Review Moxies - Vancouver

The food was great! I highly recommend the feta and tomato dish. The beyond burger, caesar salad, and truffle fries were absolutely perfect as well. Unfortunately, the service was pretty slow, even though there were only 2-3 other groups of people in the restaurant. Luckily, we weren’t in a rush, so it didn’t obstruct us from still having a good experience.

Adam was an amazing waiter. Never without a drink in our hand, food in front of us and he was never without a smile on his face. The drinks are of incredible quality, food was epic in both volume and taste. Can’t recommend enough.

Very nice bar, clean, updated, super friendly service, delicious drinks and decent food (calamari were a tad dry, but rest of food good). Open later on weekends. Plenty of booth seating, clean washrooms. All in all, very nice experience. Convenient location right on Davie St. Paid street parking on Davie, some free parking on nearby streets. They have happy hour from 2-5 pm and another one 9-11 pm.

My first time visiting Vancouver I had my first meal (dinner) at this location. Service was excellent, i cant remember my servers name but he had some sort of Irish accent..he was great! Until next time, thanks for a memorable time.

We came in as a large group for a work meal. Our server Adam was really great, super kind, understanding and incredibly accommodating. Serving a group of around 20 people can be difficult and mistakes can happen, Adam was very level headed and calm, it really set the tone for our meal. Everything was perfect and the food was amazing and the drinks were phenomenal. The staff was helpful and took a group photo for us. We will definitely be hosting another event at Moxies!

Rina (aka best bartender ever) was amazing! She was so personable & kind, & super knowledgeable about both the food & drink menu. I would come back just for her company, what an asset to your Moxie’s Team. Give her a raise!

We just finished having a terrific dinner at Moxies. Had the Tofu lettuce wraps and Beef Vindaloo - both were delicious with generous portions. The menu for food and drinks is very large with a great variety of possible choices. The service was particularly good. Akash our server was very friendly and attentive. Always checking on us and knowledgeable about the menu and what to order. Definitely a good experience all around.

Best fries I’ve eaten in Vancouver so far! Great natchos as well and excellent service by Adam!

I had been trying everywhere for over a week to find a table for 30 for my birthday, and out of the 12+ restaurants I called, Moxie's on Davie was the only restaurant happy to reserve us a space. The service was beyond what I could have hoped for. All my friends constantly commented on how well I was treated and I really did feel that way. The manager, Andi, started off the night by offering me a complimentary bottle of wine, and she, as well as the staff, were so welcoming and thanked us for being there even though it was me who was really thankful that they took such a large group which such little notice. Our server was extremely attentive and hospitable, and maintained our group so well even though we were a little all over the place. The only tiny slip up was with my meal (the soy protein was forgotten) and I just expected them to bring it on the side but instead they brought me a completely newly made meal and complimentary fries while I waited which was above and beyond necessary. (The mistake with my meal wasn't even that big of a problem!) Everyone was just so kind and really made the night memorable for me and all my friends. Definitely the best birthday dinner I've had and will come back here every year. Highly recommend this restaurant for groups and any events, the staff and manager really make it special. Thanks so much again to Andi and the team!! 10/10

Wow. Moxies on the West is very different than Moxies in Ontario. The service was slow, hapless and I sat at one point stay waiting upwards of 20 mins for a beer refill while the bartender and other staff stood around. A male bartender/waiter working during my stay finished his shift, proceeded to hang out at the bar in front of me and actually grabbed two of his fellow females servers' breasts while they stopped at his beckoning. All the while I still waited for someone to acknowledge my table. And still nothing. However, the staff at the bar continued tor receive their drinks in a very timely fashion. Almost every single server walked by my table without checking that my glass was empty. And then finally a server came by and after I asked for my bill and said i wasn't happy with the service a Manager appeared. After I shared my story she comped my bill but I actually would have rather paid for it and not tipped. Nor did she remove the objectionable employee. I left instead. Brutal. Just brutal. I wont be back again at that location and it will be a while before I give another location a shot. Not close to the standards of Moxies I know from back East.

What a difference than a year ago.....under new management, the service has improved so much.....Andi, one of the new manager, is so attentive and service oriented, high praise for her service and management.....the food (the grilled ahi tuna salad is to die for) is amazing and done to your request...and all the servers Suma (new), Josh and bartender(Cory) are extremely well trainned and professional.....I highly recommend people to give it a try when in the downtown/village area. Thanks again Andi for treating me like a 'King' :-)

This is the best Moxies around. I’m a bit biased as it’s been my watering hole for a minute, but the staff (Tash, Cory, Anna, etc.) are incredible! Definitely check it out, you won’t be disappointed, I promise.

