We exited Granville Station and right outside this building we find this food truck and decided to try them out. It is the best tasting shawarma I have ever tasted. I love all the one we ordered. I will be a returning customer everytime I see them for sure. I highly recommend them for you to try.

I really loved the meal I got here! I recommend you try their chicken platter bowl. Try their hot sauce too. I don’t think it’s that spicy, but packs quite a bit of flavour and really elevates your dish. I bought mine near Robison Square and eating there just makes the experience better. Plus, the staff are some of the friendliest folks I’ve met.

Have had their food a few times. My go to is the chicken spicy box, which is what this review is about, which consists of yellow rice with peas and carrots, freshly made fries, chicken shawarma, picked veggies, spicy red sauce, and my favourite, white garlic sauce - all layered in a box. It's a fulfilling and flavourful meal only for under $10! The portion is big enough to make you feel stuffed (that is if you can finish it). The entire menu is halal. Also have had their Philly cheese steak in the past. The best halal cheese steak for under $10 in Vancouver for me! Also, VERY friendly people! Serves with salam and a smiles on their faces. Taste and portions have been consistent for as long as I have been a customer. Price and service considered, 10/10 for me!

We were happy to find this truck right by Pacific Centre as we wanted to grab a quick bite without stopping for a full meal. The Philly cheese steak and the cheeseburger were both beyond delicious. The prices are fair considering the size and quality of the meal. The portions are huge and we couldn’t finish it all right away. Surprisingly, the leftovers tasted great even a few hours later. The server was also friendly and made sure the food was to our liking. If you’re nearby, this food truck is not one too miss!

I ordered beef Sharma, not bad , just it needs more spices , the sandwich is big , the price is good , nice staff .

Ordered a steak wrap, it was good but was hoping for it to be a bit bigger and some more veggies. A good snack after epic rides if you are very hungry

I might prefer it over subway on some good days. It looks and taste fresh. Best part if this small outlet is it's location. Once you leave Burrad station, you can quickly grab one of their delicious wrap or bowl and head to work directly without wasting a lot of your time. Most of the time, it's my go to place when am in Vancouver

Really enjoy the falafel options of Mr Shawarma, they also do the best wraps in the city. This time I tried the platter for something a little different, and was not disappointed

• Inexpensive for a quick bite $7-9; your choice of meat
• Scrumptious goodness, juicy meat, flavourful bursts
• Good and happy service personnel
• big serving, if you are a small eater, I suggest to share

The food truck was in front of the Vancouver gallery. I knew this food truck from an article which talked about some great food trucks. So, I had a high expectation before going there. I ordered “spicy chicken box”, bcz I wanted to have some fries as well. However, the fries were not crispy at all. I felt disappointed. On the other hand, the chicken and rice were good. The spicy level was moderate I think. If I walk by in this area and I would like to have middle eastern food, I might buy some food from the food truck. But if not, I won’t go there again.

Great price $8 for a large lamb rolled pita. The flavour was nice but too much spicy coleslaw was stuffed in and not enough lamb.
More lamb was definitely needed.
But It’s dawned on me recently that more food places are bulking out sandwiches etc with cheap carbs, mayo and “ forgetting” to put the acceptable amount of meat /protein in...
I would have gladly paid an extra few bucks for more lamb but like most food trucks, they are high up and you can’t see what’s going on. So I got what I was given.
It tasted nice but I wouldn’t use the truck again.

Mr. Shawarma is a Vancouver food truck that has been around for several years. For the food service industry, that is a quite a long time! After regularly seeing people come away from their food truck with delicious looking wraps in their hands, I finally decided to give them a try.

I get that they make everything fresh, but holy hell, prepare for a 10-15 minute wait time, perhaps longer during lunch rushes. It's generally very good, but with the amount or orders they get they've never remembered to give me pickled turnips, which you have to ask for on the side, and aren't that good anyway.

After walking around Robson for a few hours shopping, I was feeling peckish. Seeing how dinner was still a few hours away, I was desperately looking around for something to satisfy my munchies. Just when I thought my search was going nowhere, I started smelling a rich meaty aroma amongst the hotdog stands, it lead me to a bright yellow food truck just by the Vancouver Art Gallery. Mr. Shawarma serves pita wraps like the ones from my favourite, World Wrap Place, with a spit equipped inside churning out the delicious meaty offerings.

Great-tasting food that's healthy to eat, made and served quickly. Plus, there's plenty of seating options around the art gallery and Robson Square. I wish the pricing were a bit lower considering this is a food cart - but I suppose it's no higher than any of the other food carts in the area.

