One word - Awesome !!! When in Victoria it's a must for great food and great staff ! The owner Frankie is great and so attentive to your experience. I just can't say enough. It's my go to place when in Victoria !
Well done Frankie , well done ! ๐
Frankies has great food, great service and great prices! And the best beer on tap always served cold. Its the place to be!
Frankie's is definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Victoria.
A good variety of food for all tastes, and great desserts!
Recommended!
Affordable diner food. Great for an inexpensive option, especially for breakfast for under $10. Not huge serving sizes, but it does the trick!
Nothing fussy or fancy about it - no showcasing the local, organic, community-connected cuisine of Victoria. Just your typical average diner meal - no complaints really because it's still decent food and prices are reasonable. Location is smack in the middle of Government Street and setting is nice and modern with ample seating. Seems to be very busy with tourists. Owner moved Frankie's down to Vic from Nanaimo where it was very successful to be closer to family. He used to own the Moxieโs restaurants in Victoria so he's very popular, walking around checking on everyone and chatting with locals.
Went here as it was close to the Parliament and the museum (which my class was visiting). We were served right away with excellent staff (the waiter I had was friendly and easy to talk to). The food came quite fast and tasted wonderful. The ambiance was good for a diner. Would recommend to come here.

โ Diner Fries (It's a big portion)

My friend ordered:
โ Momma's Tomato Soup
I visited this diner for breakfast. Had their Irish Coffee which was good to start with. Then ordered their Benedict's Eggs. The waiter recommended medium poached and I must agree it was good. Bit expensive for the breakfast but it was less crowded and calm.
The food and service was all right. The menu is what you would expect from a diner, nothing fancy. If i was in the area looking for a diner, I'd go back.
Diner lamb dip...what can I say! I far prefer lamb to a roast beef dip. Tender lamb, great bun and beautiful au jus. Great choice of sides, loved the apple fennel slaw with it. Comfortably decorated with friendly, attentive staff. Good value for fresh made food.
Traditionally Modern Food

If Google allowed me to give more than a 5-star rating, I would have done so.
The staffs are friendly, the food is good, and the ambiance is nice.
Our waiter was extremely friendly and clarified our doubts about the portion size. After ordering the food, we inquired about nearby shoe shops, and she guided us to the route.
Appetizer arrived quickly as told, and each time food was served, the staff cautioned us about the hot bowls. When our waiter came to inquire about the food, I thanked her for suggesting a shoe shop, and I mentioned that my husband had gone to buy shoes. She even offered to keep his portion in the kitchen to keep it hot until he returned.
We ordered a kid's meal for one child, and for the other kid, we shared food. When bringing the dessert for the kid's meal, the waiter even offered to bring dessert for my son, making him extremely happy. It's the best way to treat customers.
The onion rings were the best, and my daughter enjoyed her Mac and cheese. The vegetable lasagna and soup tasted good with seasoning.
While leaving, we needed to refill the water. We saw another waiter and asked if she could bring us water. Without saying 'I am not your waiter,' she not only brought water but also filled it herself. If I am visiting Victoria again, I will definitely revisit this restaurant for the food and the excellent customer service
12/23: The waitress was very nice. The food was good. I ordered a mimosa & the veggie lasagna. I had to try the key lime pie. It was good. Definitely would recommend Frankie's Modern Diner if you're ever in Victoria.
Absolutely loved our meal here. The atmosphere and decor were great. The service was excellent. Great selection of food, it took quite a while to decide what to have. But I always knew Iโd be having the key lime pie after seeing it on display in the massive fridge at the entrance. In the end I went for the curried penne as it sounded so unusual. I was not disappointed with either option, both were delicious. Iโd love to come back if Iโm ever in Victoria again.
Great food, and quick friendly service. The Lamb dip was absolutely amazing! The Caesar has tons of Parmesan and the tomato soup was very tasty. The Cheesecake and Key Lime Pie were very rich and delicious.
The place was packed, but the wait wasn't long (wait! It's worth it) the food was flavor packed and delicious. Everything was great, but the real standout? Our server! Laeya is badass! I watched her take drink and food orders for a table of 10 without writing anything down!!! And it was all correct! It's super cool to go in to a busy place and watch the dance that happens in a smoothly run restaurant. Eat here!
Everyone had a great lunch. Food was great, service was fast and friendly, and the holiday vibes were fun. Great prices too. Will definitely be returning.
Exceptional food and service.
We are impressed by the server that asked if we had any food allergies. It's a step in service that more establishments should add . My husband had the steak and eggs, steak was cooked perfectly and I had the breakfast garden wrap and it was amazing
What a great recommendation! We had plans to go for breakfast at another place and a friend recommended this one last minute and we were so happy she did. The service was incredible! They were so helpful and understanding, as we have a hyperactive toddler and they were just lovely to him. The food was delicious, the atmosphere like a Chicago Style dinner. If you are in Victoria looking for a place to eat breakfast I would definitely recommend this place. Located just minutes away from the Fairmont. They also have a nice patio.
Nice, casual, relaxing date atmosphere. Went there on a Monday afternoon and it was quiet & relaxing. Waitress was wonderful, I asked to be seated by the window because it was a beautiful day out and she kindly accommodated.
We ordered...
-calamari (4/5 was a little lacking in flavor, but great portion)
-prawn skillet from the appetizer menu (5/5 for sure, so flavorful it was my favorite)
-and I think I had the seafood linguine (4/5 definitely a lot of pasta compared to the amount of seafood actually given, flavor was a little lacking but still good)
Definitely walked away full with leftovers, so it's worth it :)
Wow this was a great mealโฃ๏ธ it was Salmon dish with rice ๐ ๐ well portioned with all the ingredients and sauce โค๏ธ service with a smile ๐ friendly ๐ฅ definitely a good option for a meal.