Food was good despite the waiter forgot I wanted bacon and cheese on my burger. Service could be better. Brought me an ice tea when I wanted a beer. Nothing but bad luck at restaurants on Davie Street for me and my wife.

Ordered the Street Tacos and found them very dry. When I commented to the server she said something to the effect that she knows they're dry cause bean curd is on the pulled chicken. So I suggested perhaps they put a sauce on it to improve them

Love this place the renos are awesome Friendly helpful staff good eats Great place for brunch lunch or dinner with friends

Food was very good, music is too loud, you can barely hear when trying to talk with your friends, A/C at its full, people at the next table asked to be moved to another one because it was like a blizzard coming out of the vent. Service was also good. I would give it 4 stars but there's no beer option on the happy hour menu just cocktails 😏

The first draft beer was warm. I talked to the waitress Jordan. She apologized and brought a cold one right away. Great service!

Had Lemon and Herb Salmon with Roasted Baby Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables. The filet of Salmon was only 1cm thick; I received about 4 baby potatoes with one lonely floret of broccoli sitting on top, which was I suppose the "seasonal vegetable". All for $26. This was a very over-priced meal. Do not recommend.

I can not express how amazing this place is the steak is a must!! The wait staff are amazing and the drink I had peach Bellini...

Best food, best service.... best bar tender.... Corey..... get back to gym! Lol....

The pulled chicken on the nachos was a sloppy mess, there was barely any cheese and the table often smelled like the men’s restroom. The waitress had no interest in hosting our table. Will not be recommending to any friends in the future

This restaurant was fabulous. The food, atmosphere and staff were excellent. This restaurant has plenty of space and the acoustics were perfect therefore able to talk to each other event with the restaurant full of patrons.

Teacher Who Loves Food
Terrible service, which is unfortunate because the food was really good. One dish was brought out in a reasonable amount of time, but the second was clearly forgotten about. Once the server realized we were missing a meal, she went to check, came back said that it would be 2 minutes. 15 minutes later the dish finally came. No apology from anyone, not even from the server when she finally brought the meal out. Surprised that the shift leader didn't come by as we sat with one meal on our table untouched, I guess something normal for her to see? Will not be returning.

Sadly, this location is open for breakfast on Saturdays.
The table we sat at had grease stains. The server asked all the right questions, performed none of the right actions.
I haven't seen eggs that greasy ever. The cook (lol waitress referred to it as a chef..not likely) must have used 2 or 3 laddles of grease to poach the fried eggs. Total truck stop food.
Great location in the Sandman hotel on Davie street in downtown Vancouver close to everything. Staff is nice and food is always fresh and amazing!

Complete Joke..... Made the mistake of coming here for breakfast on the weekend a while back....It was early enough but a lot of tables were uncleared. Food is overpriced. My friend ordered a breakfast and wanted a pancake on the side - server said "sure, no problem"....what was delivered was one pancake....plain....Fine. Got the bill - and the single pancake was $8.00!! Are you serious? For one bare pancake? What a joke!! Shame on you, Moxies...
Will never be back - ripped me off once, but not twice.

Went for brunch and asked for some fruit instead of the rosti potato. They gave me a tiny plate with some fruit that looked as if it had been in a window display for a week. The waiter then informed me that the chef told him that this was not something that they would do again and that you can not ask to substitute the potatoes. I sent the nasty little fruit plate back to the chef with my compliments. Can you even call yourself a chef if you cook at Moxies? No big wonder that we were one of only two tables on a sunny Saturday morning at 11:00 am. Will never go back there again!

Frequent Customer. I go to Moxie Davie Street 3-4 times per month. It is excellent value for money and best of all the staff and service are always top notch. Menu is diverse and fits most tastes. Great place to go to with a group of friends who have varying tastes and preferences. I picked it for my 50th birthday party and another Moxies for an office Christmas party.

Excellent food and service. Exceptional food and service. Must try's include the tuna tataki, sushi cones, pizzas and gluten free salted caramel cheesecake!
HungryLikeTheWolf
The place is pretty nice the food's good the waitresses are gorgeous but still don't understand why they need to rip people off for 2 ounces of beer? That's right, rip you off! There beer is the same price as a sleeve or even if you're lucky a pint anywhere else. But at Moxies they feel they can charge more for less!!! Very Sad!!! If I ever go here again I won't be drinking alcohol!