Healthy on the go. Love the combo box when you got no time. Garlic sauce and rice is nice. Sometimes they run out of rice at night but it's all good. What's funny is that I notice the owners give more food to the ladies lol. Hey come on now that's a gentlemen. My girlfriend always gets more then me LOL

Falafelly great. Can't resist Mr Shawarma's fresh and crispy falafel balls in their perfectly loaded pita. Pickled turnips and tabbouli both a must. If you want it vegan, specify no mayo. I hate eating standing up but for Mr Shawarma it's worth it!

15 min wait??? This isn't Gotham. They might want to tell people it's going to be 15 mins before they take their money. You are a food truck it's suspossed to be fast. Pass.

Slowest food truck EVER!!! ... but tasty.....!. I thought food truck is kinda like fast food! That's how you get more orders!! It will take you at least 20-30 min to get your wrap! It is very irritating to stand there and watch him being ultra slow. He would stare at those pieces of papers a million times and you still wouldn't get your wrap. BUT the wrap is awesome! Very very tasty!! Order your food and come back 30 min after. Don't wait around!
Joejackson649
Super SLOW!. Chicken shwarma. why does it take 20mins to get a shawarma?!?! Tastes aright, but it fell apart and have to put it on a plate to finish it. I've had them several times and they always take so long to make a wrap.
Noel
Great food!! Hot and flavorful!! I Love the fries in it!!!
No Dessert Im Full
Good option to have around. I don't know if its just me but is it funny to see a poutine option offered here?

The menu is indeed limited, but hey its a food truck, and what more do you need from a Shawarma joint then the stapleShawarma, and a pita wrap/donair thingy.
I did get the chicken pita wrap which was very good and tasty, could've have been a bit bigger unfortunately, it is one of the smallest wraps ive had from a shawarma/donair type place. But the price is truly unbeatable, pita wrap and a can of coke for 8 bucks taxes in? I like, I like.

Loved their chicken donair. Definitely my favourite donair place in town. I go there regularly and found all employees very friendly and welcoming. Their food tastes great, especially the chicken donair. They were very generous with the meat portions for the price you pay for compared to so many places I have visited. Totally recommend this place.

Definitely best shawarma in town!. My wife and I tried Mr. Shawarma ’s chicken wraps and we were very impressed. I could definitely say it’s the best shawarma I’ve had in a long time. The staff were very friendly and the portions were awesome, not to mention the amount of meat they put in. We’re certainly going to look for that food truck next time we’re on Robson!

French fries in a shawarma hahaha extra traditional. whatever - it tastes good.

I'm undecided if I like it here. The service is friendly and fast. The menu is limited in my opinion; from what I see they only have chicken as a protein so essentially its chicken in a shwarma or chicken on a platter. The chicken itself is nice but I have to say I've had better. They do have a nice variety of fixings: lettuce, red cabbage, peppers but that alone doesn't make me go out of my way to go there. Overall it is good, the line for a Saturday night around 730pm was long enough. Good for shwarma chicken lovers.

Messy but Tasty. First off, the server was very helpful when I said I was a first time customer to ordering Shawarma so he walked me through what was best to put in and was not let down.

Got it as takeout and came home to eat and it was kind of messy and I took each bite but that was to be expected given how much stuff was crammed inside.

Would come back to try out a different combination of ingredients for my next Shawarma
I_heart_food
Excellent shawarna. The shawarma here is excellent. Very flavorful. The ingredients are fresh, and the meat is so tasty. Also you get great value for your dollar.

This place is close to my office, tried it once and will never go back. the meat, sause and the veggies are watering in the wrap...

Recommended by over 90% of respondents on Urban Spoon? You've GOT to be kidding me. Either these "recommendations" all came from the restaurant owner or else people who eat here have exceptionally low standards. I took a chance on this place based on the ratings it received, but I wish I had known better. Hopefully this review will save someone else from making the same mistake. I rarely do not eat all of the food that I'm served, but my meal from Mr. Shawarma was so bad that I actually ended up throwing out (and almost throwing UP) most of the meal. It baffles me that places like this can stay in business. Are people in Vancouver really that clueless about food? As I was about to order I noticed a few small flies (fruit flies?) hovering over the various food items behind the counter. I should have followed my instincts and just left at that point, but I decided to give the restaurant a chance. Big mistake. Ordered chicken plate, dolmathes and falafel so I'd get a good representation of what they offer. 1) Falafel was truly disgusting - almost inedible. The server actually microwaved it (if you know anything about falafel you'll know it should never be microwaved) and I ended up throwing it out after one bite. Possibly the worst falafel I have ever eaten. 2) Dolmathes were not horrible - I at least was able to eat these. 3) Hummus - bizarre texture, oddly sweet; thrown out. 4) Chicken - cardboard texture, dry, flavorless. 5) Tabbouleh - mushy tomatoes and lacking bulgur or lemon juice. Not great, but at least was edible. 6) Red cabbage - not fresh. 7) Yellow peppers - apparently were marinated in a concentrated salt solution. I might as well have eaten a salt packet. If you know ANYTHING about good food and end up eating at Mr. Shawarma don't say you were never warned...

