must go place where I go every time in Vancouver. Love from Brasil

Had my birthday dinner there, and we shared about 10 dishes. The food was bang on, great vibe, amazing server. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Amazing food and best craft beer selection, a hidden gem

Food was all amazing, we were a group of 15 or so and probably tried at least 1/2 the menu. Fantastic. We just asked our server to choose her favourites and feed us. Great atmosphere and vintage decor. So while we weren’t feasting our mouths we could feast our eyes on the modern/vintage Vancouver warehouse decor. Added bonus was the section of vintage Vancouver pics & decor. Of course, my favourite was the Flight of wine selections. What a great way to enjoy a selection of BC’s best wines!

We had one of the best meals we've ever had. The atmosphere was perfect, all of the food was expertly prepared, and the prices were good for the exceptional quality. We hope to return again!

Where to start. ...great ambience ( love the books by the fireplace), and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was not too fast, not too slow and friendly. I had the salmon for brunch and will definitely return. Thanks to the chef for the creative flair.

The Experience was wonderful ,The staff are so happy and helpful. A very cool spot, I'll defiantly be returning.

For me I love the place, really great food (just had the salmon), the atmosphere is fun, music to my liking and the staff are friendly.

Love it here so much! My colleagues and I have been a few times now and the food and bev is always delicious. Some serious thought goes into their dishes for sure. The atmosphere is warm, and comfortable with a feeling of grandness. Love everything about the aesthetic. Don’t be fooled by the exterior - this place is absolutely stunning. If you’re a craft brewing nerd, you’ll enjoy seeing all of Postmark Brewing’s beautiful equipment. If you prefer wine, they give recommendations for pairing 😋💚🍻🤓 Last time I was in, we sat at the bar and our bartender was awesome - wish I got his name to give proper kudos. Can’t wait to go back. Thanks 🙏

A very cosy, comfy ambience with great and different food offerings apparently changing daily....non intrusive, friendly, supportive staff...a very nice experience...:-)).

We hosted a Sunday morning brunch for 30+ out-of-town guests as part of our daughter's bat mitzvah at Belgard Kitchen. It was AMAZING! Fab service and amazing food ON TIME. Yes, 30+ people fed on time. Very very happy!

Belgard Kitchen has excellent food which is meant to be shared, they have a lot of tapas and small plates on their menu. We came here for dinner, it was quite busy but were seated almost right away. We ordered the tomato soup and grilled cheese, the beet salad, and risotto. The soup and grilled cheese were delicious, a classic comfort food. Beet salad was very fresh, tasty, and plated beautifully. The risotto was also solid, but we enjoyed the first two dishes more. Prices are fair and service is good. We would recommend and come back.

Had a wonderful dinner at the belgard kitchen. Nice selection of drinks. Although menu selection is not as wide, but everything from plating, flavor and portions are good. Ordered 5 dishes to
share between 2 people and we have plenty left overs. Will definitely come back again at a later
time (the place definitely will look a lot nicer when it’s dimmed).

I've been waiting for my opportunity to go to Belgard Kitchen for a long time, and when it finally came I was so blown away. Situated in Railtown, just a couple blocks Northeast of Gastown, past the sketchy parts, and into a gem of a neighbourhood, Belgard Kitchen is in one of the most unique, yet unassuming buildings youve ever seen. Not much signage, you kind of have to know where it is before you drive by, but wow is this an awesome space inside. An old Steel Foundry, the interior is flowing with history and industrial artefacts like pulleys, wheels, barrels, giant metal things you have no idea about create an awesome atmosphere, not to mention the giant windows, giant doors, and wall of barrels. Brunch was phenomenal, the Ale Skillet was so amazing. Presentation, taste, everything was awesome. The service was also great, our server was so warm and friendly, constantly laughing, and also very observant and helpful. Amazing brunch experience, topped off by a visit to Postmark Brewing located within the same room! The tasting bar is great, and walked away with 3 bombers that I enjoyed immensely. Belgard Kitchen has made it's way onto my Go-To-Brunch list, and I am eagerly awaiting my next journey out there.

Great atmosphere, good service and good food. We had dinner there on a week night and the place is packed. We made reservation ahead of time so no waiting time for us at all. We will go back.

A hidden gem in downtown east / on the edge of Gastown... You turn a corner onto Dunleavy Avenue and are startled by another converted warehouse/ old building with (as my husband put it ) sensational windows ( he's an architect :p) ...we walked in to find an open well planned space with high ceilings ... Rustic furniture that's secretly trendy...cosy yet spacious
The Belgard kitchen came with high praise , intriguing pictures and did not disappoint!

The staff was friendly and watchful but not hovering to the point of annoyance (which I like )

It was a much awaited brunch and we walked away stuffed.

