Review Nero Waffles - Vancouver

Amin Sameni
Talking about waffles, they mean business! Both sweet and savoury waffles are great My favourite is savoury ones as they are very light and crunchy. They have very limited space so give yourself some time for possible line-up. They have 2 more locations which are much bigger than this one

Read the review, so we went to check it out when we were downtown, and we didn’t disappoint. You can smell it from across the street. We placed the order, and the waffles came out pretty fast, maybe because we went just before dinner time. Service was great, staff were friendly. The waffles was so good, fluffy, and lots of flavour, we wanted to order another one, but we wanted to keep our dinner plan. We will definitely come back for other flavours.

The waffles were AMAZING. So fluffy and light. We had the breakfast Benny, French gaufre and mango. They were all delicious and surprisingly filling for the size. You get to choose between liege and Brussels waffle but they’re both equally as good. It was so delicious that we brought some of their mini liege waffles back home to share with family and friends.

Stopped by this lovely place after dinner. We thought it'll be too heavy for dessert but it's not. The waffle is fluffy and light. I'll crave this one fore sure. Good service 👍

Staff were really friendly. Portion sizes were good. Great that there's some tables to sit and eat if you want. Feel free to ask the staff questions. Some of the waffles are very fluffy and soft, and some are regular conventional waffles. I recommend for dessert

Got the Strawberry Biscoff Brussels waffle and it was so delicious that I finished it right away. I got 2 more mini waffles to go, thinking about saving it as snacks for the next day but ended up eating them all at night. There weren’t many different flavours for waffles when I came over, maybe because it’s the end of the day. Would definitely go back and hopefully get to try different ones.

This was heaven. Craving for more! We ordered 1 Mango brussels waffle thinking it would be too much. We finished it in seconds! Nice light and airy crispy at right places. The toppings had mango chunks, vanilla and cream it was delicious!!!

We got the Berry and Mascarpone with the Brussels Waffle. The waffle really was light and crisp, with a strong buttery taste. I personally enjoyed it a lot, but some may find it too buttery. There was a lot of mascarpone, but it went well with the buttery waffle and fruit.
Anindita
Tried their Mocha and All Things Chocolate on their Belgian waffles- something I still crave for every other day. Tiny little find, very warm staff, very affordable & very good waffles. What more could you want?
Joanne Liu
Really nice waffles! They are really well priced and you definitely get your money’s worth in terms of waffles. Definitely would try if you have a sweet tooth!
Alyzon Lim
I was very excited when I heard from my friends and relatives that they have good desserts here. It did not disappoint. We got the Brussels waffle you should try the Leige Waffle everyone said it's better

I came here six years ago before it was all the rave on Instagram and other social media platforms. This place is very cute and cozy and great if you loved waffles. Their waffles are made fresh infront of your eyes and there are many different ways to decorate it. With nutella, strawberries, bananas, etc. and it's extremely well made and always tasty.
Yo-Yi
They have good flavors and the waffle texture is just right! I like how they have savory options as well as sweet. It’s also a good portion!

Decent place for waffles but not the best in our opinion - nothing special. Waffles taste average.

In terms of the actual location - difficult to get a seat inside and it can get really cramped. It is the type of place that you go to to get a waffle, not for the atmosphere.
Kate.anne
The best waffles I've ever had! My husband and I shared the Brésilienne and it was amazing. It was so busy and there was no seating inside so we sat outside but fortunately there is a heater.
Gary
not sure what to get? strongly recommend the bresilienne 💛 id give this place a 5 but the ready made waffles on display werent the freshest, they were decent, but then again i was blown away by the bresilienne so that couldve been my standard. ive been here atleast 5 times already and i live about 40 minutes away.
LiveToEat
Great place. Would definitely come back to eat. The waffles taste great, service is great. I ate here around dinner time and the place was pretty busy as all of the tables were occupied.
Jopy S.
Nero never fails! Especially the Brassilien crispy waffles, crispy and light at the same time, with ice cream and whipped cream topped with caramel and almond. A must-eat in Vancouver.
Nomnomnom
○order first and sit down kind of place / they'll only take your order if there's seats available
○good Belgian waffles / I've tried a few other places but this is by far the best Belgian waffles/ my go to is the bresilienne on Brussel waffle with no whip but extra ice cream instead
○on the pricier side but can be shared and is worth it
○would I go back? Yes
Karen
Decent Belgian waffle place with Brussels style and liege style waffles to choose from. It's often packed with people at all times of the day. Comparable to ones you get in Belgium. I feel like the quality fluctuates - sometimes the taste is spot on, other times it is strangely off.
WAFFLE: The Bresilienne Waffle has vanilla ice cream with whipping cream drizzled with caramel sauce and crumbled hazelnuts. It was pretty good and I would get that again.

