Review The Works Craft Burgers & Beer - Toronto

Angela Alvarado
I ordered take out from this place and never again . Very disappointed about this location . I love the works , I’ve tried different places around Ottawa and this was my first time in Toronto . My burger was very dry .I got the sum yung guy my go-to always !!!… to start the cream cheese was just a dry crust (very gross). When I was eating I turned the burger around and it looks like the bread was almost moldy , I thought it was maybe just a bit burned but the more I see it it does look like mold. The fries were OLD , but they did not taste like Yesterday OLD , it tasted like 2-3 days old and re-heated like 2 times already . Now I’m just hoping I don’t get food poisoning from this place …and after reading a few reviews, I see I’m not the only one who has had this experience from this place. Save your money go somewhere else.

Their burgers are awesome and it has many options! We dined in and food didn’t take too long to come. I ordered a beyond patty and when my order arrived, it came a regular patty. I told the server and she promptly switched my plate and gave us an extra salad at no cost. The milkshakes were superb! I recommend the nutella one, for sure! So good :)

My first time eating here and it was so yummy. Food was delicious and so fresh. The staff is also so kind and outgoing. I especially appreciate Alessandra !! She was so sweet and so fun it made my order 10x better. Talking to her brighten my day. Love it here !!!

Today is valentines day, the day to eat nom noms with your fav human. We ordered wagu beef, added carmalizrd onion, arugalla on white bun was really good. Also got a 3 onion ring with sautea mushrooms with BBQ sauce. I must say I didn't taste BBQ sauce so they may have only put a sprinkle or none (I never looked) it was so good tho. The sauce not too bad size either.the big tot is actually sooo good too

Really enjoyed my chicken burger (son of a beech) and side Greek salad. Only comment is that the signage on the bathrooms really promotes traditional and sexist gender norms that define women as caregivers, despite the fact that both washrooms have changing tables. Would be a really easy and minor fix to remove the family sign from the womens room, or also add one to the mens.

Really cool feel to the restaurant - good ambience, menu, niche serving methods (the water mugs, light bulbs for the salt-and-pepper, etc). Tried the Elk on the Beech burger and it was fantastic, definitely one of the strongest burgers in terms of flavor compared to other burger joints. The spicy chips thing was probably my favourite side (compared to the regular fries, sweet potato fries or poutine), so I definitely recommend those. Some of us were vegetarian and they have TONS of options for vegetarians which was a very pleasant surprise. Highly recommended!

The burger i had was very dry and did not taste good. The poutine was horrible with melted cheese and not cheese curds. Nothing great bout the fries either. So many better places for a good burger. Definitely not a gourmet burger.

Seriously! The works in downtown is one the best burger places in Toronto! I haven’t been here for once or twice! I’m writing this review after so many visits and I can assure you that this place wouldn’t disappoint you at all. Every time we tried different burgers and they are all unique yet very good! Despite the great experience we had every time, tonight our dining was above and beyond just because Abbey was our server! She did all her best to provide the best care possible and I can tell she did it really well! Thank you the works and keep up the good work!

Went here for a quick bite and really loved the food. The staff was friendly and prof. We ordered Onion Rings, Fries. and a burger with veg patty. I love their hot as hell sauce along

Best place to taste a poutine around toronto, a very good staff and also a good environment 👌 It's a place that I will visit again when I come back to canada, certainly

Ok - you ever been to a movie and you feel like walking out .... but you are glad you stayed till the end? If so, you'll get where I am going with this Review.<br/>My bro-in-law lives in Burlington and has gone to The Works there a few times. On his "we have to go there" recommendation before the Jays game - we stopped by the downtown Toronto location; rooftop patio and all. <br/>Loooong wait for the food, waitress needed to be reminded to bring us our drinks and water, burgers over-cooked, and overall less than stellar service. So, when my wife realized I tipped the waitress 20% .... she felt she had to say something. Ok, in my defence, we are on holidays and I was in a good mood .... beautiful weather, going to a Jays game, rooftop patio .... which is no justification to my (sometimes outspoken) wife/:)<br/>It's what happened next that blows me away. My wife was a waitress herself and always looks for ways to help a waitress (and business) improve. She talked to the waitress herself. And then the Manager got involved and insisted she explain everything to him. He immediately insisted the entire bill be covered .... explaining that there have been issues at this (flagship/original) location and he had been brought in to help things get turned Wow! I live by the motto of - it's not the mistake, but what you do with it. We left with our bill covered, two copies of the Managers contact info and a "please give us another chance".<br/>I have to give The Works a lower Rating due to the mess ups, but upped the Rating on account of the classy way the Manager dealt with us. <br/>

Three Ring Binder burger included three onion rings which was just right for us in order to try their famous onion rings. The onion rings definitely were crispy and done really well. I liked the burger too. It was a solid satisfying burger patty and the gouda cheese and sautéed mushrooms especially made the overall burger a tasty one.