Food:

My friend had Postmark Stout Sausage Skillet$16
crispy potatoes, roasted mushrooms + tomato, poached eggs, smokey onion + parmesan cream, grilled sourdough

standard skillet with halved sausage, smashed potatoes , n the rest as described..it was well seasoned and very hearty, though she would've liked nicer bread than what came along and probably would've been happier if the dish was Atleast 2$ cheaper

I had the Salmon Gravlax Hash$16
house cured sockeye, crispy potatoes, avocado, pickled onions, arugula, beet + Postmark IPA puree, poached eggs, smokey onion + parmesan cream

This was special :) loved the salad greens , the eggs were perfectly poached and made for perfect gooey goodness to mix everything into one delicious bite !
*Special mention for the beet puree... Yummm

We also had the Belgard Bacon$10 (shared)
maple bourbon pork belly, maple caramel

One bite , specially given my state of hunger when I'd got there and I could feel my troubled soul get lighter ! Soft juicy pork belly with crunchy caramelized edges drenched in fatty maple magic...sigh
I will warn that this is an appetizer sized dish , and while I understand it's pork belly etc , 10$ for the portion size was steep. While I didn't mind it since it was sooooo tasty...others may

We ended this meal with Bread Pudding French Toast $14 (shared)
blueberry compote, bourbon anglaise, pecan streusel, chantilly cream

Oh my goodness we were happy with this! Fluffy brioche heaven smothered in the compote ,with the cream dotted around just the right spots...all sitting on the Bourbon anglaise that was just waiting for you to drag your fork full of sin through it...

Drinks:

My friend started off with an iced latte which she wished was stronger ( can't recall the price)

We also had a beer flight / tasting paddle which was around 8$ I think?
We sampled the pineapple ale , raspberry ale , the ISA ( I think) and the Saison
They were ok to be honest.. I only liked one of them... I think it was the Saison

I switched to their bubbly mimosas and stuck with it.. they're priced at 10$ again a fraction higher than expected... But it was well balanced, the oj was not to tart and pulpy, almost fresh squeezed and the bubbly just right.. enough to let you know it's there but not to make you snooze on the table..and a few pretty berries floating on top were a nice touch .

All in all a satisfying first time. I will be back for the Belgard bacon and the mimosas, not so much the beer :)

To celebrate Amy’s birthday, we had brunch at Belgard Kitchen – it was one place that we both have not been so we thought we’d make it a reason to go. Belgard Kitchen is located in the same building of Vancouver Urban Winery and Postmark Brewing, which is an awesome space in Railtown.

My first time here, I had to wait 15 mins for a hostess to acknowledge me, and they knew I was waiting. The worst part wad that they were only half full. Maybe someone in the kitchen called in sick? When my girlfriend and I got seated, they ran out of the salmon hash. I understand restaurants will have a limited supply of food, but I hate seeing my girlfriend being disappointed. So we kindly left and decided to come back next week.

We came back next week, 10:30am. Waited ten minutes again for a hostess and the restaurant was less then half full. Minus points for that, this is real bad when the whole staff just keeps looking at you and they don't even acknowledge you.
We finally got our table and ordered everything quickly. The salmon has came. We were surprised there was no dressing on the arugula... The plating in general is absolutely beautiful but it lacked a touch of wow for flavor... My flatbread railway sandwich and side of potatoes were plated very nicely, but again, I felt like I can easily make this at home...
Finally the chia seed pudding. Now this was really comforting and a great way to end our feast then soak the sun rays at the beach.

In the end I wasn't disappointed. It was a decent breakfast. My expectations were high because of all the good reviews. However, I was blown away by the space and decor they have inside their brewery. It's gorgeous.

I immediately fell in love with Belgard Kitchen's interiors. It's the perfect place to hang out with friends or bring visitors from out of town. Food was not exceptionally good but was really interesting. And then there's the wine flight that complemented the food. This is one place i will be giddy to visit again.

You know brunch is going to be amazing when you want one of every single item on the menu. Belgard Kitchen is open for all meals of the day but I went here for the first (my favorite) meal of the day. Brunch is served on the weekend only from 10am-3pm. Belgard shares its space with Postmark Brewing Company and Vancouver Urban Winery. The space is beautiful with super high ceilings and lots of barrels. Brunching here was the perfect way to start my day. I am looking forward to dining here for dinner and lunch. Telling by their brunch, everything they do here will not disappoint.

Meal: Featured wine, roasted cauliflower, sable fish, avocado humus, and C.C. Jentsh Cab/Merlot. . Atmosphere: Beautiful building, immediately impressed by the door and then equally impressed by the second door. Day light still peaking in at 6 was visible by the large windows facing the east side. Loved the decor, atmosphere, open kitchen, bar, everything!

Delicious food. Well priced for the quality of the dishes. Left wishing we could order more but definitely comfortably full after three dishes. Our favourite was the sweet potato gnocchi with the lamb Ragu.