I don't understand why everyone loves this place so much... their waffle batter is mediocre, and they use waaaay too much sugar and whipped cream on almost everything. This place is great if you want diabetes, not if you want a great waffle experience. Service was terrible, the server had such a terrible attitude and no customer service skills whatsoever.
Might be going a bit rough on them since I've lived in Belgium where waffles are everywhere on the streets.
Lebloop
Very tasty, crispy waffles. I think they use pearl sugar in the batter like authentic Belgian waffles so there's a hint of caramel in the waffle. Topping combinations are simple and yummy 10/10 would recommend
TheHappySloths
I can see why everyone is just obsessed with this place. The waffle is perfectly crispy and crunchy and the topping is simply irresistible. My only wish was for a bigger waffle but I would definitely go back here for a post-dinner snack! Lastly I would definitely recommend visiting here in the odd hours when it's not too busy. Otherwise it would be pretty hard to find seatings.

This cozy restaurant was located mere steps from our hotel so I knew we would eventually find our way to their doorstep for a late, 11AM or noon opening hour depending on day of the week, breakfast. Two types of waffles are offered, traditional Belgian and liege, with us choosing the former. My wife chose Heaven – a waffle covered with strawberries and real whipped cream. Mine was orange mousse – fresh cut orange segments and Belgian dark chocolate mousse. Hers was pretty good, mine was life altering.

Got my order wrong ordered a savory waffle for breakfast and got four slices of brie some walnut and syrup?? Bad seating to eat at. No bathroom { or shared with McDonalds ) Will not be back-
Imdijit
For such a popular spot, this place sure doesn't have the space to accomodate the throng of people coming in for their waffles, which in my personal opinion is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye than blowing me over with it's taste. Me and my friend got the Mocha with brussel waffle, twas good, but not enough for me to frequent the place or crave it. I must say though, the staff are awesome, especially the lady on cash, She makes it look like she really loves her job :)

Nero has been on our list for awhile and since we love waffles we had to go. We ordered the liege mocha waffle, a hot chocolate and an Americano. The waffle was delicious, we haven’t had a better waffle in the city. The waffle was warm and soft, and paired with the ice cream and espresso infused whipped cream made it the perfect match. If you haven't been here do yourself a favour and go! Oh and the drinks were good as well! Be prepared to wait though.

Seriously the best waffles in town. My personal favorite is the brasillienne. As expected they are always packed full of people so weekdays are probably the best time to go. You can't miss the smell of fresh waffles when you pass by! Friendly service and yummy waffles.
Sampoorna Biswas
I had been eyeing this place for a while - the last time I'd made plans with friends, turned out they wouldn't have been able to accommodate all of us. In general, Nero's is always busy on weekend mornings, and there's almost always a wait, even to seat just two people. It's a great place, but also, it's extremely tiny. And then they have a policy that they won't put you on the waitlist unless all members of your party have arrived. So, getting there earlier than your friends won't get you in any faster.

They have two basic types of waffles, liege and brussels and then you can choose your toppings. I looove liege waffles, and I chose the mocha toppings to go with it. My friend chose banella with brussels. We both really liked what we got, and it's pretty well priced too.

All week long, I’m showcasing delicious eats on the West End Business Improvement Association Instagram account. No West End feature would be complete if it didn’t include the prominent dessert spot – Nero Belgian Waffle Bar. It had been a while since I last went there, so I was glad to revisit Nero to capture new shots for the Instagram feature.

Second time here, still the best waffles in town.

Ordered: brussels of orange mousse, fruity, and biscuit. Hands down oreo was the best! The combination of chocolate crumbs whipped cream and ice cream can't go wrong. Could use another piece of oreo or even rough chopped oreas on top.

The dark chocolate mousse in the orange one wasnt quite there; it could use a stronger punch of chocolate. I also feel like both the orange dark chocolate mousse and the fruit one both need some kind of sauce or icecream with it. The waffle base alone though is so good that it doesn't affect my rating much. Its light and airy with a thin crunch exterior.

The best!
Jentaro
Tried "The Biscuit" on brussels waffle. The waffles are true to its description: light and has a crispy layer on the outside. There's generous amount of ice cream sprinkled with chocolate and cookie crumbs. It's very filling.

