Review Bellaggio Cafe - Vancouver

I loved the restaurant it had both a beautiful interior and exterior. It look a while before a server attended to us and a little longer after we ordered. But the food was good, I loved the soup of the day. I had the seafood linguine with pomodoro sauce, they put a good amount of seafood in it unlike other places which was great. The bread and tacos were really tasty too. Bottom line go there!

Was OK. A bit inconsistent in serving size. Waitress also gave us tea instead of a Latte. We didn't mind but she definitely could have paid a bit more attention.

One great place for desserts overlooking Canada Place and the Pacific Ocean in Downtown Vancouver. Though they do serve alcohol and gourmet meals - we were there just for the desserts and were not disappointed. Our order for Coppa Cioccolato, Coppa Canada, Coppa Amaretto and Chocolate Lava Cake was served relatively quickly and looked delicious to say the least! They tasted equally good if not better and we found the serve sizes worthy for the prices except for the Chocolate Lava Cake which in our opinion was not worth the price. The cafe is furbished nicely and don't forget to see the artifacts and paintings adorning it's walls.

We tried to go to the new tavern in Marine Building but as soon as we opened the door, we''re greeted with very, very loud, noisy and offensive environment. Pity for all the sthgaraff. So, we ended up at this Bellaggio Cafe. Quite, relaxing and great service. The British guy from Manchester was so accommodating, tried to make you feel important. It's Happy hour menu and all the four dishes we ordered, all under $10.00. Mussels, Pasta, Calamari and Margherita pizza. They're ok, the stars are for service.

Friendly staff. Good menu with great.options for the whole family. The pasta was particularly tasty. Upstairs, there is a kid's play area with toys and a doll house. This restaurant is located beside the Vancouver Convention Center.

Exceptional location. Prices are higher but you get a gorgeous view with a good place to people watch. Tiramisu cake and macchiatos were delicious. Service friendly.

$18 for store bought, pre-frozen chicken strips? No thank you. Food came cold. Waffles were soggy and service was slow and inefficient. Will never come back here again.

Nice little place to sit down and enjoy a meal or dessert. Great selection of gelato. And good...ish views of the harbour and the cruise ships.

My wife and I dropped in to drink some coffee and enjoy the view... The view was good... Coffee was awful - we even left the caps untouched. The server was haunting but lost interest in us as soon as he learned that we were not going to order food. We waited a long time for the bill, then for the machine... I would not recommend you to get here unless there are no restaurants to go but this is not the case. You can definitely find many nice and cheaper restaurants with the view around Canada Place / Convention Cen. / Coal Harbour...

This place has so much special meaning to my wife and I. Such great food and excellent service! I forget the French bartenders name, he was brilliant!! Thanks!

Best service and food in our two week visit to Canada. Obvious that owner is on top of his game and his team reflects his passion as they are awesome.

Excelentes saladas... Um risoto delicioso e um atendimento impecável!

I nearly did not enter Bellaggio today because I saw that breakfast service ends at 2pm - but Matthew stepped out the door as I was walking away and said that it would be no problem. I have to admit that the service is incredible, quick, and the food delicious. Well worth a visit.

Great service, great food, fascinating owner-make sure you talk to him and find out his incredible achievements. Definitely a place I would frequent if I lived in Vancouver.

Setting wonderful, food average, service terrible!

Excellent place to have dinner. The vegetarian pizza was yum! Service was good. Staff is very friendly and pleasant. The view from the restaurant is breathtaking at night. <br/>So it's overall a good place to spend an evening.

My team had our Christmas team lunch here. The last time I was here was back in 2013, so I wanted to see what has changed since then. What I ate: Linguini Pescatore – sauteed prawns, smoked salmon and pacific cod tossed in our pesto white wine cream sauce ($23.95). Although it looks like this dish is full of flavour it was on the bland side. I had to liberally sprinkled Parmesan cheese (seems like it came from the Kraft bottle) and chili flakes to liven up this dish. The smoked salmon was good!

Had lunch there today. My Chicken Mama Rosa pasta was bad and the service poor. Will not return.

Worst experience ever!. Food 0 - worst ever<br/>service - 0<br/><br/>I ordered the fish and chips ..the worst, highly not recommended. My gf ordered a chicken salad which took 45min.<br/><br/>The most rude server he wouldnt give us his name. <br/><br/>I rather eat at mcdonalds the experience they have sirpurseeds this place

This place has redeemed themselves. I've been wanting to write this review for a while but haven't gotten around to it. Long story short, a while back I went with some co-workers for lunch...A server dropped a drink on the table and as a result the broken glass had cut my hand. We weren't pleased with the way the situation was handled and wrote to the management. The woman (sorry forgot her name) who got back to us was incredibly professional and handled the situation in such a positive way that we returned and have gone back since. Accidents happen, but it's how you handle them once done that is important. She completely stepped up and that is rare.<br/>The patio is beautiful and on one evening they had live music which was enjoyable. They have great drink specials and nothing is better than sangria on the patio. The food is delicious and you can't beat the view. Clearly management cares at this place and it shows!

