Review The Keefer Bar - Vancouver

This is my favourite cocktail bar so far. I love the combination of Eastern and western cultures. It keeps a lot of Chinese medical clinic elements, mixed with modern lighting and decorations. The cocktails were excellent! We had ordered four cocktails, and each one of them was so tasty and unique. The food was very good as well. We didn’t have high expectations of the food because normally the bar food weren’t good. But all the dishes were on point. Highly recommended this place!!

Fun, moody lighting and intimate seating makes this bar great for small social groups. The Keefer Bar adds a bit of Asian theme to modern cocktails with high quality ingredients. Each creation has its own characteristics. The drink menu inspires the patrons to imagine a story behind the witty naming of the cocktail. These tasty drinks will have you ordering more. Be careful though, it really adds up quick!

My favourite bar in Vancouver and I have probably been to all of them. I’ve been coming here for more than ten years now. The drinks are creative and not just for the sake of being creative, they actually are good. Glad to know they now have new summer drinks and they are all amazing.

Wanted to check out a cool bar in Vancouver, this was the spot! It’s located in Chinatown, but be careful if you are walking from gas town, there are some really sketchy areas around there. We went on a Sunday night so it wasn’t so crowded. When we got there they asked if we wanted to sit on either the bar side or the yard side. The yard side looks more casual and has games there, more open and bright, while the bar side is more moody and dark, with a super cool vibe. We decided to go to the bar side. We got the Tokyo drift and the fantasy island drinks, both were pretty and good 👍 but definitely on the pricier side, but I guess you’re paying for the atmosphere. Really enjoyed the concept of the bar and just the overall vibe. Definitely a good date bar.

The Keefer Bar was a true cocktail bar experience and I loved every bit of it. Best menu interface for cocktails and such a wide and impressive of cocktails selection available. The food was marvellous as well, the duck spring rolls, duck crepes and shrimp spring rolls all hit the spot! Definitely recommend this bar for anyone in Vancouver, one of the better bars I visited with such a cool ambience of Chinese herbal medication.

The place as a very good ambience, good selection of cocktails. We reserved a table in their yard, the service was super good. Their Happy hour menu is one of the best in the city and is available Mon-Fri 3pm to 6pm.

Went here for some pre dinner drinks. Very cool atmosphere, the seating situation is not ideal but good for smaller groups. The mini golf was a lot of fun, and the drinks were very tasty. Great spot to get some cool photos with friends.

As soon as you enter the dark corridors of the Keefer, time seems to slow for all the right reasons. A very intimate and calming atmosphere that is perfect for reminiscing with your closest loved ones. Their coconut gomme old fashioned is well balanced with a beautiful clear cube of ice. It was a very enjoyable experience sipping on a classic cocktail done well - which is hard to find these days. Visit with confidence.

Just great small place!! We loved drinks and some food. Highly recommend.

I never rate restaurants or pubs but my friends and I had such a bizarre incident at the Keefer Pub on Thursday evening (Feb 2, 2017) that I have to vent. We had dinner reservations at Kissa Tanto (awesome!) at 8:30pm so we went into the Keefer Pub for a couple beers beforehand (I have been to the Keefer maybe 10 times in the past). All good, the three of us found a spot at the bar and discussed a business deal we were involved in. We paid up and left. After a huge dinner and two bottles of wine (between five of us) and feeling a bit tipsy and full, we decided on one last beer at the Keefer (maybe 11pm). We walked in, stopped at the bar for a couple seconds (only one chair free), and then decided to sit at the first table at the back. We sat down, greeted the people at the table beside (8-9 people in town from Montreal for a convention) and waited for the server. She arrived and took our order of three beers. When she dropped off the beers she informed us that we had aggressively entered the pub, rudely bumped into one of her fellow staff, and that this staff member was quite upset. The three of us looked at each other in shock and told her very confidently that it wasn't us. She then argued forcefully that it was in fact was us. There was no convincing our server that we not only didn't bump into anybody but when we walked in we didn't even notice anybody until we reached the bar area. We asked if we could see this person to apologize. She refused several times to bring this person over and it was about then that we both realized it was time for the manager to intervene. Very quickly Navin Toor arrived to tell us the same story and we told him that it wasn't true. He left and then came back and said we were being accused of lying and we had to leave, and dropped the bill on the table. He then returned again with a slightly different story, that maybe we opened the front door and she was behind it. We acknowledged that this in fact could've happened, if she was behind the front door and we didn't see her. But we 100% DID NOT bump into anyone. We again asked to see this person but he refused. He then comp'd our bill, told us to drink up and leave right away. It was at this point that the table beside us came to our defence saying they had just met us (we are three guys from 40 to late 50's, all of us very reputable in our respected field's, never having had something like this happen to us) but that they believed us. Mr Toor then rudely told them to mind their own business and remarked that one of the females in their group was drunk when she arrived. As we left my friend Poul continued to argue our case with Mr Toor at the bar and as this was going on I decided to leave and walked to the front door. The front door that this employee was now claiming to have been tucked behind was in fact a full glass door that opened outwards. I came back in and pointed this out to Mr Toor but at this point he really didn't care. I'm still very baffled by this and why we were asked to leave. We weren't drunk, we weren't loud, we were dressed nicely, and we didn't touch anybody. We were three middle aged guys looking for a quick beer after a big meal. The group beside us was also confused by the situation, the continued changing story from the staff, and the rudeness of Mr Toor. They asked for their bill, gave us a business card, and were preparing to leave as well.

Great place and amazing atmosphere but the Asian fusion drinks just aren't for me. Also very pricey.

Our server was as helpful as she was attentive. The service, atmosphere and drinks were excellent. The drinks were propmt and exactly as perfectly described in the write up. We loved everything about this place. Thank you for facilitating beauty.

The Keefer Bar is always top-notch. The service is excellent, the ambience is perfect, and the drinks are incredible. It was a pleasure to return there.

kitschy unique setting, best classic and clever cocktails combined with the tastiest duck sliders ever make this a must try experience!

Amazing cocktail selection I haven't seen anywhere else. The people were nice and they were slammed but the wait for our drinks was not very long. Small selection but good food, I wonder if they change it up. Definitely coming back next time I'm in Canada

It's different but there are many other bars that keep us coming back. Keefer Bar doesn't have what it takes... At least for us and friends.
