This is an amazing little place if you love coffee and books. Budget some time to explore…the hundreds of books on a range of topics. No rush for those laptop hobos…loitering is encouraged. Great coffee too!
Delicious coffee and baked goods. SO MANY BOOKS! Don't let the small entry fool you. Beyond that, there were rooms filled to the ceiling with books. I could have spent the entire weekend there.
We have tried other coffee shops but this is the one we end up back to. We like the atmosphere, the people we have met there are great. We really enjoy the coffee, food, and staff. The book selection is fantastic and prices are very fare. Just a great place to spend a couple of hours and relax.

A really charming and unique bookshop tucked away in the heart of James Bay. The coffee shop has great coffee and snacks, and the fellow managing the bookshop is very knowledgeable and helpful.
I've been in Victoria over 30 years and the owner is fantastic-really he is a connoisseur of books- a sommelier of literature. His store is enchanting and he is knowledgeable and helpful. Don't miss this gem of a coffee shop.
This was a really cool spot! we just stopped in for a coffee however it's really cool how it's connected to the bookstore. It has a very homey feel and everyone seemed so comfortable there. The coffee's we ordered were done super fast and made with care. The staff was super friendly as well.
I need to find a good coffee shop to call a place home and I was about ready to move after stumbling on this gem in the first half hour of my Victoria visit. The staff was helpful and friendly. The books were unique. The atmosphere was homey. The coffee and food was delicious! This is a great local nook.
Dropped by this seemingly antiquated spot on Saturday morning for a planned quick coffee, and stayed for the next hour reviewing their diverse collection of old books, records, and miscellaneous art and rather vintage interesting items. Barista on duty provided an excellent service and the local coffee was decent. There are certainly not many places with this sort of character left. Would recommend,

Great bagels and Unique Atmosphere.
Truly distinct coffee shop that stands out from the regular Starbucks and Timmie's. The people working here truly want to give you the best hospitality service. They do not see you as a transaction, instead they see you as a potential friend. If you're visiting Victoria this place is a must!