Awesome burgers, amazing service and the best soft rock music make the Works the ideal place to have a burger with or without a beer.<br/><br/>This place is so cool, has awesome decor, funny item names but the most extensive selection of burgers ever.<br/><br/>We shared the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon (lol) that has different types of bacon which all complimented the burger. The burger was grilled to perfection and the sides were pretty good.<br/><br/>Definitely one of the best burger joints in Downtown Toronto so do check this place out.

Great roof top patio with great service. Food - poutine was amazing. Very generous with their toppings. The burger was average. The menu is a bit overwhelming.. Too many selection! They have a kids menu and they loved their KD lunch! Milkshake was great, especially the oreo cookies flavour!

Was brought here with some co-workers. No room on the rooftop patio - so already kind of disappointed. But I heard the burgers were amazing. Let's just say.. sometimes too many options is not always the best option. I ordered the elk burger. It was okay - however it really did not wow me. A bit tasteless - fries were a bit flat. And when I got the bill back.. $30? what did I pay for? I wouldn't go back on my own. Maybe I got the wrong burger? but how do you choose when you have 1000 options in front of you.

First discovered The Works in London ON and just had to find one in Toronto. Since then I've come back numerous times. Love the whole atmosphere with the measuring cups and quirky menu item names. These burgers are definitely something you can't find at a fast food joint. There's so many options and you can put just about anything on your burger.

If you are burger enthusiasts like us, then you may have heard of The Works. With two locations in Toronto, (Bloor West and St. Lawrence Market) and 20+ restaurants across Ontario, they offer quality service and good tasting burgers. Their dine-in experience is unlike any other burger restaurant I’ve ever been to. With nearly 50+ burgers on the menu, there is simply a burger for everyone. It became that time of month again for us to do a #BurgerTour and we originally had two places in mind. We just happened to be downtown the day of so there wasn’t too much hesitation with which one we decided to go to. We decided upon the St. Lawrence Market location on a Tuesday right before the holiday break. Mark and I got Scott to tag along for this one, and as you'll see below, he wrote up a separate review too. It was late in the afternoon, so there wasn’t too big of a crowd dining at the time. We arrived after spending the majority of the day walking downtown and thought a burger joint might do us well this time of day. When we entered, the waitress kindly gave us an option of the seating available to us and suggested we take the window seat so we could observe the St. Lawrence crowd. I had no problem with this as we were going to be on display in a window, almost advertising The Works and their burgers for the public. It felt like we were test subjects trying these delicious burgers with the odd person staring at us every now and then. After receiving our menus, the three of us scan it until we decided on something that looked interesting to try. That’s the thing with this place: because there are countless options, you really have to narrow down exactly what you’re craving. Every burger I was looking at had obscure toppings and even stranger names. Who has ever heard of a Reese Peanut Butter Cup burger? Well, The Works has that!
Food In The City Toronto
To all the burger lovers out there – brace yourself for The WORKS Burger Bistro‘s latest menu offering that is running until March 27, 2016. “Patty Like A Rockstar” includes branch new burgers such as the Surf n Turf and Hazed & Confused featuring signature new patties.

The WORKS is an iconic restaurant that I've been enjoying since its humble roots in the Beechwood area of Ottawa. Now a multi-city operation, the Toronto-Wellington St location maintains the tradition of delicious burgers, shakes and fries. You will be delighted by the wide range of options for your burger, including a nice selection of buns as well as standard and exotic patties! The service is swift and there is always a fun promotion or two on the go! Check it out next time you are in the area!

These burgers are huge and taste juicy and delicious. The menu can be overwhelming at first, but there's something on it for everyone. I had the Lucy which was scrumptious and did not skimp on tomato and lettuce for topics. <br/><br/>I like that the fries are well-seasoned and that the drinks come in big measuring cups. <br/><br/>Definitely recommend for a good value cheat night.