I love waffles. Who doesn’t?? Nero Belgian Waffle Bar in the West End of downtown Vancouver is making magnificent creations, sweet & savoury. Nero is a cute little place but try to get here a little earlier, if you can, to avoid the post dinner rush (if you want to sit at a table inside).

I try to speed walk by Nero when I'm on Robson, because I know that if I stop to enjoy the smell wafting out from the window, I'll find myself seated in front of a waffle (even if I have other things to do). My favourite is the one with assorted fruit, but the orange and chocolate is also hard to pass up. Beautifully presented, too.
Andrea
I highly recommend Nero for waffles. This place keeps their quality pretty high through so many years. I've had almost all of them, and i love them all. I would recommend not going at peak hours if you want a spot to sit because seating inside is very limited. And plus, it's so close to the seawall so its a nice quick treat as youre strolling around enjoying the scenery.

This is my second time at Nero and I have to admit, I don't remember my first time being as good as this one. I ordered the Bresilienne on the light and crispy waffle. It was delicious!! The hazelnut with ice cream and whipped cream mixed the waffle... Bomb. Definitely worth a try if you haven't been yet.. A wonderful dessert fix!
Loves2eat
I would recommend Nero if you're looking for a great Belgian waffle Cafe. Nero is very tiny to say the least. Inside the restaurant are about 6 tables, so if you're planning on dining in, its a good idea to head their early. The line begins to grow as soon as they open. They make 2 types of waffles, brussels and liege. If you have more of a sweet tooth your most likely to enjoy the liege waffle, as they're sweet and chewy. If you're not so crazy about sweets go for a brussels waffle. I found that they are crispy, light, and don't have too much of a flavour to them. Although their isn't much flavour to the brussels waffle the toppings do make up for it. For those who love coffee the mocha waffle will satisfy. If you're looking for something a little more refreshing I would recommend the Heaven (strawberries) or fruti (assorted fruit) waffles. I took some 'mini' waffles to go and found that they were actually quite large. Also, they are 5 for $10 which is quite a steal. Of the 5 mini waffle flavours I most enjoyed the maple custard and walnut crumble waffle. The waffle itself was filled with custard and covered in crunchy walnuts.

Nero should be synonymous for waffles. This cutesy little shop in downtown Vancouver offers the best of the best waffles in town. Waffles can be eaten in two different styles but I personally prefer the liege style. A must for any sweet tooth to indulge in.

Nero Belgian Waffle Bar is a dainty little store located 1703 Robson Street. Famous for its gorgeous waffles, it attracts many customers during the day until late at night. There can often be a line, and a shortage of seating, but luckily they also do take-outs and there is a high rotation rate.

Taste: incredibly sweet. Their waffles are buried underneath ice-cream, flavoured whip cream, sweet drizzles, icing sugar, and extra complements like nuts or cookie crumble. I ordered the Mocha (lower plate) which had vanilla ice-cream, espresso infused whip cream, cookie crumbs, chocolate drizzle, and a cute little raspberry all on a light & crispy brussels waffle. The Bresilienne waffle (the waffle coated in brown, caramel sauce) had vanilla ice-cream, whip cream, hazelnut crumbs, and caramel sauce. Everything is distributed evenly so each bite is a perfect bite.

You can't go wrong with fruity crispy waffle at this place. Staff are friendly and nice. This is a must place to go if you are looking for a good Belgian waffle in Vancouver. Line up worth
Hungry Hippo
Delicious . Small space. Not good for large spaces or chilling for long periods. Good coffee/espresso . Daily changing menu. Cute waffle 'timbits' at the till ( custard/ chocolate filled etc) . Waffles themselves are quality .

I don't have anything bad to say about Nero. The Brussels waffles are so light and airy. The flavour combinations are on point here. The perfect place for waffles that are not overly sweet and not too decadent. I've never had the savory waffles or coffee here but I do know that they serve those. The staff is super friendly and for some reason, every time I go, there's always an abundance of seating. The pricing is not too terrible but this is definitely a once in awhile treat.
Jenny
Always a classic go-to for waffles. I love their liege waffles since I could make the brussels kind at home with our waffle maker. A consistent menu and offerings with decent prices. The fact that you can get 5 mini liege waffles for $10 is a steal especially if you're craving for the chocolate covered ones.
MethodSTYLES
Didn't feel like dining in so I decided to get the mini waffles. If I remember correctly it was 5 for $10. It turned out way better than I had expected. The waffles were really fresh. The vanilla flavor has a cream filling...so good!
MS.CHUBBS
Overall, Nero is a solid dessert place that I would recommend of their waffles. It is all that it’s hyped up to be, but I’m still not a convinced fan. Waffles are just not up my alley when there are other desserts to choose from.
Weekend Reviews
Had a delicious meal here. Hole in the wall, but the waffles make up for it all. The decor is good, but the food is the best. 11/10. Had a great time here and recommend it to anyone🙂