Food was good. Nice patio. Good service. The drink menu/website is riddled with spelling errors ex: Caesars and Stolichnaya :)

Keep walking and don't stop. Daughter's carbonara was so salty, she couldn't eat more than two bites. There wasn't an egg yolk. My angus burger was so cold, the cheese was harden by the time it was served. Caesar salad according to Bellaggio means iceberg lettuce. We were sitting near the kitchen and could easily see the meals sitting on the counter. The average wait for any meal to be served after the "chef/kitchen staff" placed it on the counter was10-15 minutes. Cold meals are status quo for this place. My husband said to tell the staff. I decided to tell every concierge I meet while in Vancouver about Bellagio. I told 3 concierges tonight and will tell more before we leave. Comment cards will definitely include a don't recommend for Bellagio.

Pleasantly Surprised. So we had a bad experience with Mahony & Sons and walked a few doors up to try this place out. It doesn't look like much from the outside but it's pretty extravagant on the inside...squishy chairs, Italian prints everywhere but still simply done, it was quite nice inside.<br/><br/>We went in the wrong door but the bartender directed us down and a server immediately attended to us and had us seated by a window with a view into the kitchen as well. After about 5 minutes we realized she'd cleaned our table and forgotten to hand us our menus but that was fine because 2-3 minutes later she was back to get our orders and we joked about the menu thing (clean tables are more important anyway).<br/><br/>We ordered a couple of pops and a 16" fire cooked pizza that was half smoked salmon and prawn with capers and red onion (which turned out to be more of a caramelized onion not raw like most people do) and half olive/goat cheese/sundried tomato. The pizza took 20 minutes to cook, which was fine, and the toppings weren't overwhelming on the pizza, just a nice light dusting of ingredients. When it arrived somehow they'd forgotten the sundried tomatoes and the capers. We asked the waitress about it she apologized, went to the cook, and got us two little metal gravy boats loaded with salted capers in one and sundried tomatoes in the other. We must have gotten twice the amount normally put on the pizzas. Honestly it's better that way...we loaded up our slices with the appropriate topping that'd been missing and picked at the rest until they were all gone.<br/><br/>Honestly, I'm glad we ended up there instead of waiting out the servers at Mahony's. Good service, good food, and we left stuffed. The server assigned to us was not always as attentive as one would expect with it so quiet but the poor woman was always busy, sweeping up after a couple of really little kids who'd been tossing food - that takes patience to do with as pleasant a demeanor as she had. Kids are messy and this place, as classy a joint as it's trying to be, does a good job of taking care of what goes with having families in for lunch and dinner.<br/><br/>I would definitely eat there again!

Had lunch - ordered frittata same as my friend. Mushrooms were missing in my frittata while they were included in my friend's. As well, the roast potatoes were burnt.

Looked great but empty restaurant so we thought great as we had a limo booked in 45 minutes. Food tasted nice but once finished it caused worst night in canada. Had to jump out of limo and head back to my hotel. Improve your food quality you have enough bad reviews to realise its bad food quality.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FOOD. My Boyfriend and I went there last night because we had tickets for a show at Canada Place. Walking up to the Bellaggio it smelt fantastic so we were excited and Hungry we arrived at 7:15 and ordered a drink and our meals. My Boyfriend ordered the special which was a steak and lobster tail. I ordered a cesar salad and Brusheta. We probably ordered our meals between 7:20-7:25, He ordered his stake medium rare, we waited until 8:20 to get our meal!!! his steak was WELL WELL done! and my cesar salad was lettuce! the brusheta had NO spices! and his lobster tail was thrown in hot water and boiled with no spices or butter... he had a bite of his steak. and didnt eat anymore he had a bite of the cold lobster and it was bland and he had a bite of his rice and it was ICE cold. he put his plate to the side and munched on my brusheta... when we complained about not only the wait but the food they made him PAY for his meal and only gave us 50% off! I will NEVER go back! such a wasted space for a wonderful location!
Sarah
The Worst!. Our waitress was terrible! She didn't know anything about the food on the menu, she was clearly hungover! And she was horribly presented. Her hair was down and not brushed or done in anyway, she had holes in her tights and a see through top. She brought us the wrong food.. Ah she was just terrible. We had to ask for water 3 times. Our breakfast wasn't very good, mine came out 15 mins after my partners cause she gave me the wrong order. Won't go back.

