Review Per Se Social Corner - Vancouver

Invidia Midnight
This is a go to place for excellent food, cool atmosphere, and great cocktails. They have the best pistachio ice cream I have ever had. Tried many dishes and all were very good. I recommend going to the coffee shop portion as well, though do not order the London fog as they make it with sugar and not vanilla and it tastes pretty off from the standard london fog... Never had a problem with the service here and can usually be accommodated without a reservation. Note that service is somewhat slow in the bar so don't expect to drop by for a quick drink. Once I ordered something and saw the bartender stand around for 10 minutes then he later told me he was just going to start making my drink..?? Prices are fair for quality and quantity.

If you are wanting to try a new dining scene in the city, this is a great spot. I wouldn't say the menu is truly 'Italian' as there were tons of seafood/pizzeria/burger options. Still, the food and drinks were delicious! Beautiful interior decor (dine in definitely seems better than the patio), friendly and knowledgable hosts, and great location. A bit expensive. Gets rather busy during peak hours, so I recommend going early or making reservations!

Love the atmosphere. High ceilings, Latin music playing, great bar space and over roasted pizzas (including Nutella one). They have a patio space as well/heater. Staff is friendly and professional. Food is also delicious. Good cocktail list. Parking on the street sometimes is hard to find as everywhere in that area. Highly recommend for any occasion.

Great service and food! My favourite item was the Burger there. Unfortunately, I did not take a photo of the cross-section, but the beef patty was cooked to a a beautiful Medium and was very juicy and had a nice crisp to it as well from fried onions! Adding mushrooms was additional cost, but was a nice plus. The fries were replaced with Truffle Fries

We went for a work dinner, the ambiance was enjoyable, really liked how spacious it was inside. Good drink selection. Tried a bunch of appetizers, they were all great. The seafood linguine was just okay, it was a bit on the soggy side. Pizza was yummy.

Our server Tim was great and attentive! He made a recommendation for the special of the day A5 wagyu imported from Japan and it was amazing. The ravioli was perfect and full of crab and lobster. Calamari was soft and flavorful with a very light batter. We will be going back!

This place gives a sense of increased 'physical distancing' because of the ceiling height. It felt 'saver' in here even though the real distances between tables aren't really more than the coffee shop in the next block. I was some what hungry after a short walk, so I broke my own rule of not eating wheat by ordering a gigantic blueberry scone. It's very edible, very different texture than the ones from Small Victoria, but definitely double the size. The barista's make very good foam, so my oat latte was very enjoyable. Overall, a nice experience, so we came back for lunch paninos. The turkey+brie panini was not enjoyable with the brie removed – I found the turkey too 'smelly'. The prosciutto+egg panini was very pleasant. And of course, we I couldn't resist the giant blueberry scone. Aaarg, so much for a glute-sugar-free diet!

So many times I walked near this beautiful place and since the first time I wanted to visit it. The decoration is so nice, inside and outside. We ordered the chicken paella with Tiger prawns and was just amazing. One dish was enough for sharing with my partner. My drink was the Jamaican Fizz, which is sweet with a spicy feeling at the end of each sip, I loved it. For a wonderful closure we ordered the chocolate créeme brûlée with a cup of coffee. We enjoyed a lot. Staff was so kind and the service was perfect. I highly recommend it for a delicious and comfy experience.

I've been frequenting this establishment since it first opened, and I can't say enough about its staff, menu and atmosphere. If you're planning a small intimate outing or a larger group celebration, I'd highly recommend food/drinks on their patio. This location's interior design is second to none in the area. It's high ceiling and Italian flare bring an energy to the room you won't find anywhere else in the city. With great food, a great atmosphere at a reasonable price, I'll keep hosting meetings, entertain gatherings and recommend this place to my friends and associates.

Cool joint. Great decor. Friendly staff who weren’t overly pushy. Young vibrant crowd through to older couples and children so catered for everyone. Traditional salad to start of Tricolore - and it was totally awesome. For something so simple they made it masterful. Got a great main course recommendation from my waiter and it rocked! They brought it with the salad by mistake and insisted on preparing it again (even although I was happy for it to be warmed under the grill for 5 mins) which was very customer focused I though. When you are in holiday and it’s your first time in Vancouver, this place certainly set the standard high. Not overly expensive for the great service and high quality of the food. 10/10

Per se social Corner. I've been here so many times. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. It's one of my first place to recommend to friends whenever i get a chance. Food is great. Love the fresh pizzas among other dishes. Also my favorite place to hold my meetings at. Check it out anytime. Highly recommend.

Super happy to have this spot in Yaletown for quick lunches, coffee meetings, and happy hour options at Social Corner. The first few times that we've gone in, we noticed that the staff are always smiling, having fun, laughing, and having a great time connecting with their guests. On our most recent visit, we had several managers touch the table and we shared with them, how much we love the vibe. We're definitely happy to bring friends, family and guests from out of town to come check out this really vibrant atmosphere. I love their dining room; really beautiful space, and the dishes always taste super yummy. I love their classic take on pizzas. Also, sweet happy hour deals!

