Bart's Bar was the first dinner venue for us during a recent stay in Victoria. We walked from our hotel, and when stepping inside and finding it so warm & welcoming, just knew we had found 'the' place we were seeking that evening!
The food, drink, and service ('Dean' ... you were a winner!!) sure did their thing on us - we left "pleased, full, and glowing" from the experience!!
What we (threesome) had and enjoyed:
- the drink: for Mom, it was water w/lemon -- for daughter and I, sleeves of Bart's Lager .... it was cool, clean, and crisp, and perfect for the time and our moods.
- the food: for Mom, it was the meatloaf (a 'stack' - thick piece of meatloaf, on top of a bed of potatoes and veggies) -- for daughter it was the smoked meat sandwich (w/fries, and a side of cole slaw), and for me, the shepherds pie (w/salad, and wow, what a great salad it was - two kinds of lettuce (no iceberg!!), plus, halved yellow and red cherry tomatoes, and with my choice of the balsamic vinegar dressing, a big yum).
Daughter took some of her huge sandwich back to the hotel, otherwise, all plates & glasses were totally cleaned!!
A much-enjoyed dining experience --- cool drinks, much-enjoyed, well-prepared food, and great service -- sure enjoyed Bart's!!!
Best pub in Victoria. Absolutely the best chicken wings in the city. Blue moon wings which are a mix of blue cheese and hot sauce, which is coated on the wings are unbelievable. Staff is friendly and take pride in their jobs.

Service = awesome. Food = awesome. And it's got so much character to it! Love it!
Best chicken wings!. Their salt and peppered chicken wings are my favorite. Nice chill place this is not full of frat kids, good music, good drinks, good staff, and good food.

Marginal thumbs up for lunch, much bigger thumbs up for evening drinks and oysters.
We had a great visit here! We came in on a Friday night and though they were pretty busy we were seated quickly. The service was excellent and the food very good! We got an order of their gluten free fish n chips, which were really good, and an order of their crispy ribs, which were amazing! All washed down with some Guinness, ciders and a Lady Diana for good measure. Our waitress was super friendly and very attentive. We’ll definitely return!
We came in for lunch and honestly, had a great time with delicious food and drinks! The server was super friendly and the drinks/food came out super quick. The serving sizes were huge, so just make sure to order accordingly, but the food was great. We would recommend the fish and chips or the tuna bowl. Would highly recommend you give it a try!
Had lunch here with some friends while exploring downtown Victoria and had a great experience. Kenzie was our host and server and he was warm, welcoming and professional. Our food was served quickly and we all enjoyed our meals. My dip sandwich was spot on as was the soup and my friend said the fish and chips were very good. The location is perfect for when you are downtown. Do recommend.
Loved the atmosphere, nice and cozy! Great service and food too. Had great menu options with decent prices. Will return to enjoy their happy hour next time!
We had a large group who were arriving at different times. The service staff were fantastic in securing us a cozy large table we could use as we waited for the others. Everyone was friendly, helpful and patient with our multi-generational group. Awesome, fun atmosphere. Fries were hot, crispy and yummy. The salmon burger is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!
Bart's as it is affectionately known by locals has all of that old world charm with the classic wood interior and British pub feel. Step on to the patio and you are transported to a lovely little oasis. The fountain drowns out most of the street noise and on a hot sunny day it's a lovely place to laze the day away. We tend to go to Bart's for happy hour specifically for the gin and tonics which are AWESOME. There are 4 standard options as well as a build your own which is really cool. The food is good. Nothing amazing by my standards. It fulfills it's purpose.
Went by there for a first date. Friendly staff and always open to chat. Good drinks and good food. I highly recommend this place. I have been here many times and it never fails to disappoint. They have fun packed evenings and a great happy hour selection. If you're in town, this is a great place to go. It is also right downtown within walking distance to everything.

My 2nd time to Barts. Love this place! It’s a proper old school pub with some nice upgrades — great beer selection, great kitchen. Calamari is really good. Nitro Naughty Hildegard on tap! So yummy. I’ll be back.
Delicious food, good service (but forgot to bring us our bill), and nice atmosphere but a little noisy when Karaoke 🎤 starts.
What a great place to grab a beer, watch some sports and eat some good grub. The waitress were friendly even though they looked incredibly but they didn’t miss a chance to check on you. I really like the happy hour menu. Got to go check it out for yourself!
