This is a small deli located in Kits on Broadway serving up a large menu of sandwiches, along with various sides like soup and salad. You order at the front counter; they do have a limited number of seating, so you may need to take your food to go if it's busy. I had their Classic Reuben and Back from Rome. I found their chicken to be a bit bland, but I really enjoyed their pastrami sandwich. The prices are also very reasonable. I highly recommend checking this spot out for some good quality and affordable meals.
Classic Reuben ($8.25):
4/5
This consisted of pastrami, Russian dressing, sauerkraut, and swiss cheese on grilled rye bread. The sandwich came with a very good amount of meat, which was tender, salty and flavourful. The sauerkraut provided a great bit of tanginess that cut through the richness of the meat and cheese. The bread was also perfectly grilled and crispy.
Back from Rome ($9.25):
3.5/5
This contained chicken breast, pesto, roma tomatoes, and boccocini on grilled ciabatta. The sandwich again has a good amount of filling. The chicken breast, while tender, was a little bland and underseasoned. The pesto had a nice, strong flavour, but was also not salty enough. The bread was again perfectly grilled and crispy.

Cute little place. The food is not as quick as you think it is because when we went, there was only one person preparing all our food. I ordered the Roast Beef sandwich, which was really delicious. It has a huge chunk of roast beef and the sandwich was perfectly buttered. My friends ordered the smoked salmon, which wasn't very impressive as they only had one slice of salmon available, which was a disappointment. Tastewise, it was really delicious!
They also offer soups, but I didn't get to try them out this time unfortunately. Drop by to try it out!
One of my favorite sandwich places. Can be a bit pricey if you choose to get a full sandwich, but their half sandwiches are great--especially if paired with a cup of delicious tomato soup.
My recommendation: Flying High (chicken and argula, so good!) and Walkie Talkie (Avocado Grilled Cheese, not greasy at all, unlike what you'd expect)
We stopped here for lunch on our way to a soccer game at UBC. The menu was extensive, and the kids' menu varied enough (if a little fancy). The prices were very reasonable.
I got an Up & Awake--roast beef, lettuce, red onions, bbq sauce, scallion cream cheese. It was delicious. The Wife even liked it, and she doesn't usually like roast beef.
The Mother-in-Law got a Chef's Salad. She reported it to be good, but the lettuce was mostly the crunchy stem bits.
The only thing that frustrated us was another "cash/debit only" establishment in Canada. We would have bought two more sandwiches if we could have used a credit card. Don't know what their cost-benefit analysis shows, but it definitely isn't benefiting me. I guess it's time to start having Canadian cash on hand for these types of situations.
Quaint little café, with big taste!
Endless delicious sandwich choices, likely to satisfy anyone's tastes...
I mean it...these sammies were well thought out!
With a cool hangout to listen to instrumentals- while the owner works his magic behind the counter. It is honestly rarity for me to feel a comfort and familiarity while I'm hanging in Vancouver, yet this place has made a mark on me.

Drunken Master is always raving about Harvest Deli and how it has the best sandwiches in the city. I also have an ex who used to rave about the same thing. Although I’d been there a couple of times when it first opened, it had been quite some time, so I figured that it was time for a return visit. Plus I wanted to see if Drunken Master really knows what he’s talking about. So this past weekend I walked the couple of blocks over to Harvest Deli just before noon to pick myself up some lunch. Since I knew I’d be blogging about the experience, I decided to go crazy and order two sandwiches and a soup so that I’d have more to blog about. I briefly considered eating them in the restaurant, but figured that if I took them to go at least I wouldn’t have to deal with the shaming looks of people seeing me eating enough food for two people. Being me is hard.
Suprisingly great little place. "Surprisingly", because I go by it all the time and never have bothered to go in. Not sure why. It's kind of unconventional, but a friend said it was really good and it really is. Huge selection of sandwiches and they come in two sizes. I had the small, which just means less meat. It was still huge for a lunch sandwich and was delicious. They grill it on really nice sourdough. The chef clearly takes his sandwiches seriously. He has passion and it shows. All in all, a great little place and I waited too long to try it.
Pictured is the Reuben, but the one with coleslaw instead of sauerkraut.
This place was a wonderful surprise. The tomato soup was probably one of the best I've ever tasted! And we had a chicken and pesto sandwich, also fresh and amazing. The two complimented each other quite well and the service was fantastic. I'll definitely be back!
Best sandwich you will have in Vancouver. Do yourself a favour and order the BAM!