Belgard Kitchen (酒廠附設餐廳的週末Brunch)

Weekend brunch Saturday & Sunday 10am-3pm

Postmark Ale Sausage Skillet $15 (4/5分)
Crispy potatoes, roasted mushrooms + tomato, poached eggs, smokey onion + parmesan cream, grilled sourdough

Salmon Gravlax Hash $15 (3/5分)
House cured sockeye, crispy potatoes, avocado, pickled onions, arugula芝麻菜, beet + Postmark IPA puree, poached eggs, smokey onion + parmesan cream

Veggie Brunch Burger $13.50 (2.5/5分)
House rosemary portobello patty, Village Cheese Works cheddar, caramelized onions, sunflower seed pesto aioli, alfalfa sprouts, tomato, fried egg, ciabatta, brunch spuds

Here it is! Another Vancouver restaurant which represents the hype which it is. This spot is the first place I bring people who are from out of town. For countless reasons and after countless visits, I could go on and on about, what makes this a perfect restaurant in my foodie eyes, however if not mostly because this is my hope and vision for what Vancouver dining should move towards. Location, atmosphere, good and service are all exceptional here.

Made resos for a group of 13 for brunch for my husband's birthday. Atmosphere is pretty cool. Only downside was that the table given was probably the largest they have and we felt somewhat squished during our experience. Besides that, lovely place with great food and a great selection of bevies (There is a brewery and winery attached so selection of locally brewed beer and local wines available). My favourite is the rasberry beer. Their ceasars are yummy, has a cajun kick to it and they also have beer and wine taster flights available. My husband and I started with the bacon (actually pork belly) and it was delicious..melts in your mouth. I had the salmon hash and it was a nice and light meal. Presentation was great. My husband had the meatball skillet and it tasted fab as well. Would be nice if it came with toast to soak up the yummy sauce but just paid extra for that (although the sausage skillet comes with toast). Overall a good dining experience. Would like to go back for lunch/dinner.

Love this place for brunch on the weekends. Great dishes and fairly reasonable prices. However, I came here for an early dinner on a Saturday night and was seated next to a large and extremely rowdy birthday party. The music was cranked up to the max and the whole place was incredibly noisy and hectic. The dinner prices are quite ridiculous as well, tiny portions that probably won't even suffice a toddler. The flavors were good but overall disappointing. Bottom line, don't come here for dinner, check out their brunch.

Belgard Kitchen is a restaurant situated in Railtown a few doors down from the popular Ask for Luigi in the Settlement Building . Every week, Belgard Kitchen hosts an Instagram contest and in order to win, you have to suggest a tasty dish according to the simple ingredients they challenge you to come up with. About a few months ago, I won one of their contests so I was lucky enough to come in for a complimentary lunch. The dish I suggested was smashed avocado on toast with strawberry basil vinaigrette and almond crusted goat cheese. The catch is, the winner has to come in on Wednesday during lunch in order to claim the complimentary lunch as it’s for their Wednesday ‘fresh sheet’.

Belgard Kitchen is inside the Settlement Building in the Downtown Eastside close to Ask for Luigi. My friends and I came here for brunch on the weekend to reconnect and enjoy some good food. Their brunches are on Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 3pm. The space is pretty awesome. High ceilings and tons of barrels that make the space quite unique. It’s a brewery and a winery all in one building.

Once you stack the 2 halves together, its quite large. I made sure to eat the egg yolk before putting it together as I didn't want it to get messy. The potatoes were a good touch, but I wish it was a salad instead.

Tucked away in the downtown eastside, this establishment is housed inside the Settlement building and shares spaces with Vancouver Urban Winery and Postmark Brewing. Immediately entering the large wooden doors, we were greeted instantly by the friendly staff. . The Head Chef picked out all the dishes for us to try and we enjoyed every single one of them thoroughly, wanted to lick the dishes so bad! The Head Chef Andrew came out to greet us as well and asked us if we had any food allergies and what type of appetite we brought in. Very attentive to our needs, he executed five plates: four mains and one dessert to share. When each dish came out, we were introduced thoroughly what element of the dish was.

Love the atmosphere there :) service was great and the food was good :) I definitely recommend the grilled cheese with the tomato soup and the risotto. The spaghetti was average because it was a little sour (maybe cuz they put too much lemon?) but overall food was very good!
Eating With Kirby
This little hidden gem called The Belgard Kitchen is located in the DTES area inside the Settlement Building. My friends Queen B and Hipster heard this place serves up wine flights so they really wanted to give it a try. I just tagged along for the ride. :P . It's unassuming on the outside so I would definitely recommend using Google Maps to guide you here.

It’s that time of year again! As the holidays approach and old friends return to town while others use up their end of year vacation days it seems like everybody wants to get together for dinner. Mostly I’ve been hosting at my house or invited to dinner parties at people’s houses, since everyone is trying to watch their wallets after their Christmas gift buying sprees, but there have been a few nights on the town as well. The most recent was with Dr. Esquire before she headed back home for the holidays. I left the location of our dinner up to her, and she suggested we check out Belgard Kitchen. I’d been meaning to check them out for quite some time, so I eagerly agreed.