Worth it. Looking for a good, relatively inexpensive restaurant in Kits or Point Grey? This is your place...good food, quick service and good bargain. Only downside is the plastic ware but not a big deterrent.

Best turnip pickles EVER!!! Fresh and fast food! Love this place!

Shawarma. I'm just glad that I don't have to go downtown for a good shawarma! They only have chicken, which doesn't bother me, but plenty of accompaniments to choose from. I usually have the pita but the sharwarma platter is good too and pretty large so it's good for sharing.

Good food at a cheap price. Really good food, nice service. Liked the salads cuz they were fresh and tasty.

Where's the meat?. The Shawarma was typical of what's offered in Vancouver although moister. I had what was generously referred to as the "Shawarma platter". A reasonable amount of salad, a huge amount of rice and a ration of chicken. Maybe they have an extra meat option - It wasn't listed and I didn't ask.

Note: Mr. Awadallah the owner of MS contacted me to say that although they are not going to make a change to the menu, any customer wishing to have freshly sliced or extra meat need only to ask and they will oblige at no extra charge. I will give the place another try at some point.

Note to the note - second visit:

Upon request I was given fresh sliced meat. Double meat was $2 extra. Still not impressed.

Another Contender. Yeah, this place is right up there with the best Falafels in town. All made in house, tons of toppings, friendly staff, nice clean place, fast and inexpensive. Don't let the name scare you off, this place is the real deal.

We tried this place for the first time today and weren't disappointed. The menu had a good selection and the prices were very reasonable. My shawarma and a drink were $5.99. The food tasted great, my only criticism would be to have the choice of a small or large wrap. It was so good that I wanted more! Would definitely recommend!

...ordered chicken shawarma box with hot chili sauce. The spicy kicks had some decent depth. I enjoyed the rice, which was cooked perfectly.

Juicy Good Chicken Shawarma Pita Wrap w Mr. Shawarma garlic sauce, diced cucumbers, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, chopped parsley, Mr. Shawarma Tahini sauce, fries - 2+

The fries in it was quite unique, I liked it. The chicken was nice and juicy and the salad mix was surprisingly a good combination. It’s definitely one of the better deals for not only the Shawarmas out there but also the food trucks. Mandycandy was doubtful at first with the size of the Shawarma, but it ended up filling us both up perfectly.

I’ve probably passed this food truck like a billion times when coming out of Burrard, so there’s no excuse for why I waited until now to try it! They’ve basically your usual fare, with Shawarma wraps and meal boxes (those looked HUGE). I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Wrap (6.50 including tax). It was by no means Donair Due sized, but you know what, it was plenty filling!

There were only two items on the menu so it was a simple decision – chicken shawarma or falafel.

First of all, the pita tasted like a supermarket pita. I don’t dislike supermarket pitas, so I actually thought that the pita was quite alright. The chicken-dominated filling was certainly filling enough. The good-sized shawarma eradicated all of the lunchtime hunger I had for the day. The chicken was lukewarm and had kind of a dry texture. The dry texture was partially offset by the creamy, garlicky, and spicy sauce. They included enough sauce so that it totally covered every single ingredient of the filling. The sauce was flavourful and enjoyable for the most part, but it also contributed what I felt was an overall slightly, unsettling cool temperature (for the current weather) of the wrap. Even though I would’ve liked it if the shawarma was warmer, the cool shawarma was acceptable enough that I didn’t feel like I had to work hard to finish its substantial portion size.
FOOD FOR BUDDHA
The friendly guy was nice enough to let me take a few pictures, however, he warned me to do so quickly since his boss is picky and doesn't really like it when people take pictures of the store...so I managed to snap a few quick shots.
VanFoodies
Ranging from $5.50 to $7.50, I thought the pita wraps are a good option for lunch, and quite affordable for food trucks. The boxes are still reasonably priced at $7-$9 depending on the protein. Given it’s so close to work, I would come back again and try its chicken or falafel options.
