Fantastic neighbourhood Italian place! Relaxed and friendly, stellar food, and best pizza in Vancouver. Good with family or a special occasions, both classy and friendly— a rare combination. A gem in point grey.
Absolutely delicious! I'd admit that the interior and exterior of the restaurant could use some updating, however the food completely makes up for it. I had the most fantastic bowl of spaghetti and meatballs with their homemade (chef's secret recipe) bread. I would go back just for the bread! The prices are very reasonable and I had such a nice experience there. I will definitely be back there soon!
Great food, service and value. When in town we've eaten here several times. The food is always great. We've eaten in there when it's not crowded and also when it's been very busy. The servers are consistently pleasant and thorough. The food is always great.
One of my best dining experiences. Bella Roma is by far one of my favorite restaurants. I discovered this place last year with a friend and it has become our go to place.
The restaurant doesn't stand out too much from the outside, but the interior is absolutely stunning! The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and perfect for a nice evening out. They even have a pianist come in once a week.
I have never been a huge fan of spaghetti because of the price but Bella Roma definitely changed that for me. The price, $15-$20, is average for an Italian restaurant. Although, the quality of food and the quantity they serve definitely surpass some of the most popular Italian restaurants in Vancouver.
Aside from the food, the service has always been polite and friendly. If you have the opportunity I would definitely recommend having a chat with the owner as he is super friendly and has an interesting culinary history.
My friend and I introduced this place to our larger group of friends and now whenever we have birthdays, celebrations, or looking for a place to dine we come here!
Just lovely!. This restaurant will become my new go-to for quality Italian food for sure! Upon entering, I was immediately charmed by quaint, romantic and cozy ambience of the tiny restaurant. I shared a large pomodorro fresco pizza with a friend- absolutely delicious and with quality ingredients. I don't know what it is about woodstone ovens but I find that any pizza that comes out of one is just so much better! I've heard before that the pizzas are somewhat pricey- I disagree with that opinion because I don't think 20-something dollars for a VERY large (between my friend and I, we couldn't finish it) and best of Vancouver-nominated pizza is unreasonable. The desserts were amazing as well! The creme caramel was decadent and satisfying, and the tiramisu might be the best I've ever had- not too sweet and not soaked in too much sambuca.
On a side note, the owner Jimmy is dedicated, knowledgeable, and just an absolute delight. Will be back again and again :)
Bella Roma has become my absolute favourite place to dine at when I am in dire need of some top quality and delicious Italian food. I was first introduced to this pizzeria and ristorante by a couple of my friends who insisted I try their brick oven baked pizza. On every occasion I have dined here, I have never experienced anything short of excellent. One of the things I admire most about Bella Roma is the ambiance that owner and chef, Jimmy Khinda has created. He never fails to make his guests feel welcomed and provides outstanding service! On certain nights, there is also wonderful live piano entertainment to accompany dinner.
Yesterday a couple of my friends and I were celebrating a birthday here and we were given tiramisu and creme caramel on the house which definitely made her day!
I highly reccomended eating at Bella Roma. I always leave craving for more!
We are Italian and we eat here all the time. Absolutely prima place. Bella Roma Hello Roma and the sauce is NOT canned
Wonderful. My husband & I are out of town, we really enjoyed the atmosphere and service. The food was excellant we have had their pizza's and their seafood pasta. Would recommend this location to anyone I know who might be looking for a lovely, quite place to enjoy the evening, with friends or family.
Great food in a community restaurant; well worth checking out. I'm not sure why prior reviewers have suggested they've seen this food at Costco? The food is very tasty, fresh, and is a unique small community restaurant. Top it off with pizza from a wood burning brick oven and live entertainment and you can't ask for more!
I have walked by Bella Roma almost daily for more than a decade since I live in their neighbourhood and have always meant to give them a try because of the brick oven pizza. Our family finally dropped in last night and loved it. An intimate setting in Point Grey and seating for just 40, makes for a nice place to walk to and worth driving to if you live elsewhere in Vancouver.
In addition to the pizza - we had one with proscutto - they have a selection of daily specials. We opted for the Lentil soup and Fettucini with prawns and scallops. The tastes really came through in each dish and this is on par with the Quattro's chain in quality. The prices are a bit high for a place with out the cache of Quattro's but quality and cooking at a small scale in a local community must not be cheap. Large pizzas are $22 with daily special dishes around the same price.
