Review Earnest Ice Cream - Vancouver

Mori
Sunshine & Ice Cream, how can you be mad at that. When we arrived the line up was about a block long, but it was moving along at a decent pace. We had the Mint Chip, Cookies 'n Cream and the Cherry God Cheese and it was delicious! The staff was super friendly - but since they didn't have seating available inside, when you got the the ordering and pay station, it did get a little cramped in there, but luckily we didn't have to be in there for too long to get our ice cream. Will definitely be coming back to try more flavours!

Covid restrictions are over but they still don't have seating and the wait line is outside the store... minus two stars because of that. Other than that the ice cream is delicious... I was hoping for more choices but the ones I chose were very good, whisky hazelnutis full of hazelnut pieces and delicious while the strawberry is average. Clean location and friendly staff.

One of the best ice cream places I have ever been to. I tried their cookies and cream, whisky hazelnut, salted caramel and blueberry cheesecake flavours. All of those were unique. I loved the whiskey hazelnut the most. It's so creamy and with a slight hint of whiskey and lots of hazelnut. Salted caramel had a burnt taste to it, I didn't mind it! It's definitely worth a try!

earnest ice cream - vegan raspberry 10/10 it tastes very rich and you can even get bits of raspberry seeds! the raspberries are sweet and it tastes very fresh! the flavour is smooth and creamy with the coconut base. it’s very refreshing and a perfect summer treat! great as a pint because it melts quickly. since it’s vegan it feels more like a frozen yoghurt consistency

Roasted coconut ice cream with walnuts tastes so good! London fog is not really my cup of tea. Very busy here but the servers are friendly.
Hyun Hyuni
Delicious ice cream! I had hazelnut whiskey and london fog (both recommended by the staff) and both were amazing 😋

We got there before the rush, which can go around the corner. This has vegan ice cream option too. I enjoyed the ice cream

i had high hopes but i found the flavors i tried to be underwhelming. the birthday cake was super sweet with no depth of flavour. i will have to go back and see if i can find a flavor that really wows me !
Yes. We,re Eating Again.
Earnest Ice Cream ended up being our first foray into the world of really, really good ice cream at the recommendation of the Rain City Scoop podcast. We stopped at the store on Quebec near East Second. I love the look of this place both inside and out. I am not sure when it became OK to spend $7.50 for an ice cream cone. The folks in the podcast took responsibility for this as millennials and said it may have started with Starbucks (not ice cream but just premium prices). I guess that I don't mind that much as it will keep us from buying ice cream every day and, at least, in this case, it means a very good experience. To be fair, the $7.50 was for a double in a waffle cone. This was some spectacular ice cream also. Marie chose Cookies and Cream and Salted Caramel. The available flavours change daily and are made in house. You can check their web site. In lieu of Vanilla, according to the podcast, they have what they call Sweet Cream. Artificial vanilla (99% of all vanilla) is a product which demands a process entirely unfriendly to the environment to produce. So Earnest has gone a different direction. We also tried the Vegan Chocolate Fudge Sundae. This is not only for vegans but for the 15 to 30 per cent of North Americans who are lactose intolerant. Stop pretending that you are gluten sensitive (unless your doctor has confirmed it) and recognize the very real possibility that lactose may be messing you up. Again talk to your doctor instead of just consulting Web MD. Your stomach and your friends will thank you! I chose Peanut Butter vegan ice cream for my sundae (coconut cream based) and again, spectacular! The sundae was topped off with lots of chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce and nuts and of course, fudge! Again $7.50 but we're not going to eat one every day, are we? The folks I spoke to here were friendly and enthusiastic about their product. When you go out for ice cream, make it an experience.

Earnest Ice Cream has 2 locations in Vancouver.  We visited this newer location after a brisk walk around the Science World area. It was a Saturday afternoon and was very busy.  We waited in line for about 10 minutes. They had quite a few different flavours available today.  We chose a ghost chocolate flavor and Earl Gray.

• Servers are very patient, cheerful and helpful which made my visit worthwhile<br/>• Everyone knows how their ice cream is like... simply irresistible, creamy texture & yummy!<br/>• Caramel sundae crunch: amazing! The walnuts in it are lovely! $7.50!<br/>• I would go back for more

Went to try Earnest for the first time and I 100% recommend going here. The London fog flavour is delicious and the customer service was perfect. Emily helped me decide on a flavour and was an absolute delight and super helpful.

