I love the variety of tortas and food options they have. Staff is friendly and food is delicious.

Great mexican reataurant!! We got the family dinner take out for 2 and it was fantastic, meats were really tasty and it was fun to make your tacos at home! Definitely recommend it!!!

Loved the torta de milanesa at Las Tortas Mexican Gourmet Sandwiches. My whole family can for dinner the other night and we all loved it. They also have the best horchata!

Delicious and authentic Mexican food. The family that owns and runs it also bottles and sells their own salsa! They have other hot sauces and Mexican vanilla in their little restaurant. We will definitely be back foe more scrumptious food.

Five stars, I've been here a bunch and never had anything to complain about. The employees behind the counter are always off-the-charts nice. Not to mention, their birria tacos are easily the best in Van. Highly recommend!

I ordered the BOGO Chicken Fajita Tacos and Jamaica on Uber Eats for lunch today. The red salsa and spicy guacamole were missing from the bag, only received the green salsa as a side. The tacos were good however a little bland, with the guacamole and red salsa they would've been a lot better! The Jamaica had a light but good taste.

I’ve been searching for an authentic Mexican restaurant since I came to BC. A friend and I went to Las Tortas this week and I can confidently say I finally found it. We got tacos, a torta, & a tres leches cake — all were absolutely phenomenal!!! Highly recommend to anyone wanting authentic Mexican food!!

Probably the best tortas I've had in Vancouver, next to the original back in Mexico! Would highly reccomend this place, and look forward to going back, to explore their different styles of Mexican food :)) The staff is super sweet and friendly too; go check it out!

I love this place! I tell everyone about it! The best!

Great service and the food was amazing. Best tamale I've had in ages.
Aloha Abrigo Llamado
I love their tamarind juice (tamarindo); and the tamale (tamales) is sumptuous

Definitely coming back here! Awesome sandwiches, very unique. Yum.

The best tortas!

This was my first meal after landing in Vancouver. We were famished and Las tortas was the perfect meal fory family and me. We had the quesadilla, a burrito and a sandwich all of which were great.
I like it when the chips come out hot, you know that the place has character!
I would go back.
Yes. We,re Eating Again.
I went to Las Tortas during Vanfoodster's 2018 Taco Challenge. This is another small and simple family style place. A menu of tortas and tasty home style Mexican food. Their offering for the challenge is the El Campechano Taco, the most expensive of all the entrants at $9.50. It did not seem overpriced as this was a loaded taco. Grilled sirloin and chorizo on a chipotle tortilla were a good start. With chicharon, napolitos, black beans, habanero mango crema, queso fresco and pico de gallo. It is a combination of a lot of impressive individual elements that make an impressive whole! Not to be overlooked is a tasty little slaw of jicama served on the side! I also tried a couple of tacos off of their regular menu; lamb and pulled pork. Uncomplicated, served on two tortillas with simple toppings, they were very good. This was some of the best and most distinctive tasting lamb that I have had in a while and I loved it. Order at the counter and your food is delivered to you. The folks are quite friendly and were happy to talk to me about their food!

Las Tortas is a restaurant on Cambie Street that serves up Mexican cuisine as is known for their tortas – Mexican sandwiches. M and I were in the area and needed some dinner, so I thought we should stop here to grab a quick bite since I haven’t been here before and we are both huge fans of Mexican food.

Las Tortas Mexican Sandwiches (墨西哥三文治小餐館)

雖然這店子門面小小又不顯眼,但在2016年却相繼獲得兩個溫哥華飲食界權威的榮譽獎項,其中包括“Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards - Best of the Americas銅獎”和“Vancouver Fooster People’s Choice – Taco Challenge 2nd Place”,實在令人錯愕不已!

Pollo Parilla Tortas (Mexican Sandwiches) $10.00 (3.5/5

This was stop number two on our systematic crawl for tacos around Vancouver. This is an annual event created and hosted by “Vancouver Foodster”, it celebrates some of his favourite taco places. I was plus one to the dynamic “Picky Diner”, who was not only one of the judges of this event; but a friend to “Vancouver Foodster”. Our two eventually became a three as we ended up tagging along with “the Foodster”, touring his own crawl. He was a fine guide, giving us context of each place and regaling us with tasty tall tales.

