Potter’s Garden has gone through quite the renovation since the last time we have visited 2 years ago but, we wondered if their food stayed just as good as a few years back. I wish things started off on a better note but we found a HAIR in our bean sprout side dish! Ewh! Not off to a great start Potter’s Garden! Then when we told them they brought out a new one but like the hair was still in the giant batch that they made in the first place so we didn’t end up eating it. Lil bun was disappointed about the potatoes because they are usually her favorite but they were bland and pale. Not a great start.
Potter’s Garden has been around for a long time. They are one of the first Korean restaurant in Burnaby that are still around. The exterior appearance of this restaurant has always been very subtle. Most people come here due to reference from friends or online reviews. Potter’s Garden is located on Kingsway near Imperial Street in Burnaby.

It has been a long while since we last visited Potter. Potter is always one of the best Korean restaurant in town! They have renovated with better seatings (however, its ventilation is bad after the renovation! It is quite smoky when many tables ordered BBQ).
We ordered some spicy wings, susuage, seafood pancake and hotpot. Highly recommend their wings! It is really yummy!
Our most recent experience was a good one. We ordered from their Cheese selection- cheese with pork belly. My favourite was the Galbitang ( beef rib) soup, oh so flavourful yet beautiful in its simplicity. The ambience is revamped so it's more modern and edgy. If you get a cheese dish make sure they turn down the heat within a couple minutes or your cheese will burn.
Since Korean food is known for spice, and sometimes you may have friends that aren't good for spice, I recommend number 60. The pork bone broth with tofu and veggies. It's absolutely delicious and they don't cheap out with chunks of potatoes to fill you.
The medium size was enough for 3 people. It comes with 2 bowls of rice and side dishes like kimchi, sweet potato, sweet seaweed, and marinated sprouts. Make sure you have a couple shots of Apple soju to start off and man, it's so comforting. Potters does traditional Korean home cooking. Our bill came out to 50 bucks after taxes. If we weren't drinking, the medium size hot pot is 31 bucks before tax. Very very reasonable.
Service does need improvement. It's lacking.
Just make sure you ask for everything you need from the beginning. When you pay your bill, go to the cashier.
I will definitely be back again. I loved my experience.
Real korean food. Feel like home. food was great and staffs were very friendly. 한국에서 먹던맛 그대로 먹을수 있는 항아리 갈비! 음식은 너무 맛있고 스텝들은 정말 친절합니다. 꼭 한번 가보세요.
I've been here a couple of times and I've been happy with my meals both times. This time I went for dinner and tried their beef short rib soup with potato noodles. I really liked this dish. It had a sweeter flavour to it, and the beef was really tender. We also tried the spicy pork and squid. We were able to ask for it to be not as spicy, which was good because I don't like things too spicy. It had a good mix of the squid, pork, and veggies. Overall, food is solid and service is pretty good. They have the buttons that you can press to get servers, which is always helpful when they get really busy. I'd definitely come back to try out more.
I've been here several times and food tends to be consistent quality. I usually order joomuluk BBQ, dumplings, seafood pancake and cold soup noodles. They have extensive menu but haven't really tried other dishes since I come here for BBQ. Personally prefer this place over Chosun bbq also in Burnaby.
My favourite Korean bbq place so far. Usually order one of the set bbq meals...which comes with variety of meats, japchae, soup, pancake, dumplings, rice, lettuce for wrapping (which I like since this is the way I was taught to eat Korean bbq from my Korean friend...disappointed that some places don't give you any lettuce at all) and of course banchan. A lot of food which is always too much for 2 people so get to pack up to take home and eat later :) lately I have been going there to eat other dishes other then Korean bbq. Really enjoy there fried chicken...the sweet & sour one (don't remember the name) was really yummy. Looking forward to going back to try other dishes next time :)