I’ve been a fan since their very first year of opening. They never disappoint. But the only pints worth getting for me are London Fog and Salted Caramel. <br/><br/>This time I tried the vegan strawberry toasted coconut on a cone. Marvelous! Even mom loved it!<br/><br/>Give this place a try if you haven’t. No regrets.<br/><br/>Happy eating!<br/>

I love London Fogs. Put London Fog in a food item, and I’ll probably try it. A lot of ice cream shops make Earl Grey ice cream, but London Fog ice cream is harder to come by. The difference lies in the creamier vanilla flavour that is not guaranteed in the Earl Grey versions.<br/><br/>Earnest easily makes the best London Fog ice cream (or London Fog flavoured anything) that I have ever had. Earnest, please sell your ice cream to the rest of Canada!
Jurn
Really love their ice cream! I've tried Whiskey Hazelnut, London Fog, Matcha Green Tea and Cookies n Cream. There's a reason why they're always so busy!
Sarah
Overpriced, hyped up, long lines (depending what time of year you go) but inventive ice cream flavours. <br/><br/>Came during summer one evening, long lines as many took advantage (some took full advantage) of the free taste testing. To be honest, there should be either a limit of how many a person can taste test else people will taste test all of the flavours & the line will never move or two lines- one for people who know what they will order & one for the taste testers who would like to try every flavour on offer before making a big commitment to one.<br/><br/>Scoops are overpriced. The cookies & cream was worth it but the London fog was not. Great to see they have seasonal flavours so you have the chance to try different things once you eventually get through the line of the taste testers.

Love their natural ingredients and, of course, their ice cream! This has been our go-to ice cream place when we crave for one. We love almost all of the ice cream flavours. Always look forward to going back again for more and more!
Lex
Loved the old style brick building! The staff was awesome. Loved their creamy ice cream! Would recommend the earl grey and matcha as a yummy summer treat!
Ribs
Excellent ice cream, long lines, big price tag, slowish service, great local business, umm yeah Vancouver in a nut shell - just replace long lines with traffic and ice cream with yoga classes. That doesn't make sense sorry...I'm tired but I need to go back to work to pay for my mortgage.
W Wong
Delicious waffle cones and fun flavours make the line up worthwhile. I enjoyed my double scoop of London Fog and Butter Pecan, so many pecans were in a single scoop! If you eat it outside on a warm day, be sure to eat fast before it melts all over your hands!

“Earnest ice cream” is now a staple in Vancouver. Often after dinner, when you want to end on a sweet note, I find myself heading in their direction. And with multiple locations and a rumour with a new one to come, you can easily satisfy your small batch, artisan ice cream craving in a pinch. This is certainly the case when in the Olympic Village area.

Came here twice in a span of 24 hours on a recent trip to Vancouver.  The first time was on a Thursday sunny afternoon, and there was no one in line!  Second time I came around 930pm there was a long line going to the door, which moved super fast.  After we were leaving, we noticed that someone had gotten a piece of paper that said last ice cream, sorry!  This was just before 10pm if I recall correctly, so it would be wise to get there before the last few minutes to ensure getting your ice cream fix.<br/><br/>The first time I got their Rocky Road with a cone, which I enjoyed.  The second time I got their Matcha Green Tea in a cup, which I enjoyed even more!  Top notch ice cream.  Service was efficient too.  For $5 a scoop it's not the cheapest but well worth it.  All in all, recommended.
JL
I think I had one of the best ice creams I've ever tried in Vancouver during my 2 week stay. The blueberry cilantro is my favourite! I would definitely recommend this place to my friends!

My first time at Earnest and I wasn't disappointed at all! The service here is amazing, the atmosphere is lively, and the ice cream is delicious. <br/><br/>When we walked in, there was a long line up. However, it only took about 5 minutes before it was our turn (the servers were very efficient). The server  helping us was super nice! Even after trying a few flavors, she was still smiling and happy to assist us. <br/>I was stuck between salted caramel and whiskey hazelnut, but ended up choosing salted caramel. Salted caramel was perfectly sweet (not overly sweet) and the texture was creamy and even had a chewy feel to it. I've been to rain or shine many, many times and the quality at Earnest is definitely comparable. The only con I would have to say is that the cone isn't as crisp as the waffle cones at rain or shine. Despite this, the ice cream here is still great!<br/>The environment/ atmosphere of the shop was good too! The place was spacious with high ceilings and white tables and chairs. Although it was very busy, there were still spots available to sit down and chill with friends. <br/><br/>I definitely recommend anyone who loves ice cream to try Earnest!!

