Review Falafel King Restaurant - Vancouver

A Denman staple for decades. A bare bones operation that lets the food speak for itself. Got the chicken shawarma with lentil warm. Can’t beat $10! The sauce on the chicken was delicious. Glad to see this place is still here

Generous portion and very reasonable price. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate and it was very satisfying. Will go back again.

But lunch here today, I was very, very disappointed. I ordered the beef lamb plate, the meat was rubbery and overcooked, Had a strange texture nothing close to Mediterranean food I’ve come to know. The rice was over cooked. The hummus was good but a little bit runny and of course the pita bread was fine but that came from a commercial bakery.

Do not eat here. First of all the meat is not good. Second Of all the owner is clearly a racist. When we went to pay he said he doesn’t take cards despite the door sign saying they take debit and credit. Then someone else walked in asked if they take cards and the owner said yes. Then the customer was confused as he heard the owner say no to us. He asked again whether they Take cards and the owner seemed to delay his answer until we had left the restaurant. Do not go here what a bad person and a bad place.

Store wasn't busy when we went still got terrible customer service experience. I ordered a chicken and a beef shawarma. They were prepared before I even had a chance to whip out my wallet. I wasn't asked what I want on them as we have allergies. They were prepared to the restaurants preference which was just lettuce in the wrap??? Secondly the beef is canned corned beef not beef donair that is disgusting might as well it be dog food. And then the owner tries to divert the topic by talking about some random things so I won't talk about my sandwich. Finally i feel like these guys are straight up con artists, like who uses corned beef instead of donair to save a few bucks. Shame on them for ruining shawarma.

Soup was good but the beef shawarma...this is not real beef , it is more likely Spam beef, the shawarma grill was not even working. Try to avoid it.

The pictures are not what you get, at all in fact. Pretty much the lowest grade meat which is like rubber and over cooked. The Falafel is not fresh but in a sham and whatvis hidden you would get fir a salad etc was not on the plate. Ge said it was all get had. Smells so good when we walk by but taste is a much different thing.

This is the best shawarma/donair place in the West End. I also enjoy Babylon, Donair Town and Donair Dude but Falafel King has the edge and if it's open then I usually go there. Chicken shawarma is absolutely delicious and you get a good sized portion. Hummus is made in house and is also amazing. Highly recommend!

Wanting to try this place for quite some time now. Located on Kingsway right next to House of Dosas is this small shop serving some of best shawarma in town. Coming here on a lunch hour, expect to wait a bit for tables as they only have a few tables of four and one long bench. . Chicken Falafel $9.99

I used to love this joint in the West End for their shawarma. I wish I could say "great hole in the wall" but unfortunately it has been quite dirty the last couple of times I have come. Hard to resist coming back though - you can literally smell the chicken shawarma from a block away.

Absolutely no love went into the falafel I just ordered. It was slapped together in a rush and there with no one even behind me in the store. The pita was rolled so terribly it broke apart everywhere the second I went to take my first bite. Not only was the food cold and old, but the service was terrible. I felt like the owner wanted to pack my takeout so fast so he could get back to whatever he was doing before I showed up. There are so many great places for Middle Eastern on Denman so don't waste your time or money here, I know I never will again.

BEST value in all of the WEst End. This is a great value to eat some great, fresh food. The seating is a bit limited, but usually a seat can be found somewhere on the sidewalk tables. The Schwarma is ridiculous. I recommend this as one of your FIRST choices since the affordability is so obvious.

Mixed bag. I had the Babylon Cafe and Falafel King twice in the same week (I didn't plan it that way). Falafel King had better Shawarma but the remainder of the plate was meh. Babylon Cafe's salad and rice were better than Falafel King's equivalent.

Best Shawarma in Vancouver.... ...that is mildly anti-American. Just don't tell them you're from the States and Steve won't go into a Fatwahtic tyrate. This is one my must go to when my American family and I go to English bay and anytime we cross the border. Get the shawarma plate!

While we were making this journey, we all unanimously decide to stop at Falafel King for some shawarma platter goodness.

After an afternoon of biking around the Stanley Park sea wall a couple weekends ago, our grumbling tummies begged us to stop for food before we returned home. We'd always wanted to try Falafel King previous times as it always looked busy and had been arou

Despite Panama is a cultural melting pot, I barely managed to scratch several of the cuisines available there. Among the reasons, back then, was the lack of a friend or volunteer to visit a specific restaurant and try the cuisine. I mean, I was more than
