Mom and I went to the market (she's visiting from the mainland) and decided to try some chicken pot pies (she loves them and it's her birthday). Normally, I'm not a huge fan of chicken pot pie but these were PHENOMENAL. My mom says it was the best chicken pot pie she's ever had and it's definitely a new favorite of mine. The staff was also super friendly. 100% would have again.
Absolutely the best pie crust I have ever had. We ate here our first day in Victoria, and went back almost every day of our trip, plus brought some home. The Italian veggie hand pie is incredible, and the mushroom gruyere cream pot pie was decadent. Hubby loved the chicken pot pie, and of course the apple hand pies are fantastic. Best food of our whole vacation!!!
Our family absolutely loves this pie shack. It has a cool behind the counter kitchen view from both, above and from the front.
There is a great selection of savory and sweet pie which makes it hard to just pick one or two pies.
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their product. They offer a cooked ready to eat product and a take and bake with instructions for the non culinary type people.
We will travel with our cooler from North Island just to fill it up with pies for home style cooking.
Our first visit with Victoria pie was a good one. The staff was very helpful and pleasant and the strawberry rhubarb pie was delicious. I plan on going back to arrange to take some frozen pies home with us. Nothing like this at home.

The pies I tried during my weekend there were Steak & vegetables, chicken pot pie, and an apple hand pie. So delicious!
nice pie shop inside a community market place. hearty, easy to eat savoury pie. We had steak mushroom pie and usually when i have steak pie, i don’t like chunky pieces of meat. But here, the meat is shredded and so soft that you can pull them apart with a fork.
Next time I will come earlier to buy the Moroccan and chickpea pie - they were sold out! Bought a Moroccan pasty instead - it was delicious. Great service.
The banana cream is making my mouth water thinking about it almost a week later. The chicken and steak pies were excellent too. The apple hand pie was a little lemon-forward for our taste, but all in all I would concur with the shop's "Victoria's best pie" reputation.

Good selection of handmade sweet and savory pies. My favourite thing to get from this place is their “hand pies”. A perfect individual sized pie reminiscent of a Cornish pastie, packed with delicious filling. Good lunch option if you fancy something a little bit different.
I’m English and we are the home of pies! (Dates back to the 14th century)… anyway!! I have been so disappointed by comfort food since moving to Canada …. Until I discovered this place today!!! The pies are incredible, and the pastry has flavour!! My baby girl devoured the apple “hand pie” (I may have helped a bit)… ;)
Anyway! 5 star rating! Will definitely be back!!
My only concern is why do you call it a “hand-pie”… in my opinion it should be a “pasty”… that’s the way 😉