My lunch today from the Earnest Ice Cream food truck, while at the farmer’s market. Salted Caramel on top, Bourbon Peach on the bottom. The Salted Caramel melts too quickly, but the flavor is basically perfect. The Bourbon Peach has a more solid consistency, and was also very refreshing. There are so many more ice cream shops popping up all over the place, but Earnest is the one I’m most familiar with and keep going back to. I hear they’re opening another location soon, along Commercial.

I and my wife absolutely love this place!! My favourites are London Fog and Whiskey hazelnut. Everyone is super friendly as well. Great place to visit!!!

Not sure if it is investment theory or what, but I can't stop thinking about this ice cream I had when I was here. Mind you I'm from a small city in Southern Alberta and we don't normally have ice cream options, let alone an ice cream shop that would be open after 8pm on a Sunday night with a line up going down the street. I had the Matcha flavor ice cream (kid size was adequate for me) in a cone and it was the best I've had. Now I have to fly back to get some more. It was delicious and fresh and the flavoring was perfect.

I felt like I was cheating on my neighborhood ice cream shop when we decided to come here - shout out to Rain or Shine on Cambie, still love ya ;) But I haven't been coming to Earnest since RoS opened in my hood, and I like the flavours here just as much.<br/><br/>So, there are lots of gourmet ice cream in Vancouver now. What sets Earnest apart from the rest in my books?<br/><br/>1) Pints are packaged in glass jars so the ice cream remains a nice consistency in my freezer. Plus they give you a buck when you return the jar...which reminds me that I still have a dozen sitting in my kitchen.<br/><br/>2) Zero waste - they use washable dishes when you dine in, all take away dishes are compostable or edible.<br/><br/>3) Whiskey hazelnut, my fave alcohol in an ice cream? Gotta love it.<br/><br/>What needs work? Sundaes are too stingy. One scoop of ice cream, whipped cream, and a light dusting of toppings for $7+? C'mon man!

Earnest Ice Cream, in my opinion, started the small batch artisanal ice cream trend in Vancouver. They have 2 shops in Vancouver. One in the Kensington area and the other in the Mount Pleasant area. This post is about the newer shop in the latter location. Earnest Ice Cream started out as a modified bicycle with a portable freezer attached. They could be found at local farmers markets. It was started by friends who wanted to make ice cream while also being eco friendly. As well as scooping ice cream at both locations, you can purchase pints in glass jars. The jars can be returned for a $1 refund so they can use them again.

We've heard great things about Earnest for awhile so we finally had to try it. We ordered the whiskey hazelnut and maple walnut. We're in the minority here, but we didn't think the ice cream was anything special. It was good, but we don't think it's worth the long lineups, definitely over hyped by a number of people. Perhaps our expectations were too high, but we wouldn't recommend this place for ice cream.
SoftRockin' Revue
Like any kid (or dessert loving adult), I’ve a strong love for ice cream, whether it be soft serve, gelato, or something else in between. There’s been a lot of buzz about Earnest Ice Cream the past awhile, especially about the variety of the flavours that they have and the consistency of their ice cream. I’ve got to say, they did not disappoint.

I'm from Calgary and I thought village ice cream was the best ice cream that has ever graced my taste buds. I was wrong (and never thought that this was possible). Earnest ice cream trumps it all day every day (specifically their London Fog)! Loooove this place! Even had to come back a second time for a pint!

