Review Blarney Stone - Vancouver

Veloboy 1910
Very nice happy hours. Every day of the week, with a different offer. They also have an original selection of merchandise. The Bangers with Mash didn't knock me off my feet, but the fish and chips were quite good.

A reliably great bar! Live music is excellent, always with amazing set lists. Great venue for dancing, nice staff, and fun atmosphere. A wide range of ages makes it super welcoming. Always a go-to!

Classic downtown Vancouver destination. Despite that, we haven’t been in a long time, and it did not disappoint. Poutine was great, as was the West coast salad. If you like gin, you’ll enjoy the Bramble cocktail. We’ll be back soon!

We popped in for a pint after my husband's barber appointment around the corner. I was pleasantly surprised that they had black current to go with my Guinness, I can't always find it. After a 2nd thought i decided to add it to a crown float instead of straight Guinness. The 4 stars is only due to the fact there were no amber ales, just alot of IPAs, a bit better selection & it'd be 5 all day long. Cheers!

My boyfriend and I have about 40 years experience in hospitality between the two of us, and last night we decided to stop and have a night cap after dinner. Both of us have never experienced a worst bartender in our entire lives. He was so incredibly rude, we literally ordered one drink each and decided to leave - the moment we walked in it’s like the bartender made us feel bad for existing. It was the weirdest experience of my life. This is my first time writing a review ever, but it felt necessary. I understand having bad days…especially after working in hospitality these last two years but, this was just weird.

Great lunch! The atmosphere was perfect, the food delicious with generous portions. The service was great, as was the beer selection. We'd definitely eat here again.

Food tasted bland, but this is a place to enjoy sports and loud crowds with friends. Expect slow service due to high volume of customers.

I had a blast, I want on Friday night, the band adapted songs to Irish style kids sound, the hay my favorite IPA beer. No complaints are all.

First time being there tonight and it was awesome! Super friendly staff who go above and beyond, accompanied by a killer DJ and great live band memorable night highly recommend !

Not a bad place in a good location. Stopped by for a quick lunch, service was good but the food was a bit lacklustre, probably worth a second visit to be sure

We stumbled upon The Blarney Stone on recommendation of a friend. I have to say they have great food (chicken club is amazing, rosemary aioli made it). The Sheets were performing and they were awesome. Great energy in the pub and service was great. Thanks for being one of the highlights of our trip to Vancouver.

Just visited Blarney Stone for some happy hour drinks, and was extremely satisfied with the quality of service that was provided. Our server Brooke was very helpful and went above and beyond her duties to ensure that we were looked after. Highly recommend you come to Blarney Stone for your next happy hour!!

Fab place,..friendly staff, good beer, excellent live music,...what more do what,..love the place

Decent environment and good food and and drink but have been 3 times and often found the staff to be rather unwelcoming. Just had a very rude server who pretty much ruined our night by confusing the split of our bill and making things very difficult. Will definitely try to avoid this place in the future.

Great food, great atmosphere, great staff. I stayed in the area for a week Sam was particularly great. Highly recommend it.

Not sure what to say. We arrived, place was packed, great atmosphere but for the life of us we could not get a server. Each one we asked said they did not serve this table. Took 40 minutes just to get a drink. Hopefully they will work it out. Will give one more try

We walked in just for one drink. But, we decided to stay for awhile. Because, of the great service we got from an awesome, good looking bartender and the vibe was great. And the band that night was fun too! We will definitely go back to this place when we visit again!

Great place to drink beer. Sabina had sparkling wine and Guinness. Roddy has cider and Guinness

Good service.......fun times and a great band...........well actually all three bands were good but I will give extra marks to Paddy Waggin

Tried their poutine with a roast beef topping. This for only 11cad,which I find a very fair price. I tried it & really loved it! To me it was even better than all the poutine I had in Quebec on my last trip to Canada. I will definitely recommend this to all my friends at home!

Great place staff are very friendly. Watched the Jets game with one of the staff.

I've had the pleasure of DJing at Blarney for their resident DJ Zeus. Such a great venue, great staff, and live bands. This venue is always packed and just all around great vibes! :)

I have been to several bars in Vancouver and this place was the worst experience i have ever had. I went to Blarney Stone with my girlfriends and one of our friends joined us later but she had forgotten to bring her picture Id. The bouncer didn't let her in, which is fair enough, but he was being rude to all of us and when i spoke to him to just say that he could have been a little polite and there was no reason to yell at us, he got even more angry and grabbed my hand and tried to push me out and asked all of us to leave. The place was good until he ruined our night by his unnecessary rude and violent behaviour which lwd to all of us leaving from there.

A sexist, violent and abusive staff who is used to impose a racist behavior towards clients

You would imagine that going out to an Irish pub in Vancouver would be something that you and your girlfriend would enjoy. You would also imagine that after paying a C$78 bill you would, at least, be respected as any other person should be. Not in the Blarney Stone though. This place is not only using an illegal conduct towards clients, but it is also damaging the reputation of Vancouver´s historic Gastown District.