This is my favorite brunch spot in Vancouver. Nice decor, and good music. There service is great, and the price and portion size are just right. Being in the same building as a winery and brewery means you have lots of choices for drinks. The food is just amazing. You can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorite is the sausage skillet.

Really enjoyed all the dishes we tried at Belgard. The yam gnocchi was some of the best I've ever tried. Soft and pillowy in a butter sage sauce. Simple and delicious! Tried the peach crumble and inhaled the thing! I do not recommend sharing it, you'll be sorry you did.. it's too good. Can't wait to come back for brunch!

Located in the Settlement Building.. Very nice hidden gem. It's a good place where you can just chill and relax, and have some delicious food and a few drinks with your friends. Their menu is fairly big, and we ordered the tomato fondue with grilled cheese toasties, grilled scallops, and their mushroom bacon pesto pizzette. Everything tasted delicious, and many of them were great finger food. I would definitely return to try the rest of their menu and maybe try their flights of wine too.

Delicious!! Half point deducted for slightly smaller portion but the flavour can't be beat. The Salmon Hash had a light and refreshing taste while the salmon isn't too salty like many other places. The presentation is very nice and all the ingredients go really well together. I tried my friend's meatball and it was also delicious. It's definitely a hidden gem in such a sketchy area. I will be back to try their dinner menu.
Every Day Is A Food Day
I started brunch off with a Tasting Paddle. You can choose the beers you want or have the waitress choose for you. I told her to choose some lighter beers for me. If I remember correctly, from left to right is the Lager, Pilsner, Strawberry Blonde, and West Coast Pale Ale. My favourite was the Strawberry Blonde since it had a hint of fruitiness to it. The West Coast Pale Ale was too bitter for my liking. For $8, this is a great way to try different beers.

I can’t even count the number of times I’ve been to Belgard Kitchen only to leave disappointed due to a packed house with a 1+ hour wait. I’ve only ever actually successfully made it in once after a day-long brewery crawl with Beavis and Butthead, but that was in its early days at an awkward mid-afternoon time and my memory is a little hazy. Actually I lied, I’ve been there twice, but one time was just for drinks while waiting for a table over at the near by Ask for Luigi. Regardless, on both occasions I remember it being a great little spot and have tried time and time again to return since without success. Little Bunny and I had plans to go to a comedy show hosted by a friend of mine over at The Rickshaw Theatre. Since it was within walking distance of Belgard Kitchen I thought I’d once again try my luck. After all, how busy can it really be on a Thursday at 5:30PM?

I absolutely loved this place. It brings me back to a time when creative food was just happening in a laid back atmosphere with a mixed crowd. You know where people in suits sat beside tattoo artists and everyone just enjoyed the vibe. (ie, before hipsters ruined everything)

Belgard is a great example of this. The food is just spactacular despite being simple in concept. It's just well executed and fun. And they have a great beer selection. Get here and enjoy it before the hipsters take over.

There is no doubting the venue's amazing space and style, good wines on tap and good service. The food however was disappointing . . . I ordered the featured dish, scallop & shrimp risotto. It resembled a soup rather than a risotto and was terribly bland, the shrimps were all texture and with barely any flavour. It was served on a flat dinner plate which made it difficult to serve given it's consistency. The lamb ragu was equally disappointing, the brown sage butter was diced into microscopic pieces and added little flavour. Based on the dishes I tried I stopped ordering food, finished my lovely Pinot Blanc and settled my bill.

The Belgard Kitchen is located within The Settlement Building where Vancouver Urban Winery, Roaring Twenties Wine Co and Postmark Brewing all operate out from 55 Dunlevy Ave, Vancouver. We first toured the facility with Made In Strathcona Tour. We loved the high ceilings, button tuft booths and brunch on the weekends.

LOVE IT. This has become one of my favourite places to eat in Vancouver. Upon a friend's suggestion, I came here two nights ago for my birthday dinner and was immediately captivated by the interesting decor. We decided to share the Burrata + Eggplant Caponata, Margherita Pizzette and Foraged Mushroom Risotto.

The Burrata + Eggplant Caponata easily my favourite dish of the evening. I loved the tanginess from the Eggplant Caponata and it worked perfectly to balance out the creaminess of the goat cheese and olive oil spread that came along with the toast. It was my first time trying Caponata and I immediately fell in love. However, to echo what another reviewer has already stated, my only complaint is that it was a bit on the smaller side. In comparison with the other dishes on menu, I did feel that it was a expensive for the amount of food provided and it didn't justify the cost of ingredients that was used. For this reason, although I truly loved this dish, I may not be ordering it again.

Next, we had the pizzette. It was delicious. I wouldn't suggest for anyone to order it with the expectation of getting full but if you're here to enjoy in some alcohol with some friends and wanted something to nibble on, then this is would be the perfect choice.

Lastly, the foraged mushroom risotto. It was rich, creamy and very, very filling. I liked it but felt that it was perhaps a wee bit salty.