Took a day off to pick up H. Spent the morning running errands and doing work at home, but P reminded me that it's my day off, and I should go have fun. So, I went out to try coffee at Earnest Ice Cream:. $6.75. Ice cream and coffee should be a match made in heaven, but I did not enjoy it very much. Maybe I should’ve gone for the regular vanilla flavoured ice cream in the affogato, instead of whiskey hazelnut. It was too bitter.
Amanda Pang
The ice cream here is so good that I don't mind coming on the coldest day in Earth. They're also Vegan friendly. I tried their Vegan chocolate ice cream, and it was thick and creamy. What surprised me was that there wasn't any coconut taste, which is a common base for Vegan ice creams. I'm not sure what was in here besides chocolate xD it was really good. I want to try all their flavors. :P

London fog London fog London fog London fog! LOL<br/>It tastes so good! Screw the cones and cups. Get a pint and share it with your girl. Btw you get a dollar back if you bring the jar back.<br/><br/>Update:<br/>Tried the oatmeal and rhubarb, it's actually not too bad. Nicely done earnest!<br/>

Everytime I come here I beeline straight for the Pints counter and get a London Fog ($11/pint) .... I've tried most of the other flavours but this is still my favourite here
Domo Is Craving...
So I know Winter is here and talking about Ice cream might be out of season right now but who cares what season it is, everyone eats ice cream almost ALL the time throughout the year. My first time eating Earnest Ice Cream was at Granville Island, when I stepped foot in to Edible Canada and bought myself my very own salted caramel pint. When i had my first bite then, I already knew it was absolutely my fave ice cream ever. I've tried multiple places in the flavor of salted caramel, but I've narrowed it down and Earnest Ice Cream is still my favorite.Â
Alpaca Lunch
Earnest had managed to reinvent whiskey into something appealing to me. They turned me into a believer. The ice cream was incredibly rich, creamy and smooth, not the least bit icy or frothy. Besides having a delicious flavour that had just the right amount of alcohol, it was chocked full of whole hazelnuts to munch on. They definitely don’t skimp out on ingredients. Whiskey hazelnut remains one of my favourite flavours.<br/><br/>On this particular visit, Mamallama, Baby-Paca and I had just finished dinner nearby, our meal wasn’t particularly satisfying so we wanted dessert to compensate. Paying tribute to my Canadian roots, I got the maple walnut along with another one of my favourites, london fog ($5 for a single, $7 for a double). The maple walnut had a strong maple flavour and had chunks of walnut in it. It was good, but not as good and got a little sweet at around the halfway point. The london fog captures the lovely flavour of earl grey and you can see flecks of what appears to be tea leaves in the ice cream. It tasted strong yet not too sweet.<br/><br/>Baby-Paca and I had a short phase where we were obsessed with all things salted caramel, and during this phase we tasted the salted caramel ice cream at Earnest. The salted caramel flavour was too sweet and overwhelming for my liking. It was yummy in very small doses, but a whole scoop of it was just too intense. These were just my thoughts though, I think Baby-Paca enjoyed it.<br/><br/>Earnest uses fine quality ingredients, and they churn out ice cream that’s consistently delicious, though I think because they make their ice cream in batches, Baby-Paca and I have noticed that consistency fluctuates a tiny bit. Sometimes flavours are just a taaaaaad stronger or weaker than on other days, but the difference is very minimal. They’re on the pricier side, but their ice cream really is “seriously good.”

My friend has been requesting that we go check out this place ever since his friend gave him some ice cream from this place. It was around 10pm, but the place was lively with mostly young people enjoying their ice cream. It was a hipsterish venue, but kept clean, slick and modern. 10 flavours were written on the blackboard, as well as above the actual bucket of ice cream. The staff were really friendly, and she let my friend and I try out many flavours. But I have to say that the best was London’s fog. It was really strong and creamy. It’s speckled with what looks like real earl grey tea leaves… almost like eating a earl grey float.

It is no secret that Vancouverites love their ice cream.  This past year has seen a slew of new soft serve shops opening around town including Soft Peaks, UYU,  and Rooster’s.  But when it comes to the creamiest of them all, I would have to go with Earnest Ice Cream.  They simply have *seriously good* ice cream.  Like seriously.

We wanted to celebrate #international_coffee_day in earnest and try their coffee ice cream but a bummer!!. Both locations didn't have it available! Staff weren't helpful at all,,bad service! Yet we tried the cardamom ice cream on a cone and it was yummy!