This is one place that we are definitely planning on returning to in the future. In addition to the best pizza we've had in Vancouver, their other dishes are just as great.
Best spaghetti and meatballs. The sign outside is misleading. You go in and it's a great spot! The food was outstanding. The osso bucco, gnocchi, Margarita pizza were excellent. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. It was simply outstanding. Food was worth every penny. Will be back.
Best PIZZA i've ever had ! ! !. We had pizza delivery from this place & were amazed by how tasty it was ! The delivery took about 30 - 45min. Pizza Hut Pizza ready in 10 min. if you are picking it up, means it's crap and was done from pre backed/microwaved crust. This pizza was cooked in brick oven. The crust was thin and the toppings were amazing. We simply loved the pizza.
One thing we weren't too happy about was that it was a little bit expensive $25+tip for a large pizza. And it was a little bit smaller than average large pizza.
Yes we will order it agian, but I wish it was cheaper and bigger ! ! !
Great Pizza. I've been to Bella Roma several times now and every time, I've found the service to be excellent, the food very good and the atmosphere very pleasant. My favorite is the Chicago pizza and would recommend it to anyone. The prices are reasonable and the wine selection is wide.
A real gem. Great food and friendly service. Have tried many of their dishes and have liked them all. A little slice of Tuscany close to home.
We discovered Bella Roma by fluke but are so happy we did! It is easily the closest thing to being back in Rome that we have found here at home. The pizza was thin the way it should be and the flavour and quantity of the toppings was perfect. We missed the live piano player but the atmosphere was very nice for a quiet dinner for two. Appetizers were also authentic and there were several Italian wines to choose from at reasonable prices In all it was a great experience that we have told many of our friends about and we can't wait to go back to try more of their pizzas and other menu choices. Highly recommend that you try it out - it will take your taste buds back to Italy for sure!
FINNALY THE GREAT PLACE.... This is that place that you can eat extremely good and at the same time have a very nice relationship with the staff(especially the cheff).
Bella Roma is very cute litlle familly place where you can feed not only your body, but your soul too.
Brick oven baked handmade pizza with a special, fresh toppings, handmmade lasagna, gniocci, aglio olio etc...
meats I will not even mention , it is so good that you shoul try that for sure. That is beyond the words and to say anything less than that is ridicoulous.
Pasta ? Same story, sauces simple, but delicious experience.
As the interior is mediterenian, it appears as you are in the midlle of Italy, somewhere.
This place is true picture of italian small, familly type of gathering places with more than good food.
It is wormly and tasty decorated, simple yet interesting.
above all this is the place that even my kids LOVE, and we all know how difficult is to have the kids enjoy food with a lot of vegetables.
Those mean comments are simply mean and are not describing the place at all.
Sheepie wanted to take me to an Italian restaurant he fancied trying out which had a real fire oven to make the pizza. After returning from Italy and indulging on lots of authentic pizza, Sheepie was craving for more. However, he seemed to have mixed up the address or the restaurant and we ended up at Bella Roma instead. But Bella Roma also had the fire brick oven, so we decided to give it a try. It was around 8:30pm on a Saturday evening, but the place was completely deserted. We thought it might be the time and the street was also empty, but we saw other restaurants across the street doing fine with customers enjoying their meal. We were a bit concerned, but the server greeted us with a friendly smile and was quite perky throughout our dinner. The restaurant has a night cozy atmosphere, great for romantic dates. The tables are already set up as you would find in higher-end restaurants. It was a little lonely being the only ones dining though… Bite-sized complimentary bread with toppings were really good. We were off to a good start. Later, there were two more bread (without toppings) that came. The prices from the menu online and in actuality differs, so I guess their website hasn’t been updated yet. I thought I saw Linguini with white wine and clams, and that’s what I ordered, but I got the Linguini white Wine Vongole $16.99 instead. I didn’t complain as I was unable to decide for a long time since I was sitting on the fence on whether to go for a tomato base, or olive oil/white wine base. At the end of our dinner, I picked up their to-go menu and looked but the pasta with only white wine wasn’t there…so I guess I’m wrong? But I was sure…otherwise, why would I debate on which one… Anyways, the pasta was filling and satisfactory with lots of
Bella Roma has only been open for a few months. It has a lot of competitions. Provencal, an expensive Mediterranean restaurant with better hours, is right across the street. Some Kind of Pasta, a local favourite pasta joint, is less than a block away. The
