The spouse said “It’s a power move for a breakfast place to open at 11am, but we must respect that.” 8-) The descriptions were too tempting not to go, though, and for vacationing brunchers the timing was not a problem.
The just made waffles with generous amounts of toppings and lovely fresh fruit toppings were scrumptious. You might not want to order entirely separate waffle(s) for your child(ren), if you are watching your own waistline. 8-)
Tasty waffles. Odd that it opens at 11am as waffles seem like breakfast food. The food is great, the vibe is family friendly and kids loved it though!
My husband, son and I, ate at WestCoast Waffles and were delighted with the waffles. Hubby ordered The Canadian, and was pleased that it wasn't too sweet, it had generous portions of fresh strawberries and real whipped cream and the hint of cinnamon and real maple syrup were the perfect match. I had a 'pick your own combination' of bananas, fresh blueberries, generous helpings of real whipped cream and real maple syrup and it was delicious. My son had a sweet choice of the Oreo Waffle, complete with crumbled Oreo cookies, chocolate syrup and whipped cream. The waffles were made fresh to order and were light and not too sweet and the servings of toppings were fresh and generous. The service was also friendly, and efficient. We stopped for a quick bite at this little restaurant and couldn't stop raving about how fresh and tasty it was. Next time, I will go for one of the savoury options. Overall, a great option for breakfast, lunch or tea time in downtown Victoria.
Absolutely best tasting waffle I have ever had. The toppings were so fresh and generous amounts. I ordered waffle topped with banana, strawberries, coconut whipped cream, and Saskatoon syrup. It was delicious.
I don’t understand why people are not lined up out the door. I ate waffles at other places and they fell flat on flavors, this Chef has a real good recipe.
First time visit. Tried the vegetarian options as it was closer to lunch time.
The "Mexican waffle" was great and will highly recommend it. Try it with scrambled eggs.
The vegetarian was decent, but not much too rave about.
I had such a lovely visit to West Coast Waffles. The waffle that the lovely staff member, I believe her name was Vesper.., was so delicious! The first one is a sunrise waffle which has chorizo sauce on it. Very delicious and filling for breakfast. And the second one was a banana waffle which was just perfect for dessert! Will visit again!
West Coast Waffles is an inexpensive stop for breakfast. The music is nothing too loud and there is a good selection on the menu. It could be cleaner but the price is right.
Serving staff are friendly and helpful. The washroom is moderately accessible.
The place itself feels a bit grungy, but if you have dietary restrictions and are craving waffles, this is the place to go. Barely could tell my waffle was gluten and dairy free. Love their coconut milk whipped cream!
Fantastic waffles for a late night treat. The place could be cleaned and fixed up a bit, but let's be honest you're not there for the atmosphere.
Delicious waffles! I had a great time enjoying my breakfast of peanut butter waffles. The size of the waffle is the perfect portion to fill you up for a meal. They a variety of flavors ranging from a surgery delight to a savory lunch. They even offer gluten free batter made waffles. All in all, fun little place for a delightful meal.
