Great location. Good food. Reasonably priced. Superb service. So sad we had to leave Vancouver. But we will be back for a visit. Greetings from Singapore & Belgium. Cheers, Florence & Bill
I would probably come here more often if it was located right on campus, but it is worth the trek if you have a long break. The food is good here and you have quite a variety of food to choose from. I would say it's pretty vegetarian friendly as well.
This is the only place at UBC where I have zero hesitation in recommending it to other people. The staff here knows how to provide excellent customer service, plain and simple. They don't try and do anything too fancy, they just make you feel like they actually care about your business and are trying to retain said business. The food here is good, and there is a huge variety. The ambiance is pretty casual and it's not too much to look at. But again, I have to go back to the service. I ate here for two years and never once was I the recipient of anything less than top-notch customer service. The owner would offer my friends and I free coffees when we came in the afternoon to order breakfast. Just a great place all around.
Sit-in diner; breakfast all day. I've been here a handful of times with a big group and luckily, they're quite big and so we always had seats for everyone. This diner has a very homey and local feel to it. Located at the village on campus, this is a great place to have brunch. I got the pesto chicken and cheese panini ($8.50) and loved every bite of it. The cashier asked if I wanted salad or soup with it and I chose Caesar salad for an additional $3, which I wasn't aware so I would have appreciated if he told me first. The veggies weren't very fresh and it came with one piece of dried carrot which seemed awkwardly out of place and unappetizing. A friend ordered the typical 2 eggs and bacons ($8) which came with toast. Other than residences, this is the only other place on campus that I know will serve you eggs the way you want them. Their menu is extensive, with not only breakfast all day, but burgers and sandwiches as well. I would come here more often if the prices were slightly lowered which I believe it should as we're all students and there are so many other choices on campus. I could probably get a sandwich elsewhere for cheaper at the SUB.
Diner on Campus. The food is not very good, its a little expensive for what you get, but its the only diner like place on campus. You can get breakfast all day. If you are on campus and want breakfast or something simple this might be your best bet.
Super awsome place. My family and i go often And all of us eat under 25 bucks
Only U is a great place to eat, there's outdoor and indoor seating. Although, it's a dollar or to too pricy. There is always seating which is awesomme. Btw their fries are wicked!
Since school's starting in a month, a few days ago I went to the ubc bookstore to pick up some supplies!! I was going to eat off campus, but then I got hungry LOL. With my stomach rumbling, I had to find somewhere to eat, ASAP. Cause I get #hangry ;) It's going to feel so weird starting up after a 3 month hiatus lol! I took the winter semester off to go to asia with my mom, so now I have to make up for it by taking courses in the summer...boo!! So while everyone's sipping margaritas on the patio, I'm going to be sitting in a classroom writing lecture notes D: I usually don't like eating on campus because 1. the options are really limited, 2. the food's generally overpriced and 3. Everything is pretty mediocre haha. But if you guys want to see more campus food, I'll gladly eat it for ya! LOL ;) I've never been to Only U Cafe, but it's one of the busier cafes (especially for brunch) on campus! They're located near McDonalds, not too far from the bus loop! They're on the other side of the building across from Starbucks so you really have to look for it! Veggie Burger w/ Pesto Mayo & Avocado $11.99 2.5/5 stars This was okay. For the price, I could've gone somewhere else and gotten a better burger haha. While the patty was quite substantial, it didn't taste all that great, and the patty itself was a bit too mushy in texture and fell apart too easily. The bun was nice and soft, and there was a generous amount of pesto in there though with large chunks of avocado! :D Lots of avocado! :D Fries 3/5 stars Man, I haven't had crinkle cut fries in forever lol! These ones were pretty good, crispy, soft on the inside and sprinkled with a salt/cayenne seasoning!! (Click to Enlarge) Banana Bread from Willingdon Church! $1.50 3/5 stars Here's what I had for breaky yesterday! Every week I eat breakfast at church, I'm addicted to their pastries hehe. I'm pretty sure they make them in house, and they're pretty tasty!! Super moist and soft, with a ton of bananay flavour! I u
