Beautiful decor inside. Especially with the chandeliers, makes it feel like a fancy pub. A few arcade games in the corner, spacious layout between tables, not blazingly loud music.
Food and drinks wise, there's a good selection of beer on tap. My friend tried the wine and was not impressed (it's like complaining about the chicken at a steakhouse - point taken but not relevant).
The food is actually quite good. Great presentation and flavor. I had the pork and shrimp dumplings. It's definitely above average for food around the area (not just pub food standard)

After 10 pm they have a dj, but to be honest I didnt like the music. The place is clean and prices are ok. I think they need more staff.

Loved the burger and rosemary fries đ€€ Delicious lime Margaritas and to finish off dinner was a yummy fresh warm toffee cafe with ice cream! Timely and friendly service đ bonus new pinball and games to play too. Definitely would recommend going!!!

I have been coming to the Lamplighter for years on Wednesday nights for the awesome world class pinball tournaments!! I think the new renovations look great, I just wish they kept all the pinball machines together and added one or 2 more. I would hate to see the tournament not survive because to many people come and there is not enough games to play making for long wait times. Also the chicken Katsu sandwich is banging!

Lamplighter always has great atmosphere and everyone that works there are amazing. Love the pinball tournament they put on on Wednesday night with free play on the pinball machines. Would love to see them get a couple more pinball machines for the tournaments.

Really neat place to go watch UFC ect...it's turns into a night club sorta which is fun. I gave it 2 stars because the bouncer are on a power trip being mean for no reason and kicking folks out for no reason. Disappointed....

Went with a buddy for a few beers, we're both in our thirties and soon realized it wasn't our jam the later it got. Good beers and chill environment in the day - turns more into a night club at night.

There was no seasoning on my burger whatsoever. Moreover I ordered a Margherita because it was on special but what I got was basically slightly alcoholic lime soda water. I was a little disappointed.

This is the worst bar I have ever been to. I literally just downloaded the Yelp app to write a review for this place. What happened was me and a group of friends showed up looking for some beer and food. We ordered 2 beers and then we're told to get food from our waitress. So we went back to our table and we're told by multiple different waitresses who were giving other people their food that they were not our waitress and we need to wait for our waitress. 20 minutes later our waitress shows up and says they cannot give us food because the table is now booked for 7. It was only 620 by then and we were asking for food at 6. Overall the waitresses should have let us know if they couldn't give us food instead of beading around the bush for 20 minutes then telling us sorry no food for you. Also to top it off their bar tender kinda came of as a dick and did a shit job pouring our beer giving us a 2 inch thick head on a IPA. Overall definitely the worst experience at a bar I've ever had. Never going to this place again. Also ps if it's your birthday there are no specials our deals. If you ask the bartender or waitress will look at you like you are an idiot.

The food and drinks were top knotch! Some of the best food I had while on vacation. Very impressed with the affordable prices. Also, Miranda was our server and she was the best one I had in the city while in Vancouver for my vacation. You should highly consider giving her a promotion! She was very helpful on getting directions to other places as well as the best customer service!

Good atmosphere, great beer selection, nice location. The bar tender didnât seem to enjoy his job. I was sitting at the bar, he seemed overwhelmed, Not friendly, I had to ask him to bring me the menu for appetizers. Or something to eat. He gave me a menu and all of the sudden he tosses another âhappy hour menuâ on top while I was reading without saying a word. Somebody has to understand what the word hospitality means when deciding to work for that industry regardless if itâs a temporary or permanent job. Of course I didnât tip this guy. The two stars are for the bartender who actually seemed to care and fix the awkward delay in getting a pint after a long day to watch the woman's gold medal game. The two milenial waitresses seemed inconvenienced by me and my two mates presence and walked by a good dozen times over 15mins without even greeting us. Is this what tipping and 15$ min wage will get us? My family has been going here for 30 years and I was very put off by this. Really shoddy service for a landmark establishment. Invest in some training people, your paying clientele depends on it.

This is a great place in regards to the atmosphere. The service however, was absolutely horrible. I sat at the bar, in plain site of the bartender. Took 5 minutes to ask if I wanted a drink. Good thing I wasn't hungry because there never was a mention of a menu. The tables around me had great service. There was a server at the table every 5 minutes. I finished my beer and patiently waited for over 10 minutes to ask for my bill as the bartender cleaned wine bottles while he was less than 10' from me. I was also here yesterday, sitting at the bar, and watched 3 different couples sit beside me, and walk out because nobody came to serve them. The servers seem awesome here, but the bartenders are absolutely clueless to their surroundings. Management needs to make some changes. I will not be back.

I was at the Lamplighter last night for the first time in 5 years and had a horrible experience with one of its staff members. I was sitting at a table with some friends for a birthday party when the table next to me smashed a glass on the ground. A gentleman came over and started sweeping it up with his feet at which point I said "Hey don't worry about that they will come sweep it up, I don't want you to have glass stuck to you". The gentleman got seemingly upset for no reason and informed me that he was a staff member and pointed it out on his shirt. I said I didn't realize but he continued to berate me for now reason. I then went to the washroom and on my return he was standing close to my table staring me down. At this point I was upset and decided to flip him off and he immediately came up to me and assaulted me and grabbed both my arms behind my back and escorted me out. I did not fight whatsoever and as soon as he had me outside I think he realized he had made a big mistake and ran back inside before explaining the situation to the other bouncers. I explained the situation and they couldn't believe what had happened. My friends from the bday party, about 12 people, all came outside and couldn't believe the situation either. One of the bouncers escorted me back inside to get my jacket, unfortunately I was not allowed to finish my drink. All 12 of my friends/acquaintances left the bar with me after the incident. On top of everything, I have a previous shoulder injury(Snowboard accident) and woke up to extreme pain from a completely unnecessary attack. I will never go back to this establishment and I will be looking into launching a full complaint and possibly legal action.

It was my first time at the lamplighter and had high hopes for it because it's part of the Donnelly Group chains. I was on a VIP guestlist and was charged for cover while the others on the list were not charged at all. If it's a flat rate of $6-$8 per person for cover, great, charge it. But stay consistent within the guestlist. Atmosphere was average and the drink selection was large. Will not be back to the Lamplighter or to another Donnelly group chain. There are plenty of other pubs in Gastown that are worthwhile.