All in all, I really enjoyed my time at Belgard Kitchen. I enjoyed it so much that I proceeded to make reservations for my own birthday brunch for the following morning. This time, I came with another friend; she ordered the Railtown Breakfast Wrap and I the Health Nut Breakfast Bowl. Once the food arrived there wasn't much talking happening because we were both too focused on stuffing our faces with delicious food. I learned that the Breakfast Bowl contains coriander so for everyone with any allergies or sensitivity towards this vile plant out there - you have been warned. Fortunately, the server was very lovely and immediately offered to remake the dish for me sans coriander.

I cannot wait for my next visit

Hey guys! It seems there is always a big hype for brunch in Vancouver, and this reaches fever pitch levels on weekends. Do the plates at Belgard Kitchen do justice for last night’s festivities or should you crawl to another brunch spot? Read on to find out. Food: Team Tastic came here for a Saturday brunch and we had the Railtown Breakfast Wrap (a fried egg, bacon, avocado, arugula, sprouts, pickled onion, hummus, flatbread + brunch spuds) and a Venison Sausage Skillet (crispy potatoes, roasted mushrooms, tomato, poached eggs, smoky onion, parmesan cream, and grilled sourdough). A side avocado was added to the skillet. The Sausage Skillet is a winner here. The venison is a little tougher than regular pork sausages but still quite savoury. The hollandaise sauce dripping over the poached eggs also made for a great sauce for dipping the soft and crispy potatoes. The tomato was a whole tomato and having it two large halves added to the nice presentation of the dish. The grilled toast was also a great dip for the poached egg. I’d skip the avocado next time; I only ordered it to add to the hype of brunch time and this dish is already so great on its own. Venison Sausage Skillet with a side of Avocado The Breakfast Wrap is a little messy to eat. There is a sunny side egg encased inside ready to explode, so while you may normally eat a wrap with your hands, you might find it easier to eat this with a knife and fork, but that defeats the purpose of having such a thick shell to hold the contents. The potatoes that come with this wrap are the same ones from the Sausage Skillet so there’s a sense of familiarity across the menu. I look more fondly on the Sausage Skillet over the messier Breakfast Wrap. Railtown Breakfast Wrap with a side of Venison Sausage Features: This is a beautiful winery with great high ceilings and very comfortable looking couches. There are a ton of knick-knacks to admire on the way to the washrooms which are quite clean. I don’t think you’d be very com

I've heard great things about Belgard's brunch - and it didn't disappoint!! Belgard is located in Railtown, a few blocks away from the heart of Gastown, near Ask for Luigi!! The Salmon Gravlax Hash $14 house cured sockeye, crispy potatoes, pickled onions, arugula, beet + Postmark IPA puree, poached eggs, smoky onion + parmesan cream was so yummy!! And the plating was really pretty too hehe! It sounded simple enough on the menu, but it totally exceeded my expectations! All the flavours worked in tandem, the house cured sockeye was brilliant, very fresh and cured perfectly!! The postmark IPA is one of their craft beers, and it worked really well with the other components of the dish. There was also a ton of argula, which tasted really fresh and added a lot of flavour. The egg

This place is such a hidden gem in the Downtown Eastside. Belgard Kitchen, Vancouver Urban Winery and Postmark Brewing can all be found rolled into one amazing space. Flights of wine, paddles of craft beer and delicious tapas await you at this super cool spot. The ambiance is great, with cool tunes playing, candles burning and loads of old brew barrels and vintage photos lining the walls. We ordered the Roasted Mushroom and Bacon Pizzette and the Tomato Soup Fondue with Grilled Cheese and both were so good. I can’t wait to go back and try their brunch. Go now - you won’t regret it!

The Belgard is the first in a cool, two-part expansion the winery is seeing—the second being a soon-to-open craft brewery, which is great considering the old adage that one can never be too rich or too thin or live in a city with too many delicious local beers. We were lucky enough to have executive chef Reuben Major drop by, Urban Wood Co. apron on, to whip us up a lunch of his kitchen’s midday offerings.

Started good...now we are not happy.. The good...great ambiance and no TV screens everywhere.
The beer, though very limited in selection, we enjoyed it.

We have had the brunch many times and the food was good at brunch though small in size.
However the dinner menu is expensive for such small tapas portions.
The flank steak was shockingly small for the price and tapas style, just meat...no sides. It was also very tough and chewy.

There is limited seating, and on the weekend the wait for tables can be very long.

The bad, very bad, is their policy of reserving many tables and asking customers to leave in order to meet reservation commitments. Our table of 4 people was in the middle of eating and ready to order more food and drinks when we were told by our waitress we had to leave soon because the whole restaurant area had a reservation.

Never before have we been told in the middle of dinner .....your time is up...you have to leave now!
Donkeykonggg87
Disappointed. To make a long story short, they originally told us our wait time was 45 minutes, and then pinned another hour and a half on top of that because they "only have one table for two in our entire restaurant". We compromised and took a spot at the bar, and were left there with no service for a solid 5 minutes. Bartender was pouring beers right in front of us, literally, and didn't have the courtesy to tilt his head up 15 degrees and say hello. The other bartender was too busy socializing with her friends, so we just got up and left.