Food
Taco salad
- light and well portioned
- would have been nice if it came in a taco shell bowl instead of the tortilla chips
Chicken tacos
-flavourful but missing some sour cream

Ambiance
- we sat outside but it's a small little restaurant
- ideal for a quick bite

Service
- quick and friendly

My husband had a sandwich which he really enjoyed. I also liked my torta but did not like the chicken very much. It was kind of bland for a place that has spent time getting the flavour into everything else.

Great Mexican food! This place is definitely authentic as it is owned and run by Mexicans. We ordered the torta sandwich and four tacos and it did not disappoint! Fresh ingredients and authentic taste. The service is also fantastic. I asked to try a sample of the hotchata and the lady gave me a generous portion. The only critique I have is the portion for the Mexican was a bit small for $11.50.

Excelent milanesa torta. Well, actually the Chilanga, with a perfect milanesa and mexican chorizo... for sure this just became one of my favourites restaurants in vancouver.

The pierna sandwich checkbox has seen the most action from me. Pork thigh roasted with Mexican spices is mopped up nicely in the soft bread, although I’m quite fond of chorizo sausage and Oaxaca cheese too.

Just ok Mexican Torta. I had the Mexican torta on recommendation from the front counter staff. I was ok - nothing special. There was some good taste and I'm sure many people will like this, but for me it wasn't so great, that I have to go back. Also too expensive $11.50 for this ? I can get better deals on food in Vancouver. First and last time.

Tacos and quesadilla, splendid. Salsa so flavourful - Salsa Verde delicious and delightfully picante! I will be back!

Grrrrreat!. Good sized tortas and burritos mean that we can split portions with our kids. The pulled pork, vegetarian and lime marinated chicken are outstanding. Delicious food, friendly service, superb lemonade. One of our favourites!
Tim
Great sandwiches and lemonade,
We also love the tortilla soup but it hasn't been on the last few times.
I do think its a little expensive though as 2 sandwich combos can cost $30 with the extras.
John Smith
Its different.. I like it. its a big, quality sandwich at a good price.

Lekker broodje. I always had just a sandwich for lunch (preferably with cheese) , and this is a nice filling sandwich. the pulled pork is juicy and the flavours are well seasoned. I love the fact that they use the environment friendly cups and bags.

$10 for a not-too-impressive sandwich and $2 for some nasty guacamole? You've got to be kidding me. Anyone who has ever eaten authentic, high quality Mexican cuisine will be disappointed by Las Tortas.
Dicelovesfood
Best sandwich in Vancouver. The fact that it is all Mexican ingredients with delicious meets makes it a very unique sandwich!!
YummyYummyInMyTummy
Pulled pork on thick corn tortilla. Awesome. Fresh and so tasty, very very impressed.

Expensive for what it is. I'm always game to try Mexican food that's not TacoBell typical. I've popped in to Las Tortas a couple of times because it's interesting to have a SANDWICH that's Mexican.

I can't fault Las Tortas for their quality. Fresh veggies plus a mildly spice mix of pickled slaw -- I think I saw some nopalito in it, so extra credit for that -- with your selection of main ingredient, all on bread that's the size of a Portugese bun or Kaiser roll. I had the Oxaquena the last time, which is like a thin chicken-fried steak topped with shredded chorizo and melted cheese. Tasty!

But the sandwich and a plastic cup of iced tea came to $14.50. High price for a moderate amount of food. That might explain why, for all their good flavours, I don't see many people eating there most times when I pass by.

Can't say it's truly authentic Mexican tortas but the sandwiches are amazing .. Maybe even better. Although I think they could do better than potato chips for a side.. Great quick food ..

The portobello tortas is an excellent choice for vegetarians.. Or anyone for that matter! Very juicy, flavorful and filling...

Seriously Tasty!. I really love the authentic flavors in the sandwiches in Las Tortas. I've eaten there a few times and never once been disappointed by the the quality and taste. The prices are a little high yes, but when you consider how filling they are and how lengthy some of the prep must be (pickled onions, slow roasted meats) it's really not that bad. I highly recommend it if you want to try something new in Mexican food!