Not an enthusiastic reception by the hostess followed by a Long wait for service. No reaction when the server was told that we felt neglected. Food was decent, decor is cool but they do not understand the meaning of customer service. I will not return to this restaurant and If the staff remains as uncaring and unhappy as they seem, this space will soon be for lease. You must take care of your customers!!

The atmosphere and drinks were fine; however, the wait for the food was too long and the cost vs what you get was not good. My salad cost $23 and frankly wasn't worth it. I would recommend this for drinks only.

Horrible service. I waited close to an hour for my brunch! I Had to cancel my order as I had to leave the restaurant. The server, who said there was a printer problem, was not familiar with the menu whatsoever and was very very unfriendly. Beautiful inside but I wont be returning.

Absolutely the best pizza in downtown as well as amazing service and a great atmosphere. Beautiful high ceilings, open space and great ligting. One of my favourite places to grab a drink and food at!

The most amazing interior design I've seen in Vancouver so far. So much style, soul and exquisite taste. Italian cuisine doesn't need any comments: mouthwatering dishes and illy coffee - omg - is the best coffee I've ever had in my entire life. If you live in Vancouver and looking for smth atmospheric, stylish and delicious, you've got to check it out.

Came in from Alberta with two girlfriends this past Friday night to watch the soccer game and decided to try this place out. Really cool atmosphere, neat concept. Delicious pizza and goat cheese salad! Amazing service - Daniel was the best!! Will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

The service was overall excellent. It wasn't on the menu, but the bartender was happy to make a dark & stormy. He added his own take to the classic by going heavier on the rum, easier on the ginger beer. My drink was familiar but new. Outstanding !

Great location, staff and amazing food, all under one roof!

My colleague wanted to try coffee here and she said they used Italian coffee beans so three of us headed down here for coffee. They have three different sizes of cappuccino so it’s not a traditional Italian cappuccino style. We ordered the cappuccino and the froth was really good and nice foamy creamy texture. The coffee was a but on weak side but tasted not bad. They didn’t have a lot of bakeries or pastries so one of my coworkers decided not order anything. Overall I enjoyed my cappuccino and experience there. It was a nice cozy place for a cup of coffee

I only went to their cafe. They have a regular coffee menu and limited pastry selections. There is not much to say? I walk by and order a coffee to go. The brownie isn't too sweet which is good.

The atmosphere is spacious and the outside patio perfect for lazy afternoons. The food menu is plenty diverse with the portions above average. The night staff, specifically the host/manager, provided exceptional service.
Server forgot about our drink, the restaurant had lots of staff but was unhelpful but saw my husband and I in need. I wish the service made our experience a lot better!

Checked this place out with a few girls Friday night before a concert and unfortunately it wasn’t the greatest experience. I’ll give them a little credit, it was a busy night but surely it looked like they had enough staff as we were seated right near the kitchen and the bar. To say the least, it was an awful spot to try to enjoy a meal and drinks. Our server was not very personable and extremely slow. My drink was empty for 45 mins and it took forever to attempt to locate the server. Pizza and risotto balls were tasty, however the green salad was awful and bland. It was also upsetting to have the 18% gratuity already included on the bill with a party of 7. It felt like the server could be shitty because they were getting the tip anyway. On a brighter note, the decor was nice but I probably won’t return.

Service was fast and the food quality was excellent. The patio is very nice. The only complaint I have is that the portion of ravioli was small, I was still hungry and for 18-19 a plate, I would expect it to stand alone. But that's just me.

Took way too long for orders, drinks, and billing...especially as place was basically empty. The salmon salad consisted of about a pound of bitter greens, dry flavourless salmon, and a pinch of quinoa and just a hint of citrus dressing. Seeing as I was on a hour break, reordering was not an option...especially seeing as it took an almost an hour for food to arrive in the first place. The service staff were attentive and friendly which is the only reason i give this place two stars. The place tries too much to be a tapas place, a pizzeria and an italian restaurant all in one..
Good Food Good Mood
Forest burger so damn good!!! The party was big and juicy which paired with musheroom cream sauce is just an explosion in your mouth! My friend had the addiction pizza; the brasato beef that was on it was so delicious and flavourful. Service was friendly the place had a great environment with a saxophonist walking around playing.

The quality and the value of the food at Per Se Social Corner makes the happy hour deal a sweet one. I was quite impressed with the Pinche Chips and the variety of freshly made pizzas. And if you feel like staying at one destination after work for a TGIF evening, this might be the place with the massive open space and cool ambience here.

Per Se Social Corner seems like the kind of restaurant where there is something for everyone. In fact, it’s three concepts under one roof: a pizzeria, a cafe and a Spanish-style tapas bar. I had passed by Per Se a few times never really know what it is was about at least from the outside. So when a few food bloggers and myself were considering where to go for some some quick bites after a media event, Maggi endorsed a visit to Per Se Social Corner for Happy Hour. And so we went with much curiosity to find out what this place had to offer.

Absolutely delicious! Cannot wait for our next visit. Hubby had the burger and fries and I had pizza. Best pizza I have ever had. Very friendly and accommodating staff as well.