Save Your Money - Don't eat Here. The worst meal I have had in Vancouver in quite some time.<br/>We received better service from the hostess than our waitress who actually looked<br/>like she did not even want to be there to start with.<br/>We order Fish and Chips and a couple beers. The waitress barely looked at us during <br/>the order. When the order came she was gone! My fish was still frozen, I ended up having the hostess take it back to the kitchen as our server was no where to be found. They simply put it back in the fryer until<br/>it was REALLY crisp and re-served it to me! The fries were refried. Obivously they have not paid for a Chef but I guess could afford a cook.Save Your Money DO NOT EAT HERE.<br/>When my husband saw her at the door he asked her to bring over the bill. She asked what table<br/>we were at????????????? da! yours haven't you noticed?<br/>There was actually nothing remarkable about this place other than it is by the water. I’m sure we had<br/>with the WORST server on staff. As an apology for the fish, apparently the management was willing to offer<br/>me a coffee???

Brekkie with a view (not quite the Bellagio!). Came here for brekkie two days in a row in Vancouver and the location is fantastic spot - beautiful views that you can look out at as you wait for your breakfast. We each ordered omelette's and my fiance (being a health freak) made some slight 'amendments' to the menu requesting a vegetarian egg-white only with no cheese or hasbrowns - what she got she described as the best omelette she's ever had. My italian omelette (with a side of bacon) was also very good, they did forget to provide toast though. While it was a bit of a risk, we thought we'd try for day two and headed back the following morning. It was pretty busy and service was pretty slow, they also brought out hashbrowns when requested not to but apologised advising the kitchen was getting a bit frantic. Omelette was still amazing, views were beautiful and made it a great wee spot for morning breakfast.

Great Italian Food!!. Myself and my husband went for dinner to the Bellaggio on Thursday night. We decided to take advantage of the patio, which has an amazing view. We ordered fire prawns, calamari and a pizza and seafood platter main course. The food arrived really quickly even though the place was busy. Starters were absolutely amazing , thin crust pizza full of flavor and seafood fresh and delicious. And you must try the homemade tiramisu, it's to die for!! Our server was very friendly and professional. All over we were very happy and will definitely go back!

Fantastic Breakfast. Myself and my partner chose to have breakfast at the bellaggio last week upon the recommendation from the concierge at our hotel. It was a beautiful sunny morning so we sat outside to take in the view and to take advantage of the warm weather.<br/>We were served straight away and it wasn't long before we were sipping our lattes and tucking into bacon and eggs (sausage in my partners case)!!<br/>Our server was very friendly and efficient, she was also very helpful with helping us plan our upcoming trip to Ireland being Irish herself.<br/>We frequently visit Vancouver and will definitely go back to dine at the bellaggio. And would highly recommend others to give the place a try.

Excellent food and service. All pizzas are now $10, I got one that was worth $17 down to $10 and to be honest I would have paid the $17. It was a Delicious Italian style pizza, fresh ingredients and tasty toppings. I would highly advise all you pizza lovers to give it a try.

Horrendous. I had walked by the Bellagio at the Convention Center a number of times and considered going in, and finally found my opportunity. If I could take it back, I would.<br/><br/>I ordered salmon - my fallback meal, and one that is an easy barometer for restaurants. It's very difficult to do salmon poorly, it can be bland at times but is rarely bad. This was the exception. The piece of what used to be fish had been 'cherry smoked', aka seared until all it's moisture had evaporated. There was a slimy layer of skin and an even colder and slimier layer of 'glaze'... imagine a pan filled with congealed bacon fat and you can envision my lunch. <br/><br/>I turned to the salad for respite, only to find the 'house salad' was a pile of limp lettuce (iceberg or romaine? I couldn't even tell) drizzled in what tasted like watered-down pasta sauce - which would have been better on the pasta that also came with the meal. Who knows, maybe it could have made the pasta palatable... <br/>Lesson: When your measure of a restaurant is their salmon and it's done horribly, do NOT attempt to eat their sticky-yet-limp noodles.<br/><br/>I am a sucker for good service though. If the food is so-so but the service is fantastic, I will sometimes give the place another chance. Sadly, this was not an option. Not only was my server inept, she was palpably miserable. I can only assume it had something to do with the yelling I could hear from the kitchen. Assuming the shouter was the owner/manager (by the awful things being said to the staff), it is no surprise that my server seemed to be on a perpetual 'hectic first day of the job', despite my being one of three tables in the place. I can't imagine this establishment is able to find qualified people willing to work in such a poor environment.<br/><br/>My experience was so awful that I checked their website to see how they represented this restaurant. Falsely I knew, but I wondered what it would look like to someone who hadn't been there. If my food had looked half as good as it was represented to look, I would have left happy. <br/><br/>I rarely if ever suggest 'DO NOT EAT HERE'. I have a very forgiving palate. As such, next time someone suggests the Bellagio, I will suggest that they eat at Burger King instead.
Urban Jungle
New Ballagio. Horrible "lemon" mojito with brown mint and so watery! Undercooked, overpriced pasta. Staff was friendly but inexperienced. A great view.

Low quality italian. Urbanspoon's description is incorrect, they changed owners and menus. The location and service were excellent, but the food was Olive Garden quality, basically tasteless. They also had odd combinations such as a seafood salad that was actually seafood cacciatore, with fresh fruit on a salad. The pizza was low quality, it looked and tasted like frozen pizza. We also ordered a couple pastas, the pesto was almost non existant, the best meal on the table was the kids pasta ragu, which was halfway decent. It's not all bad, the location was good, and service was good too.