Told the guy filling the growlers about our crappy experience and to pass it on to Manager. He said no worries and sympathized with us. Worse part is that they had our phone number (from leaving it on the waitlist), but never called us to ask what had happened/apologize.

I hope the owner gets a hold of this and figures it out. I'm disappointed from you and you've most definitely lost the support of one east sider.

I like beer. If you like beer as well, then I’m sure you are aware of the growth of craft breweries in Vancouver. I have longed for a trip to a local brewery for flights. While many of the craft breweries in Vancouver have a tasting lounge, not many serve food. Postmark Brewery is one of those that does serve food, courtesy of the Belgard Kitchen. Belgard Kitchen is located in an area that would expect to find a restaurant. Right behind Oppenheimer Park is where you would find Belgard Kitchen and if you haven’t been in that area, the businesses are mostly factories or of the illegal solicitation kind. The Food Spicy Salsiccia Pizzette – I’m not sure why I didn’t notice this when I ordered, but note that this is a “pizzette”. A small pizza. A very small pizza that is not really meant to be shared. Yes, I was disappointed at the size when the dish arrived, but it’s my fault for mis-understanding. But the Spicy Salsiccia Pizzette was a let down. I thought there wasn’t enough of the good stuff. People don’t order pizza to eat dough and pizza sauce. They want the salami, chorizo, and cheese. The good stuff . Also, the “herb salad” that was suppose to be part of the toppings for the pizzette was really just basil. Not really a salad. Seared Scallops w/ Tomato + Bacon Jam – For $16, we got 3 small scallops. The scallops was served on top a of a celery root puree, which had a mild taste and went well with the scallops and bacon jam. Personally, I really enjoyed the bacon jam as it was sweet, a little savory and had a hint of bacon. While this was a good dish, especially the bacon jam, the price and the small portion size was disappointing. These weren’t even a special variety of scallops and they still cost over $4 each! Flight of Beer – Ah, the good stuff. The tasting paddle comes with 4 beers: IPA, West Coast IPA, Pilsner and Dry Irish Stout. The beers that I enjoyed the most out of the flight was the West Coast IPA and the Dry Irish Stout. The West Coast IPA was hoppy, b

The Settlement Building on Dunlevy Street in the Railtown district east of Gastown, is home to the Vancouver Urban Winery and the Belgard Kitchen, as well as Fresh Tap, Postmark Brewing and the Roaring Twenties Wine Co. This was my first visit and I was really happy to have found a restaurant that is only a 5 minute walk away from the Firehall Arts Centre for a pre-show supper. I liked the high ceilinged, light and airy atmosphere and our server was friendly and efficient. The supper menu lists about 21 tapas or small plates, perfect for sharing. We opted to share three tapas plates between two of us and found it to be more than enough for two petite women, hungry or not. The roasted mushroom and country bacon pizette was topped with caramelized onions, white cheese and an arugula pesto. The grilled Postmark Sausage Board of charcuterie and cheese had slices of chorizo, bratwurst and Two River's cured meat, a mushroom and bacon paté, artisan cheese, a small jar of pickled vegetables and toasted bread. We also got the Burrata and eggplant caponata board, served with grilled sourdough crostinis and goat cheese coulis. Each of the three dishes was tasty and ample in size. With my meal I enjoyed a glass of the Clos de Soleil Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé from Keremeos, BC while my friend indulged in a glass of Pinot Gris. In retrospect I would probably have selected one of the salad or vegetable plates rather than three platters with bread or pizza base as our choices were somewhat carb heavy. But that means there are many options left to try on my next visit. And I will return. The play we saw at

Not bad. Very nice space with ultra high ceilings and some vintage finishings showcasing the buildings history. I had the meatball skillet which was pretty good. Four well seasoned meatballs served in a light skim of pasta sauce, cheese, and two poached eggs with a side of some squished baked potatoes. The Postmark IPA is good too!

Best Brunch in Vancouver - hands down. Bacon - $10 - the best we've ever had, in an amazing wheat free gravy
Quinoa salad - spectacular with lots of yummy morsels of stuff
Flank steak with potatoes - so tasty, done perfectly. Could have had a veggie on the plate too.

Unsure I'd come here for dinner based on the reviews re: size portion, but this is the best brunch we've had in Vancouver thus far!

Disappointment: no gluten free bread/buns

One of our favourite spots for brunch. Wonderful skillets, specially the meatball one! The setting is warehouse style, with beautiful little trinkets as decoration. We are definitely in to try a wine night beside their cozy fireplace.
Just note that their caeser is actually a michelada. Very unique and definitely worth a visit!

Tender pork belly. Smashed avocado, sourdough, olive oil, salt, pepper, micro greens $8 3/5 - Decent but nothing too exciting. Maybe it was too healthy for me. Went well for with the pork belly.