Nice environment. We arrived at 2:20 on a Sunday afternoon expecting to try their brunch. But brunch finishes at 2 pm. They were kind enough to extend the eggs bennies. My husband ordered the mushroom benny. The eggs were large and propetly poached. Sauce looked great. A balanced mesl with salad and potatoes. I ordered beef and onions pizza. I think the guy who made the pizza didn't know how to work the dough. It was too thin in the centre and too bready around the edge. I would have preferred less bread in the crusty edge. Lots of carmelized onions, hard to detect the beef. The taste was fine though. Will I got back? Probably because I enjoy the space.

Appalling service from start until finish. Had reservations for a large group; the table prepared was much too small and no effort was made by the staff to rectify this. Service was extremely slow, inattentive, and inconsistent - ie 20 minutes for a drink order to be taken. Dishes were not cleared away, rather left on the table piling up. Pizza was decent, however, it was unsliced and we were provided with a dull pizza slicer to do it ourselves. Salad was fresh however the emphasis appeared to be on presentation. Greens were dry and we had to wipe them around on the large plate artistically drizzled with balsamic to obtain any dressing. It bordered on comical how difficult it was to track down our server. When the bill finally arrived, after having to ask the bartender and at least two other servers, it included the (expected) standard 18% gratuity. The server made excuses for the slow service and stated that gratuity was appropriate for the service provided. Manager was rude and confrontational, interrupted and talked over me and another guest. Terrible service. As someone who dines out frequently downtown, I would never return to or recommend this restaurant.

My first visit was as an after dinner destination, for a bottle of wine and some snacks. There, I enjoyed their chips so much that I made a note to return, and here I am today for happy hour!. They had plenty of $5 food and $5 off pizza specials from 3-5:30pm and we were going to take advantage. But it required a mad dash and a speedy drive from Burnaby all the way to downtown Vancouver. We eventually made it, 20 minutes to cut off, but not without having to run and sweat. We got our orders in, getting a few things we would have liked to try anyways, at a a fraction of the cost during this happy hour service. I love happy hour menus that don’t give you a new menu, but allows you to taste what they are all about, for less.

The service was amazing - the food was amazing. This spot is where it's at. The ambience and people were fun.

Had the tuna flat bread pizza for the entree. Was delicious. As a starter we had the calamari which was succulent and tasty.

👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 for this spot

My husband and parents went for dinner here on Friday evening at around 9PM. Our experience started out lovely, with nice ambiance set by the hostess and our server. After being seated, we found the music much too loud for dinner conversation. We asked to be moved outside to a patio table and were promised a table that never amounted. We requested our server turn down the music and she responded that management refused to do so. When asked to talk with management he informed us, from the hostess stand versus our table, that the music was setting the ambience for the 300+ guests and could not be lowered just because 4 people didn't like it that loud. When he was informed that my dad has hearing only in one ear he did lower it slightly. Within 5 minutes the restaurants owner walked in, laughed at us with staff and turned the music up louder. The owner refused to talk with us at our table. The manager did eventually come table side to talk with us but we were not apologized to for the way we were treated and no compensations were made. I understand music setting a vibe for a restaurant, especially on the weekends, and we know now not to return on the weekend as it will be too loud for dinner conversation. What upset me was how my dad was treated and made to feel about his hearing loss and how no way to reconcile our concerns were made. I do not think this was handled well and we will not be returning to this restaurant. It is really unfortunate as the food and wine was wonderful and we would have been back if we were treated appropriately. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the pizza had creative toppings and was delicious.

Don't even waste your time. Awful service to begin with, the peroni was flat and they "couldn't do anything about it at the moment" the pesto totally over rides the caprese (which didn't even have high quality tomatoes, and is basically the easiest thing to make), the pasta was over cooked and tasted like mushroom soup on penne, and the pizza crust wasn't chewy or crispy like true Italian style pizza. Serving pasta in oversized French onion soup bowls that slide around on a bigger plate is not even cool at all, and maybe up the parmesan game on the prosciutto arugula pizza. Absolutely the worst way to end my trip to Vancouver.

Had the Cesar salad and the octopus. The Caesar salad was romaine lettuce hearts and a mediocre dressing. The octopus was warm which made it seem like it had been sitting out for too long. Not good. The restaurant has a great environment and vibe and the drinks were good but food wise I can't recommend it.
DanoRama
Had a couple Tapas including the grilled octopus and risotto balls. Octopus was more soft and mushy than grilled so wasn't what I was expecting, however the flavour profile was great. The risotto balls were crispy and hot. Service was great too! I think my favorite thing about this spot is the interesting menu. Gonna come back for their pizzas.

Today's visit is our unofficial Attempt Number Two at checking out the brand new Per Se Social Corner - Stop 56 in our weekly Search for Vancouver's Best Coffee. This trendy creature - I would compare to an expensive young thing, strutting the upscale blocks of Yaletown.Let's begin with full disclosure. Last weekend was a fail, showing up to a locked door, reading a message which said they were closed for a special event. It reminded us of the good old days in this neighbourhood, where our main concern was getting into a nightclub. Kind of left wondering if the bouncer would ever nod at you in approval, part the velvet rope.
