Review Copper Chimney - Hotel Le Soleil - Vancouver

The food was amazing (very homely) and so was the manager. He was very welcoming. Loved the ambience. Loved the kheer. However, the waitress was rushing us alot. She even took the plate away while my friend was eating. I was really disappointed. Also bit expensive but worth the food.

Delicious food and incredible service! Servers were all really helpful and friendly. Loved that we had a main server, but all others supported so we had prompt service. All the servers were having a good time, you could tell they loved what they do. And the food. So good! Highly recommended. I’ll be back!

I tried the Chicken kabob (came with rice, garlic flat bread, cucumber salad... two dipping sauces), I also got a side of veggies (primarily sautéed fresh green beans with other veggies diced and mixed in). We ordered this as room service tonight, but I wanted to just go ahead and post this review because I LOVED this meal! Seasoned to perfection. I’ll be craving this in the future. I’ve never had Indian food before, but I am so glad I tried it tonight! Wow - so good! Thanks so much!

Delightful and simple amazing to say the least. Our waiter was Vladimir who was very warm and friendly. Helped us out with the menu and took care of us really well. We visited this place for the first time and I think this would be like a great treat day on the weekends. The food was really delicious, not oily or heavy, it was light, the spices were delicate and balanced and the overall experience was truly awesome

Super friendly service! Seemed to be a good place for a date night. The thalis dishes are made up of a great assortment, and the cauliflower is the best I’ve had.

I have been planning on visiting 'Copper Chimney' for almost 5 years. I used to live in an apartment on Hornby Street, but never had a chance or company to visit Copper Chimney. Today was my friend's birthday and we planned to have some good Indian Food. The first thing came to our mind was 'Copper Chimney'. The restaurant is the finest in Indian Cuisine. Really good Ambience. One thing to point out though is the chairs... They make you sit upright - not a fan. Out hostess was very helpful and cheerful. She helped us with our order. We ordered, Kulcha with Mango Chutney (must try), Cassava Fries (not great), Cummin Chicken Wings (very good). The beer on tap was fresh and refreshing. For main course, we ordered Vegetarian Thali, Three Way Kababs and Butter Chicken. What do I say about the Thali... It is the best in Vancouver, in fact in North America. The chicken kebab was the Best. Very subtle taste and flavourful. Butter Chicken is close to authentic taste from India. Not the kind of fake Creamy Butter Chicken you find in America. Overall, I can say that I will visit Copper Chimney again and will be a regular. Ambience - 9 (minus the discomfort of the chairs) Food - 9 Service - 9 Experience - 9

Incredibly disappointing experience. My friend and I went to the Copper Chimney during Dineout Vancouver and ordered from their standard 3-course meal for $45. The appetizer was so small compared to the plate they served it on, I didn't even bother to take a photo. I had the prawns but they were unexceptional, which was my first disappointment. I had the three-way kebab entree, as pictured. The salmon was so-so, comparable to what I can make at home. What truly disappointed me was the heavily marinated lamb sausage and dry chicken. I had expected a piece of lamb instead of two lamb sausages as the menu did not mention "sausage". Dessert (creme brulee) was just as awful. What really irked my friend and I was when we asked for the bill. Apart from the standard $45 dineout menu, we were also each charged $1.50 for hot water, AND forced to pay an 18% gratuity, even though we were a party of TWO people. I would never come here again.

We reserved a table here as our hotel was advertising 20% off the bill if you booked through OpenTable (although this unfortunately wasn't applied by the restaurant). It was OK, but bearing in mind the incredible selection of other Asian food on offer in Vancouver - and our curry-loving British background - it wasn't particularly special. We order the non-vegetarian Thali to share and overall the portions were fairly generous: our favourite was actually the courgette curry, so if anyone was thinking of going then I would maybe recommend trying the vegetarian one instead. Service was good and the restaurant itself is nicely intimate - a lovely space but based on the food alone I probably wouldn't recommend it as a must-visit.