This used to be my go-to place whenever I want either a burger, poutine or milkshake or all three. The food is okay to good. You just gotta find the burger to your liking. <br/><br/>The quality of their food and customer service at this particular location is going down the drain. <br/><br/>If you must visit this particular location, here is what I really thought.<br/><br/>I got sick from eating a Juicy Lucy. I recall asking to fully cook the burger because it was pink inside and the female server kept on saying the cook temps all burgers. Whatever it was, the grease or the pink meat or both. I could not digest it. <br/><br/>The Hipster Burger was tasty.<br/><br/>Babewatch was alright.<br/><br/>The Beverly Hills Lawsuit was an excellent breakfast burger because it got an egg inside. <br/><br/>Gotta be KD Burger was bland. I didn't like it.<br/><br/>First Date Burger, it tasted weird. Then I realized they forgot the garlic and it was bland without it.<br/><br/>Pony express burger was just weird with horseradish in the burger.<br/><br/>Son of a beech is great but I request for no feta cheese in mine. <br/><br/>They removed what I believe what was called, "Sweet Ride" Which had brie cheese and a grilled canned or jarred pear. That was my favourite burger and now it's gone. I would return to visit if they bring this particular burger back.

Seven different patty options and over 50 gourmet burger variations. Sound enticing? If so, The WORKS Gourmet Burger Bistro has you covered for the ultimate burger experience!<br/><br/>The WORKS is known for their creative topping combinations, which bring curiosity to one's palette in imagining what a burger topped with grilled pineapple, a sweet/spicy sauce and brie cheese would taste like. They call this one the ‘Crappy Tire’ (Canadian Tire dollars accepted). Or what about the Elk on a Beech? A lean elk patty topped with avocado, beech house sauce, sundried tomato and feta cheese. The variations are endless and if you can’t decide on one of the 50 combinations, you can opt out to be boring and create your own gourmet burger by picking one of the seven different patties (100% fresh Canadian beef, cheese stuffed beef, chicken breast, ground turkey, gourmet veggie, portobello mushroom, and lean domestic elk) and then adding your desired toppings.<br/><br/>Aside from the gourmet burgers, The WORKS features a full menu of appetizers, sandwiches, salads, shakes, alcohol and gluten-free options.<br/><br/>The WORKS is currently featuring their ‘Stuff’d’ menu, which surpasses their current selection of interesting toppings! The three limited time burgers are not only topped with toppings, but the insides are also stuff’d with them. These unique burger creations are for the ultimate foodie who is looking for variety and extreme flavour. If anyone can even finish their stuff’d burger, I bow down to your amazing eating abilities. The featured burgers this time around are: The Loaded Lucy, the Reese PBC, and the Burgeroni. <br/><br/>Here's what I tried: <br/><br/>The Tot Mess - potato tots, beer & bacon cheese sauce, caramelized onions, bacon bits, green onions and gravy for dipping <br/><br/>2001 Shake Odyssey - Caramel, Peanut Butter & Oreo Cookie <br/><br/>Tower-O-Rings - Crispy breaded onion rings with 2 dipping sauces <br/><br/>Loaded Lucy - Cheese stuffed into a beef patty and topped with bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and mayo <br/><br/>Reese PBC - Reese Peanut Butter Cups stuffed inside a beef patty and topped with crispy onion strings, bacon, and more Reese candy <br/><br/>I really enjoyed The Tot Mess because of the cheese sauce...Anything deep fried and covered in cheese is guaranteed deliciousness! <br/><br/>The Loaded Lucy was definitely fully loaded with regular burger toppings on the patty and melted cheese inside. It was really messy and heavy, but the gooey cheese inside was addictive. This is a good burger to share with someone.<br/><br/>The Reese PBC was ordered out of curiosity as I don’t think it is something that would interest me otherwise. It was definitely odd taking a bite out of a big juicy beef burger and having melted chocolate and PB seeping into my mouth. I didn't hate it, but I didn’t love it; it was just unusual, but I would suggest trying it out! <br/><br/>The Tower-O-Rings were some of the best I’ve had. Crispy and crunchy and served with two delicious dipping sauces. <br/><br/>I do regret not trying a burger off of their everyday menu, but I can always go back for that. The important thing is that The WORKS burgers are 100% AAA Canadian beef, hand-pressed daily and really tasty!<br/><br/>  <br/><br/>The WORKS has over 24 locations in Ontario, so if you happen to stumble across one and you've craving a burger, I definitely suggest you trying them out!