Atmosphere 1/1<br/>Clean decor, small place with limited seating, hipster servers behind the counter. Great stuff, no complaints.<br/><br/>Service 1/1<br/>Super friendly and cheerful staff - what else can you be when you work in an ice cream shop?? I'd be stoked if I worked at Ernest<br/><br/>Food 1/1<br/>BEST ice cream ever. I come here every 4 months and load up on my favourite flavours. My favourites are oatmeal brown sugar, Tahitian vanilla, and the malt one (which I sadly have not seen the last few times I was there). <br/><br/>Price 0.5/1<br/>Bit on the pricey side, but as they are my absolute favourite ... I'll pay the price <br/><br/>Personal opinion 1/1<br/>Love love Ernest ice cream

Pretty popular ice cream place but for my first visit, I'm thinking it's a bit overhyped. Tried the Hazelnut Whiskey and the Toasted Marshmallow, both highly recommended by the locals (aka my sis and family). The cream was fresh and smooth but the flavours were simply too weak. There wasn't an immediate 'wow' moment at all - both scoops ended up tasting like plain (but good) vanilla. Had a sample of my sis' London Fog and it was a bit better, but nowhere near what I would expect gourmet ice cream to be. Pretty disappointed, actually. Nice place, though.

I am sorry for the poor quality photo but could I just say the whisky hazelnut is like, Oh My God good?!<br/><br/>Loved the slightly bitter and smokey flavour of the nuts paired with subtle yet definitely existential whisky flavour of the smooth and delicate ice cream!!! <br/><br/>I will be back......<br/>
Jordan
Best ice cream ever! The servings are generous and the flavours are plentiful. This place is always busy and lined up out the door. The craziness is the only reason why it doesn't get a 5 from me, but I guess it's a sign of a good business. Pints I think are a little overpriced...

I visited this branch in the afternoon. Although the lineup was long, I didn't feel the wait was long though. <br/><br/>I had tried both whisky hazelnut icecream and rhubarb oat crumble sundae. The whisky hazelnut icecream was very smooth and tasted and smelt great. The rhubarb oat crumble sundae was perfect that it didn't taste sour with a berry sauce. The oat crumble was crunchy!! <br/><br/>Oh man! I loved both of them! :) I wish I could eat their icecream everyday.
Justamorsel
Summary: I enjoyed Earnests Matcha Green tea Ice Cream but I still prefer their whisky hazelnut over the Matcha green tea ice cream flavour.
Candice Wingerter
Yummy ice cream and lots of flavours but we waited over half an hour!! I was sad to see them take their cones out of a box instead of making them fresh. Next time I go I think I would just get a tub of ice cream instead!
Jenn F (abeautifulzen)
earnest ice cream is a great place for small batch premium ice cream. their base ice cream is thick and creamy. it doesn't feel like there's much air beat into it. i had the london fog and a taste of the matcha tea both of which had perfect level of sweetness. the waffle cone is where the product falls down though. not quite thick enough, the cone cracked when i tried to push the ice cream down into it. however it wasn't very sugary which suited the ice cream well.<br/><br/>$11 a pint is a little steep since I've had similarly high quality small batch ice cream for less. however, they do have a variety of unique flavours and their base mix is the type of thickness and sweetness i prefer.
Leslie Rossi
I ordered the Salted Caramel and Peanut Butter and Jelly flavours. WOW, Bailey who works there recommended the peanut butter and jelly flavor and I tried it with no expectations and was blown away by how delicious it was! Ask anyone I know I’ve been ranting and raving about this flavor since. Personally I couldn’t eat a whole pint of it in one go, but I could do some damage. It also went nicely with the salted caramel, but let’s be real here what doesn’t go well with salted caramel?
Vinita Trieu
There's always SUCH a long line up at Earnest, no matter what time of day, rain or shine at either locations!! The line up generally moves pretty fast though. They only accept cash or credit card and you're looking at $5 a scoop which is relatively the same price at any gelato store. They always switch their flavors around and don't offer the same flavors every single time but most of them are super delicious (I've tried most of them!). All of the flavors I've tasted so far are super creamy and very flavorful. I would definitely recommend this to anyone :)

This new location is quite beautifully decorated. More spacious than the other location. We went there on thurs night at around 9 15 pm and were surprised the lineup was so long at this time of day. But we weren't gonna give up! Tried the blueberry lemon and whiskey hazelnut. They were both amazing and the scoop size was big and reasonable. Can taste the fresh blueberries flavour and I loved the whole hazelnuts in the ice cream. That was probably the best part.

