Excellent neighbourhood cafè. Wholesome traditional breakfasts and generous smiles
Sed. Neighbourhood family restaurants that serve good, fresh, home cooked meals at a reasonable price are increasingly rare. This is one such place. Both Chinese and western dishes, generously proportioned, tasty, and good value for money. A friendly, neighbourhood atmosphere too.
Many years ago, Chinese-Canadian cafes could be found in every neighbourhood in Vancouver. They would serve basic "western" food like burgers and sandwiches and breakfast all day, along with a few westernized Chinese dishes. As people's palates grew more sophisticated with the growth of "authentic" Chinese fare, these restaurants slowly died off as their original proprietors retired. The Cosy Inn Cafe is a throwback to those halcyon days, offering comfort food at good prices. Without great expectations, we enjoyed our meal and would return for more.
