Went for lunch here this afternoon with some coworkers. Were seated right away and had waters immediately. It's very rare that I will ever order a or eat a burger because they're just not what I usually like. But my coworker raved about how these were the best burgers. Oh, was he ever right. It was seriously the best burger I have ever eaten. If you're a burger person, this is definitely a place to head to.
Simply great. Great bar, great food, great music!!! Not like anything else i've experienced on Granville street. Dinner consisted of duck croquettes and chicken potpie washed down with two tasty pints of Murphy's which is seriously hard to fain in Vancouver. The only thing I might change is the lack of a sign out front. Kinda hard to find, but all in all, well worth the journey.
The Possibility of an Island... in Downtown Vancouver?. An ultra-relaxed modern tavern in downtown Vancouver... hooray!
Directly beside the entranceway to The Commodore Ballroom, The Bottleneck offers a welcome relief from that delirious downtown street. Inside, the decor is sort of modern Partridge Family: thickset wood bar, exposed brick walls, large social tables, and cozy nooks that are perfect for twosies. There's a great selection of beer on tap and the drink-list features signature cocktails you wont find anywhere else (try The Velvet Underground - you'll thank me later). The dinner & late night menu is West Coast style, with an assortment of eclectic comfort foods in small, medium and large portions (all sized extra-large in deliciousness). The halibut I ordered was seasoned beautifully atop a tower of blood orange-infused beluga lentils. Holy Dinah! Service is warm, witty and quick. Good times here!