Last night, right after selling us drinks, a young and angry bouncer told everyone to leave the place since doors close at 2am. Fair enough. We asked if we could finish the drinks they just sold us but the bouncer grabbed my girlfriend ́s glass and poured her drink on the floor. We began walking out and the two bouncers started pushing us. My girlfriend told one of them “You understand you are touching me and being abusive, right?”. He replied “Yeah, but you have to go anyway”. She said, “I will leave, just please don't touch me”. Then they grabbed her by her arms and waist and violently pushed her out of the door.

When we asked to talk to the manager one of the bouncers used racist language towards me, then both of them punched me and ripped my shirt, even though I was out in the street and down on the ground without fighting back.

We have everything on camera. Videos and photos. Charges will be put against these violent people. Do not support this treatment by going to this pub. It has already been reviewed many times as disrespectful to women, rude, violent and horrible customer service. If you can ́t keep your sh*t together, you shouldn't be in this job at all...

We were stunned and amazed after seeing such a beautiful ambience of this place.
The food was really tasty and mouth watering.
The staff was very supportive for us

First time trying this place i ordered the Cajun Chicken Burger with tossed salad instead of fries(carbs) the burger was delicious i was hoping it was a tad more spicy the salad was incredible with a lemon base dressing (a gallon with a straw to go) yes it was that good the service was very efficient and attentive with a :-) i will be coming back for future meal,i would highly recommend this place 5⭐️

Nothing beats hitting a pub up with some coworkers for some after work grub and…trivia night? Awww yea! . I ordered the Blarney Burger (13.00). The fries were crispy and lightly salted…kind of like a fatter version of McDonald’s fries. The coleslaw was very tasty, not too creamy and had some sweetness from the raisins! The burger patty was juicy and lightly seasoned but I found the bun to be a bit on the soft side, in that it partially disintegrated upon eating the burger.

This is a great pub with solid lunch options. Service is friendly and fast and the food is good value and very tasty. I recently enjoyed the bangers and mash and the colcannon was fantastic (creamy and buttery), the sausages were so flavourful and generous and the gravy was a great compliment (and I normally stay away from gravy for being too heavy). Highly recommend for after work drinks and atmosphere as well.

I might be biased because I'm a regular but this bar is top notch in my opinion, the food is excellent and it has a friendly atmosphere that is worth going out of your way to check out.

I had supper this evening at the Blarney Stone.
It's a big pub ... they have lots of room in the back and upstairs. But everyone was sitting in the front, near the open windows and at the bar. I sat at a table on the patio. Other than a couple people stopping to ask for spare change, it was a nice spot to be. I ordered Roasted Garlic Hummus and Chips and Chicken Wings with Honey Garlic sauce. Both were delicious. The honey garlic sauce had a bit of a bite, which I liked. Sarah was my server. She was friendly and took good care of me.

Bad service, and moderate-to-high prices are the cornerstones of this establishment. And what's up with the bar staff being so confused about which glasses are appropriate for serving beer?!

Although the ambiance of the place was great being with friends and having the merriment with drinks and laughter, I have to say that the food was quite disappointing and mediocre in the taste buds. My bf and I had ordered fish and chips and the Parmesan truffle fries. As soon as the plate came, how it was presented on the plate was exceptionally okay..both pieces of the battered fish looked burnt and I was hoping that I was wrong. As soon as I took a bite of the fish, all I could taste was batter. I would say that the battered fish was a good size probably as big as my hand but the fish inside was as small as my pinky. We both barely tasted the fish.

Again, I would only come back with friends who wants to enjoy the highs of the music and spirits and that's pretty much it. I will give credit to the staff for sure for their speedy service! They get 2 thumbs up from me!

Over charged by bar men. Rip off. Will never go back. Thieves.

Not your average pub!!. My fiance and I rented out a loft above the restaurant for a week. (excellent rental, modern, stylish and newly renovated). We decided to stop at the pub downstairs for a drinks and snacks. AND WoW! After trying the $2 sliders/ deal(tues) and macaroni n cheese sticks, we wanted to keep coming back to see if everything on the menu was that good. And the answer was YES! Even the sliders were so mouth watering tasty and deliscious.
The next day I tried the ALL-IN Burger!!! was fantastic! Bring your appetite for that one ;) pizza = Amazing. I'm from a small city which has the the best pizza (One of our pizza places won a world championship in Las Vegas to prove our arrogance) and to have my blessing on the Pizza while traveling, is very rare. I'm often disappointed eating pizza outside of my home city.
Also had Cajun Chicken Quesadilla, Eggs benny and Pot Pies. EVERYTHING on the menu is awesome!. I have to say we were very impressed! We expected normal pub food and instead got gourmet meals for the price of pub food. Excellent Value!
There was a daily $5 pints :D and my fiance enjoyed her local wine selections.
We also went there on Saturday night and had a great time listening to the resident band and dancing. Definitely a happening place. Next time we visit Vancouver we definitely will be back to the Blarney Stone! Also enjoyed my last evening hanging out with old friends and playing pool.

