Melriches is a good place for not just coffee and other beverage favourites, but also for breakfast, lunch and deserts. I tend to go for the Huevos Rancheros and my partner grabs the Italian Breakfast. Check out their carrot cake, New York style baked cheese cake, sausage rolls and variety of cookies and muffins. Great atmosphere and a local gathering spot. Check it out if your in the neighborhood.

Great atmosphere and location, came here to try their coffee and was disappointed.
Perhaps it was a new barista, the shot of espresso was not dialed in and had too much water.
I’d come here for the pastries and stay for the atmosphere but avoid the coffee unless it’s filtered.

My favorite cafe to hang out in! Relaxed atmosphere, cute and comfortable!

Interesting and friendly coffee shop. Order and pickup drinks at the counter, but they bring your food to your table. They have a variety of baked goods, desserts, sandwiches, and quiches to choose from in addition to a drink menu with lots of seasonal choices. The menu has nice variety without being overwhelming. Food is delicious and presentation is very appealing.

So happy I found this place! Their green tea latte is awesome, and the cheesecake seems pretty good too - still have to try it. First cafe with more than two options of tea, they even had yerba mate. Great coffee too, and an extensive food menu. Staff was also very friendly. Will definitely come back.

2 coffees + giant croissant for $7! And 16oz beer for $5. GREAT PRICES.. PLUS Love the 1990’s vibe. AND Thanks for not using plastic stir sticks. 🌎♻️❤️👌🏽

This place is always kickin’! It’s my favourite coffee house in the West End. I do find the prices for the food to be a tad high for what you get (smaller portions; your sandwich doesn’t come with fries or coleslaw or a typical side given the cost of the dish). The desserts are fantastic!! Their carrot cake is exactly how mum used to make it (even better!). The staff are all exceptionally friendly. I hope one day they expand their space as they are often at full capacity!

My favourite cafe in the West End. I lived nearby for 6 years and I still crave items from this place! I recommend the Breakfast Croissant and their London Fog.

This is easily the NOISIEST coffee shop in Vancouver. If you're looking for the normal noises of a coffee shop, you won't find them here. It's fairly dirty. The interior of this coffee shop hasn't changed in 30 years.

This is a coffee house located on Davie, near Bute. In addition to various drinks, they have a pretty large menu of sandwiches and other breakfast/lunch items, as well as pastries and other items, which look homemade/rustic. I had their Blueberry Cheesecake, Sausage Roll and Carrot Cake. In general, the food was fairly enjoyable, but nothing outstanding. I don't know the individual prices of the items (they didn't have prices posted), but the total came to just over $16, which is fairly reasonable. This is certainly worth a visit if you're in the neighbourhood.

Blueberry Cheesecake
3.5/5
The cheesecake was served with blueberry sauce. The filling was dense and very firm; I like my cheesecakes to be on the firmer side, but this was a bit too much even for me (I could hardly cut through it with my fork). It was sweet; I would have liked there to be a bit more tang. It had a nice fragrance; I think that there might have been some cinnamon or other spices in the crust. The blueberry sauce appears to be homemade and was filled with small berries.

Sausage Roll
3.5/5
The pastry enclosing the sausage was a bit soft, but flakey; I did find it to be too salty however (and I actually like salt). The sausage itself was quite tender and juicy, with a nice bit of spice.

Carrot Cake
4/5
The cake itself was quite moist, contained raisins, and had a great fragrance of spice. The cream cheese frosting was creamy and sweet, with a nice bit of tanginess.

Summary
Food: 3.5/5
Price: 3.5/5
Service: N/A
Overall: 3.5/5
Recommendations: Carrot Cake

The services at this restaurant was extremely slow.

Personally i found that The food tasted quite bland however my friends liked their food. The atmosphere and staff at this restaurant was ok.

The cleanliness isn’t that great either. Staff are slow to cleanup after patrons.

Coziest coffee house on davie? Perhaps... I love the all day breakfast menu, vancouver needs more! I had the breakfast croissant, it had a layer of black forrest ham, topped with 2 scrambled eggs some tomatoes and a ridiculous amount of cheddar cheese. It came with a side of hot sauce which was nice, and for 6.25 you cant complain. The coffee here is pretty good too. Well done coffee house, well done.

Debit card fee. Went in today to buy cinnamon buns. Used my debit card and noticed there was a .25 cent fee. I asked the cashier what that fee was for and she said she did not know. Other guy behind the counter has so much attitude it was crazy. Looks like they are charging their customers for the fee that they must pay to the payment processor. Sorry Mr Melrich but that should be a cost of doing business. Never stepping in that joint again.

Long wait and greasy paninis. I walked into Melriches only because it was busy. Busy must mean that there is something good here, right? Obviously I made the poor choice of ordering a panini, because I waited 27 minutes for food that was already made and sitting in the glass showcase. I understand that the wait was long because it was so busy, but is no way around this? Half an hour for lunch is much too long.

The meal itself was slick with grease and reflected light at all corners (see photo). Was it filling? Yes. But I didn't feel very comfortable eating something layered with oil. Would I return? Probably not.

I admit that this review may not be a good reflection of Melriches' true capabilities, as I did not consume any of their coffee nor specialty drinks. So if you're going for a drink, don't accompany it with a Panini of any sort.

Best breakfast sandwich in the Lower Mainland.. Not much more to say, really. It's an excellent breakfast sandwich (scrambled egg, ham, cheese and veggies, served on delicious sourdough toast), it's served with a small container of really good hot sauce for dipping, and this is pretty much the best place in Vancouver to settle down for an hour with a newspaper, a cup of coffee and -- of course -- the sandwich. In the heart of one of Vancouver's more vibrant gay villages, so if you're particularly comfortable in that milieu, so much the better.

The customers are always an interesting crowd, with personality - both good and bad.

The sandwiches are really good, a bit pricey but for downtown it’s a good coffee shop that’s a really good virtual office.
