Review Splitz Grill - Vancouver

Douglas Adam
This place is so good I have to force myself not to come here. I avoid taking Main St for that reason. If I lived in the area I'd eat here every day. Great lunch specials and great beer deals makes me wonder how they turn a profit and why this place isn't packed to the gills. A real hand made real beef burger with fresh toppings the way you want it washed down with a cool local beer. Throw in the chill ambiance and the cool owners and you have a winner.

Delicious homestyle burgers made fresh infront of you. Splitz fries were tasty, but soft drink should have been cheaper or could have had free refills. Overall was really enjoyable.

Friendly staff good service slightly complicated when they call your name for pick up and topping selection (if you are not a regular ) Food wasn't bad but the beef was not soft and it was over cooked (as you can see the burn marks in the pictures ) Fries were soft but hand cut and fresh if they could boil them for 2 min then fry them it would be better Am i going back ? I have noting against it but i rather try other burger places

Burgers (beef or lentil) are a good value at lunch and an even better value on Throwback Thursdays. They are quite flavorful. I like the inventive sauces (hummus and babaganoush anyone?) and the fact that you can choose the toppings you want. Service can range from borderline rude to good. The tables could be a bit cleaner.

Delicious burger, and reasonably priced. That being said, charging for refills of self serve pop is unheard of in fast food restaurants now a days (.50c). This is why I can only give them a 4 star rating

This is a awesome little place, very clean facility and very welcoming. The staff are super friendly and the food is so good! I had the Bison burger and was very impressed, cooked to perfection, was amazing!! I also got the garlic fries they where also good but they are very oily, would be nice to be less oily but over all still good. I believe this place is a little pricey but for the quality of food and service I wouldn't mind coming here every once in awhile.

Great burgers especially lunch specials (beef or vege burger for $4.99) for the price conscious. They have a nice selection of toppings and sauces, so you can either go super crazy or very healthy. If you add combo then be ready to pay more than double the price. Service can be either rude or good, depending on who you'll get.

How did it take me so long to try this place? Great homemade/diner style burger (pick your patty, toppings and sauces; possibilities are endless), classic crisp fries. Tried the fried pickles and milkshake too... The best in the City! My new go-to burger place.

First time dining at the place i ordered The Legendary Splitz Burger Combo with Montery Jack Cheese,Sauteed Onions and Grilled Bacon with a Ice Tea the food was delicious but nothing really special, but they have malt vinegar in small packets(so good with fries) i would recommend this location

I first got Splitzed at the original location in Whistler. I went on a recommendation from a local, and boy I was not disappointed. I thought it was the best burger I ever had and considered it one of the best places anywhere for a burger. Reader's Digest backed me up by rating it the best burger in Canada. I've seen other foodie sites rate the Splitz Grill as one of Vancouver's best and also tops in the country. I live on Vancouver Island, so whenever I get to Vancouver I make sure I get Splitzed for lunch or dinner. I always order  a single stack beef burger. You can order up to the triple stack if you love ground cow. There is a menu to look at here if you want to see the selection. Everything is fresh and you can load your burger with all kinds of toppings like they do at Subway. They even have baba ganoush! Please open a location in Victoria. John Catucci you have absolutely gotta eat here!!!

They're vegetarian friendly! :D I tried the spicy lentil burger, which was a good portion and it tasted awesome, though it was lacking in the spicy department. Service was also relatively quick, no complaints about anything there. I have yet to try other options, and their ice cream menu :P