Wow. Nero, you lived up to the word on the street! You may be tiny inside but you are packed massive decadent dishes! Friendly service, quaint & cozy space inside and tables street side. We were able to check out the vibe here on a weekday so no line ups! Honestly though, I'd line up any day to try their latest flavours. Check it out, let me know what you think! @NeroWaffleBar

It's my first time to try it tonight. Most of my friends told me that the waffle's really good and I have to try it. Yes it is good, but I feel like some people overrate it. I'll give it 4 stars 'cause I'm still looking for something special. It's the best waffle I tried in Vancouver so far tho. I'm gonna go again next time to try some other flavors or the other waffle type. Maybe I just picked the wrong choice. Anyway, it's worth a try ☺

It took me 15 minutes to decide on which waffle to order because all of them sounded delicious! With the help of the cashier, I finally settled with the fruity on a liege. The cashier suggested getting ice cream with it instead of whipped cream, which I did. The waffle was sweet and chewy without being too soft. I loved the different layers of fruit! The freshness from the fruits balanced out the sweetness from the ice cream and the waffle. I would definitely recommend this place! The only downside to Nero's is that it can be hard to find spots since it is quite small.
The Noors
Beautiful light and crispy waffles in a cozy corner in robson st. Not to be missed!! A good selection of waffles. Mocha and banella waffles were our selection and it was Extraordinarily!!

After finishing dinner over at Marutama Ra-Men with Beavis, The Pretzel Monster and Little Bunny, we were heading back to our car while joking about whether anyone had room for dessert. They all laughed and said no way… I was thinking otherwise. Then we walked by Nero Waffle which was literally steps away and were carried inside by the scent of their sweet, sweet waffles. I knew it was going to happen, I just didn’t know how much convincing I had to do. Thankfully they’re all just as gung-ho about a good treat as I am, so when Beavis suggested we split a waffle I sprinted to the door and started eyeing the menu. Little Bunny insisted she didn’t want anything at first, but that quickly changed once she saw the delicious treats.

Nero is one of the best yet authentic Belgian Waffle place in town! As per one of the Belgian customer besides our table, "You do not have to travel all the way to Belgium to taste the waffles, Nero have it all!" My friends and I really enjoyed having both the sweet and savoury flavour waffles. If you want to have fresh and delicious waffles, you have to be patient and wait in line. This little place is always crowded on Robson street, but it is worth the wait because everything is made to order! Excellent food and service! The downside is that you can hardly find a spot inside and out because there are limited seating.
J.Chews
Always a favourite stop whenever I am in Vancouver. It never ceases to amaze me how naturally the creators of these authentic Belgian waffles can achieve the perfect balance of texture, density, presentation, and flavour so consistently. Definitely a must-have!

Have been here a couple times since most of friends have sweet tooth and sweet cravings. I'm personally not a big desert fan, as i'd rather get three main course and skip the desert, as for this place they do offer two kinds of waffle, the liege and i kind remember the other one, pretty much one is softer and more fuller and the other one is wider and crisper but not that crisp. in terms of the ingredients they use the waffles have a hint of sweetness, and also the ice cream are great, taste wise is awesome, love all the ingredients they used.

overall i would recommend this place for a sweet tooth kind of people. Definitely, a good place to chill also, and the place is rather small so the place rather gets really crowded and will definitely long lineups, super long lineups.
Every Day Is A Food Day
We shared the Mocha on Brussels Waffle, which features vanilla ice cream, espresso infused whipped cream and dark Belgian chocolate sauce on top of a light and crispy waffle. I found the waffle to be rather sticky, but it was still quite delicious. Maybe a bit too much of that whipped cream, but it was light so not too heavy.

Overall, we were quite pleased with Nero Belgian Waffle Bar. By the time we left, there was a huge lineup forming, so be sure to go there early! I also liked how they were cool with us ordering one waffle between the three of us. Usually, many smaller shops force you to order a minimum order. Only downside is that the waffles are quite pricey though, with most of them being $8-9. Great to share with friends after dinner though!
Cecilia
Sooo good!!! I think we've tried almost all the flavours, and all are excellent. The recommendation is that you get them with the liege waffles. The other ones, which I usually prefer have been super dry (even with ice cream), the handful of times I've had tried them.
Monica
Definitely one of my go-to dessert spots in Vancouver! The place has a cozy atmosphere, with a rustic, vintage feel to it and you're instantly welcomed by the delicious scent of vanilla and waffles.