Confusion. We went here prior to the VIWF. The staff were ALL confused and mixed up for our entire eating experience. <br/>Food just okay. Martini's terrible. Washroom disgusting. Waiter tried but spent most of his time at what seemed to be the order computer and very interesting. One girl tried giving us 3 different orders that we're not ours. All in all will not try again!!
Bob
Great location, very good food and very attentive and friendly staff (especially Matt the Aussie). Would recommend!

GREAT NIGHT OUT! Went to Laziza last night for dinner. And I must say first off, the service was great! The staff was very friendly. They also suggested some great dishes. The lamb chops were amazing! My girlfriend ordered the "Chicken Shish Taouk" and the chicken was so full of flavor and juicy. I ordered the "Gourmet Grill" which included lamb chops and tiger prawns. The dish was amazing. Again the lamb chops were so full of flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!
Calgarian Diner
Ok if it was the only restaurant on the planet. We chose this restaurant because one of our group was vegetarian. She enjoyed her meal quite a bit. I was not impressed with my steak at all. It was the thinnest steak I've ever seen so I was not surprised when it came "well done" instead of "medium rare" since it wouldn't have been possible to have cooked it any less. <br/>We also ordered Mojitos (for $10 each) and they were absolutely horrible. The bartender clearly made them with Tonic Water instead of Club Soda so they were tart and undrinkable. Even when we sent them back the drinks that were supposed to be remade came back in the same glass and tasted the same. <br/>I would recommend trying anywhere else.

Very unique. My husband and I went on a date and we chose to eat in a different style of eatery. Laziza it was. The atmosphere was excellent, the food was so tasty and the service was awesome. A friendly staff made the evening really enjoyable. I recomend it for any visitors and locals. Oh, and the falafel was the best we ever tasted.

Came here a few days ago with a group of about 20 for a birthday party. Stayed for hours, spent lots of money and had an overall wonderful night. The servers and bartender were fantastic and I was surprised at how organized they were dealing with a table of about 20. Delicious food and great drinks, would recommend it to anyone. Thank you to the staff for a great time!

Fantastic service. I had the best service I've ever had at a restaurant and I eat out A LOT. Great recommendations and the food was fantastic. Not a single bad thing to say about this small eatery. Great find!

"Confusing" service but will be back!. I want to start by saying the food/ambiance is amazing and this IS a positive post! We were dining at Laziza for the first time this past weekend. We were instantly greeted by the hostess she was very pleasant and made us feel welcome, told us about the specials and her favorites… we were off to a good start...<br/>Then things got a bit confusing as we had a gentlemen server great us but seemed out of breath and “confused”. He was nice and took our drink/food orders at once then was gone for a while, after 5mins the hostess brought us our drinks and asked what we decided on ordering and again we had some pleasant interaction. Then the server returned and said “Oh you got your drinks?!” (“confused” again) and walked away. Pretty much after that we never saw our server again until it was time for bill and payment. We observed a bit and it seemed the hostess was a server too as she had her own tables but was running around and helping out as we clearly needed it, either way she and the bus boy made our somewhat "confusing" serving experience better and we will definitely return!

Best lamb I've ever had!. This restaurant is top notch! I loved everything. We had the sampler platter for an appy and it was delish . Also, the cauliflower appy is a must try (not something I'd normally order, but really glad I did). I had the lamb dinner and it was the best lamb I've ever had. <br/><br/>I'll definitely be returning.

Always Amazing. Been there several times to the point where even the waitress recognizes us by name. The food has always been stellar, the staff very attentive and even on a fully booked night, they try to accomodate folks without making you feel like a loser for not making reservations. <br/><br/>An awesome place in the Westend, where you can have a real conversation with your friends and not fight the clatter and din of the kitchen or the loud music. Very refreshing!! For the folks who have given it bad reviews, I would be very surprised if that is not a pattern for them in any restaurant. We have traveled globally and been in restaurants all over the world. It is not a picnic for those who work in food service, but we are very attentive to little detail and know the losers from the winners! And Laziza is an absolute winner, three times over!!
Manga
AMAZING BRUNCH!. So when I heard Laziza opened up on weekends for brunch, I rushed over there with two girlfriends in hand, and was so happy I did. The lamb sausage tagine was to die for. Full of flavour, bit of a kick, with veggies and a poached egg all cooked in a juicy tomato sauce. <br/><br/>For those who enjoy traditional dishes, you must try the Belila. Warm and cozy, just what I needed for my Sunday morning hangover :)

A Terrific Find!. I decided to try this restaurant based on what previous reviewers had written, and I wasn't disappointed in the least. The crispy cauliflower app was OK (but very creative), but the Laziza made ubiquitous hummus really sing. Their version was wonderfully creamy with a nice topping of sundried tomatoes. The beets & greens salad with cranberries and walnuts was terrific. For an entree, we shared the Chicken Bedouin, which had a real Moroccan flavor. All portions were large, with the exception of the Grand Marnier/white chocolate creme brulee, which was nonetheless delicious. The decor was warm and inviting, and the tag team of waitresses provided excellent service (and weren't hard on the eyes). The only slight negative was that the kitchen was a bit slow delivering our appetizers. All in all, a terrific meal at a reasonable (by Van City standards) price. I would definitely come back if traveling to Vancouver again.

