Review Chiffon Patisserie - Vancouver

Ben Klein
A pleasant little eatery downtown. Not sure it should still be called a patisserie as their pastry selection is good but limited. Three is a friendly neighborhood feel. They have a variety of lunch and breakfast items. Ready made salads, desserts, and sandwiches. They also have a number of entrees that you can order and are hand made on the spot (5 to 10 minutes). The interior is clean and cozy if a little dated. It's a great place to sit down and have a coffee and a small meal. No parking except for street meters or a nearby parkade. Staff are friendly, bathrooms are ok. It could sit a small group of maybe eight people and they do have outdoor seating for four.

I’ve eaten here twice so far as it’s close to work. The staff who I think are the proprietors of the restaurant are friendly and courteous. The food is really good. I had a breakfast wrap and it was made fresh and really flavourful. Great for a quick bite when working. Would define recommend!

Amazing customer service, best home cooked food I've had since i moved here. The chipotle chicken sandwich is amazing and tasty, the corn soup is delicious. Hidden gem for sure.

This place is amazing! They have a great selection of home-cooked meals everyday, great customer service, and delicious coffee! My co-workers and I go there almost everyday and are never disappointed. 10/10!

A total gem of a cafe. A wonderful local business with solid coffee and delicious breakfast wraps and lunches! They also have the most amazing cinnamon buns -- I crave them all the time, it's actualy a problem, haha 😜🙌. One of the highlights in this neighborhood.

My new favourite place for breakfast, lunch, and fresh baked goodies. Very reasonably priced for the quality you receive. Wish they were open 7 days a week!!

Not sure if there was a change in the ownership after recent renovation. I usually come here for pastry coffee and panini. Food doesn't taste the same. The recent renovation seemed to have erase the charm this little cafe had before. Service was terribly ackward. Pastry doesn't look as fresh and with as many options. A disappointment in all.

Having moved close by, I was very excited to have a French bakery so close - but I've been underwhelmed by my 2 visits there so far. I find their specialty sandwiches overpriced and rather bland. (I've ordered the California club, and a sausage breakfast wrap.) I've also had the banana bread which was woefully dry and tasted "plasticky".. On account of the Saran wrap, perhaps? The coffee's not bad and the baked fresh items look appealing.. Guess I'll simply have to relegate this place to merely a nearby cafe and not a lunch/brunch spot, unfortunately.

I stopped by here while waiting for Broadway Camera to open. I honestly was half awake and their coffee was an elixir. It looks like another sweet hangout spot to read the paper or do some work away from home. I only really had a raspberry yogurt muffin, but I’ll have to come back to try their lunch. A good stop by for a coffee.

Delightful. Cute little shop with wonderful treats! I come here to satisfy my sweet tooth (not very often, though, or I'd eat myself into obesity and/or diabetes) and have enjoyed everything I've tried. Their cheesecake brownie is to die for! I love stopping by just to see what they've whipped up. Delicious treats and reasonable pricing.

Fabulous!. Chiffon offers real, satisfying and delicious food (breakfast fare, sandwiches, soups, salads, and gourmet pastries and desserts) for very reasonable prices.
I am addicted to some of their pastries, and feel very lucky to work so close by
the shop. It just makes the whole block feel cozy to have Chiffon there, with
all the wonderful food and smells so close by...!

Pulled pork at a patisserie?. I unexpectedly wound up working a 12-hour day when I thought it was going to be an 8-hour shift, and had just brought one meal of leftovers from home. So on my second hour-long meal break (I LOVE my job!) I decided to go out for a bite, since I would raking in about $150 more than usual. (Did I mention that I love my job?) The First Nations place that was my first choice didn't resume serving food until 5 p.m., and the Malaysian place that was my second pick was closed on Monday. But Chiffon Patisserie had a chalkboard sign advertising pulled pork on a ciabatta roll with a bowl of soup for less than $10. I've passed by this place plenty of times and always figured it was a pastry shop, so I never stopped in. But for pulled pork, hell yeah!

Chiffon has some interesting pastries, but the bulk of the blackboards where the menu is chalked are devoted to sandwiches and breakfast items such as omelettes. My pulled pork came in an airy, triangular ciabatta roll, whose dimensions were wider than a medium-sized pizza slice but not as long. It featured a high stack of moist pork, with a bit of smokey flavour to the meat and a tangy Piedmont-style barbecue sauce. There was coarsely-cut slaw underneath, enough to balance the meat but not so much as to overwhelm the main attraction. Chiffon's sign said their soups are homemade, but the cup of cream of mushroom that came with the sandwich tasted like the bland Campbell's version that I ate buckets of when I was a kid. Not that there's anything wrong with that taste...

I gotta give a shout to Chiffon's cappucino, too. It was mid-afternoon and I needed a caffeine kick to get me through the final four hours of my shift, so I ordered a large. It didn't have the intense dark flavour of what I espress at home, but it wasn't milky or burnt, either. The foam -- and there wasn't too much of it, thank goodness -- had a nice brown ring of crema around the edges -- evidence that it was espressed well. It was almost as good as Australian coffee.

AWESOME. Chiffon patisserie is a wild blend of simple soups and sandwiches with an authentic asian twist, thanks to the chefs and baker. The desserts are different but simple and best of all - TASTY! It's gonna be a huge hit once the area is populated with the condos across the street. Can't wait to go back there and bring my pals!

On today's menu is a Lemongrass Pork Sandwich from Chiffon. Chiffon is known at work as the go to place for yummy stuff. It also met all my criteria especially the on not breaking the bank. I had a gift certificate that covered most of the cost. As a lunch special, you get the sandwich and your choice with a soup or a salad.

.... not bad, the staff at the counter advised that this trifle also has cream cheese but I didn't get it; surprisingly not as heavy as it looks

The servers are seemingly always happy and pleasant. The service can be a little slow during peak hours, but I have to cut them some slack since it’s a small operation and they are making most things to order.

We shared a giant hunk of an Old Fashioned Chocolate Cake for $3.95. Generally, I do not like chocolate desserts, nor do I like peanut butter with chocolate either, but this was amazing!

When I accompanied Ben to apply his Chinese visa, we came across this Chiffon Patisserie on West Broadway on our way back. It looks like a good candidate for my cake meet with Polly. From the urbanspoon site. this patisserie opens for breakfast and lunch on week days only. Meter parking is available along West Broadway. Just be ware that the parking is strictly enforced as we saw the meter is being checked while we were there. They have a good selection of pastries, salad, sandwiches and subs. The prices are quite reasonable. Chiffon Patisserie seats about 20 inside the restaurant. Polly ordered a small Mocha for drink while I ordered a … Tea Latte. My choice of tea was Goji Berry Green Tea. The small mocha costs $3.50 while the tea latte is $2.95. Our first dessert was a Lemon Bar. It is $2.95 for a good size bar. The shredded coconut adds texture to the tangy dessert. The sweet crust balances the tartness of the filing very well. The above Pavlova with strawberries costs $3.50. It