My friend and I got the Brésilienne and the Biscuit. Both were divine and heavenly, and we felt like we could eat 10 plates of it. Nero serves both liege (soft and sweet) and brussels (light and crispy) waffles. Personally, I prefer the liege waffles because it has more if a bite to it but you can't go wrong with either of them!

Beware! It can get quite busy so you and your party might have to wait a bit for a spot. But it's definitely well worth the wait!
Kkkkkkkaren
i had pretty high expectations and this place was not too bad but it didn't stand out that much in comparison to the other places that i've tried in my week in vancity.. i got the orange mousse cause it was something different and it was pretty good but the toppings seem kinda sparse (i need more dazzle dazzle for instagram) i got the brussels waffle type and im not disappointed cause it had a nice texture and thickness but yassss maybe im just bitter cause the lighting wasnt that good.
Melissa Prystupa
I went to Nero for the first time today. I live close by and have always wanted to go, now that I have - I'm in trouble. I had the fruity waffle and it was delicious. The waffle was crisp and very light, and the toppings were very generous. I was unsure if I would be able to eat the whole thing but I devoured it. Service was great, everyone was very lovely. Atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. We sat inside but the patio is great. I will definitely be a regular.
FoodieYVR
On the positive side, the waffles and new, delicious creations are well...delicious with the prices to match. The restaurant is a small space so if you plan to go in a group, prepare to either wait for the larger table to be free or take-out your order.

The only negative aspect to our visit was, unfortunately, a huge one. I informed the server of a severe fruit allergy I had to which he did not provide assurance that he would not cross-contaminate the utensils/preparation area(s) with said fruit. He simply stated that there are no guarantees that I would not ingest the fruit. Fair enough but I thought this basically implied that I should not order anything and just leave. That being said, we decided to go ahead with our order and as we watched the person who prepared our waffle orders, we noticed that the fruit I told him I was allergic to was being cut up on the board. Shortly after a few of the fruits were cut up, the server realized what he was doing and went into the back to discard the fruit and proceed with the fruit that I could safely consume. We thought this was a case of a bit of carelessness. I would not be confident to visit again due to this experience.

BUT - if you have no allergies and want a yummy waffle (savory or sweet), go for it.

Came here for a little dessert after lunch with my family. I had ordered a cappuccino and the Brésilienne on a Brussel waffle and a Dame Blanche on a Liége waffle. The Brésilienne was absolutely amazing, the hazelnut crumble complimented so well with the caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. The Dame Blanche was quite good as well, and I quite enjoyed having it on the soft chewy Liége waffle. Definitely want to come back here and taste the savoury variety waffles.
Miruku
Waffle is good, but service is bad. The lady at the cashier with nose pierce & eye glasses on, doesn't think for customers. Ordering some mini waffles & giving you a huge box, where waffles will be rolling around in there. We've asked for a bag instead of a box, she said the bag couldn't fit the waffles, ended up we have to teach her what to do. And gave us attitude since we asked her to put waffles in bag instead of box. We though everywhere to trying to cut down on using paper, but she's insisted they only have boxes.

The Brésilienne was absolutely delicious! I had it with the Brussels waffle and it was perfectly light and crispy (as described on the menu). We decided on take out since there were no tables available. We waited for quite a long time after placing our order, but it was definitely worth the wait.

Now the negatives -- there was a cellphone on the cutting board... where food was being chopped... seems a little unsanitary :\ ... and there was a hair in my friend's waffle.
Susie
Hole in the wall type of place with amazing Belgian waffles! There is not a lot of seating inside, though there is one large table for a bigger group. Lineups may be long, but well worth the wait.
D
Their belgian waffles are made perfectly; not too overly sweet. Their plating is always beautiful and the baristas really know how to make a good drink. The only down side is that the place is a little too small so you will mostly likely be seated an inch next another customer.
DineVancity
Nero's waffles are absolutely perfect! The liege waffles are a must, though im still not sure how to pronounce it. The tables round the back are together in a really tight space, but the food is still definitely worth coming for.