Really nice little place. Delicious beautiful food. Just a little pricy but really good food. I will be going back.
I Love BC
I love this Hidden Gem!. I was in Laziza last night and actually was in for dinner on Sunday too, it seems I have acquired an addiction to the crispy cauliflower! We also had a few other recommended appies and all were great. The service was some of the best I’ve received in a long time, they were very busy but still were able to provide great service, were attentive and entertaining, even the bartender was chatting to us while making some very intricate and fascinating drinks!<br/>All in all we love this hidden gem and recommend it to everyone!

Don't bother if you like real Mediterranean food. I was excited to try this place because of the good reviews, we came on a groupon. The service was extremely slow. We felt they had forgotten about us for most of the evening. The food was imitation Mediterranean of the style that if you -drench everything in sun dried tomatoes- it will be Mediterranean. Not good. We left a tip that reflected our experience and will never go back.
Trish
Celiac vegetarian friendly!!. Laziza has an extensive gluten-free menu, much of which is vegan and vegetarian! I was thrilled to discover it, as dining out as a celiac can be trying and frustrating. The food is beautifully presented and the spices are divine. I had Koshery, a lentil and rice dish with eggplant and caramelized onions that was a perfect blend of spices. It was to die for. Reasonably priced for the quality of food and the nice atmosphere of the restaurant.

Agree with other US reviewers that "raved" about the food. We bought Living Social promotion & were BLOWN away with food. Had cauliflower appy N lsmb sausages as well. Chicken & seafood tanguine & gourmet grill for mains N shared flourless chocolate cake for desert. Everything was fantasstic. Highly recommended

Amazing!. I have never written a review for a restaurant or even for company/service for that matter. We dine out a lot in Vancouver and deal with many different customer service professionals so nothing usually stands out to me. However it has been over a week since our experience at Laziza and with my girlfriends encouragement we wanted to share our experience!<br/><br/>I wanted to take my girlfriend and her parents out for a great evening at a restaurant that had many gluten free options since my girlfriends Mother has eating restrictions. I found Laziza on line along with great reviews so I made a reservation, I asked for a nice table and the lady I spoke to said she definitely has a favorite table and will make sure we get it. As we arrived we were greeted and sat instantly at a table by the window, since it was a beautiful night the window seat was perfect! Once we sat we were greeted by the same lady who I spoke to on the phone, to my surprise she greeted me by name and when handing us our menus she automatically gave my girlfriends Mom a gluten free menu! It seemed from our brief conversation on the phone which was 5 days earlier she remembered me mentioning our gluten free needs! From that moment on it was one thing after another that she and the rest of the amazing staff did to make us feel so taken care of and very welcome there. Our server who I assumed was the owner but later found out was the manager/server helped us choose ALL our drinks, appetizers and entrees, she was very informative with the menu and you could tell she was genuine when explaining her favorite dishes. We were glad we listened to her as our meals were amazing! Favorites definitely were the Appie Sampler, Cauliflower, Lamb Sausages and Chicken Tagine. All in all we were continuously impressed with the food and customer service from all the staff that you don't find often anymore, even my girl friends Dad who seems to be skeptical of "waiters " as he stills calls them was impressed and had a great conversation about travelling with our server! Judging by the vibe in the room I knew we weren't the only ones who had an amazing night!<br/><br/>We will definitely be back!
Adam
Great food...wine list is expensive. Great food! Very tasty and healthy. Wine list starts at $40 and up which is a little pricey for this kind of neighbourhood restaurant on Davie St. I'm all for great wines, just want more of a selection on price points. Regardless, I will go back to this place as the food is fantastic.

Love the ambiance. A few co-workers and myself went to Laziza last night for the first time. The food was amazing and so well priced! I believe the place is under new management. We had the opportunity to chat with the new manager (she was lovely) and she recommended the appetizers for us to share. We shared two starters, the crispy cauliflower (WOW) and the Mezza sampler. For my entree I tried the Saffron chicken wrapped prawns and was very impressed. All in all, the food was great, service was great, price was great, I will go back :-)

Chicken Bedovin - Sauteed Chicken Breast, Dates, Apricots, Figs. Awesome dish! Great composition of textures and savory favors. This one lives in my dreams! Going back for seconds!<br/><br/><br/>-----29 Dec, 2011-----<br/><br/>Hummus. Authentic and tasty!

