Review Storm Crow Alehouse - Vancouver

I’m gunna miss this place. Where else can you find Jenga chickpea fries and delicious cocktails inspired by the likes of Harry Potter and chemistry labs, not to mention the best bread pudding around? Where else can you select a shot only through the roll of an icosahedral dice, or, similarly, randomly generate a burger with pulled pork and cheese curds in a lettuce wrap? Add some board games and card games while you’re at it. No other place around fills this deserved niche. It’s really a shame it’s coming to an end; I’ve had nothing but good times and delicious food and drinks here. So happy I got to enjoy it one last(?!) time. Also, mildly annoyed that some reviewer here had the audacity to give this place 2 stars, but gave 5 stars for…H-Mart.

I walk past here a lot and I finally got to try it the other night but I wasn’t very impressed unfortunately. The decor and atmosphere is pretty cool but their food was disappointing and their service was okay. Staff was polite, but a little absent minded it seemed. It was a weird experience getting sat and I feel like they weren’t paying much attention to open tables etc. Waiter was patient and polite with us. Came back to take our order for Happy Hour! So that was nice but we waited a long time for our food (30-40 mins for food after we ordered). My fiancé has ordered takeout from here too and he also found the wait for food a little long. The dungeon burger was really fun to create with your friends. The trading card that came with it was neat too! I didn’t think my dungeon “burger” was that impressive and the portions seemed small. The beer I ordered (golden snitch) wasn’t that great as well and seemed to have been poured poorly. Overall the food was disappointing and not what we expected. A cool place to hang out, play games and have snacks but I would not come here for the food.

This was a fun place to check out, the decor and style is quite unique! Had a variety of beer choices so was happy with that. The random shot roll of the dice game is a genius way to get people to order shots. Both me and my friend's shots were tasty. 4 stars because the food was good- nothing too special. Also the service was good but also nothing special.

It is a fantastic place to go...if you like sci- fi movies and shows...place has tons of memorabilia there.....very cool to look at everything....service great, food was good....check it out.

Had an amazing evening as always, even with the removal of board games, still had fun. We got Butter Beer, a Rumian Ale, and then two dungeon burgers which you roll dice to create. The best kind of adventure can be finished off with a little more booze, so feel free to roll the dice some more and get a few random shots.

French fries: Hard 2/5. Cold and tasted like they had been fried yesterday. They called it a basket of fries and it was a meagre bowl (10.50$!). No real taste, would avoid and get anything else on the menu. Crisp: 2/5 Potato density: 3/5 Quantity: 2/5 Salt content: 2/5 Taste: 2/5 Verdict: AVOID! Bonus: it was trivia night and “mooman” was screaming so loudly into the mic that we moved outside. The wait staff was incredible otherwise!

Love this place! Even though they don’t have games at the moment, this is still a super fun and unique experience. I love their drinks! And I would highly suggest rolling the die for their random shots! The staff here are super bubbly and wonderful. The food, depending on what you order, is definitely the delicious kind of comfort food that goes well with a drink or two. Can’t wait to come back here when in person dining is allowed - in the meantime make sure to support these guys 😊

I ordered online this time. The quality of the food was amazing. I preferred it to have more sauce. But, the taste was just perfect. It definitely would be one my favourite burger places. Dine in update: It was way better than I expected! The staff are super friendly and the service is super fast. I really loved this place.

I was very sad to find out last night that they significantly reduced their gluten-free options on the menu. I have been telling my friends about Storm Crow for a while, and it was my go-to place to have a filling, hot, gluten-free meal while surrounded by the nerdy things I love. The Elven veggie burger and fries were my go-to, but I found out that neither are offered gluten-free anymore. I'm sure the other menu items are delicious, as are the drinks, but if you are a celiac person or have any other sensitivities to gluten, I would not recommend this over any other chain restaurant. Thankfully my server was incredibly nice, and showed me some other options.

It was our first time visiting yesterday and we loved it. Drove in from North Delta and it was more than worth the trip. Great food and plenty of beer to choose from. We were greeted with a very warm welcome. At one point we had to wait a bit for beer as a Keg was needing to be changed however we were visited by multiple waitresses to ensure that the beer was on its way and that we had everything we needed. Outstanding service and tips are well deserved. We will definitely come again.

I like the atmosphere and game selection. Food selection was good too! I had the elk and bison burger. It was disappointing. The patty was soooo dry. The first waiter we had was kind of friendly (more like fake friendly). The 2nd waitress we had was rude. She kicked us out because she said we had passed the 3 hour limit. Where was this written? She was rude about it too. When I called her out on her kicking us out, she became friendlier. This happened between 6pm-10pm on Nov 10. Please talk to your staff. She basically were not happy because we were finishing off the food and drinks we got from the previous waiter. This is strike two. Strike one was when my husband and I went there and I asked for chilli flakes. The waitress said that she was not able to get it for me because the chef was busy. It's available in their kitchen, but they were too lazy too make an effort for a customer who spent money there. Wow.