This is the 4th time we've come here in two trips to Toronto. Quite simply the best burgers I've had anywhere in the world. A bit pricey, but the servings are huge and sides are bottomless, not that we have ever asked for more. Gourmet ingredients like brie cheese, elk patties and so on also explain the price. Staff are genuinely friendly. Casual rock and roll vibe. Some quirky things like drinks are served in 500mL measuring jugs and the salt and pepper shakers are lightbulbs.
Omarr Khattab
Not a bad place if you're looking for a large variety of burger combinations. The price can be slightly in the high side depending on what you order but there are many reasonable options. The new elk on the beach burger is pretty tasty but elk is fairly lean which made the burger a little dry.

I love the WORKS franchise, but I gotta say I prefer the Bloor West location over this one.<br/><br/>Ambience and food quality is pretty much the same with all the restaurants. However, my service and food times were sub par to what I was expecting. It felt like the server didn't want to be there, much less serve us properly or kindly. The food times were awful since I got my burger before my appetizer showed up. The food was still good though.<br/><br/>I recommend the franchise, not this restaurant.
Srishti Gurwara
Really good food. I had the Man Cave with 100% Canadian beef which was really good but my friends three ringed burger was ravishingly delicious. The only reason I'm giving it a 3.0 is that their service is slow. So be prepared to wait and gather tons of tactics to get your servers attention without being rude

Went here a few days ago with some friends and I really loved it! I had the kamikaZe because I love love love spicy food.. I can't remember what my friends ordered, I think one got the skater boy - she said it was good and would order it again (it had peanut butter!!! On a burger!!) , my other friend ordered nacho libre or something like that basically a taco on a burger and then my other friend got juicy Lucy I think, everyone loves their food and the service was really great. They were super friendly and informative!

Not as good as it was before.<br/>Tasted this in Montreal and enjoyed it, the Toronto locations don't seem like the care to put the burgers together nicely. Had the chick n' waffles... Worst chick n' waffles I've tried. When it was brought to our table, the burger just toppled over and fell.<br/><br/>My cousin had the salad and it was just soggy. As if they made the salad first then made the burgers and it just sat there. Unless the lettuce wasn't fresh. <br/><br/>Would not recommend this place to anyone.

The first time I had the Works was at the Ottawa location where the burgers were amazing. This Toronto location gets a high mark simply because in my opinion they make the best milkshakes in Toronto.<br/><br/>The strawberry one kills! The burger and fries are good too, but I mainly go for the milkshakes.
Kassidy
Friendly staff. Fast service even during the lunch rush. Wonderful selection of interesting burger toppings. Make sure you go on an empty stomach. The milkshakes are very thick.

Foodies Inked
The WORKS is burger joint turned franchise that redefines what a true burger with “the works” on it really means. Offering over 30 burgers with all the “works” toppings you could ever dream of, The WORKS puts their money where they beef is by offering 100% Canadian hand-made fresh beef, that is flamed-grill to your liking. And if beef ain’t enough, their selection of chicken, elk, turkey or veggie burgers might just also hit the spot.<br/><br/>But before stepping into their world of burgers, I’d suggest you check out their hand scooped shakes. Made with real ice-cream and served on big and fun measuring glasses, so you never ran out of the good stuff.<br/><br/>Or just default to their appies and venture into the new Baconism II menu items. Like their Bacon-Wrapped Wrecking Balls, a succulent and mouth watering starter that is made with cheddar and potato, wrapped with juicy bacon and deep fried, then served with a roasted bacon garlic aioli for dipping pleasure.<br/><br/>Now onto their succulent burgers. Following the Baconism II tune, the Gettin’ Piggier With It WORKS new addition is their signature 8oz bacon and beef pattie, loaded up with Canadian bacon, cheddar cheese, smoked bacon, bacon ketchup and crunchy onion strings. Sorry, did I mention this burger had bacon in it?<br/><br/>Another favourite, and part of their top 10 favs, is The Hipster. Now, don’t confuse this for a white millennial  in an urban area. This burger stands on it’s own with Havarti cheese, avocado and caramelized onions. The beef pattie, avocado and onions are all covered and wrapped in the Havarti cheese, making this burger one of a kind in their menu.<br/><br/>Buen Provecho,<br/>Foodies Inked.