MY BIRTHDAY DINNER. We were already huge Fans, of the great food and service at Laziza, so much so ,that it was an easy choice for me to introduce this little GEM of a restaurant to my friends.<br/>The service was impeccable, and unobtrusive, and the food was OUSTANDING *****<br/>The guests that were invited are huge foodies and are hard to please.<br/>Hassan and Rick bowled us over with there delicious food and attentive service.<br/>As an employee of the 2 best Hotels in Vancouver, I appreciate their attention to detail to excellent SERVICE <br/>and EVERY PLATE was BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!! <br/>I love to see a new establishment where there is so much PASSION, for what they do !!!!!<br/>We had so much Fun tasting each others'<br/> dishes, and there were many groans of pleasure as we did so !!!!!!<br/>Thank-You , so much for an excellent evening !!!!!!!!<br/>I gladly give this Gem 5 STARS *****<br/>PS...Guys I hope we weren't too loud!! <br/>We will see you soon !!!!!!

So good!. All I could say during the meal was "holy crap, this is amazing". <br/>I can say, without hyperbole, that my meal of chicken and crème brûlée (with the complementary pita chips to start) was one of the top 3 meals I've had in the last year and a half.<br/>I truly enjoyed every aspect of this restaurant. The decor is welcoming, the staff are incredible and the food is wonderful.

A WoW Experience. To be honest this my first review of a restaurant ever. <br/>I Usually only do verbal recommendations but after going to Laziza and experiencing the food and the atmosphere I really felt like I wanted to share this experience more than just verbally. It was absolutely amazing. The staff was very calm and professional, They really had us in mind and made sure our experience at Laziza was great.<br/>My partner had the chicken Bedovin which was so unusual and tasteful dish and myself had the Lamb Shank and we shared 2 appies the Artichoke Salad and the crispy Cauliflower. To put this very simple and easy this restaurant was very nice and I will definitively recommend it. Keep up the good job and I will see you guys soon enough :) Thanks.

Very fresh. I enjoyed Laziza's fresh approach to food. The salad we had was very good, as was the lamb. The staff were competent if not overly friendly. I thought this place had very good value for money.

Laziza is definitely Laziz. I have been to this restaurant twice, and both times, the food and the service has exceeded my expectations. I am not a big fan of lamb, but the Merguez sounded very tempting.. and it lived up to its expectation.. The serving size was good, and the taste was excellent.. My wife, who is not a fan of red meat, loved their Shish Taouk! <br/><br/>and the service was excellent, and the price was very reasonable for the ambiance and dining experience.. <br/><br/>we would definitely come back again..

Delicious and Healthy. I look for fresh and healthy when I eat out. I cannot eat foods with gluten or casein; nevertheless, I found many choices on the menu. The duck was a treat as well as the tabbouleh (with no gluten). I enjoy Mediterranean foods, and the food served here was the best in my experience. Everything served was fresh and pleasing to the eye. It was a very pleasant and delicious dining experience.

Wonderful birthday celebration!. We (8 of us) celebrated my birthday at Laziza. It was our first time there and we will definitly be back! Dutch and her staff treated us very well - lots of little touches that helped to make my birthday extra special. Everyone in my party completely enjoyed the food, beverages and the ambiance. A big "thank you" to Dutch & the staff - we wish you much continued success!!!
Food-voice. Independent Opinion
VERY ENJOYABLE. I don't have anymore to add to what have already said here, most of the reviews are good to very good. I agree with them and I enjoy very much for the food and services.<br/>Here is what we ordered:<br/>Beet salad, scallops and lamb chops:<br/>The Beet salad is very fresh and the dressing is just right; the scallops is delicious with a touch of orange sauce; the lamb chop cooked to almost perfection as ordered medium; served with mint sauce. (Far better than Hart House on Burnaby, when I asked for mint sauce for the Roast Lamb, the server doesn't even knows what I talking about and don't have. -see review under Hart House Restaurant in Burnaby)<br/>I don't particularly like go to that part of town for dinner due to the surround and the local atmosphere, but I feel very comfortable as soon as I walk in to this restaurant. The place is very clean and the décor feels very peaceful. The serve staff seems to be quite friendly; I really enjoy my dinner here and definitely will be back.

Exceptional. Amaizing food at reasonable prices. The Babaganough is out of this world. Great presentation. Great atmosphere. Great service. I can't go often enough. You must try this place. Be prepare to be pressed.

Goodness. Delightful. <br/>welcoming atmosphere.<br/>honest, authentic connection from the staff. <br/>the food, as my mom would say - ang sarrrraaaap. carnivores: lamb chops.<br/>wine drinkers: ask the server.<br/>all: enjoy.

Laziza. I get what they are trying to achieve and for the most part they've nailed it, however, the food is not good. Not tasty, not authentic tasting...the olive dis is one green olives with pimento only. The waiters are attractive and attentive, the drinks interesting and well priced but, the food.....beef up the potions and taste before serving.