A perfect lunch for a fall day. Cream of tomato soup with the #1 vegetarian sandwich on the menu. I don't normally have two tomato items during the same meal but these two complimented each other perfectly. The thing I appreciated most about the soup was that it was slightly sweet and not overtaken by acidity. The tomato in the sandwich was a bit mealy but it can be expected this time of the year when we are past the season. The pesto soaked into the bread and was an absolute delight. This will certainly not be my last visit.
Best thing I've put in my mouth. I can't believe I have never heard/seen this place having lived in the kits area for three years!
I walked by when taking a study break from calhouns and noticed the incredible menu. I literally could not stop thinking about it for the next two days and had to put my sandwich cravings to rest. I'm a vegan so the head chef altered "The Shadow" vegetarian sandwich special to fit my needs. It was unreal. I also tried the lentil soup which was basically like spooning angel tears into my mouth- so delicious! I am heading back the tomorrow for something happy after I maybe-most-likely fail my last final. Thanks Remi!
Favorite neighborhood spot. High end ingredients, fantastic recipes, and a wonderful owner. Once you try the food I can guarantee you will return often!
Amazing all around. Great fresh sandwiches. Quality ingredients. Reasonable prices. Housemade spreads, salsas, tapenades. Super friendly & knowledgeable chef named Remi. We had him cater our little one's 1st birthday party. Super accommodating to work with.
My toddler loves his cream of tomato soup. At the end of the meal when we asked her if she wants a cookie, she says "soup". :)
Delicious lentel soup, friendly staff. Three large tables so mingling is potentially required.
If you've yet to take the deli plunge; this is a fine place to start. So richly detailed with classical combinations of the finest ingredients that one almost aches from the taste.
Flavors that will blow your mind.. With many many sandwiches to choose from, and fresh tasting ingredients Harvest Deli is by far my favorite place to grab a bit to eat in Kits. The expert chef, Rami, will stack your sandwiches chalk full of meat (there are veggie options as well) and makes almsot all of his sauces and seasonings in house. If by some odd chance you happen to try a sandwich you don't like there are plenty more there to chose from, and I can GUARANTEE that there is one on that list that will tickle your fancy in ways that no sandwich has before. These delicious warm sandwiches seem to melt in your mouth and you will certainly be back for more.
Also if your having trouble finding a sandwich on the extensive menu, just explain to the chef what you like and he will most likely recommend a sandwich you'd love.
Amazing. I've never really be compelled to write a review here, but a Harvest Deli sandwich is perfection
I love cooking, but there is no way I could top a sandwich from there. The chief is an extremely talented man... he execution is detail oriented... emphasis on the utmost best ingredients - every part of my sandwich was perfect, but added up to a greater whole than its parts!
Simple, beautiful worth every dollar!
Will be a returning customer... this place a rare gem.
Urbanspoon rating explained. Now i see why this place got so many appraisals on urbanspoon. great ambience, good music (quiet enough to enjoy it while enjoying the food!), loved my chickpea soup, and the rye bread to go with it was the best i've had in Canada. there's wifi and the guy behind the counter is beyond professional. definitely bringing my boyfriend here for an extended sandwich feast!
Best sandwiches in Vancouver! Absolutely deelish!
One fantastic sandwich place. Believe those reviews, those sandwiches will blow your mind. Creative and with the best ingredients available. Your only challenge will be to chose one... Then to wait for it to arrive, because good things take time and those sandwiches are made to order: no soggy bread, wilted lettuce here, it's always fresh, just made for you.
My favorite is the Ruby in disguise (#15), a healthier mutation of the classic Rubens that will blow your taste buds away.

Stumbled across this place when walking around Kitsilano looking for lunch. The sandwiches are so well made and the ingredients are really fresh and well balanced. Great balance between quality and price, great selection, and very friendly service. Just an awesome sandwich place perfect for a good meal.
Best soup & sandwich ever!. My husband and I highly recommend the Harvest Deli. We tried the Montreal smoke meat sandwich, the Who is It? (corned beef, pastrami) and shared a lentil soup. They were simply delicious! The ingredients were fresh and tasty. We also enjoyed the hospitality of Rami, who did an excellent job to serve his guests. We will definitely come back!
Amazing breakfast!. One of the best breakfast's I've ever had. The english muffin with Egg, Cheese and Turkey bacon is absolutely delicious. Definitely give it a try, far better than any other restaurants english muffin breakfast.,
Excellent. Unpretentious sandwich shop - with fantastic soup - in a nice setting. I had the Montreal smoked meat sandwich on sourdough (perfect) and the Moroccan lentil + chickpea soup (VERY nice). The coffee was also quite good. Harvest Deli was fortunately free of the latte-swilling MacBook Pro-carrying 20-something hipster douches the were packed like lemmings inside the chain coffee shop on the corner of the same block that I saw on the way back to my to my vehicle. Kudos to the chef - I will definitely be back again soon.