I've heard of Splitz Grill for a while now but never ventured to go eat there, today finally I had the opportunity. Like the Zomato reviewer, Steven Ewing said "We went to the counter and the menu and layout was confusing. There was lots of little signs and print outs everywhere." In my opinion, it wasn't a confusing layout but there is too many signs and printouts everywhere. A menu to the left of the counter, a menu overhead, a laminated menu on the counter and a photocopied menu beside the laminated menu on the counter. This makes no sense to me. <br/><br/>Upon giving my name to the lady, she said have a seat and you will be called to pick up your burger. As soon as I got some water and sat down I was called over about one minute later. They asked me what I wanted on the burger, I had no clue what I was even looking at as I have never been there. I told her this and she pointed to small sign to the left of the sauces with everything I can put on it. The sign means nothing to me as some of the sauces have their own names. Upon receiving my Splitz burger, the patty was medium-well, this isn't the USA. In Canada, we don't serve medium-well burgers we only serve well-done. You can't serve under cooked ground beef because the chance of bacteria.<br/><br/>I also feel tricked. There is a big sign outside saying Splitz Burger $4.49 - Monday to Friday 11:30 AM - 4:00 PM. I showed up at 3:30 PM and the lady told me "sorry you won't be getting the special because this doesn't apply today". Today is a Monday I thought to myself, she then said the "special doesn't apply on holidays", the problem is nowhere anywhere says this! Why isn't there an asterisk on the big banner stating so?<br/><br/>Also, Zomato reviewer EatingIsMyJob said "Another reason for the lower rating: the decor & cleanliness. The place looks like it needs a major overhaul." It sure does, the men's washroom urinal is out of order, the washroom stall door swung open and almost broke when I tried to close/open the door. The paper towel dispenser lever is broken and you need to jam your finger in it to pump the paper towels out every single push, I gave up after getting around 3-inches of paper. Cleanliness of the whole restaurant needs work.

Despite its average quality of meat---I don't expect much for their $3.99 burger, it's just decent if your expectations are low.  It all comes down to the meat, and didn't have much of a flavour to it, who knows, maybe too many fillers?<br/><br/>For the area without much competition, it's okay to satisfy the craving.  But spend a few bucks more for a bar-type quality is a much better idea.<br/><br/>Another reason for the lower rating: the decor & cleanliness.  Place looks like it needs a major overhaul.

So my needle felting addiction is getting a little out of hand. It started off as a few animals with the intent of making gifts for friends, but now I find myself just having to make more…. MORE…. MOAAARRR!!!! Seriously, it has to stop. I’ve already spent hundreds of dollars on bloody needles and wool. What have I become!?!? Unfortunately materials are not only costly but also fairly difficult to find. Each store seems to have their own unique set of colours which means having to scour the city looking for just the right shade of colour for that certain project you’re working on. On the bright side, one store I found called Three Bags Full was over on Main Street which is right in the thick of a lot of places I’ve been wanting to eat at. Since I was driving and only had so much change with me, parking time was limited. Yes, I know I could have phoned it in, but I’m lazy. Anyway, after finding the colour Little Bunny was after (a bright pink to make her niece a set of Billy and Bam Bam dolls, and no, not the Flinstones character) we had just under a half hour remaining meaning we had to find something reasonably quick. We walked along Main street where we spotted a sign that read “Kanye 4 Prime Minister”. Obviously this was around the time of the elections and we both chuckled. I looked up and saw that we were in front of Splitz Grill. Beavis actually told me about them before and mentioned they were a good burger joint, so we decided to give them a go.

One of the best fast food burger joints in the city. Reasonable price, cooked in front of Ya, add all your fixings. Highly recommended especially if you're looking for lunch as 11:30-4 is their lunch special.

Walked my hungover ass a block from my girlfriend's house to splitz for the first time today. Gotta say, not a bad choice. Pretty decent burger and a Diet Coke as well as some subpar fries for $12 with tip. Liked everything about the experience minus the hangover and soggy fries.