GREAT DINNER. It was easy on the eyes, easy on the stomach and not too hard on the wallet wasn't comped meal.
Burger wine ice cream cake love ya blondie J

Great service by waitress in exciting beautiful short dress. This is indeed a treasure in Vancouver. First and foremost. Great steaks cooked to order. Plain and simple. Great service. Went on a Sunday evening about 5:30. Not crowded. Waitress was so good I would order bread if she asked me too (lucky she suggested wine) . She showed attention to detail. Small salad but fresh, cold, and good. Would have lliked location closer but this will be a revisit

The food was just ok. prefer milestone's or cactus club anyday. nothing to write home about.

We Know. We know why men like to come here but I do not mind. Really. I know the women are attractive and cute. It is fine you can look. Food was good. The cocktail had good amount of alcohol and yes the staff is attractive. Busy but service is nice anyway. We will go back I am sure. I know he wants us to lol

Blonde waitress is a winner. The tall blonde waitress is not bad at all. She's got spunk and attitude and is a complete delight to anyone who is not completely dead. I love this place, it's one of my favourite to go for a meal with friends and drinks. Chain is awesome, also. The girl didnt mind our asking her for a numnber and brought over some menus and ha a waitress take our order and bring us food for free. Lovely. Wont be visiting with my wife trust me.

Worst Breakfast in Vancouver. We've been staying at the Sandman and breakfast is included at Moxie's. 5 days without fail the breakfast has been lousy. Cold congealed over-cooked bacon, raw/cold hash browns, greasy cold eggs.
Sent back or left every day. Complained to staff and manager. Today breakfast was replaced with Sicilian sausage hash which contained two slices (Yes slices not whole sausages) of sausage mixed in with cold hash.
Its really bad and they don't seem to be bothered about putting it right.
Is it any wonder this place is empty when other places on Davie are full.
Disgusting food. I won't be eating here again. We were not the only customers complaining and they also hadn't had it put right.
Can't believe that businesses who treat customers like this are still in business.
Rather Be In Darmstadt
The ambience is nice, though the trampy wait staff outfits aren't what I'd call kid friendly. The steak I ordered was over-cooked, but they did comp the whole meal in exchange. Try somewhere else for the money you're paying.

Moxie's on davie. BAD it's all bad. The food just sucks and most of the staff are so damn slow, I would NEVER go back, I would rather give my money to mcdonalds, and how do u run a bar in the middle of the Gay village where 75% of your customers are gay men and u have all woman on the bar. Like REALLY moxie's get your #%*+ together and get a GM in there that know's how to run the place....... Boycott moxie's on davie

Excellent Restaurant - is the chain this good. The food was tasty with a great price to boot. I love the final option, the spicy pasta and the wine the gorgeous waitress suggested. The drinks are pretty good, I would suggest the sangria if your feeling like letting loose. Men can have wine or scotch.
The kitchen was a little slow at time but mainly because it is such a busy place. this just means more time to to have another drink and check out the beauts.
I would recommend this place to anyone that is traveling to Vancouver or is in the area. Just watch yourself if your with wife/gf.

Food just ok, bad service by waitresses in sleazy black dresses. The title just about sums it up. I just went in for an appetizer and a glass of wine, so I can't say too much about the food. I had crab cakes which were decent but a little bit overcooked. I had a nice local Chardonnay from Okanagan. But the service was not good - waited a long time for my order to be taken and the waitress was inexperienced and couldn't tell me much about the menu. I think the restaurant would do better to not base their hiring decisions on who looks best in a very tight low cut minidress.

I absolutely love this place. The service is top notch and they always get the best tip from me. For a chain restaurant, the food is way yummy and generous. It is the best of its kind in Vancouver that I know of. Just this location though - other locations don't stack up well. I come here often - almost every month - and have yet to leave unhappy. Love the Bellini, the salad, and the brownie! And just as important, service!

50/50. I love the ambiance and the drinks, but I'm not a fan of the food at all. I had one of their hearty winter soups which was overwhelmingly creamy and there were some hard bits of asparagus shaved in it. Belinis are always awesome though

Ordered calamari, salt pepper wings and brochetta. The appys were good. Ordered almond crusted salmon, and found the salmon to be dry. Service was good and price was comparable nice atmosphere.

Experience Overall!. We had dinner tonight at Moxie's and well not worthy of a blog post, it was what we expected - Average!