Thinking I might get a nice burger for a base price of $6 or $7, I come in here and discover an over-the-top concept place trying to parlay the poularity of an original Ottawa location into a big franchise operation. Everything's in your face, esp. the menu, but the staff are nice. No burgers under $11, so to keep it affordable I opt for plain poutine and a beer. The poutine is very ordinary, and the metal bucket it's served in doesn't distract from that. Water served in a pyrex measuring cup, you know, that kind of zaniness.<br/><br/>Anyway, if you just want a decent burger at a good price, I'd say go to the Big Smoke. But if you just got a big bonus and you want to impress your teenager and his/her friends, this could be just the place.

Good food, too small of a restaurant. More expensive than I would like to pay for this type of food but definitely no shortage if food.
Ana
Pretty average. The veggie burger I got ("lets go to the ex") with lots of cheese tasted a bit bland. Also despite being there when it wasn't too busy out took a while to go. Burger was nothing special.
George
Overpriced and Average. The food is very average with much better options available locally. The service was reasonable and friendly however the food quality is low and well overpriced.<br/><br/>$ 3.00 for a fountain pop are they serious. I have not paid that in 5 star restaurants. Best of all it was so loaded with ice that all you got was a watered down pop.<br/><br/>$ 7 for a kids poutine that had a couple of pieces of cheese on it. The fries were burnt and clumped together as they had been defrosted and re frozen and then fried again in oil that is not the right temperature so your fries are burnt on the outside while grainy in the inside. My son thought it was definitely the worst he has ever had.<br/><br/>$ 8 for a kids burger with processed cheese on it. <br/><br/>My burger which was supposed to have blue cheese and bacon, it had a hint of blue cheese on it. But just barely so. <br/><br/>Did I mention they forgot my kids Orange Fries (sweet fries) that came with the meal.<br/><br/>Worst Value for food in Toronto. The servers were friendly, helpful and polite however that did not make up for the food.<br/><br/>Food Value 2/10, Food Quality 3/10 and Service 8/10

Avoid the take-out. First, the good news: delicious burgers and ample portions. IF (and that's a big IF) you can get a table, sit and enjoy. This premium priced fare is good value for what you pay, except perhaps the bottled drinks. Jones Soda for $4 anyone? <br/><br/>Now for the bad: This location should either reconfigure its takeout area (Church street entrance) or get rid of it altogether to open more space to the main dining area. I'll concede that noonhour Friday is a busy time for downtown Toronto establishments but 24 minutes from placing the order to receiving my food is far too long. The waiting area is a bottleneck of other waiting take-out patrons, dining room clients stepping thru to washrooms and delivery guys bringing in supplies. <br/><br/>After a long and crowded wait I received the wrong food - check your order before you leave - but the staff cheerfully made it right. They're trying hard but they're not quite there yet.

While their regular menu includes gourmet burgers, wraps, salads, poutine, gluten free items, milkshakes and booze (yep, they’re licensed!), I heard from other bacon-lovers about their latest limited time Baconism menu. Let’s just say I was intrigued. - See more at: http://abbeyskitchen.com/blog/launch-works-gourmet-burger-bistro-toronto-makes-you-believe/#sthash.KJicyTZ7.dpuf

This place was packed during dinner time with line ups right out to the door. We went back a little later as we didn't want to wait in line. I love their accessories in here. They use measuring cup as a cup, light bulb as salt and pepper shaker and tin tray as plates. The menu was huge and with many many words. I never read so many words in one night, it was like reading a novel. There were so many different combination of burgers. Some with combinations that I have never ever thought of like peanut butter on a burger? After minutes of reading, we finally decided on getting the "Beach Boardwalk". It has crunchy onion ring, havarti, gouda and brie on a ground beef pattie. The beef pattie was cooked medium so it was very juicy. And on top with the three cheeses melted absorbing the onion ring, so yummy. We had a side of poutine with chunks of onion rings as well. The place is good for a gourmet burger but it is on a pricy side, the burgers starts off from $12 and comes with a side of sta

Toronto finally has The Works! I loved the one in London , so I was excited to try out the one near St. Lawrence Market: However, I found that they offered a great selection of burger meals, but the burgers weren't that amazing to justify the expensive price tag.