Earnest Ice Cream‘s second location is on 2nd and Quebec St, which is close to Olympic Village. They create small batches of artisan ice cream with seasonal ingredients that will surely knock your socks off. You can get their ice cream as a single scoop or get a pint of it. The space really accommodates line ups and in the Summer, you will definitely see lots of line ups. Since it was on a weekday around lunch hour, it was not busy at all.
Jenny
Earnest is my ultimate favourite ice cream business. Waits can get pretty long when they only have 3 people working and slows down the service. Especially when it's the weekend, you'd expect them to have more people working so that people aren't waiting over half hour for ice cream. They have a larger space for more seating than their Fraser location that I go more often because they seem to serve a lot quicker.

I've been to the Earnest Ice Cream on Fraser Street a while ago, and was very impressed about their great selection of flavours as well as its amazing taste. This time my friends and I visited their second location in Mount Pleasant on Quebec Street and 2nd Avenue. As usual, I could see the long line up across the street even before arriving.

Beautiful location! So much more seating and logistics of regular long lines were considered when they chose and designed this place! First time trying a sundae from this joint and it was good! Rhubarb's sourness complimented the vanilla ice cream and the crumble topping added a needed difference in texture.<br/><br/>We never leave a location without a jar of Whiskey Hazelnut!!

I liked the decor and the atmosphere was good but I thought the ice cream was.....just ok. I was disappointed after reading all the hype.

Besides coffee, the two other words that are used quite frequently in our blog are “doughnuts” (Mike’s guilty pleasure) and “ice cream” (and mine). Ice cream is my favourite thing to eat and the recent hot, summery weather in Vancouver of late, has heightened my appetite for this cold, creamy dessert even more.

I'm not a dessert fan but I am slowly becoming one.  I really enjoyed this ice cream place but it was after Phnom Penh and Swiss Bakery so I was really tapped out, OK?  I wish I could have ordered two scoops or something.  The ice cream here really contested Bella Gelateria and it's hard for me to say who is better.  I enjoyed this location better because it is 100% hands-down a sit-down ice cream place.  The other place was a restaurant with a gelateria.  Oh, I guess I'm comparing ice cream to gelato... see I'm not a dessert connoisseur ;) Anyways I thoroughly enjoyed this place and will come back for sure.
Michael
Great ice cream in a good location near Olympic village.y new summer favourite is their fresh lemon flavour because it's so light and refreshing. Usually a long line up but worth the wait. Can also get pints to go if you want to enjoy at home.
Elaine
I love Earnest Ice Cream!!! Their London Fog and Milk Chocolate flavours are my absolute favorite. Stop by for a double scoop on a waffle cone, or grab a hot fudge sundae if you're feeling extra special.
Yvee Hopkins
Best icecream scoop in the city! They make unique flavours that keep me coming back. I'm in love with their lavender ice cream, but would also highly recommend the oatmeal brown sugar. <br/><br/>It's dangerously delicious. The only downside is the cost. I understand that it is probably an expensive product to produce, so I just opt for a single scoop to save a few bucks. <br/><br/>It is getting quite busy since they opened this spring, so I would recommend you plan time for the line-up.

This is Earnest Ice Cream's second location. Their original one is on Fraser Street.  Their flavours are really good and I would recommend the salted caramel, oatmeal brown sugar, cookies and cream, whiskey hazelnuts and Cafe Au Lait. <br/><br/>All the flavours are pretty good and I'm sure you'll find something you'll love.

Fairly long lineups. Very cute place. Good icecream. However, I honestly don't remember a time where I thought ice cream was bad (Mcdonald cones? Solid A+ everytime). Overall it WAS good.  And definitely overhyped. Big fan of cones here.  (they serve vegan cones btw) I got the matcha and london fog. Both for solid. Literally and metaphorically speaking. Matcha was strong and not too sweet, so was the london fog. If you get it for here, they put it in a little glass cup which is pretty cool. Good for an indulgence once in a while, if you find yourself in the area. But it wasn't life changing or mega sparkly special (SORRY!!) xx Angel

Best ice cream in the city!. Have tried most of their flavours and they are all fantastic. Hard to chose one, but i have picked my fav- cookies n' cream! Please make it more often, twice a month is not enough, it's so good, it should be on the regular menu.

Can't even get enough. <br/><br/>Green tea and Cardamom today. Felt like something light so went for these flavours. Decent green tea taste in the creamy milky base. Cardamom was really interesting. It sweet with a light lemony taste. <br/><br/>Love it!