I am no longer making excuses that I'm not a dessert fan or a connoisseur. I think I have enabled the sweet tooth element in my brain and now I'm down with it baby! This was hands-down the best waffle I have ever tasted. It was so soft, light, and unobtrusive with its sweetness and carbohydrates. I felt like it was an innocent, normal looking opposite sex that just sucked you in without you realizing it. What seduction that was! No matter how full you are, there's room for this dessert because it is ever so light and satisfying. You can probably eat 3 of these before feeling something. Maybe only after eating 5 that you'll feel sick. Try it out and let me know, OK? :)
CuriouslyCarmen.com
We shared the liege au chocolat waffle, which came with a dark chocolate drizzle, fresh raspberries, and a big ol’ scoop of vanilla ice cream. The waffle was nice and light, with a sweetness to it and served warm. The dark chocolate and tart raspberries counterbalanced the sweetness of the waffle and vanilla ice cream.
Klaudia1600
Absolutely delicious and beautiful Belgian waffles! I took fruity option with caffe latte. I'll be back . highly recommend, little place with amazing atmosphere and delicious waffles . 10 out of 10!
Justamorsel
A mediocre place for waffles. Waffles are good but the toppings are nothing special. The place is very small so it is difficult to get a spot. There are better waffle places in the city.

Whether you are in the mood for dessert after your ramen fix or looking for brunch worthy waffles, Nero Belgian Waffle Bar is the place for you. This waffle place in the West End is small in size but big in terms of popularity among locals and tourists. Nero Belgian Waffle Bar serves authentic Belgian waffles in two varieties, Brussels and Liege, and has options for savoury and sweet toppings.
Oohlie
Great little place that's easily overlooked. I got a few mini cakes from there and they were just perfect. The service is friendly, quick and there are never any waits during the week.
EATeatEat
Waffle amazing. But servers are kinnda arrogance. The waffles are pretty $$ and the place is so small you can't sit and enjoy while looking at other people waiting in line wanting to sit. But the waffles are really good, minus the server and the cramped space.
Much2much2do
Nero was one spot I really wanted to try after reading reviews and I was not disappointed. The service was friendly and provided great recomendations. The whole place is a hole in the wall--super tiny and trendy, so I would suggest people try visiting in the middle of the week, during the day if possible to miss the crowds. We tried the Strawberry Dream, Tiramisu, and Mocha Waffle. I personally think Tiramisu was the best. You can choose soft or crispy waffles. The crispy ones are larger and taste like typical waffles, but soft ones are sweet like a glazed doughnut. The london fog and Mocha coffee we paired with they had a artisted swirl design, just to make the extra special. We could not get enough of these waffles so we took some of the mini ones to go. Next time you're around downtown Vancouver stop by.
Winterkiss
Cute. Waffles are creative and there's a nice assortment. But they just don't quite beat Medina's for me.
Anikathompson687
Love it. Great place for dessert in general i like it a lot, not too expensive and really good, plus the stuff are really kind and nice
Jordan M
Delicious waffles here. The staff are very friendly. Their coffee isn't my favourite but the waffles make up for it!
Helo
Amazing!!. Best waffles! Wish I lived in Vancouver so that I could come here every day.
Carinagray
No public washroom!!!. The waffles are amazingly delicious but there's no public washroom?.... I don't think it's even legal. Well they have a washroom maybe just for their staff but not for the customers instead we were told there's none and you have to go to Mc Donald!
Foodielover
Delicious treat!. Having lived in Holland for a year, I crave Belgian waffles from time to time. This place does not disappoint. I enjoyed the Liege style waffle best, it was very soft and chewy.

We ordered the "fruity" and it was piled HIGH with fresh fruit - strawberries, bananas, black berries, blue berries, oranges, and loads of whipped cream.

We also had the "bresilienne" - the ice cream and caramel sauce made it a nice sweet treat!

I definitely recommend if you love waffles :)
Deb
Dessert to die for!. Had the "Berry Me" this evening - crisp waffle topped with an abundance of fresh berries (blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries), vanilla ice cream, and creme anglaise. Absolutely fantastic.....waffle was light and crispy, berries fresh and firm, and the creme anglaise just right - not too much. Service was efficient and very friendly. Loved it! Highly recommended.
Chowdown
Crispy and light?. We ordered the fruit with whipped cream and were asked what type of waffle we wanted which was a surprise. I didn't know which one to pick crispy and light or sweet and soft... I decided quickly on the light and crispy as there was a lineup of people behind me. the presentation was nice with a good portion of fruit. the waffle I didn't enjoy it as much as it resembled the texture of a crouton. I will go back and try a different type of waffle to see what the craze is all about.