Put on your adult pants, because this is no place for boys and girls. All joking aside, Splitz Grill has some of the finest burgers you'll ever try. The ability to customize your burger in any which way, with various vegetables, sauces, cheeses and other toppings allows you to make your burger your way. This restaurant prides itself on keeping to the roots of the burger where it should be. Yes, the may have Fish and Chips, chicken and veggie burgers, which are all great, but this is a burgerhouse first. The thick-cut fries will remind you of how mum used to make French Fries and to top it off a cool soft drink or beer (don't drink alcohol kids) to wash everything down smoothly. Onion Rings are also an option, but more often than not you will be craving those fries. If I could change one thing, it would be to have the Lunch Special on weekends, just because I like the $3.99 pricetag. What can I say, I'm a penny pincher!
Paula
Very bad customer service! They have a stamp card system where you can collect stamps for a future burger. There is a woman at lunch time that never wants to stamp the cards they give out. There very rude about stump there cards. So I ask the question "why do you have the splitz card then?"<br/>Paula

Messy but good. Alternative burgers are not easy to find. This place has them. The sauces are good, but do make the burgers messy. I had a wild salmon burger and Greek salad. The food itself was great. Fast service. My only complaint is that after living in Portland where I could get an awesome wild salmon burger for $5 with any toppings, $9.25 seems a bit steep. I added bacon and blue cheese and it was $18. But I guess that's Vancouver for you. If you don't mind paying a few extra $, the food here is good.
Canuckman79
Great burgers. I really like how they have so many topping to choose from. Make sure you get the splitz sauce. The beef had great flavor and was cooked perfectly. They give you a good amount of fries too. Going to try the turkey burger next time.

Friendly and yummy. Worth a return trip for sure

Great Burgers!. Splitz always delivers a solid burger and I try to make my way down there once a month.<br/><br/>You can choose your cheese and toppings from a large selection including some unique ones, like babaganoush and tzatziki. The burger is char grilled just perfectly and turns out moist and juicy. The soft white bun compliments the meat and soaks up all the flavorful juices. It gets messy, but it's worth it! Fries are ok and the onion rings are pretty good with light crispy batter. The restaurant is family run so service is usually good but basic - it's a burger joint. Splitz is in my top 3 of Vancouver's best burgers.

Good Burger that's all. Had the $3.99 special for the Splitz burger. I got fries on the side and we're not worth the $3.25. Place tries to pull of Memphis Blues but staff not the most engaging. Other than that I like the burger here. Splitz sauce is recommended.

Great burgers, great atmosphere and great value. There are not too many affordable places to eat at Whistler. This is a hidden gem!
Knowledge Of Man
This was my first time here and i found the booths uncomfortable the place was freezing and the staff not overly friendly. However the sausage burger was good but the splitz fries were aweful. Why they would put theyre name on that product is beyond me. I can finally say i tried a splitz burger now but think i'll stick to Vera's in the future
StarGazer
Recommend the burgers just not the fries. The burger buns was fresh and there is good sauce selection to choose from. Toppings selection was decent. Fries was served almost burnt. Some people might like that but I found that I couldn't enjoy eating much of the fries.

Will NEVER Come Back. DON'T COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND A SO-SO BURGER!!<br/><br/>Every few weeks we come for burgers as we work nearby. The quality has been going downhill and our orders aren't always right but we hadn't complained because the food was decent. <br/><br/>Yesterday we ordered take-out with our orders all written down on a piece of paper. The paper was given to the girl at cash, who passed it to the cook who then gave it back to us telling us to read it out. Well, they didn't give us the fried onions (which was paid for) on one, and then put absolutely no BBQ sauce on the one that wanted extra sauce. When we called to inform them that the meal was disappointing, and that we would like a refund of $1.12 on the non-existent fried onions, they were okay with returning that amount of $. <br/><br/>The owner said that he dressed the burgers and that it was correct and how we wanted it. When I mentioned that it couldn't be as we didn't get our fried onions, he then asked the girl at the the cash. He then conceded that one was a mistake and would refund us the onions. He then passed me over to the girl at the cash.<br/><br/>However, when I mentioned how disappointing the meal was, the girl got upset and said it was all our fault as the girl who ordered was confused (it was all written down!), and that we didn't want any sauce. I mentioned that only the lamb burger had no sauce, and that how could it be all our fault when we didn't even get what we ordered? She then screams (yes - she was screaming as I had to hold the phone away from my ear) that I said the meal was disgusting and gross and that it was all their fault!. When I said that I never said the food was gross and disgusting and all I said was that it was disappointing! I told her not to put words in my mouth. She then basically screamed at the owner that he had to deal with me. <br/><br/>So when the owner got on the phone, I told him that I never said that the food was gross and disgusting. I said that I told the girl that it was disappointing. He just said okay. No apologies for the mistake or the screaming woman. I told him that I was surprised at the lack of customer service and he didn't seem to care. So don't go here unless you want a so-so burger (it's on par with White Spot) and don't care about the customer service. Because if anything goes wrong, they could care less as it was probably your fault!<br/><br/>It's just shocking as I used to work in the hospitality industry. I didn't want anything from them except a $1.12 refund for the onions. But i didn't expect them to say that it was our fault that the burgers were wrong and for someone to make-up stories of what I said when I didn't. I don't think I've ever had such bad customer service in my life!

