I stopped by this shop for lunch this Monday. The place is more suited for takeout and is very small, and can only seat a handful of people. Fortunately, it was not very busy when I arrived, and I was able to get a seat (it did fill up not long after). Being literally the only person I know who doesn't like sushi, I got their Chicken Curry Bowl. It was quite tasty, and the portion was fairly good for the price: being a large eater, I was still a bit hungry afterwards, but I think that it should be sufficient to satisfy a regular person. If you're looking for a tasty, affordable lunch, I'd highly recommend checking this place out; I actually tried returning the following day, but unfortuantely they're closed on Tuesdays (I should have read the hours that were posted at the front of their restaurant, darn!)
Chicken Curry Bowl ($8):
3.5/5
The chicken here was similar to that of teriyaki chicken, only with Japanese-style curry instead of teriyaki. There was a pretty decent amount of chicken present, which was very tender, juicy and flavourful. The curry was fragrant, mildly sweet with a slight bit of heat, and served as a great sauce for the rice. Unfortunately, I did not care too much for the rice; it was sticky and clumped in some sections. Nevertheless, the dish was still quite tasty, and the portion was fairly generous for the price.
Excellent food! The go to items here are the teriyaki bowls and the Nabeyaki udon which is only available on weekends. Excellent value you get two tempura prawns in the nabeyakinudon.
If you like dessert try the coffee jelly, owner says it’s imported from Japan
Delicious rice bowls and sushi made to order. Had the beef sukiyaki rice bowl today and it was delicious. The Japanese lady is very friendly as well.
The Teri Bowl is my go to comfort food stop, It is one of the few authentic Japanese restaurants in Vancouver. It offers great quality and value , the Japanese couple who operate it are efficient and friendly. Its definitely worth a try btw, don't tell too many.
I found this place just wandering around kits. It is right by my place so I thought I would try it out! Don't let the curb appeal of the place turn you away. This place has great food for a great price and is my go to for a quick bite. I love supporting small businesses like this one. So if your nearby check out this little Japanese place :)
It's always a pleasure and very rare to find authentic Japanese food in Vancouver. This is a great casual Japanese restaurant run by a lovely older Japanese couple - they have excellent tasting Teriyaki Bowls and also great combinations meals that included miso soup - highly recommended - our whole family loves it
I found this place just a week after it opened, and it has become my new go-to sushi place in kits. Tony and Miyuko are great and i feel like they actually want me there, unlike many sushi places i have attended. The dishes are cheap, but are of near top quality, and if you cant find your favourite roll on their small menu, they could probably do it for you for a very modest price. Lets keep this place here for a long time!
Very authentic and fair prices. The atmosphere is relaxing and joyful. It's teriyaki is a little bit of sweet than the usual one but if u have been to japan, u will notice that's the real teriyaki.
