Review Amici Miei Italian Restaurant - Vancouver

Where to start! I have tried several Italian restaurants in Vancouver and I can assure you that this place has the best pizza in town. I was pleasantly surprised to find such amazing Italian food in West End. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic and the chefs were simply amazing, very friendly, warm and welcoming! I can't explain in words how happy I am but I'll definitely be back again! The price was more than reasonable for the quality. 100% would recommend.

Visited Amici Miei for dinner tonight and had an amazing experience. The service was excellent, and all of the food we tried was also great. Especially the Gnocchi and Tiramisu. Both are some of the best versions I have tried in Vancouver, and you must visit to try them when in the West End.

I'm Italian and I arrived here just few months ago. I found this Italian restaurant and I was curious so I went there to eat. The atmosphere was so nice, I really felt the Italian vibes! The waitress was really kind and outgoing. The food was EXCELLENT, IT WAS REAL ITALIAN FOOD. I can't wait to come back in this restaurant! If you want to try Italian food you should go there!! The prices are good, they're not high.

Pictures do not do the food justice. The new owner from Rome came out to talk to every table and cooks all meals herself. The bolognese was one of the best I've had. The service itself was very slow. With one waitress attending the entire place you can't expect anything speedy. Be patient. It's worth it. The free bread more then makes up for it and is baked in house.

This place is a hidden gem in West end! Really cute spot with super attentive service! The server (might also be owner) was Italian and was really helpful on our food picks. The food was VERY authentic, the pasta was so delicious, I personally loved the papadelle. We need more family style restaurants like this in our downtown community! Highly recommend!!

what a hidden gem of a restaurant in the area of Stanley Park along Denman Street..absolutely authentic Italian.. generous portions of really delicious and tasty food.. friendly atmosphere and such a warm welcoming..cozy atmosphere.. a must Italian cuisine restaurant.. in the evening at the entrance to Stanley Park there are spectacular views at this Beach Avenue and Denman Street a short walk from the restaurant..

Hands down the best meal experience in downtown Vancouver so far. Lasagna had perfect additional sauce on plate, truffle mushroom spaghetti was perfectly flavoured and the seafood pasta was light and delightful. Pictures say it all. Thanks for such a memorable experience. Total bill was about $75 for two adults and two kids.

Can't understand the hype around the food or staff here. Had a pasta and a pizza and both were failing way below expectations (based on review comments and also Price). Maybe the best pizza/pasta/Italian place on denman but by far not the top in town. Two stars for the Wine (Sangiovese Merlot) was great and the chef did come out to check.

This place was really good. Authentic and home made just like my nonnas cooking... only better (thankfully she is not tech savvy or I would have to beware of the wooden spoon). I will definitely be going back. The food is amazing and the renovated and have new management and staff so now it’s a really pleasant place to enjoy great food.

Chef Boyardee look out. You have competition. Very disappointing. The staff tried very hard to make this a good experience. Bravo to them. But the food let us all down. Don't bother.

My wife and I are frequent customers, always bustling, very friendly and the food is bar non the best on Deman. It's small, but intimate and we love it when the chef comes out to talk to the customers and see how their dinner was

Went here for a late lunch over the weekend. The restaurant has 20seats. Why I said late lunch was that, when we arrive it seems that the regular lunch was over. The table were dirty and it has not been cleared. The bangetts had crumbs and food on it still. There was only one lonely server to service this entire restaurants.
With that being said. This little Italian restaurant makes a mean pizza. It reminded me so much of Italy. I mean, I ate the whole thing. There was no left over. My wife had the spaghetti carbonara, which she said it wasn't too heavy. Hand made pasta is always good. Will need to go back to try other dishes.

I love it when I discover new little places with a whole lot of heart. There’s no question that’s the case at Amici Miei Cucina Italiana (1114 Denman St. 604-563-6610), in Vancouver’s West End.

Owners Manrico Serpente and Marcella Gentile told me they came to Vancouver last year for the very first time, from Abruzzo, Italy. It’s not easy to make such a move in mid-life. They’re truly delightful people and I wish them every success.

Amici itself is nothing fancy: the room is simply but cleanly furnished—and that very much reflects what’s on the menu. The fare is straightforward but the sauces are delicious. Amici’s Miei’s menu is divided into small tapas plates (which seem more generous than most) and pasta dishes listed by sauce style—as in red white and rosé. Most of the pasta is made in house fresh daily. Purchased pasta (more elaborate, Rigatoni and Fusili) is clearly marked on the menu.

Great pasta!. We finally have a great Italian restaurant on Denman. I really hope they become a mainstay.. The chef makes his pasta fresh and you can really taste it. It's been awhile since I've had fresh pasta this good. I had the chef specialty on the cream sauce section, I usually remember what I have, however, as the food is very authentic Italian, I can't remember the Italian name of my dish. I also had the meatballs for appetizer. Very yummy and great rosee sauce to accompany it. For dessert the chocolate flourless sprinkled with Baileys was good. I'll be back to try more on their menu for sure. Service was professional too.

-----09 May, 2015-----

Great pasta!. We finally have a great Italian restaurant on Denman. I got one of the pasta dishes for lunch and while the noodles were cooked properly the peas in my pasta were certainly not fresh, also it had very little sauce making it very dry to eat. Wasn't the worst but I won't go back

... lightest ravioli pasta wrapper I've ever had, a bit on the soft side, but very well done; generous amt of ricotta and spinach filling but a touch dry...
