[3.5/5]Everything I tasted tonight for the Dine Out Vancouver menu at The Granville Room was excellent. My favourite dish was the Prawn Lettuce Wrap. This is the beauty of the dinner, with a menu seemingly simple but striking us with quality ingredients and great flavours. My dining buddy, who is a pickier diner than I am, enjoyed the dinner a lot too.
This is one of the few places that have happy hour from 4 to 7pm. Their happy hour pizzas are good portions for the price. Great place to go with coworkers after work.
The menu is not perfect, but for $20, the Dine Out menu at Granville Room is really good. Good value for your money. If you want the wine pairing for every course, that would be roughly $20 extra on your bill. My recommendation on menu combination? Coconut Fried Prawns + Pork Belly + Coconut Panna Cotta. Then get yourself a glass of the Merlot.
Granville Room for happy hour last Wednesday, where pizzas of the above proportions are $8, cocktails of the above Old Fashion kind are $7, and beers on tap are $3 or $4! Choose the pizza with the funghi and meat; the chicken was not too special and the daily special was too vegetarian. Alcohol not watered down is the best part. J&J and I come here quite often, as their happy hours run to 7PM. Thanks for all the good times here, guys.
Last week, organizers previewed what's to come for Science of Cocktails at the Granville Room. Featured bartenders explored the physics, chemistry, and biology of three special boozy concoctions.
The duck poutine and music is awesome, but other than that it sucks here! How do they charge cover!?
Pleasantly Surprised. My boyfriend and I were looking to try something new downtown. After walking around for a while, we were starving and decided to try this place simply because it was right in front of us. Once we sat down the server walked by us twice before greeting us or bringing us menus, and I had a feeling that the service was going to be terrible. I was wrong! Once she began waiting on our table, the service was excellent all night. I wanted to try one of the drinks from their cocktail menu, and the server happily recommended one for me based on my tastes. I LOVED the drink! It was delicious. We order food. I got the mussels which were served in a green coconut curry broth over vermicelli noodles. The mussels were plump and tasted very fresh, the broth was delicious, and the noodles were a nice change from the standard bread that you often get with mussels in broth. My boyfriend ordered the burger, which he loved. It had sharp white cheddar, bacon, and an onion ring on it. I had a bite and could immediately tell that the patty was freshly made by the kitchen. The atmosphere in the place was nice, especially since we were able to sit at a high table near the window and people-watch while we enjoyed our meal and drinks. Over all, I have to say that I was pretty impressed by this place considering that I wasn't expecting much to begin with. Great food, great service, tasty drinks, nice relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely stop by here again sometime.
My favorite spot. This is hands down my favorite spot to have a quiet drink or get the night started. The room is sleek and comfortable, the food is great, and the staff is very friendly. Love the new cocktail list!
I thoroughly enjoyed the bar food appetizers including some crisp corn dogs and smoked bacon served straight up with peppers and HP sauce. Their duck confit and foie gras gravy poutine was another solid option on their diverse, eclectic menu.
The Absolut Elyx was the cocktail of choice here with each spot featuring its own signature, specially crafted drink.
Before clubbing, me and a friend decided to have dinner at granville room. I have never seen this place but I knew it existed. it's soo camoflaged, just like sanafir! There was one woman standing outside who greeted us and led us inside. It reminded me a