Fun bar to party but our lunch service was horrible

Thanks for nothing, Blarney Stone. So I go to the Gastown BBQ and Chili festival which is hosted by Blarney Stone. It's from 1pm to 8pm, so down I go at 6pm, pay for parking, ready to eat dinner. Yum! We get there and... it's all over. I ask one of the people putting stuff away where all the BBQ food is and he tells me it finished a little while ago. It's still only 6pm and it finished a while ago, even though it's advertised as going until 8pm. So that's annoying. What a waste of time. If the BBQ festival is not from 1 to 8, then please don't advertise that it is.

One saving grace: Bangers and Mash. A pub is a pub, you know what I mean? You don't go there for the ambience, great service or the food-because if you are looking for those things you'd be in a restaurant or bistro. That being said--if find yourself at the Blarney Stone for drinks and the open patio and you're getting hungry: try the Bangers in Mash.

Two sausages on a mountain of mashed potatoes with onion gravy. Sausages nicely browned, mashed potatoes that are fluffy and carmelized onions in a lovely brown gravy. All the right textures --no weird aftertastes of processed food.

The Blarney Stone has great atmosphere and service is generally very good, some food items are very tasty but some other items were not good but a great pub to watch sports in.

I recommend the Pie that the Sheppards eat!. Was strolling Gastown on a Saturday night and came across this Pub/bar and 20 something hangout.
Entered and realized they had a $12 cover charge, the manager waived the cover as I explained that I wanted to eat and would be on my way well before the entertainment took the stage.
I sat at the bar and ordered the Sheppard's Pie on the bartenders recommendation. The young manager was really welcoming and came by to chat twice during the hour I was there.
I would recommend the Sheppard's Pie!!
Daniel Grandja
Not sure what everyone is complaining about, had the Shepard's pie and it was simply amazing, have also had other Irish items off the menu which were equally as good, this is one of my favorite spots in Vancouver to go to... good food, fun music and enjoyable atmosphere... just keep in mind its not a quiet pub... if ur coming here ur coming for a fun rowdy night out :)

Pub Yum. I had dinner at the Blarney Stone the other night. I haven't been there in years. It looked a lot cleaner and more polished than I remember. I also wouldn't have known they serve food if we hadn't seen the menu board while we were strolling by. We were just looking for a quick bite and were pleasantly surprised with our experience. I had the Chicken Penne with Marinara sauce and my partner had a salad with goat's cheese, craisins and almonds. The marinara sauce was better than anything we had at Trattoria the week before, and while the salad had a little too much iceberg in the mix, it was well done also. Great dressing. I will definitely go back to the Blarney Stone to try something else.

#1 Worst Meal in Vancouver. It's hard to find bad food in Vancouver, but the Blarney Stone's fish tacos is the winner of the dubious title. It was so bad it should not be on the menu. The fish was tasteless, there was no sauce so it was dry....I used my salad dressing to make it moist enough to swallow. And what's more they didn't use any salt or seasoning on the fish so it was a completely tasteless brown mass on my plate - no salad or greenery. Just awful. I'll never eat there again despite that I've had reasonable food there in the past.

Bar food. The menu sounds good but its hit and miss. I was there for new years and the food was good(not great) and was there for Eat Vancouver and did not like anything that I had. It's too bad because I would love to go to a nice pub and have a great shepards pie but last time i was there it was insanely over salty and not that great. If you have had a little to drink I think the food would suit you just fine though!

Good Spicy wings, pretty and Nice staff, good ambience. A real pub.

Stumbling out of a movie at Tinsel Town hungry, we walked downtown for a quick bite and a pint. We travelled past the lone public washroom stall of Hastings; and past the Gastown clock as it blew smoke and chimed for 9pm. We could not find that perfect place to eat. So we ended our journey at the "Blarney Stone", a classic pub done with a greater emphasis on its Irish tendencies. I have not been back here since Halloween pub crawl 2006. But now was lured in by the prospect of $4 pints of Bud. (Context, it is my BFF's favourite brand of beer. And I can't tell you why.) Walking in on a Wednesday evening we had our pick of the place. We scurried past the bar hosting only lone, older men. But found a need to stop and gawk over, what had to be the largest projector screen I have ever seen. It was pulled down, over the stage and band equipment. On it, the Boston verses Pittsburg playoff game. We did not pay any attention to it, despite taking a seat adjacent. It's Canucks or nothing. We also

It was NotFauna's welcome back/ Birthday celebration. She chose Blarney Stone for a good fun meal before heading out to Fortune Sound Club a few blocks away. CanuckGirl and I arrived early since she wanted to see a few players being drafted into the Canucks…sadly none of the TVs were showing that and when we asked them to about changing the channel, but they couldn't do it. As we waited for everyone to arrive, we watched a TV promoting the Blarney Stone. The place was quite full around 6:30, so it was a good idea we got reservations for the large group. The service was pretty bad from the beginning; it was hard to find anyone to help us find NotFauna's reserved section since there were several reservations for the night. They didn't even reserve the right amount of seats that was requested. When CanuckGirl and I sat down, the waitress didn't offer us a menu to start looking. After more people arrived, the waitress finally gave us menus. The menu was not bad at all. Lots of choices be