Love the decor, open space, and service. Ice cream wasn't bad too. Plenty of flavors to choose from. Flavors that are rotated frequently. Overall experience: thumb's up<br/>

Ice cream is my favourite food, so when a friend suggests that we go, we go. Great service and trendy atmosphere. They let you try a bunch before ordering. My friends' flavours were awesome: london fog and caramel, but my vegan cafe au lait was lacking. I just couldn't resist trying it. I have had their ice cream at the 33 Acres tasting room too. It went great with a couple of beers.

What's not to love about freshly made ice cream with a Vancouver homemade vibe? In the heart of hipsterville (hi Main Street!)- the beautiful brick walls, and cement counters engraved with the name and slogan inside, make you feel like this is the coolest ice cream shop on the block..! And that's because it is! <br/><br/>My boyfriend got a scoop of the whiskey hazelnut (my go-to) and another of the cardamom. For those who can't do dairy like me- there's always at least one option at least for you, of a vegan flavor! Which is great since I'll take one over none! The best part is that it tastes just as delicious as the creamy milky versions- so everyone will love it! I got two scoops of the vegan chocolate. <br/><br/>Despite being super busy, the girl helping us didn't rush us or make us feel stressed which was so nice! We tested out some flavors and settled on the above after some hard decision making. <br/><br/>Love this place. Love their story. Love the ice cream!

Rorschach's Journal . April 18, 2015. Tonight, a comedian had ice cream in Vancouver. And it was delicious. My favorite was the London Fog, but the Salted Caramel was tasty as well. Creamy texture and unique flavors. I would definitely come back to try out some new/old flavors again and investigate further. My friends tried to steal my portion by saying "share with us", but I simply whispered "no".
Greenjadelovesfood
Whiskey Hazelnut is everything. I love Earnest Ice Cream! There may be a insurgence of small-batch ice cream making in Vancouver, but Earnest has some of the best in the city, if not the best. Their creations are so creamy and full of flavour. You know they use real milk. My favourites must be the whiskey hazelnut (hello big chunks of hazelnuts) and the earl grey. I have yet to try a flavour I don't like. It does get busy in there, so bypass the line and take a jar home with you.

Vancouver is still without a palette I see..... Huge lineups on Fraser street...expanding to Quebec? Must be something special....actually it's awful.<br/><br/>Double chocolate - ok<br/>London Fog - Interestingly floral but overly sweet<br/>Salted Caramel - Too salty not balanced. <br/>Whiskey Hazelnut - ZERO taste of whisky. Hazelnuts were nice until you get a mouthful of rancid nuts spoiling your experience. (Is it so hard to keep hazelnuts in a cool dry place?)<br/><br/>I guess it's because you get a good sized scoop for $5? Just like how Vancouver rates sushi, like a starving student? The best thing was the cone. I would rather eat boxed ice cream at home.

A couple of weeks ago I visited the new Earnest Ice Cream on Quebec and 2nd. I’m fond of their new space, it’s very open, fresh and the tiles combined with the wood beams are a match made in heaven. The flavours are posted on clipboards hanging above the counter and their slogan of “Seriously Good” is carved into the cement at the counter. I ordered the Salted Caramel and Peanut Butter and Jelly flavours. WOW,

Needless to say, Earnest seemed like a faraway, dreamy and distant land that I’ll never be able to go to =( Until now! Their new location had opened up this month right on the outskirts of Olympic Village. This location is a major upgrade in terms of size, featuring high ceilings and almost floor to ceiling windows. It feels very roomy and spacious due to the high ceilings.

Earnest Ice Cream has always been a great place to get ice cream. Their flavors are amazing and unique. Doesn’t matter what the weather is outside.

... decent flavors of both whiskey and cardamom in their respective scoops; cone OK...

It’s probably old news by now that Earnest has set up shop on Quebec and 2nd near the Olympic Village. And it is gorgeous. Just look.

Earnest Ice Cream opens their second new location in Mount Pleasant on Quebec Street and 2nd Avenue. Proving itself to be one of the best ice cream shops in Vancouver  with long lines, owners, Ben and Erica have opened doors in the middle of Winter. But really Vancouver’s winter is hardly that of New York or that below freezing with piercing winds...

Rest assured, the ice cream is the same and just as good. I celebrated with a mint chip cone amidst many of their long-time supporters.