Seriously, change the lighting. I've been wanting to come here for a while because of all the hype I've heard. A bit of a letdown, really. The ordering process was ok. The condiments were fine. The service was adequately speedy. The food? Meh. My fries were not crispy but slightly underdone and, therefore, soggy. Only the short buts were crispy. The burger itself was quite messy to eat and dripped a lot. I guess that's what you'd call "juicy". I suppose you kind of expect the mess though from overstuffed burgers. But my biggest beef (pun intended) was the lighting. It was horrible! It was like cheap fluorescent light bulbs that gave you a scary shadowy face. Unflattering for everyone. I don't feel the need to return.

Good atmosphere? What atmosphere?<br/>Ambience suck, poor lighting that's too white and bright. <br/>The wooden booths hurts, the tables are too far away from the booths which makes you lean forward. <br/>Metal chairs, sticky oily tile floors....<br/>Turkey burger had too much garlic, tasted like butcher block. <br/>$3 to upgrade to Yam Fries?!?<br/>Over-rated overall. <br/>C'mon Vancouver, we need to have higher standards to be giving this place such positive reviews!
Brian
Gross.. Me and a couple friends went into splitz hoping for a good meal.. We ordered a combo meal each and the fries that came with our combos were burnt and brown.. I couldn't help but wonder if the skins were dark naturally, but I waited for the next customers to order a combo.. And the results? A fresh golden batch of fries.. Not coming back here anymore...

Amazing. This place is a MUST when I am in the Vancouver area. Great food, atmosphere, people. I really enjoy the entire menu. The burgers are to die for. Chicken Strips are crispy and seasoned perfectly. I have made a fair few trips from Chilliwack JUST to get a Splitz Burger. Please don't ever change<br/>Thank you

Mmmm good. People that prefer Vera's or PHAT burger...man you have no idea what you're missing. The pattys are fresh and juicy and the sauces are awesome. The garlicy mayo you are sooooooooo goooood. It's so tasty even the leftovers are good! Love this place. It's quaint and it's so good.
No Dessert Im Full
Avoid the double stacker.... All the condiments are very tasty, the dill pickles, mushrooms, onions, perfectly sliced tomatoe, bacon, shredded cheddar, alfalfa sprouts, and the yummy garlic, dill like mayo splitz sauce.... All those tastes are completly overwhelmed by the 2/3 of a pound double beef paties... Not to mention its impossible to fit the entire height of the burger in your mouth, shouldev went with the single patty burger! After you add a few extras the price can increase quite a bit too, my double stacker combo came to $16 then you chuck a tip in there and you got yourself a fairly pricey burger meal. The french fries are pretty good and for me resembled a fish and chips style fry, the recommended splitz sauce for a dip was a good idea too. However, with the large amount of options for burger meals (fast food, red robin, five guys, pubs and bars) I have a hard time recommending this spot.
Not A Bot Or Paid Poster
I love the place, but... To any business:<br/><br/>Just because your employee looks trendy and dresses like a bum, doesn't meant you should hire them! <br/><br/>To be fair, Splitz is not as bad as many Main St establishments for this, but a simple smile and friendly demeanor goes a long way. It it wasn't for that, it would be my usual place. I'll pay more at my local watering hole thanks!
Saeryn Correll
Good burgers.. Came here with friends. It feels more upscale than a Vera's or a Five Guys, but not as good as Romer's. The burgers were good, and I appreciate the toppings being done as you asked (even though it made things feel like a Subway). I can't say that I liked the fries and or rings as much, though, which was disappointing.<br/>It's not a bad place, but it occupies a strange place for me - it's cheaper than Romer's, but not as cheap as Five Guys. But if you're looking for a good burger around the Main Street area, this is the place to go.
Olivia R.
Not worth the price. The burgers are loaded to the top and covered in various sauces, creating a burger that's impossible to eat. Without creating a huge mess of course. The kid's meals are about the size of an adult meal at any other restaurant. There is a lot of hype about this place, which I do not understand whatsoever. Its only worth going if you haven't eaten in a week or so. I will not be going back.