My dear wife wanted to eat here. Having heard about it from girlfriends. All I can tell you is that it is fake. They do NOT use real cream. Parking is a nightmare and expensive and this restaurant is expensive and they do not use the real thing.
Madison
Dame Blanche Brussels Waffle. Tastes as good as it looks!! If you have a sweet tooth this is the best spot to be!
John C
Great companions for coffee time or even a stand alone lunch. Since many of friends seem to *love* this place on Robson, we chose to try waffles here for a dessert. Ordered banella waffle and heaven one and were surprised how big the portions were. We had to pack some left-over! Maybe it was because we just had a huge dinner but the portions seemed very generous. Waffles were very ... vanilla fresh, so different from the ones I usually have from Safeway (of course? Haha). They will be great companions for coffee time or even a stand alone lunch. A great find!
Super Astro
I'm not coming back to their rude and unacceptable customer service ever! People who order take out, please don't seat down and wait! They will ask you to get up the seat for their dine-in customers even if you are there the first and just waiting for the food to be made. Their dine-in customers are more important than take out ones. What an insult I experienced when the lady said "oh, didn't you see the sign on the table", it says 'Don't seat yourself'. I thought maybe if a good customer was delivered, they could have just quickly tell their dine in customers to wait couple more minutes and give us the order to get us out the shop.

The waffles are prettier than most people I know. I was very excited about trying out nero! I was craving waffles and while searching up good places to eat I came across Nero Belgian waffle bar. While reading the urban spoon reviews I was a bit worried coming in since many reviews mentioned very terrible customer service but my experience was nothing like that. Although the space was small and cramped it was very tastefully decorated and had a comfortable/homey vibe. The waiter who took my order was very kind and helpful! I ordered the Dame Blanche and the presentation of the waffle was gorgeous, I found it rather difficult to eat considering this waffle was prettier than me, but my mouth was watering and I couldn't help myself so I dug in. The waffle was extremely delicious and I finished it with a smile on my face! I'll definitely come back here the next time I'm craving waffles!

Great waffle. Never disappoints, always crave this place!

Loved everything! We got three different savory waffles, all great combinations of flavors and ingredients. Then we went back up and ordered a couple of sweet waffles for dessert (orange mousse and Brasilienne). These folks are true artists of the waffle! Expensive but GREAT.

Not the shining light from heaven made out to be - but good nonetheless. Skip the lineup, go there midday on a weekday! Greeted and order taken immediately. Service was OK, place was rather cramped but decor thankfully made it more cozy than claustrophobic. Waffles were tasty, made fresh, and had just the right crunch to it (I had the Brussels waffle). Only disappointment was their presentation of their "Mocha" waffle that supposedly had espresso-infused whipped cream, but all I tasted was whipped cream. However, I'm curious enough about the rest of their menu to go back though definitely not enough to line up half an hr for it.

Scottish travellers. We had the pleasure of eating at this shop ,the waffles and croissants are the best crunchie on the outside and soft inside the best we have ever tasted that's including France .we also appreciated the friendly family service thank you for the memories

Must try!. Nero is definitely a place to go to on Robson. You can’t beat their Belgian waffles. I make it a rule to go once a month if I can.

The waffles are perfect - warm, crispy; the fruits are fresh, and the whipped cream just gives it the right taste. Just writing about it makes my mouth water! There is a large variety of toppings to choose from so you'll never get bored. Even if you do not consider yourself to be a waffle-lover, you should still try it. I brought my friend here (who is not a fan of waffles btw) and he loved it! So much so, he helped himself to a second serving.

The locale itself is not very large - whenever I go it is difficult to get seating so it can be a bit uncomfortable. Going by yourself is probably the way to go here.

Overpriced. Just like everybody else says in the comments below it's overpriced. $7 or so for a Liege with almonds and dark chocolate. It did taste good but nothing outstanding. It's alright...ehhhh...

Maybe I picked the wrong waffle?. I had gone to Nero last summer due to the hype of it. My friend and I had gone in the early evening with the intention to eat a "waffle dinner" there, so we were pretty hungry when we went.

The service was prompt, employees looked kind of squished in the little corner (there were 3 of them were back there). They greeted us with a smile. So definitely 5/5 in service.

I ended up ordering the Bresilienne Waffle. I remember because I took pictures. I was visually really appealing, though unfortunately it wasn't at all what I had expected. I thought I was going to bite into something really memorable. But instead I was rather bored with it, and ended up losing interest in it before I finished. Though, being as hungry as we were, we still finished it.

