Review Jam Jar - Vancouver

Stephan Zaria
Amazing Lebanese place! The food is fresh, flavourful, and the spices hit all the authentic notes. And to top it all off - the prices are surprisingly low for such high quality. Some things (like the Lebanese “toast”) are cheap even by middle eastern standards. Everything I’ve tried so far was amazing, so it’s hard to recommend anything in particular. But if I had to choose - the cauliflower is in a league of it’s own. Best I’ve had in all of North America.

Went for dinner And the food was good (especially the appetizer dips) but the service was unfortunately not great. We were at our table for close to an hour before getting any food. I have been before when the food and service were good though, so maybe a one off but I don’t expect to be returning any time soon.

It was such a gem place. Hippy style food and service. Its very conveniently located right on the corner . When you enter , Pleasant and casual atmosphere coupled with rejoicing music welcomes you. Delicious and healthier versions of comfort food is available. From the menu, Platter is a must try as you can pick and choose your three starters/appetizers. Plenty of options for vegetarians and meat items like the lamb and kebab is super healthy and delicious at the same time. I could not try a-lot of drinks but a unique non-alcoholic drink that is local is labenon is really good. Baklava was little hard and less sweet for a desert.

Our meal at January was so good that we were both dying to go again 2 days later. The hummous trio is excellent and the falafels are some of the best I've had. I love when I leave a meal feeling well fed but not heavy at all. Fresh healthy food. I look forward to returning again!

Great venue! It is very nice to have an open kitchen, everything is carefully prepared. Taste of Lebanon. A great choice to taste everything. They don't rush anything and the three course meals come in order, creating a unique experience. The flavors are above average but not great🤭

Head straight to @jamjarcanteen and you’ll leave with no regrets ❤️ Our favourites were the 𝙷𝚞𝚖𝚖𝚞𝚜 𝚃𝚛𝚒𝚘, 𝙲𝚑𝚎𝚎𝚜𝚎 𝚁𝚘𝚕𝚕𝚜 𝙼𝚎𝚣𝚣𝚎, and 𝙵𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚘𝚞𝚜𝚑 𝚂𝚊𝚕𝚊𝚍 🥗! Jam Jar truly has a place for everyone 🥰 Everything is made with fresh local ingredients and here’s our take on what to get 🖊: 𝙷𝚞𝚖𝚖𝚞𝚜 𝚃𝚛𝚒𝚘 - THE BEST HUMMUS EVER 🤤 so creamy and flavourful, our fav was the og 𝚃𝚊𝚋𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚒 𝚂𝚊𝚕𝚊𝚍 - If you like parsley 🌿 this is calling your name 𝙵𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚘𝚞𝚜𝚑 𝚂𝚊𝚕𝚊𝚍 - a nice zesty cucumber salad with pita crisps, what else could you want more? 𝙲𝚑𝚎𝚎𝚜𝚎 𝚁𝚘𝚕𝚕𝚜 𝙼𝚎𝚣𝚣𝚎 - softly melted 3 kinda of cheese encased by a crispy Markouk bread was sooo good 𝙷𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚘𝚞𝚖𝚒 𝙵𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚜 - loved the texture and taste but cold be a bit less salty 𝙼𝚊𝚔𝚊𝚕𝚒 𝙼𝚎𝚣𝚣𝚎 - deep fried cauliflower!! We liked the initial tasting but found it a bit too tangy 𝚂𝚑𝚒𝚜𝚑 𝙼𝚎𝚣𝚣𝚎 - yogurt chicken done right ✅ meat was tender and v juicy 𝙲𝚑𝚘𝚌𝚘𝚕𝚊𝚝𝚎 𝚁𝚒𝚌𝚎 𝙿𝚞𝚍𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 - not too sweet and the touch of coconut milk really enhanced chocolate 𝟼 𝙿𝚒𝚎𝚌𝚎 𝙱𝚊𝚔𝚕𝚊𝚟𝚊 - perfect for dipping hummus 𝙺𝚊𝚖𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚍𝚎𝚎𝚗 - fruity sparkling wine that pairs excellently with any meal 𝙷𝚒𝚋𝚒𝚜𝚌𝚞𝚜 𝙻𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚗𝚊𝚍𝚎 - a refreshing sip to balance out any hearty meal

This place was delightful. Everything we ate was so flavourful, the place is bright and clean and right along Commercial Drive - excellent for people watching. Lots of vegetarian/vegan options.

Pretty satisfying Lebanese food: we had brunch (the restaurant didn't open until 12pm on a Sunday, which seemed late)- I had the cold mezze sampler. Dips, pita, amazing hummus (very creamy and smooth), feta, olives and salad. We had lunch earlier in the week. I had a really good bean stew with pita, rice and salad. You could buy food products at the restaurant as well.

Hey there Jamjar - Folk Lebanese Food - a tad disappointed that 7 cauliflower flowers are all I got for a $12 takeout dish? They are delicious but that’s a bit steep.
