Really enjoyed the southern fried artichoke sandwich. The fermented fries were good fries, but I couldn't really tell what was different about them from regular fries. Cute, small restaurant with lots of great vegetarian and vegan options.
The Arbor is a vegetarian restaurant located on Main street created by the minds behind The Acorn. My friend and I decided to come here for dinner to check it out as it was pretty busy, but they still had a few tables left. They don’t do reservations, so its first come, first serve. The space is very small and cozy, but there is a patio outside which is great for the Summer. They’ve really tried to maximize the space.
After a awsome night at the adult theme playland, my girlfriend continued to take me out on a wonderful brunch out. We entered the arbor and was greeted by a very kind man. Then at our table our server told us about their brunch features that only happens on the weekends. Fantastic!
If it's amazing service your looking for, your gonna get it here, from beginning to end. We absolutely adored their weekend features. As usual, my girlfriend loves dessert. We decided to finish off with their parfait.
Mind you its a $10.00 parfait, so our expectations were very high and boy did they nail it!
I would definitely come back again. It was so satisfying. We took a peak out back and they have a lovely and spacious patio space. You barely hear traffic out back. Out front it's very very dog friendly. I would love to bring our husky here to keep us company. I'm so happy my girlfriend picked this place. It's an awsome vegetarian and vegan place with reasonable prices. The culinary team is outstanding.
I forgot to mention, the coffee is also amazing.
The space here is lovely, especially the patio on a nice day. Decor is clean and bright. I liked the self-service water station, it was refreshing to not have to wait for a refill. The tacos were delicious. The artichoke sandwich was the real star here! I will absolutely be back to explore the menu. Parking is impossible to find so next time I will be taking the bus.
This place has awesome service, food, and price. We ordered the fennel sausage flatbread, artichoke nuggets, southern fried artichoke sandwich, and knotweed and strawberry spongecake (this is really good if you like not-so-sweet desserts like I do)!
The ⭐️ of the meal for me was the sandwich because the bread was perfectly toasted and all the ingredients (eggplant bacon, avocado mouse, cashew cheese, deep fried artichoke etc which all tasted ok individually) but when eaten together, they synchronized harmoniously!
It is has better quality, and cheaper than "Meet on main"; so if you are looking for a good vegetarian/ vegan place, look no further!
Great affordable vegan place created by the geniuses behind Acorn. The bao buns and Buffalo wings were amazing. The burger was alright and there are tonnes of other things on the menu I can't wait to try. Cool simple spot having good food, drinks while light on the wallet.
Finally made my way down Main to try The Arbor. I was happy to find that orders and payment were taken at the front as I was looking for for a quick lunch. The man who took my order was friendly and very knowledgeable of the food and drinks ( I believe he is one of the owners). I ordered the artichoke sandwich (sub house cashew cheese) and a chocolate coconut brownie. The sandwich was delicious, absolutely everything about it. The artichokes had a texture almost resembling lobster meat, very tender and rich. It had the perfect amount of heat and sauce, the only thing I would add is a bit more acid to cut the richness. The brownie was decadent but a bit too much salt. Can't wait to come back and try more, the burger and artichoke fritters were flying out of the kitchen. They have a good selection of craft beers and ciders as well as still and sparkling water on tap (free of charge).
Update: returned to try a few more dishes, the arburger and salad
I like The Acorn so I was excited about this new venture by the same people. The Arbor is more casual than its sister establishment & prices are more accessible. It's only the first week of operations, but they did very well tonight. Servers were friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt. But the wait for our mains was a tad too long. The menu is good for sharing or individual dining. My wife & I opted to share tonight. The foods were mostly hits.
The pulled jack fruit steamed bun was a hit. The jackfruit was covered in a bold BBQ sauce and topped with a bright cilantro salsa verde & pickled cucumber. The steamed bun, however, were a bit lacking. I'm Chinese so yes, I'm particular about steamed buns.
The fried artichokes nuggets was another hit. C'mon man, you can't go wrong with deep fried. It had a nice crispy coating - they were good on its own with the subtly sweet agave, but better with the pepper aioli.
The funghi flat bread (hit) had a nice crunchy crust & loads of mushrooms. There was goat cheese, balsamic dressing and, I think hummus, for extra layers of flavour.
The beet carpaccio salad was hit & miss. The thinly sliced beets with a small dot of goat cheese dressing was nice, but the arugula salad was not dressed at all. It needed a vinaigrette to brighten the dish & amp up the flavour.
Lastly, we had the pumpkin bread pudding for dessert. This was a miss. There was not enough cream for a bread pudding. The bread was too dry and a bit on the salty side. I'll try the banana beignets instead next time. There will definitely be a next time because I saw lots of beautiful food coming out of the kitchen tonight.