Perhaps it just wasn't the right waffle for me? But at the $6-10 range, a bit far for me personally, and not even close to being full... I would probably pick another place closer to home. So unless I happen to be in the area, and I try something else, this review will be solely on that one waffle. I do encourage others to give it a try.

Mediocre but Over Priced. Heard many rave reviews about this place, was in the area and decided to give a try. We waited abit and got seated. Ordered the Dame Blanche, which was a Brussel type waffle and a Liege waffle. Presentation was good, but taste wise nothing really stood out. Like the fact that the Brussel was made to order but Liege was just a reheat which not sure how long it had been sitting there for. Quite weird that both my friend and I felt very thirsty after eaten the Liege waffle with a slight tinkering sensation in the mouth, not sure what was in it. Overall it was okay but very pricy ($9) for a Brussel waffle which you can easily made at home. Liege ($4) was alright but had better elsewhere.

Poor customer service received when asked for recommendation and got rushed while deciding.
Very small shop, with plenty of parking around the corner.

30-40 minute waiting time, food is good though. I had their Dame Blanche. It tastes good. I went here because my girlfriend was saying how good their waffles are and the place is very close to my place, so I had to try it. The line up was scary. Out side was kinda cold and there is not much place inside so I had to wait outside for a bit, I was in a line up about 8 minutes the lady taking order was polite, I was taking the order to go she said it will be about 15-20 minutes, I asked if I can just come back in 20 minutes and just grab the order from the counter she seemed shocked, she asked for me to wait.
Waiting outside in a chilly weather for 20 minutes doesn't seem like a thing I want to do for a waffle but because I wanted to try them out I came back after 15 minute and then I waited 2 minutes to get my order.
Now, I will be bland, they are not bad, they are actually really good, home made from scratch.
Worth all the wait and hassle? Why not, I will go there again if I have an hour to spare wait because I was waiting just 8 minutes but right after I came there was in seconds about 10 people that appeared from nowhere to make the line up enormously long. People before me had to wait 20 minutes them 15 minutes for their order so the total waiting time is about 30-40 minutes for whatever you want to eat.

Extremely slow service.....i ordered the fruity, it was good and the fruits were fresh..but i ask for an extra of dark chocolate on top..3$ for an extremely small shot of chocolate! The coffee was good..but the price are tol high for what it is..iam from montreal and you can find the same quality for cheaper...it was ok. But 20$ for a verry small waffle a coffee and a orange juice is ridiculous.

Just waffle.... I found this place is very normal. Not too good or not bad.
Maybe my expectation was high.
A nice and frienly staff tho.

Great waffles. I took my family here for takeout waffles. It's fresh and lives up to the hype. It would be nice if there was more seating. The take out containers are perfect and looks like the pictures posted on Urbanspoon. Check it out!

Rude Male Cashier. Althought their waffle were good and their pricy waffle isn't my issue
Their customer service left me a bitter taste
The male cashier that served me were extreme cocky
I was waiting right in front of him to trying order take out
He purposely ignoring me, took his time and served other customers until 15 mins after I had appoach him to request to order
My total time from waiting in front of him till i got my order were over 40 mins

Pretty. The girl who took my order was very good put together. Cute. I turned around and two nice chickas were there ooohing and aaahing and I joked how cute they are and how they cannot be eating anything from there since they are so skinny pretty. They took my number so Nero might make me lucky already was since wifey wasn't there
anyway the girl got my order wrong and I only notice when I get home. It was delish but a little expensive. You know it was wrong but gives me something else to chat up the girl next time. Which means: will return

Great Place. I have been here 2 times, it's great! The 2 men that work behind the counter are very friendly and helpful. The waffles are amazing, and the coffee is great! I would most definitely go back again.

I don't understand how this place has such good ratings and reviews. Came here a while ago and received such poor service. The girl got my order wrong and when I went to tell her she gave me a dirty look and told me it's what I asked for when it wasn't at all. She should have just apologized and gave me my new order in the first place. Anyways, I wasn't a big fan if the waffles at all. I feel like I need to give this place another try though.

Another little thing that makes Vancouver so special. How is it possible for a waffle to be so crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside? This place served waffles like that, but even BETTER. Super cute exterior and interior, but if only this place was bigger! Had the Heavenly waffle (can't remember the actual name), the traditional strawberries and whipped cream. Berries were sweet, whip was light and fluffy, presentation was phenomenal. Great for going out on a date or with a couple friends, not with a group of more than 4. Definitely a downtown gem, one of my favorite quirks about Vancouver.