Splitz Grill - Main Street Vancouver. Looking for the best burger joint in Vancouver is a challenge. My Wife and I LOVED Splitz in Whistler, so this should have been a no brainer. Unfortunately, to our dismay, the Main Street location is terrible! <br/><br/>We were greeted politely, but could barely hear anything being said to us as there were a few guys making enough noise to irritate children on a playground. Once our order was done we added our toppings (as per the norm) and waited in anticipation of what was to come our way. <br/><br/>First bite was ok, then it deteriorated from there. My Bison burger tasted like char and Traci's wrap and the chicken in it carried what appeared to be yesterday's greasy burger bits from the grill top. It even tasted like grill top bits from the day before! The bacon was no different and the fries looked like greasy little bits from the bottom of the fryer! I'll remember not to tip before the food comes again! I was considering asking for the 12% tip back after the terrible food they provided. Maybe that's just what you get there when you show up between lunch and dinner. <br/><br/>Seriously NOT IMPRESSED at all, and we'll never be going back to that burger joint! I'd much rather drive to Whister to experience the delicous burgers at Splitz (where obviously they have pride in the product they serve - and they were a lot of fun to chat with as well)!

You better be hungry. I do love my burgers, and I am picky.<br/>I went to Splitz Grill at lunch and even though it was busy they moved me through the line pretty fast.<br/>I got the Splitz burger, onion rings and large diet coke.<br/>you can have any toppings on it you want, there are about 50 to choose from. what ever you do make sure you get the Splitz sauce on your burger, it's what makes it different and amazing. I also asked for a side of Splitz suace for my rings which was no problem, no charge and that is way better than ketchup.<br/>The price was fair, but the portions were huge, I only had a small dinner that night as a result.<br/>The service is friendly, it seems like it's the owners who run the place because they work very hard and are very concerned about you being happy. Nice people, and the counter girl is hot obviously she works out. Next time I'm trying the Caramelized Banana Splitz, my girlfriend says its to die for.