Watch out for extra gratuity!. In the WINTER olympics time, there will be an extra 17% gratuity added to your bill. BE AWARE that for locals and Americans, that will be the case for the winter olympics. THEY WON'T TELL YOU THIS. Even though they will say it's "circled" on your bill. Please don't over TIP THEM! THEY DON'T DESERVE IT!!

Really?!?. This is easily one of the worst places to eat on Davie Street. From the ambience to the food, it was just bad. Upon arrival the decor was quite nice...in the lobby of the hotel. We didn't know whether to seat ourselves or wait because there was no one present at the door. We waited around 4-5 minutes before someone appeared at the desk and asked if they could help. As we were taken through the restaurant to our table, we noticed that the music was very loud, and that it was quite dark. We couldn't communicate very well with each other due to the volume of the techno beat being played, and we had to hold the light towards our menu's so we could read them! Our drink order took 10minutes to receive and our food came to our table, and it was totaly wrong. I had one of their hamburgers. For $15 I was expecting something pretty spectacular...it was...spectacularly bad! It was over cooked, over spiced and small. I'm guessing the burger was so heavily spiced to hide the taste of the filler in it. It's one of the few times I have sent food back. I would say that maybe I caught them on a bad day, but, this is my second time eating at Moxie's and it was almost as bad the first time, promptingthis review.

With all the fantastic places to eat on Davie Street, this is one to pass by. You need to serve better quality food for the price your charging Moxie. You should also decide if your a night club, or, a restaurant.
Gotta Eat
Pretty good, nothing special. We liked the food here, but the location wasn't very appealing. There were a lot construction near by so the ambiance wasn't great.

With sour brownies for dessert, it sure makes me wonder what the rest of the actual food is like on the menu. Despite the notoriety of the white chocolate brownie, I’m sure people do actually order food items at Moxie’s but the question is, would I return to try them out?
Eating With Kirby
The prime rib was tender and juicy while the melted cheese coated everything with creamy goodness. It was a messy comforting sandwich that I'd order again.

Mich and I were walking along Davie when we noticed a sign on the sidewalk in front of Moxie's that said "$2.99 margaritas!" We got really excited and decided to go in for margaritas and dessert. I got the raspberry kiwi crush margarita which looked really pretty with layers of red, white and green. For dessert, I wanted to get the white chocolate brownie ($6.99) but was worried that it would be too sweet. Whenever I see "white chocolate" in a dessert or drink, I usually associate it with a sickening sweetness. The waitress assured me that I would like it, and she was right. The brownie contained small chunks of chocolate and white chocolate inside, and was served slightly warm with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. It wasn't too sweet at all, which was quite surprising to me. In fact, it was the least sweet brownie I have ever tasted, yet it was still very rich and delicious. I should have ordered the bite of brownie (mini version) though, because I only managed

I keep thinking I'll grow up. One day, I just may entirely lose my sense of humour and playfulness and do that. I just hope it's not anyday soon. After only 6 hours of sleep, I woke up at 8am on a Sunday to stand in line at a bar so that we could have sea

I don't know if it was me, or if it was just daytime. I hadn't been to a Moxie's in a while, and I think I've only gone at night, but the presentation on the food just didn't look as nice as I remembered. Who knows, maybe it might have just been this location, I'll have to give them another try sometime to make sure. I ordered the Sirloin Steak Salad, something I knew tasted good before. It seemed different in many ways. First, there was a lot more food on the plate than I remembered, which is a good thing when the food tastes good. And it did, but there was something else different about it and I still can't quite place it. It just didn't look as appetizing as I remembered. Maybe it was the choice of greens, or maybe it was just the lighting. The sirloin steak was cooked just the way I like it - bloody rare, it came with the goat cheese, and the same dressing as I remembered.....no corn bread. I could swear it used to come with cornbread that tasted like banana bread. Anyway, it still
La Petite Vancouver
Moxie's Classic Grill I like the interior as it gives me a feel of contemporary western food restaurant. The Greek Salad Steak Wrap is really delicious, the steak is tender, simply lovely! This pasta is actually pretty good! The flavor is kind of subtle f

I usually never eat at these kind of restaurants, such as Earls, Cactus Club, Sammie J Pepper, Moxies, etc, because they're just too trendy and not my style. Plus the fact that I could find the same food or better at cheaper prices elsewhere keeps me away

The more I have dinner at this type of restaurants, the more I realize the broad variety of food we have in this city. Vancouver is unique in that regard. Unfortunately (or luckily) for me, I have started to become a repeat customer of many restaurants, s
