The first Reserve store in Vancouver. Beautiful. Staff is super knowledgable and a lot of really interesting drinks, coffees and merchandise. If you're a coffee nerd like I am, I highly suggest getting a siphon-brewed coffee. It's quite an expensive cup of coffee - but it's more about the experience and the explanation / presentation of the brewing method by one of their baristas. Highly recommend visiting this Starbucks. It's unlike any other. Even with the arrival of the Pender Reserve bar, this one has its own personality. Neither of them can be compared to each other because they are excellence in their own ways, despite more or less selling the same product.

We have come here several times already. We always enjoyed eating the house affogato here because only Starbucks Reserve has it. The regular Starbucks doesn't have one.

The interior design and ambience are quite classy and upscale, so it attracts different types of customers. The main entrance has a pair of fancy, thick and well design doors. All the Starbucks cups, mugs and any corporate branded items are displayed right in the middle of the space. The menu is on a wall, so it is nice and big enough that people cannot miss it.

If you come here for a coffee, don't just order a regular latte or coffee beverages. Order one that is "reserve". For example, there is a "reserve" latte. Try their special coffee beverages. Grab a seat and enjoy your coffee.

I brew syphon coffee at home. This Starbucks Reserve sells syphon coffee at $10 for a cup or $25 for 3. If you don't brew it at home, come here and their baristas brew it right in front of you and explain how they do it. It is very interesting.

This Starbucks is located at Main Street and 14th. It is very busy all the time. It is harder to find seats or a table. Some students or people sit and work or study for a long time. I had to buy my items and leave a couple of times. I could not sit and enjoy the Starbucks drinks or affogato. I really hoped those people who sat there for a long time should be considerate and leave once they had finished their drinks (unfortunately no!) :(

This Starbucks doesn’t have a parking lot, so if customers drive, they have to look for street parking. It is more convenient for people who walk or take transit.

The Starbucks Reserve is a well-executed idea.

The ambience is certainly a notch compared to the regular locations. The interior is much more upscale - it is a totally different experience than your average Starbucks.

There are variety of brewing options and elegant presentation of the beverages on Reserve Roastery products.

This tends to be a busy location, but the lines tend to move quickly.

First time to be here at the reserve store and I ordered my favorite Dark Chocolate Mocha. The place is very spacious and very cozy. The staff are friendly and accommodating.

This location is a more upscale version of your typical Starbucks. Your drink/food comes in more formal dining ware. They offer some higher quality coffee beans with different brewing techniques. Also offer alcohol in the evening.

A very modern looking place that represents the Pacific Northwest. Decor is wood oriented.

House Affogato is a big hit. Expresso with a scoop of ice cream served with sparkling water.

Will definitely be back to try other coffees.

Finally, I had the time to try out the first starbucks reserve cafe in western Canada. It was so exciting stepping inside. The interior is very sheek and I loved their location on main street.

I ordered the affogato which is a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso and I fell in love. This was very soothing in the hot weather. Next the nitro cascara cloud cold brew. Holy shit lol. It's delivered a light and non bitter taste, smooth, refreshing. It was also amazing to look at, with each stir there was a cloud formation moving. They served these drinks with sparkling water... That was a nice surprise.

Would I go back again? Yes
Price is $5-10 per person but I definitely notice the level of quality. Service at this location is very good as well. They have a great team. I hope they get paid well, every single one of them had a positive attitude with efficient service.

Given that there is a Starbucks on every corner and sometimes even two on the same block, it felt weird to be driving all the way to this one in particular. Although not all of them are the new speciality reserve location. And the one on Main Street would be the very first in Vancouver. I have been meaning to stop by for a visit sooner, (although putting it off, as I am not an avid coffee drinker). However I do like spirits and this would also be the first location in the lower mainland to serve alcohol as well, on top of their still new, overly dressed coffee.

The remodeling and expansion of this Starbucks has been for the better. Firstly, the ambiance is very modern and inviting for the average West Coast young person. Large windows let in a lot of light to the Main Street side seating area, while the 14th Avenue side seating area is left in little in the dark. The highlight of the entire establishment is the Reserve Bar, the focus of the location. While I was not attracted to it, I saw faces I would not usually see at the location to check out and sit at the Reserve Bar. I've also seen a lot of tourist activity at this location, which I hope was a previously set goal that the change achieved. The baristas are extremely pleasant to be around and can hold a conversation while making multiple drinks. The amount of skill displayed by the baristas make this location a must-see attraction more than a regular old coffee shop. However, other Starbucks' in Vancouver should not be compared to this one, since the goal of the two types seem to be different.

On May 9, 2017, Starbucks celebrated 30 years in Vancouver by opening the doors to its renovated Mount Pleasant location (Main & 14th) – the first Western Canada store to feature an experiential Reserve coffee bar. If you have been to the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Seattle,  then this new store is a take on the same concept, but without the roasting facility. Did you know that the first Starbucks store in Canada opened at the Seabus Skytrain Station in 1987? To celebrate the 30th anniversary, the fully renovated Mt. Pleasant location is the first store in Vancouver to feature an experiential Starbucks Reserve® coffee bar.

Was meeting a friend for coffee one day when they proposed that we check out the “new Starbucks”. I thought to myself, new Starbucks? Wouldn’t it essentially be the same as a normal Starbucks? Little did I know, the format of this “Reserve” store had some unique offerings not found at regular outlets. It had me at affogato.

I was invited to check out the Starbucks Reserve Coffee Bar, the very first one in Western Canada,  at 2980 Main Street. It was during their regular hours, therefore the experience is not any different from the ones from regular visits.

The friendly staff briefed me on the major attractions at the Reserve bar. First of all, the bar features small-batch roasted beans which are more exclusive and higher in pricing. Secondly, it’s all about the exquisite Reserve experience for the customers, presented with a massive upscale space, and the showcase of the state-of-the-art coffee brewing methods. I found the interior design very Pacific Northwest, highlighted with red bricks, wood decors and comfy couches as if we would best enjoy our coffee with such a slightly gloomy ambience.

Mount Pleasant’s new Starbucks Reserve café opened a week ago. It’s unique in that it’s a project of Starbucks “firsts”. That is, it’s the first Reserve Bar in Vancouver and Western Canada – and the first and only Starbucks in Canada to have the reputable Black Eagle espresso machine.
Looking back, this used to be your regular Starbucks. Then they closed and took a sledgehammer to a wall which separated them from a grocery next door. In the same way, it seems this chain is hoping to knock down the mainstream Vancouver coffee drinker’s perception of what Starbucks is all about.

Went in here for the first time and thought they did a decent job renovating this place. Seating is spacious and comfortable.
Nice patio outside for summer days.

I tried their House Affogato and I would recommend anyone try it at least once. It was really good. Tastes blended really well.

Overall, I'll be back to try some of their other items on the menu.

Open from 5am - 10:30pm on weekdays,
6am - 10:30pm on Saturday,
6am - 10:00pm on Sunday.

Now open in Mount Pleasant is Vancouver’s first experiential Starbucks Reserve coffee bar at 2980 Main Street.  This elevated coffee experience at the newly renovated Mount Pleasant location encourages customers to immerse themselves into the state-of-the-art brewing methods, and witness the expert craftsmanship that goes into each cup of coffee.  This is Starbucks first Reserve coffee bar in Western Canada; the other location is in Ottawa.