Belgard Bacon (maple bourbon, pork belly, maple caramel) $10 3.5/5 - good but I aaas expecting bacon not pork belly. The pork belly was tender and the sauce was way better. I dipped my hash into the sauce.

Salmon Gravlax Hash (House cured sockeye, crispy potatoes, pickled onions, arugula, spring pea puree, poached eggs, smoky onion, parmesan cream) $14 3/5 - It sounds more exciting on the menu. The house cured sockeye did not taste any different than those I got for the supermarket. The chimichurri sauce would go better than the spring pea puree. The pea puree was too green/fresh.

Steak and Eggs (Argentinian spice rubbed flank, chimichurri, poached eggs, smoky onion, parmesan cream, brunch spuds) $16 4/5 - tender, steak was not gamey at all. The chimichurri sauce was better than the spring pea puree.

The restaurant does not have any honey. (Very surprised)

I had a wonderful experience here. I went during lunch time. It wasn't too busy. Atmosphere was killer, large ornate fireplace with industrial brewery type feel (of course). I tried the sommelier wine tasting - delicious. Shared the Chinatown slaw which burst with flavour and I had the roasted mushroom & country bacon pizette. Also verrrrry tasty. The service was spot on and I felt it was good value for money. A definite must.

Leave a reply 55 Dunlevy Ave, Vancouver, BC Food Rating: 8.5/10 My fellow foodies and I (#yvrfoodclub) went for brunch at Belgard Kitchen to celebrate two of our birthdays (one was mine!) The restaurant was consistently busy, even as the menu transitioned from brunch to lunch. Unfortunately, they ran out of the Belgard Meatball Brunch Skillet, which was what I wanted to order, so I ended up getting the Belgard Brunch Burger instead. I love brioche buns so that was a plus! I also got to try some of the Belgard Bacon which was thick-cut and sweet from the maple caramel it was served with. Everything tasted good and I loved the interior of the restaurant! I’ll be back to try the Meatball Skillet! Belgard Bacon: maple bourbon pork belly, maple caramel Steak and Eggs with Brunch Spuds and Belgard Bacon My friend had the avocado toasts and Radicchio Salad: manchego dressing, croutons, soft boiled egg, smoked bacon Belgard Brunch Burger: Pemberton Meadows beef, Village Cheese Works cheddar, caramelized onions, house relish, iceberg, tomato, fried egg, brioche bun, brunch spuds Fried egg on a burger is one of my favourite things! Runny egg yolk!

The enormous wooden front entrance doors are something else along with the large framed windows along the exterior. The interior is such a vast space with very high ceilings, reclaimed wood throughout, big open bar, mixture of modern and eclectic pieces for seating and décor. There are large, leather booths in the back tucked away surrounded by vintage pictures of the area. I will have to keep in mind they are just down the street from Ask for Luigi , which makes it a great place to have drinks while waiting for a table. I ordered the Coconut Quinoa Porridge. This was delicious, the flavours were great and the serving size was spot on. It was quinoa in almond milk, topped with fresh fruit and almonds. I loved it! My sister ordered the Belgard Brunch Burger, which was Pemberton Meadows beef, Village Cheese Works cheddar, caramelized onions, house relish, iceberg, tomato, fried egg, brioche bun and brunch spuds. It was delicious, I stole a bite! She also commented it wasn’t greasy at all, which to us is very important. I don’t want to feel gross and sluggish after having a burger. Curtis, the birthday boy, ordered the Belgard Meatball Brunch Skillet, which was fresh mozza, San Marzano tomato sauce, poached eggs, smoky onion, parmesan cream and brunch spuds. He wolfed that down, but I stole a couple of bites before he did. The sauce was great, spicy but full of great flavours. The meatballs were juicy and flavourful. The brunch spuds were yummy! They also were seasoned very well and were great to dip in the leftover sauce. Alanna and I both had wine spr

Vancouver Urban Winery has always been a great spot for a drink, and now, thanks to the recent addition of The Belgard Kitchen , it’s the perfect destination for a meal as well. The Belgard is the first in a cool, two-part expansion the winery is seeing—the second being a soon-to-open craft brewery, which is great considering the old adage that one can never be too rich or too thin or live in a city with too many delicious local beers. The Korean Rice Bowl was an instant hit—with sriracha-laced gai lan and cabbage, edamame, kimchi, flank steak and a sunny egg, we could eat it for every meal. Chinatown Slaw with plum and ginger dressing is a crunchy, colourful nod to the neighborhood the BK lives in, and the Quinoa + Rocket salad came sprinkled with addictive candied walnuts and watermelon radish—a definite contender for “world’s prettiest

Too bad…I was really looking forward to the opening of Postmark Brewing. Their beers aren’t terrible but they don’t stand out either...