Good food, but hefty prices. I was finally able to try this place with a friend of mine and it was delicious. The sandwiches look just like the picture on their website. We opted out of having butter and mayo on our sandwiches, because we thought it was a bit too much. However $10 a sandwich is quite expensive.

Nothing fancy. Just good food.. Simple concept. Pick up a paper bag at the door and a crayon to mark what you want. Everything is a 'Torta', essentially a Mexican sandwich. There are veggie and meat options. Add a side or a drink. The fresh fruit water beverages of the day are always refreshing. Sandwiches are made promptly and filling. Perfect place to stop for lunch in Cambie Village.

.... not bad; bread had a nice toast on the top, definitely meaty and cheese helped hold everything together

I found the proportion of the ingredients in Las Tortas’ sandwiches out of sort. There was too much cabbage. The refried beans and guacamole were spread very thinly, which made them hard to detect.

My sandwich was ULTRA spicy, but the rest of the group didn’t seem to be. My lips were tingling!! The salsas had great flavour.

Located on Cambie Street, I had actually never realized Las Tortas was a sandwich joint.

I had Las Tortas’ Lamb Cilantro Burrito with Jarritos Tamarindo. I’ve been to Las Tortas before and love their stuff. This lamb was so fresh, and tasty and it went well with the spices, while cleaning your palate with the cilantro. The vegetables were also a high quality, giving the burrito crunch. The best part was that this burrito wasn’t extremely big, but was of a high quality. I always try to get Jarritos whenever I can. (I tend to purchase this at La Taqueria.) I’ve never had Tamarindo before, and I quite like how it isn’t super sweet but has this full-bodied flavor of the tamarind. 4.5/5 The post Las Tortas appeared first on gastrofork .

Housemade potato chips! wheehee!... It was one of the better sandwiches I've eaten in a while. It also was very messy to eat. I struggled to keep it all together near the end.

Horchatas always remind me of a scene from the short lived comedy Suburgatory. Where Alan Tudyk's character “Noah” is attempting woo his housekeeper Carmen by making assumptions of what she'd like to drink.

Las Tortas - gourmet mexican sandwiches. I liked the the bread: a crisp and chewy sandwich roll...

This rather small establishment caters to both take-out and dine-in customers with 5 small tables. Upon entering we were greeted by the friendly counter person. She asked if we had been there before. When we told her “no”, she explained to us the ordering

For some reason it’s easy to miss even though the sign is huge! It looks like a hole in the wall, but it’s not really. The inside looks quite new and it’s brightly lit and clean. To order: take a brown paper bag (also their menu), select your item and giv

According to their website, a torta is more like a hamburger anyways, and comes served on a soft bun called a telera with tomato, cabbage, pickled onions, jalapenos, guacamole, and refried beans. With that as a starting point you can choose from 11 differ

Since the Canada Line opened (which opening I blogged here), I have meant to visit the Cambie area. For reference purposes, businesses on this street were severely impacted because of its construction and I am hoping it returns to its former glory. So, to

Las Tortas is a Mexican sandwich shop on Cambie. The sandwiches (or tortas) are served on a soft, roundish bread that comes with your choice of deli meats and fixings that pack a wallop of flavour. The dining room itself is a bit cramped, with just a few

Some folks always find a way to debate with me the topic of finding good Mexican food in Vancouver. I'm Mexican, and love traditional Mexican food. But I understand that there are constraints to cooking "real" Mexican food in a city like Vancouver. So I take "the next best" approach. Full disclosure: my Mom's cooking is, in my opinion, the best Mexican food I have ever had. The above said, I have tried numerous Mexican restaurants in our beautiful city. Yet the one that I had not set foot on, despite its closeness to where I live, was Las Tortas (on Cambie Street and almost 17th Avenue). First order of business, the torta is a very traditional Mexican item, but the bun that Las Tortas uses is NOT a bolillo . Very, very close in texture but not a bolillo at the end of the day. So that affects how you perceive the torta. Second order of business: whichever item you order in Vancouver, it's always going to be cheaper in Mexico. That's just a fact. So, knowing this, I ordered a Torta de Ch
