Really love Myst! They have an extensive menu so there is something for everyone. Prices are reasonable and portions are big. They are open really late and their takeout is fast and quality is just as good as dining in.

MYST Asian Fusion Restaurant is a full-service restaurant with a comprehensive menu. Even though they label themselves as Asian Fusion, they are actually a Taiwanese restaurant. I like Myst because even when they call themselves fusion, they don’t serve anything they are not good at. For example, you will not see ramen or sushi here. Regardless of them calling themselves “fusion”, everything you see on the menu is quite authentic. Myst is located on Kingsway near Gilley Avenue, Burnaby.
Since my first post, we have tried many other dishes and brought my mom here, so I thought I would do a revisit post for other dishes we have tried.
The menu at Myst is pretty big, spanning many pages! If you’re a fan of Taiwanese/Chinese/Hong Kong style food, there is definitely something for your appetite.

Myst Asian Fusion Restaurant is located on Kingsway in between Gilley Avenue and Griffiths Ave. It is very close to K-Mix Karaoke. Parking is extremely limited.
It is a great place for dinning if you finish shopping or after watching movie at Metrotown. It has great variety of choices on their menu from noodle soup, hot pot, congee, and up till dim sum. The orders came out lightning fast.
We tried FRESH Taro Smoothie. It is only $0.25 more than the regular taro smootie. We also tried Matcha Ice Cream Smootie added glass jelly. If you don't know what to pick, you can even customize your own drink.
Highly recommend their smoothie/specialty drinks and their soup noodle. Yummy!

So I went to go see my friends from high school the other day (that's them in the pic.) Wait...how is this news? Cause yours truly over here hasn't seen any of her high school friends since 2013, having deleted all of them off of facebook post-grad (I'm ruthless I know.) Well more like, I didn't want to deal with any residual high school drama so I simply cut ties with everyone.

If your looking for a bubble tea place with good value and good food, myst has been by far the best I've seen so far. This location back in the days use to be, "lesters." A family friendly arcade centre. I've spent quite a few quarters and loonies here playing my favourite games.
The renos are done very nicely. It's brightly lit up with a comfortable environment. There's alot of room here and if your familiar with how much this space has, the kitchen area is incredibly huge. The cooks in the back are lucky to have so much space.
To the food! They have a seafood laksa on the menu and I ordered it with vermecilli noodles. It was absolutely delicious. I was so blown away by how a bubble tea place nailed a laksa down, seriously. Sweet, salty, creamy, savoury. The broth packed a punch of flavour. Best of all, they loaded this bowl up with a generous amount of seafood. Btw, if your not a seafood person you have the option to have chicken or vegetarian.
My girlfriend ordered the Taiwanese beef noodle (not soup noodles) with pickled cabbage. She loves spice and she told me that this dish has a good heat, very balanced. They also gave a generous amount of meat.
This place was so good we returned 3 times in a span of 2 weeks. I thought I'd try something different. I got the hainese chicken combo dinner and man, that chicken is prepped really decent. Again, blown away.
Another day I tried their myst beef noodle soup. That was incredible. The broth was very clean and savoury. I get really annoyed when a Taiwanese broth is oily, but the beef broth on this bowl was so good.
This place does get really busy. I really recommend reservations. Parking fills up quickly as well. But their turn overs on tables are pretty quick. Each time the hostess told us it would be a 30 min wait, we only waited 5-10 mins at the most. As for the service, it's going to be a hit or miss. The score was almost a home run except for this element. The times we went, the service is a touch inconsistent. However, the service team is friendly and we haven't encountered a uncomfortable moment.
"the one" bubble tea house down a few blocks now has competition. I would recommend myst to anyone.
Yum! I highly recommend you make resos if you're going during peak meal times. We came on a Wednesday for dinner and thank God we called in first. They said they were full but put us on the waitlist. They were packed when we got there, tons of people waiting at the door. We were sat within less than 10 mins and I have to say - this place has the best Asian customer service I think I've ever experienced at a Taiwanese restaurant. The food came out surprisingly fast for how busy it was. Beautiful modern decor with giant screens and lots of booth tables! Highly recommend!!!

Hands down the best Chinese/ Taiwanese late night go-to.
Pros: 1. Widest range of dishes I've seen so far. 2. Most of the dishes I've tried are actually authentic, including desserts!!
3. Super friendly price!
4. All staffs are super friendly and the dishes was served quickly!
5. Spacious dine in environment with huge TV.
Cons: 1. Parking lot is tight and single-directional, yet street parking is accessible.
*Probably just 10% of the dishes are vegan/vegetarian friendly just by observation.
A nostalgic spot for Taiwanese food. They have a really, really extensive menu so it was hard to choose what to get. You press the button for service and the servers are quite quick. The food also came out very promptly. We got a few dishes to share. My favorite was the popcorn chicken. Truly fried and seasoned to perfection. The beef noodle soup and fried rice were both very delicious as well. The seafood laksa wasn’t very great - the one at deer garden is better. It tasted a little pasty at Myst.
This place is amazingly good. Reminds me of a bubble tea place but slightly elevated. They have a variety of dishes to choose from and their menu can be a bit overwhelming. They do have chef’s recommendation menu and have a look around to see what others are ordering if you aren’t sure what to get. Best to break down what you want ei 1 carb/1 meat/ 1 veg dish etc. The fried rice and the beef broccoli was a bit bland for our tasting.

It's great to have so much to choose from the menu, it's almost overwhelming... but so far food has been great. only done take out here, but everything has been very fresh and impressive!!!
Went on a weekday evening with a group without a reservation. The wait was approximately 15-20 minutes and they host gave us a menu to view while we waited. Once seated, the staff gave us time to peruse the menu and order when we were ready. Ordered the Taiwanese rice bowl with pork and chicken and stir fried house noodles with beef. Both dishes arrived relatively quickly and were well-prepared. The flavour of the rice bowl was great. Very savoury and filling. Split between two people, there were leftovers.
Staff were accommodating in splitting the bill and did not rush us to leave. It is a bit pricier than the standard Chinese fusion restaurant, but would recommend a visit when your party has a wide variety of tastes. The menu is extremely varied and serves many different flavours.