We ordered a few shared plates from The Belgard Kitchen to complement our wine tasting, and I think we did make good choices for the food-wine pairing. Rock prawn Ceviche was prepared well. But at the beginning I was more impressed by the little house made corn chips and found the ceviche a little under seasoned. Then halfway through the dish, I discovered the flavours had come out a little more. I guess if they have chosen to serve it in a dish instead of in the cool and hipster looking glass jar, the flavours would be more evenly distributed in the dish.Mediterranean Tuna Two Ways featured seared tuna and tuna confit. I did not find the quality of the tuna exceptional, and the whole dish was a little flat . The pickled artichoke heart did not save the seared tuna from tasting bland and boring. The whole dish didn’t feel very Mediterranean to me, it was crying for help from maybe a few slices of olive, a few drops of balsamic, or a bit more citrusy treatment.

Never have I ever been able to say no to a meatball so you know that when I saw the words Meatball, Brunch and Skillet together this past Sunday at Belgard Kitchen , some serious meatballin’ is going down. Yet another craft brewery and kitchen combo housed in a majestically cavernous structure on the outskirts of town , it only makes sense for Belgard to be staffed with peeps who are too cool for school, but especially too cool for you. By now, we all know that if you want to make it in Vancouver, you’ve got to at least act like you hate the people who are paying for your product and cram them into the tiniest corner possible so as to create the maximum amount of discomfort because, obviously. Good thing I’m a sucker for meaty mounds because I might actually have managed to get worked up over the fact that eating my brunch was something similar to being trapped in a box smaller than my body for an hour. Meatballs and two perfectly runny poached eggs smothered in an onion parmesan cheese sauce, a vibrant and refreshing tomato sauce, lotsa mozza – ain’t nothing gonna break my stride. Nobody’s gonna slow me down, oh no. I’ve got to keep on moving. Not even the lacklustre brunch spuds are gonna break my stride. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, all these taters need are a good ol fashioned shake of salt to kick it up a notch. And because I’m all about the pro-tips, I’m about to drop another one on ya. Order a side of sourdough to sop up your beauteous yolky tomato sauce because when you dine with Meg, no drop goes untouched. Meatballs all around, would I return? At $15 for my skillet, it’s not unfair. Service is no good but Belgard brings strong ball game to the table so I’m not saying no. I’m also not saying yes, but I will say this – keep the meatballs coming.

Featuring local craft beers and a good selection of fine, BC wines hailing from the Okanagan Valley, this place certainly does a good job of keeping the thirsty Vancouverite happy. Add to that a decent meal at the resident resto and you're pretty much set for the evening! Unlike F, I was more

I often search for new restaurants online in hopes of discovering something worth sharing. It is a gamble worth taking if it means possibly finding that which is different, that which is off the beaten path. And today the restaurant literally couldn’t be more off that path. The website didn’t say much, but its simplistic cover page was enough to lure me in. Clicking the menu I grew more excited. After a week in Mexico I was craving certain cuisines: Italian was one. Italian paired with good wine and craft beer, all three of which I failed to find at my all exclusive resort. And two of those cravings brought me here to the “Settlement Building” on the outer skirts of Gastown. It was a far drive out, one with rocky roads and dark corners. We lucked out on a free spot right out front, though there were plenty of curb side parking to be found within the area. On the outside, the Settlement building it looked somewhat like a church. White walls, large framed windows running down the length of the structure, and a large wooden doors you enter through. Tonight it was too dark and top rainy to make out what was past the barred windows, if weren’t for the well lit sign we wouldn’t know we had arrived. The Belgard Kitchen, Postmark Brewery, Vancouver Urban Winery. Three places in one: restaurant, brewery, and winery. Past the first tall and heavy set of wooden doors was another; the second, more embellished, accented in metal, with brass handles. Entering through one entrance after the other gave you the feeling of grandeur. The weight and solidness of each meant silence and reprieve from the outside world. The foyer between the two was inviting with a crisp and clean cedar smell, woodsy and raw. It matched well the rest of the restaurant to come. You can’t help but look up as your eyes are drawn towards a vaulted ceiling planked with wood, a fast spinning multi bladed fan circulated, and a circle of lighted bulbs created ambience. In all its industrial simplicity, a combined

...Belgard Kitchen offers an attractive menu featuring classic and trendy plates meant for sharing. That seems to be a trend with restaurant openings lately, having little bites of whatever is prepared first. Along with the spectacular back drop, think high ceilings and ample light streaming in, this place will surely be a hit amongst the young crowd. A staple for diners to socialize and drink some local wine, while still being able to have a solid meal. Their opening hours are 11am – 11pm and they don’t take reservations. Since they haven’t been open for that long, it’s a good idea to stop by soon before word hits and the place gets packed like a madhouse. They have a lunch menu available also, a daily selection of specials that can be found on their twitter page. They also focus on sourcing as much local ingredients as possible, noticed from the

Belgard Kitchen is located in The Settlement Building and shares the locale with Vancouver Urban Winery and Postmark Brewery – hence, the dramatic view of the large wooden casks and industrial brewery gives this place a lot of character. If you look up… way up, you’ll notice the exposed beams and the industrial metal fan that looks like it was reclaimed from a fan that was originally made for giants.