I don't get it. We had a craving for burgers. I just spent the month in Asia and came home craving western food and went out searching for a good burger... and we didn't find it at Splitz Grill.<br/><br/>We went to the counter and the menu and layout was confusing. There was lots of little signs and print outs everywhere. Tried joking with the woman at the til about it but she didn't even crack a smile. She even seemed irritated but I couldn't tell if it was with us, the job or maybe she's just a bit of a ...<br/><br/>It was 7pm on a Sunday and the place was empty other than one guy sitting by himself. The place had about 20 patrons when we left. Almost everyone looked confused during the ordering process.<br/><br/>So we ordered, gave our name and sat down. About a minute later a young man with an extremely arrogant air about him with a fake smile and a crooked baseball hat called us over to see what we wanted on our burgers. He too seemed irritated. Again it was confusing with print outs and lists in odd places. I just requested what I could see. My guest did the same. We also ordered the Splitz fries, an Arizona Iced tea for her and a Boyan's Black Cherry for me (I love the Boyan's stuff). The bill was close to $30.00<br/><br/>The food came and my first note is that they put the cheese on the bottom of the bun and put the burger on top of it. This is just bad design. The cheese did not melt and the old cheddar overpowered every other flavour of the burger affectively ruining it. I scraped it off the bottom and put it on top but it was just a clump of unmelted shredded cheese.<br/><br/>They use kosher dills which (in my opinion) is not the right pickle for a burger. Too acidic and not sweet enough. too much lettuce and it fell apart as we ate it.<br/><br/>I enjoyed the patty but my date thought it smelled of feet. I didn't get the feet smell. I didn't like the burger but she hated it.<br/><br/>The Splitz fries were just fries with powdered gravy and the same cheddar that was on the burger. They were ok but I am not a fan of powdered gravy but I should know that it is rare to find real gravy anywhere casual these days.<br/><br/>It feels to me that there was probably a time when this place was great but I think that with so many burger places and (what appears to be) an unhappy and/or undisciplined staff.<br/><br/>I would not go back or recommend this place.

Best Burgers/Hot Dogs in Western Canada. We spent 3 weeks on a roadtrip to Richmond to visit my sister and were directed to Splitz by someone at the Westin Hotel where we were staying. All I can say is that we miss going there and we've been back in Winnipeg for 2 weeks!!! My husband said his burger was the best he has had in ages and my hot dog was fantastic! Nice owners, clean restaurant, friendly atmosphere, great food ... what else can you ask for!? We look forward to returning!
Catherine
Perfect pre-game eating. I've visited twice and the staff have been impatient at best, but it's worth running the gauntlet for the delicious, juicy burgers that are served at Splitz. Choose your toppings a la Subway (sorry for lowering the tone...), with bacon and cheese costing extra. Pick a combo and you also get treated to a generous serving of perfectly crispy fries and a soda.<br/><br/>I've been told to try the "amaaaazing!" milkshakes; that'll be up next, perhaps while perched on one of the stools that are lined up in front of the open, sunshine trap of a window.<br/><br/>This is also a great pre- (baseball) game spot, especially since the Nat is only a knight's move away.

Best "artisanal" burger. Of all the "artisanal" (a play on the word the French use to distinguish their hand-crafted breads from the mass-market machine-made ones) burgers I've had so far in Vancouver, this has been the best.<br/><br/>I went for the bison burger. It had a not quite "mealy" texture, but I could distinguish the individual filaments of the ground meat on my tongue. I mean that in a good way, because to me that's better than pureed glop. Flavour was better than regular beef, too, more tangy/gamey. Thanks to reading Urbanspoon reviews, I knew to scope out what toppings I wanted, and called them out to the line cook like an expert instead of someone who had never been to Splitz. It made for a nice, custom burger.<br/><br/>The fries were tasty, and the amount served with the combo option was sufficient. No need to worsen my waistline by up-sizing. Splitz' fries are coated with something that makes them uniformly crispy (but it's not one of the flavoured coatings.) Natural fries are best, but they don't always turn out perfect in the hands of inexperienced fryers, so this was a good alternative.<br/><br/>Props to Splitz' milkshakes, too. Made the old-fashioned way in a shake blender, with ice cream scooped right out of the freezer containers that you can see. I've had shakes that were too thin, and one in California that was actually too rich (chocolate AND peanut butter, my mistake). This one was perfect for everything but my weight.<br/><br/>Lastly, it was nice to sit at Splitz' counter facing onto the sidewalk and watch the parade of Main Street hipsters on a sunny Sunday. Much nicer than streetside eating somewhere like East Van, or East "Pan" as I like to think of it for all the panhandlers. I didn't get hit up for spare change a single time at Splitz!