Amazing Sandwiches. Harvest Deli has some of the most amazing sandwiches to be had at any price. The place is simple and unpretentious and the owner Rami is friendly and always quick to talk about his food.
You can't find better food out there.
Love This Place. I decided to try this place from a recommendation I received and it was well worth it. The place is nice to sit in with rustic wood tables and a really nice owner/chef. There are many sandwiches to choose from but I went with #19 5oz. The 5oz was very big and well worth the reasonable price. I would make a guess that two people could share the 8oz and be reasonably full. Everything tasted fresh and was made as soon as you order. I'm definitely coming back with my whole family next time, this is now my fave deli in Kits.
Great Neighborhood Haunt. Harvest Deli is the kind of small restaurant that every neighborhood should have. Rami, the chef/owner, spends most of his waking hours at the restaurant. His commitment to fine dining is evidenced in the handmade quality of his food. Everything is fresh and made to order. Harvest Deli is a welcome relief to the chain restaurants on West Broadway in Kitsilano. My wife and I ordered two dinner specials advertised on the blackboard. One dish was a roasted chicken with tagliatelle noodles in a gently spiced sauce of roasted red peppers. Rami roasted the chicken after we ordered our dish; can't get much fresher than that. The chicken was flavorful and moist, not dry as in pre-prepared food. The other dish we ordered was a dinner salad of mixed greens, candied salmon, and goat cheese in a vinaigrette dressing that was light but tasty. For $7.95, the four generous pieces of salmon in the salad was a bargain. Rami clearly aims to please. When I mentioned how much I like grilled portabella mushroom, he offered to make me a sandwich on my next visit, even though it is not currently on the menu (as of Sept. 2011). I thoroughly enjoy eating here, but mostly I love Rami's honesty and respect for his customers. Another great addition to the local food scene.
Low Key Excellence. This is an unassuming but quaint new deli a few doors down from Blenz coffee on the corner of Broadway and Bayswater.
The chef is Robbie and it is obvious he takes great care in what he prepares for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Working 7 days a week for the last four months, his food is exceptional. Quality ingredients transformed with care and attention. It is the old school cooking of our moms, when time was spent in the kitchen creating lovely tasting food for the ones you love. It is a rare treat. In a week I have gone back three times. Twice for the lamb shank and once for the salmon. I'd challenge you to try it as this is the sort of place that deserves to survive in the tough world of running a restaurant.
Delicous food, great service, best ingredients. Finding lunch on West Broadway has always been problematic for me. There are great Sushi and Thai places, but sometimes I am just in the mood for a great sandwich or a hearty bowl of soup. Imagine my delight when I heard that a deli had just opened at Broadway and Bayswater.
Harvest Deli has an amazing selection of sandwich options, every time I go in there with a plan but something delicious catches my eye and it takes me an additional five minutes to figure out what I want to try.
The owner, Rami Zibat, is super friendly and chooses only the best ingredients, and you can definitely taste the quality. I have had a few of the sandwiches and they have all been excellent but if I had to pick the best it would be anything with the Montreal smoked meat on it. He also sells cheeses and meats and his homemade soups are superb, it's impossible to make a wrong decision in there!
I would recommend Harvest Deli to anyone who wants a quality and fresh soup or sandwich. The food is amazing, the service is lovely and there is nothing comparable around.
The thought of having to talk to someone sounded like a terrible idea so I went for a solo trip along Broadway to find something that would help ease the pain. Harvest Deli is one place I’d been wanting to write about as I’ve been there a number of times over the years and really enjoy their food, so an easy decision was made. When you first walk in you see a number of different looking tables and chairs, it’s clear that consistency in the decor was not their number one priority.
Harvest Deli is one of our favourite delicatessen. There are lots of choices on the menu and it is enjoying a very high mark on urbanspoon. The entrance is pretty easy to get overlooked, especially on Broadway. The furnishings are simple yet decent. Specials. This is the menu. Over 100 choices~ Their categories are Roast beef, Corned beef/Pastrami, Free range chicken, Maple smoked turkey, Black forest ham and Smoked sockeye. Our favourties are #32 Reuben A La Dinde, #33 Close Cut, #54 On the Road Again, #50 Joined At the Hip, #7 You’re the top, etc. The pictures below are some sandwiches we have tried: All are very fresh and nice:) Harvest Deli (604) 739-3354 2963 W Broadway, Vancouver, BC
Harvest Deli boasts over 100 sandwiches on their menu! While at first this may seem attractive to your average consumer, for myself, given so much choice I usually make a poor one.