I really love this place, but the food is just ok, and service was slow and a bit pricey for what you get. This visit we had the nachos, and deep-fried pickles and one of my pet peeves are nachos build incorrectly. Just throwing cheese in the middle is a terrible idea, you have to build nachos in layers, so everything gets covered. Also, the chips were kind of burnt. I'm from Florida, and I always try fried pickles when restaurants serve them, and these pickles were a little overcooked but not bad, although why serve with ranch? Ranch is so typical and boring, so I asked for the Sriracha mayo instead which is a better complement to fried pickles. Adding a little garlic and lemon juice to the Sriracha mayo would make the side perfect. In the past, our fav dish was the boba-fettuccini, that's off the menu now : (. In all, I find the menu to be a bit drab, even though they have fun names the meals themselves are just ok. Not a lot of vegetarian options, as usual, my options are salad, sides or a typical veggie burger. Aside from the food, I love the atmosphere and the fact you can play board games. They have a great selection of craft beer, and we adore trivia night. Will come again but just for drinks and appetizers only. The other thing that happened to us is they sat just the 2 of us at a big table and then sat a party of 6 at the same table which was kind of weird. The party told the waiter more people were coming and a person from that party ask us if we could move to the end of the table. I told them no as the end seats were up against a pole and that would be uncomfortable. Then the waitress asks if she could bring us our bill as our food arrived because her shift was almost over and she wanted to close out. We kind of felt like we were getting rushed out.

A very great place to eat delicious food and catch up on geek culture. I love that you can play games with your friends and make a night of it. There are two accessible tables as soon as you come in. They are a bit small, but good for a small gathering. The servers and other guests kept tripping over my chair. The accessible washroom is a bit on the small side. Its great for a manual chair user but a powerchair or scooter wouldn't fit. Plus the chalk bin is up high so I couldn't reach it to draw on the chalkboard walls. The games are not accessible to reach if there are people along the back table. So i you are looking for accessibility this place rates a 5 out of 10. But on food and atmosphere and wait staff it rates a 10 out of 10.

Stormcrow ale house has let me down again. I want to like this place, but they continue to disappoint me. Time and time again. Go there with friends and they get frozen poutine! Go there and get waffle fries and chicken strips (cut up Gordon food service waffles and chicken strips.). Hoth Fudge Sundae?! Not a drop of fudge to be seen (hot or otherwise ). Just overloaded scoops of shitty vanilla ice cream, topped with chocolate chips, skittles, and sprinkles. This place is a ripoff! Don't order any thing but the drink specials.

Very fun atmosphere with lots to look at and a huge selection of games to play. The food was all really great. I had the Buffalo Cauliflower and the dungeon burger (roll the 20 sided die), which ended up being a 'roll up your sleeves' delicious mess. Only reason I deducted a star was because the service was slow.. I will definitely return though!

Food was very basic, 5 of us on the patio, we had the chicken tenders, that were ok , waffle fries were cold, dry and terrible, the fish n chips were very greasy, barely warm and service was terribly slow, 2+ hours and our coffee drinker got 1 cup of coffee during that time and wasn't even offered a refill. Water was promised, never to appear, refills on the beer orders took forever, hence 2 drinks each, again in 2+ hours. Second time dining here, and definitely our last. Out first experience was the same. 1*at best.

I made a birthday reservation for ten people online and I had a few more than that show up, but the staff were super cool about us overflowing onto another table and were very attentive to all our needs. We ordered lots of drinks, they have some really cool drinks that look like witchy potions that bubble and smoke! We also ordered appies and I sampled pretty much everyone's food, and all of it was super yummy. I really liked the buffalo cauliflower and the kale and artichoke dip the most. If you have more than 12 people there is a 18% autograt, which is totally reasonable. I will definitely be back for more!

I absolutely love Stormcrow-- specifically the West Broadway location. I love going with friends and family members and each time has been a wonderful experience. The experience has always been great, and having great servers such as Kat has made the experience even better. Would recommend to all of my friends and colleagues! :)

Heather was our server tonight for my friends bday and she was amazing! She was the first server that explained the experience ... not that it is rocket science but it was awesome and I learned stuff. She was positive, upbeat and attentive. Help make make the night a blast

Great! I was hoping to play time stories which they didn’t have but otherwise a really great spot! Food was good and games were fun. Plus they have a really cool atmosphere, drink menu, and decor! Loved it!

Food is excellent, beer selection's solid (though I really wish they would add the Back Hand of God stout like in the Commercial Storm Crow *nudge nudge*), and the service is always friendly. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options to create a very inclusive menu. The decor and various and ever-growing geek paraphernalia alone is worth a visit. It has that medieval tavern vibe and the random shots you roll for with a d20 are always a hoot and a half. Plus, there are board and card games for when your social skills fail you and the awkward silence draws out too long! It's also a very inclusive, safe space to be your weird, normal selves. Only real cons are that it's always packed on the weekends and it can take forever to get a table for your group on some nights but you can't really blame them for being successful, can you.

Even though busy, the staff are very attentive and the food’s quick and delicious. And it’s nerd heaven.

The management at Stormcrow Broadway is excellent!!! I recommend this bar to anyone, the service is great and I have no complaints. The management and the servers know how to treat the guest well and remember regular faces and are extremely friendly!

We ordered a few beers & snacks. The place has a solid food & drinks menu. Outside seating was nice. Good mix of people & our server was stellar. He even gave me a free pin. Hit it up if you find yourself in Vancouver