Best Burger. This is by far the best burger I have ever had! I have been to Five Guy's, Ted Montana's, Red Robin, Jack in the box and Elevation burger. Splitz Grill tops them all! Their Buffalo is to die for and the special Splitz sauce is like no other!! I wish we had Splitz Grill in the USA!
Buddy_love
It was ok. Our second visit - my first was disasterous, my fault for choosing topping that did not complement one another - and this visit was better. We stuck to the basics: burger with sauted mushrooms, good toppings, and we shared the fries.<br/><br/>The burger has some sort of non-meat filler or something - it wasn't quite right somehow. Good bun. Very good fries. It satisfied our burning burger craving, but only just.

Not going back again..... In the past i have enjoyed many meals at Splitz but that is not the case anymore<br/>i will no longer be a customer<br/>the quality and taste of the burgers has gone down alot, the buns are not good and the woman who is the owner has been rude to me the last several times<br/>i rate splitz grill a 1 outta 10!!

Were did the good go. I went there for my B-day looking for the best only getting a bun you can't eat and a paddy that was a little to chard.....thaxs splitz grill

Favorite Burger in town. Yup Splitz makes my favorite burger in town.<br/>They take care of the grill and I take care of the toppings! <br/>Its that easy. The fries are usually short and stubby. I wonder what they can do about that?
Sally Candy
A Tasty Burger. I liked Splitz, I've only been once but if I'm on Main Street aching for a hamburger I'd go there again.<br/>The staff are very nice, they forgot one of the toppings but were very gracious about it.<br/>The burgers are HUGE, the meat is nicely done. and the topping variety is fantastic. and the fries were also good, I was absolutely stuffed from the burger and milkshake and I still kept trying to stuff myself even more with the fries.<br/>Great place to go on a sunny day or if you've been out on the town or have been doing a workout and want a real burger.
Paul Lucas
One of the best gourmet burger shacks I've ever experienced. Their burgers are delicious! They even have their own signature sauce! I recommend this restauraunt to anyone who likes burgers!
Kits Foodie
HMMMM!. Great tasting burgers in an appropriate environment. Lots of variety in making your burger and a great mix of the neighbourhood eating there.

What's not to like? Sausage burger FTW and the fries are great too.
Jamie Buick
Better than Vera's. The thing I like about Splitz is its personalization. Vera take notes, not everyone's burger taste is the same and Splitz knows this and allows everyone to personalize the burger. No more trying to figure out which is the burger of best fit, just pick the meat and your fav toppings.
Wesley May
Best Burgers Ever. Splitz Grill is really amazing. Whenever I'm in Whistler, I *always* go, and now that there's one in Vancouver, I go whenever I'm near Main.<br/><br/>Splitz definitely has the best burgers around, especially their Italian sausage burger. Not enough people try that one, but it's just perfect.<br/><br/>Their milkshakes are really good too, with about 12 different kinds of ice cream to choose from. Fries are nothing particularly special, but Splitz is always stocked with malt vinegar and that makes any fries good.

Best burgers in town. It lived up to the hype. Definitely the best burgers in Vancouver. Real juicy, flavourful (garlicy, but I like that) patties and you choose all the fixins' in an assembly line fashion. You definitely leave feeling satisfied.

Probably one of the best burgers in Vancouver, but it's the toppings that make it great. I do feel the one in Whistler is better but it is the original one.

Vancouver's Best Burger. The best place I've tried for a burger in Vancouver. Bit expensive, but worth it. I love the bison burger!

Like a gourmet Harvey's. Great burgers; great fries; what else do you need? One of the top burgers in Van.