Slow service with no apology. My friends and I came here on a Saturday evening to celebrate a birthday. The decor is simple and beautiful but I sat near the door and had to wear a coat and scarf the entire time. Hello, need a better door jam here.<br/><br/>We were offered water and/or sparking water but no drink menu. The birthday boy had a cold and didn't want any alcohol but had they offered a drink menu I would have bought him a wine or beer.<br/><br/>We were offered a small plate of homemade potato chips for nibbles. Light, crispy and salty with a vinegary tang.<br/><br/>We ordered the meal for 4 which included appetizers and the entree dish.<br/><br/>The appetizers were not outstanding, consisting of an eggplant spread, mild hummus, pitas and two different small salads. I felt this was enough to feed two people, not four.<br/><br/>Although the appetizers came after a timely 20 minutes after ordering, the entree did not arrive till nearly 45 minutes later. No one came by to see if we wanted anything else, a drink, more food, etc. I notice the other tables did not have food for quite some time either. Half an hour waiting for the entree, a guilty looking waiter asked us how everything was. Uh, how about apologizing for the delay or explaining why it is taking so long or offer us a drink list?<br/><br/>When we finally got the entree I couldn't possibly see why it took so long to make this dish as there was no fancy prep work on the plates except for a couple of pyramid-shaped rice mould on a dish. BTW, the saffron rice tasted like someone threw in a dirty dish rag while the rice was boiling - it was pungent to say the least.<br/><br/>The grilled lamb sausage, beef and chicken, however, were very tasty, aromatic, tender and juicy. For four people we each got one sausage, one beef skewer and two small small chicken pieces.<br/><br/>Overall, service was verrrrrrrrrrrrrry slow and I resent having to add more money to the parking meter even though I had already put in two hours. This simple meal should have had us in and out within an hour and a half at most.<br/><br/>I was put off that there was no apology, explanation or recognition of how long the food took to arrive at our table. My friends, nice as they were, put in the obligatory 15% tip but it was more out of pity for the sorrowful young inexperienced waiter than for anything else.<br/><br/>With the long wait and unexpectedly small portion I was hungry again soon after. This is not dinner, it is tapas. <br/><br/>If service had been better I might have come back to order their single menu instead of the menu for four.

Fantastic Food, Fabulous Prices. We decided to try this new restaurant, and are we glad we did. The place is really great -- the hostess "Dutch" is very friendly and pleasant, the staff are all friendly and helpful. The Food! Oh my! This is a place you really need to visit. Last friday we had the special, Filet Mignon for $15.95 -- it was awesome! We have been going now for about 5 weeks, every friday night and have never been disappointed. It is getting busier and busier as word gets out -- be there early to get a good table! The martini's are excellent -- $6 -- a great buy. I have never been so excited about a new restaurant before -- Davie Street has needed this for a long time. Ya Gotta Visit!

Great Find. This was a total chance find and one of the best restaurants I've ever simply walked into without knowing a thing about. The woman who owns the place, Dutch(?), was hands down the nicest host I've ever met at a restaurant. The wait staff are easy going, attentive, professional and friendly. The food was insanely good. <br/>Even had the very reasonable prices been twice what they were I would have still left more than satisfied. I'd recommend the 30 dollar dinner for two. Try the cocktail called the Turkish Delight that mixes black pepper vodka and strawberries. One of the best drinks I've ever had. Oh, all the meat is hormone and antibiotic free, a quality those of us in the states are used to paying a premium for. Not here though. The ambiance is brilliant as well. If I lived in Vancouver I'd eat here at least once a week.

Fantastic Dining Experience!. I went to Laziza for a Valentine's Day dinner and it was an excellent choice. This isn't another fast food joint on Davie but a decent restaurant with experienced and friendly wait staff, a comfortable atmosphere and food that lives up to the name of the place: laziza means delicious in arabic. I had the beef brochette and the husband had the artichoke salad and the lamb hushewi. The beef was a bit more well done than I requested but the rice and grilled veggies were excellent. The salad was very fresh and the lamb was perfection. We will definitely return to try the many mediterranean dishes including a veggie tagine. The wine list is small but the red Argentinian that was recommended by the waiter was great. I encourage you to try Laziza before the crowds start arriving.

Loved it!!!!. About time!!!!<br/><br/>Vancouver has needed a classy middle eastern food place for a while, this is it!!! Loved the food, the combos are amazing, great service, the pricing is right on the mark, great drinks menu and fantastic atmosphere. I will be back...

Exceptional customer service and good food that I will most likely come back here again to try their breakfast and pizzas ‘cause they looked so delicious on the table when I was on my way to washroom. =P They offer great selection of mediterranean italian food and this place is good for group dining.
SoftRockin' Revue
It’s a pretty upscale restaurant but serves some very mill of the road Italian food.

