Went here for a quick bite and really loved the food. The staff was friendly and prof. We ordered Onion Rings, Fries. and a burger with veg patty. I love their hot as hell sauce along
Best place to taste a poutine around toronto, a very good staff and also a good environment đ It's a place that I will visit again when I come back to canada, certainly
Ok - you ever been to a movie and you feel like walking out .... but you are glad you stayed till the end? If so, you'll get where I am going with this Review.
My bro-in-law lives in Burlington and has gone to The Works there a few times. On his "we have to go there" recommendation before the Jays game - we stopped by the downtown Toronto location; rooftop patio and all.
Loooong wait for the food, waitress needed to be reminded to bring us our drinks and water, burgers over-cooked, and overall less than stellar service. So, when my wife realized I tipped the waitress 20% .... she felt she had to say something. Ok, in my defence, we are on holidays and I was in a good mood .... beautiful weather, going to a Jays game, rooftop patio .... which is no justification to my (sometimes outspoken) wife/:)
It's what happened next that blows me away. My wife was a waitress herself and always looks for ways to help a waitress (and business) improve. She talked to the waitress herself. And then the Manager got involved and insisted she explain everything to him. He immediately insisted the entire bill be covered .... explaining that there have been issues at this (flagship/original) location and he had been brought in to help things get turned Wow! I live by the motto of - it's not the mistake, but what you do with it. We left with our bill covered, two copies of the Managers contact info and a "please give us another chance".
I have to give The Works a lower Rating due to the mess ups, but upped the Rating on account of the classy way the Manager dealt with us.
Three Ring Binder burger included three onion rings which was just right for us in order to try their famous onion rings. The onion rings definitely were crispy and done really well. I liked the burger too. It was a solid satisfying burger patty and the gouda cheese and sautéed mushrooms especially made the overall burger a tasty one.
Awesome burgers, amazing service and the best soft rock music make the Works the ideal place to have a burger with or without a beer.
This place is so cool, has awesome decor, funny item names but the most extensive selection of burgers ever.
We shared the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon (lol) that has different types of bacon which all complimented the burger. The burger was grilled to perfection and the sides were pretty good.
Definitely one of the best burger joints in Downtown Toronto so do check this place out.
Their burgers are awesome and it has many options! We dined in and food didnât take too long to come. I ordered a beyond patty and when my order arrived, it came a regular patty. I told the server and she promptly switched my plate and gave us an extra salad at no cost. The milkshakes were superb! I recommend the nutella one, for sure! So good :)
My first time eating here and it was so yummy. Food was delicious and so fresh. The staff is also so kind and outgoing. I especially appreciate Alessandra !! She was so sweet and so fun it made my order 10x better. Talking to her brighten my day. Love it here !!!
Today is valentines day, the day to eat nom noms with your fav human. We ordered wagu beef, added carmalizrd onion, arugalla on white bun was really good. Also got a 3 onion ring with sautea mushrooms with BBQ sauce. I must say I didn't taste BBQ sauce so they may have only put a sprinkle or none (I never looked) it was so good tho. The sauce not too bad size either.the big tot is actually sooo good too
Really enjoyed my chicken burger (son of a beech) and side Greek salad. Only comment is that the signage on the bathrooms really promotes traditional and sexist gender norms that define women as caregivers, despite the fact that both washrooms have changing tables. Would be a really easy and minor fix to remove the family sign from the womens room, or also add one to the mens.
Really cool feel to the restaurant - good ambience, menu, niche serving methods (the water mugs, light bulbs for the salt-and-pepper, etc). Tried the Elk on the Beech burger and it was fantastic, definitely one of the strongest burgers in terms of flavor compared to other burger joints. The spicy chips thing was probably my favourite side (compared to the regular fries, sweet potato fries or poutine), so I definitely recommend those. Some of us were vegetarian and they have TONS of options for vegetarians which was a very pleasant surprise. Highly recommended!