This family run restaurant, own and operated by a husband and wife team, is my guest’s favourite burger joint; and tonight it quickly became mine. The smell of fresh beef patties sizzling on an open grill is unmistakable. If you aren’t hungry walking in, the smell will surely get you there by the time you order. “Splitz’s” slogan and their claim to fame is that they are, “a true gourmet burger joint”. A message communicated by a chalk drawn sexy tomato. She also points our that, “at Splitz it’s not fast food, it’s good food” There isn’t anything fancy about this place. This isn’t a big chain, there isn’t any loud bells, or shiny whistles. It is just a good old fashioned burger joint. No detailed decor elements, no accent pieces. Just their history and origin story printed and framed behind a 5×2 1/2 sheet of glass. A self serve foundation drink machine sits at the end of the room, beside it a collection of packed condiments and plastic utensils. A few television screens are mounted t

Splits is set up to do one thing, and that is crank out burgs. Much akin to a cafeteria, they have somewhat of an assembly line approach to ordering and simple booths, benches and small tables. Whatever is lacking in interior design is more than made up for with the burger.<br/>

This burger was great – they use shredded cheese like another place I’ve been to and it really brings out the cheese flavour – makes sense – more surface area, more flavour. I couldn’t believe I ate the whole thing – it was really good. I wasn’t hungry for another 10 hours ! I would go back here any day and recommend it for anyone who likes burgers.

You order your food, and then you follow them as they grill your patty in front of you, and throw in whatever toppings you like.

Splitz is a very casual establishment serving big, fresh, fast, make-it-how-you-want-it burgers

Splitz Grill isn't your typical burger joint. It serves bison, lamb, and salmon burgers which is really exciting for me because I have never had bison before. All the burgers are made to order and the place was fairly busy since we walked in around lunch time. I was actually very excited to find out they had Hot Dogs on the menu and proceeded to order the Grilled Bavarian Smokie with a Root Beer Float, T got the Free Range Bison Burger combo with fries and R got the Cheese Perogies, Splitz Burger and a Strawberry Root Beer Float. After you ordered you walk down to the condiments bar where there is a whole array of fresh veggies, pickled peppers, cheeses and every type of sauce imaginable, my favourite was the Garlic Mayo and the Banana Peppers!

Rated the best burger place in Vancouver by Vancouverites, does Splitz Grill live up to its expectation? Vancouver isn't really known for having good burgers nor are the health-conscious Vancouverites known for eating a lot of burgers. The competition is pretty slim, and the consumers are apathetic . Being on the "wedding diet" for over a year, I am not exactly the burger expert either. The Lengendary Splitz Burger 2/3lb However, Splitz Grill definitely did not disappoint my high expectation, and their bur

Ordering in Splitz Grill is like a school cafeteria. You order then move down the line and pick the toppings and sauce you want for your burger. It was really nice to get to choose your veggies for your burger like Subway. They even had Alfalfas! DesignGi

A few days ago we made our way to Splitz Grill in 30 degree weather and arrived dizzy with hunger. These burgers were the perfect remedy to prevent our stomachs from shrinking any further since Splitz offers a wide variety of sauces and toppings and piles

We’d never been to Splitz Grill before – though the set up reminded me a bit of a Lick’s burger place in Ontario (though with less singing!). First you order your burger and meal options with the cashier, then follow your tray down the way where a ridicul

The thing about stress is that everyone handles it differently. I'm not sure how well I handle stress; typically, I bake, I eat (truthfully, sometimes I tend to skip meals) and I spend. It's nearing the bend for us in Vancouver; soon, the city will be cov

Today for lunch, my friend Tammy and I checked out Splitz Grill on 4242 Main Street at 27th in Vancouver. This burger joint was on my list of places to try for their Spicy Lentil Burger. Burgers are made to order. I topped mine with hummus, medium tomato

The burgers at Splitz Grill makes a McDonald’s Big Mac look like a kid’s meal. They’re made to order and are available with a nice selection of toppings. We all went for the legendary Splitz Burger, which are available as a single, double or triple patty.

I am not sure if I should have expected something different in their ordering process. I mean, why make it complicated? At the counter, tell what type of burger you want, what toppings, sauces/condiments, any other additional toppings and you are good to

There are many reasons why I love the Main Street area (from 2nd Avenue to 41st is the area I know best). You can find almost anything you want, you can do anything you want (although outdoorsy activities are somewhat limited to the pocket parks). One of