Overall: Not too keen on going back. Food is delicious, decor/ambiance is cool, and prices are great but the fakely-chipper hostess, long wait-times, and lack of apology/customer-service doesn’t make me want to go back anytime soon. 6/10 <br/>

I think I ate one of my favourite pizzas in Vancouver at Bellaggio Cafe, the Vancouver Convention Centre location. The restaurant is a nice location and has a nice view looking out on Coal Harbour.

while I was joking about how I might one day light something on fire by accident with the candle… it actually happened to the table beside me!!! O.O Someone’s tissue caught on fire but the server came over right away grabbed it and stomped on it phew!

DAYUM! This is one expensive burger! Did it measure up to its price? Salmon was kinda dry and let's just face it, it's just a plain salmon burger with the regular works. Nothing exciting, not offensive, but definitely nothing original or out of this world and definitely not anything to justify the price. Fries were tasty and crunchy but not cut in-house and tasted like the regular frozen kind from the supermarket.
Robin
It’s definitely a very nice addition to the neighbourhood restaurant.

As soon as we got seated, we were greeted by the friendliest server in the West End: Todd. Gotta love Todd. He really made the experience memorable with his easy charm and excellent suggestions. He made everything on the menu come alive for us and we basically ordered everything based on his recommendations. Starting with the wine, which he mentioned has been ordered specifically to compliment their menus. We had a bottle of Herder Meritage –  a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cavernet Sauvignon grapes. It was spicy and aromatic and simply delicious. If dining with more than just one person, I recommend the Mezza Sampler ($15). This is a combination of hummus, falafel, Tabouleh baba ghanouj, pita bread, pickles and veget

My coworkers and I came to Bellaggio Cafe in the Convention Centre for a few drinks and snacks after work. I’ve always walked past this place when I’m near the convention centre, but I never really noticed this place. When we arrived, we found out that there were 25% off appetizers until 6pm. Seeing that we arrived at 5:50pm, we had to get our order in right away. It sounded like a great deal! It was a nice day, so we sat outside on the patio. A  few of my coworkers shared a pitcher of Sangria and it was perfect for 4 people. There were a good amount of berries inside to add some sweetness. Crispy Calamari  ($13.95) has the crispy fried calamari with tzatziki sauce and a lemon wedge. It’s a great size for sharing and the pieces were large. Smoked Salmon Flatbread ($14.95) has cream cheese, crispy capers and onions on top of the house made flatbread. The flatbread wasn’t exactly flat as it was quite puffy. It was expensive for what you get. With the 25% off on the appetizers, the prices

Skipping the crazy crowds at dim sum and the overpriced Mother’s Day hotel restaurant buffets, mom and I decided to have a quiet lunch, just us girls at the waterfront. I picked Bellaggio Cafe at the Vancouver Convention Centre with a gorgeous backdrop of the water, the north shore mountains at the iconic water drop sculpture. Bellaggio Cafe, Vancouver Convention Centre, 26-1055 Canada Place, Vancouver The service was speedy and our orders were taken right away. We picked a pizza and a sandwich to share. I know it’s Mother’s Day but my mom still let me pick my favourite pizza topping, that’s how awesome she is. Hawaiian pizza, Bellaggio Cafe, Vancouver Convention Centre, 26-1055 Canada Place, Vancouver I went with Hawaiian, the ham and pineapple: the best combo of sweet and salty. The pizza was still bubbling hot from the oven when it c

Laziza is a welcome new addition to the Davie Street strip in the West End of downtown Vancouver.

Maybe it was the fact that it was attached to the convention center, and seemed a little more touristy. I can't say exactly, but I can say within one bite my concerns were realized. The poor salmon, already dead, was brutally overcooked. The lemon dill sauce was neither lemony or dilly; in fact it was oddly sweet as if I got a different sauce than I ordered. And there was a random chunk of slimy skin on the bottom. It was accompanied by a "house salad" which consisted of a pile of lettuce and a little vinaigrette that tasted more like watered down marinara, and a bunch of pasta that I couldn't eat.

...Laziza has added pomegranate to the flavour and texture profile of the dish. The texture of Laziza's baba ganouj was smooth but the pomegranate fruit added a crunchy texture to the baba ganouj that gave the dish some depth.

I was fortunate enough to be among some fellow bloggers invited to a tasting event held by a new-ish Mediterranean restaurant on Davie â€" Laziza . Just to give a bit of background on the restaurant, according to the press release, the menu is inspired by the regional classics from Lebanon, Morocco, Greece and Italy, but with a twist of course. They also seem to use quality ingredients as free-range, hormone-free tenderloin beef, chicken and lamb, and many organic ingredients (but don’t mistake that as the whole dish being organic though…just certain components). Now after reading that I would think their prices would be pretty up there, but if you take a look at their menu you’ll realize they’re not. Now does that mean the quality and taste of the food are not up to par? I’ll soon find out. As you can see the decor is definitely modern. It certainly had touches of the Mediterranean with its blue and brown/tan theme. It was v
