Nice food. A quiet and cozy place. The food is not expensive, has a small variety. They have a separate lunch and dinner menu now, also has kids menu. Usually, do not need to wait long for food to arrive. Recommend it to friends.
Friendly staff, tired decor. It does not look like the decor has changed for a few decades.
The food was fairly decent. There were three of us for dinner, including SWMBO and one of our sons. He went for a relatively simple Chicken Fingers and Fries. The chicken fingers were fairly standard, and the fries were very nicely done. SWMBO had the Beef Stir Fry, again fairly standard, with lots of fresh vegetables. I chose the Uncle Joe's Burger, which was nicely done. The burger was not overdone, a common issue at many places. The crispy bacon, freshly sauteed mushrooms, good melted cheese combined for nice texture and flavour from the first bite to the last.
Im not writing this on my latest visit. The latest visit was terrible but other visits were OK.
This restaurant is located on main Street Markham, not unionville. There's on street parking on both sides of the street but there's also plenty of parking behind the building.
This is a place we've come to every year before the Markham Santa clause parade, have been for almost 8 years.
We normally get burgers and fries, kids have a pretty standard kids menu. Prices are great, food good, comes quick. It's a great combination.
Decor is dated in the main part of the restaurant, but its fine.
Last time we came was Saturday just before lunch. Decided to take advantage of the all day breakfast.
We chose the eggs Benedict. NEVER GET THE EGGS BENEDICT. It was really terrible, mushy, cold, the hollandaise sauce was not like ant I had before. We had to scrape it off and even then it was terrible. I would feel terrible not warning others!!
Mom and pop diner with great burgers! Homemade beef patties cooked on a flat top so you get those crispy edges and classic onion rings. Prices are great and portions are big considering the prices - old fashioned greasy spoon diner. There fish and chips are also popular! Haven't tried them or dinner but I'm sure we will ay some point.
Bad Service. We went the other night for the first time in a while. The staff are very friendly and in spite of my review below, the food is good for the most part, with generous portions.
Spouse ordered a hamburger and subsituted salad for the fries. The salad came first as opposed to together with the burger. A small quibble, not big deal.
Then my main course came. But not my soup, which I therefore arranged to take home.
My daughter ordered fettucine alfredo which was more of a creamy pesto sauce and not at all what she was expecting.
My son ordered nachos and although we specifically requested no onions or peppers, this request was not honoured.
I will probably be back at least one more time because I like the idea of a neighbourhood diner but really, this whole visit was disappointing as the waitress did pretty much nothing to ensure our meal was a good one.
Steak-tacular!. Awesome price for an excellent NY steak, with tasty side veggies and mashed taters, plus a lovely helping of gravy (of course i ask for an extra gravy boat). Hubby and I call ahead to make sure my 16 oz. has a nice thick side of fat, that's grilled to heavenly goodness (my heart stops beating...now it ok).

Good. Love their fries but it feels awkward in the restaurant when your a teenager.
It was a very nice restaurant to enjoy a family dinner together with. Decor and atmosphere is a nice 80s setting with a very classic menu items. Service is super friendly and prompt. It's getting 5 stars for its category/style of restaurant and experience. 4 stars for the quality of food.
Pretty good food!! Don’t be deceived by the fact that it’s Chinese owned. The food was great comfort food and the service was spot on. The portions were huge and for the amount of food you receive, I think the price is quite acceptable (you see it being pricey in the beginning until the food arrives). We had the lamb special order, which is shareable for 5 people and it was enough and I can eat quite a bit. Topped my appetite off by tasting some of my family’s food and just the right amount of fullness. My wife had the salmon and scallops and the scallops seemed a little dry and tough, but the salmon was delicious. Kids had the pasta and they loved it. Good job and awesome service!! Place did seem a bit outdated and could use an update, but it kinda matched the comfort food feel and did not take away from our experience. Parking can be a little cumbersome if you don’t come early and you would have to park in the back and walk around, which isn’t nice when raining.
Having been here for a while after I moved. Uncle Joe is always one of my Markham Main north preferrable choice.

What you can eat for $9 for two eggs + coffee breakfast...
2 eggs + choice of bacon/ham/sausages + home made potatoes + choice of toasts... + refillable coffee.
I choose bacon, there are 4 pieces of good sized bacons, and 4 half slices of brown bread with butter and jam....
It takes me times to finish the whole plate as the portion is huge !

We absolutely love this place. It’s been here for ages so the decor is a little on the darker side but it’s very well kept. The food is always hot and fresh. The customer service is always great. We have never had an issue here. They even serve liver and onions.

Another great dinner. The portion size is very good, the quality was high and the service was very nice. Overall a great visit to a hidden gem on Markham Road north of Hwy 7. Food is made fresh.
The highlight is definitely Uncle Joe's roasted whole leg of lamb dinner with all the fixings (roasted vegetables, rice, soup or salad and garlic bread!) Soooooooo good!!! If you haven't tried it yet, I would definitely recommend it.
Top quality French Onion Soup. Very tender AAA Angus Steak and Spring Lamb. Worth a try of Stew Lamb Shank and Special Curry Beef Rice. If you are Lamb lover, you should try their special Roast Lamb Leg (portion good for 4 to 6 person and must pre-order in advance when you reserve a table at least a day before).
Uncle Joe hss been in business for a long time and they are still busy because their lamb and steak are delicious. The friendly staff make sure you enjoy the meal. You should go to this restaurant if you have not been there yet. RSVP highly recommended