Cheri and I decided to spoil ourselves on our bike ride home, after our weekly beach volleyball. Cheri had previously checked this spot out with a coworker - randomly seeing it from the street. He was eager to bring me here ever since. APPEARANCE (bright, new, fresh, entertaining label) The Works is new to the St Lawrence area - taking over the corner of Wellington and Church, across from Toronto's flat-iron building. This area needed a more reasonably priced spot, which is not Pizza Pizza. A bit after we arrived, their brightly lit patio area became our top prize.  NOSE (citrusy, apple, honey) Entering, the main room was transparent - divided by low cubicles of fenced wire. The interior was put together in the chaos of walls from scrambled brick chunks, copper pipes everywhere, industrial lights and an imposing metal dimensional W, suspended by chains. Hip spot, part of the gourmet burger trend invasion, no doubt. We breezed through, following the hostess...

The Works Gourmet Burger opened up near my house awhile ago and I've been meaning to check it out for awhile. I've been obessed with Five Guys Burger and Holy Chuck for awhile so that's why it took me awhile to drop by. I dropped by for lunch on a weekday to find the restaurant almost full with financial crowd... They offered so many options for the burger itself that it took me awhile to make my decision. All of their burgers are made with 100% Canadian beef and they take pride in all the fresh ingredients that goes into their burger.

With over 50 gourmet burgers to choose from, I was really excited to finally check out The Works   ( @worksburger) . They first opened in 2001 in Ottawa and now has 30 locations, they have also won many awards, including Ottawa's best Burger for the past 13 years in a row. It's a full service gourmet burger restaurant unlike many other burger places in Toronto which is self served. All their burgers are made with fresh Canadian beef and hand press daily. Not into beef, there's 5 other patty option on top of the standard beef and cheese stuffed beef which include elk, chicken, veggies and mushroom. . Bacontella Shake ~ Everyone's favourite Nutella blended with smoked bacon and creamy Canadian Ice Cream topped with whipped cream & even more bacon This was the regular/medium size and the 2 of us couldn't even finished it since it's so thick and filling but be warned, it's super addictive. . Kamikaze Burger w/ side of Spicy Die-Cut Chips + Gravy ~ Jalapeno, chipotle & banana peppers, cheddar cheese & hotter than hell sauce  Although the description sounded really spicy, it was actually not that spicy and I somehow wish there was something extra to it... maybe the standard lettuce & tomato or even avocado maybe?! Although love the pickled peppers and the juicy patty, I wasn't a big fan of the combination and the excessive sauce.  But let's move on to the Spicy die-cut chips, it was the highlight of the meal for me and I can't stop eating them. Super thin slices of potato with crispy edge and soft center (yes it's possible even if it this thin) and even you don't see any peppers or "red" to indicate it was spicy, it does pack some kick to it. Plus the recommendation of gravy on the side by our waiter was spot on. Would come back just for them and I would be a happy girl (^_^)

As if 50 gourmet burgers weren't enough, The WORKS has introduced three new limited time only burgers. From October 20 through January 4, 2015, the gourmet burger bistro will be featuring "Cooking With Beer" burgers. Think root-beer BBQ glazed pulled pork, beer barbecue sauce, and beer-battered beef patty...

On my first day of work, I went to The Works for lunch with my coworker. They are located where Pizza Pizza used to be. I can't believe that the Pizza Pizza couldn't sustain there, or maybe The Works gave them lots of money for the location. We didn't have that much time, and was hoping this would be a quick option, since they had a take-out section. I ordered the Dead Ringer Burger - Smoked brisket, smokey BBQ sauce, jack cheese & an onion ring. I asked for the burger without the cheese. Now, the pictures looked really impressive on the menu, so when I got this burger, I was majorly disappointed. It was small. The patty didn't taste fresh. It just tasted like something I could have made. For this small burger, it cost me almost $10 and this is with no combo! I was sad, hungry, and disappointed with this experience. It has won numerous awards including Ottawa's best Burger for the past 13 years in a row, Kingston's / London's / Milton's Best Burger, and MacLean's Best Small & Medium Employers in Canada. The WORKS now has 25 locations across Ontario. <br/><br/>The WORKS is a full-service gourmet burger restaurant offering over 50 hand-prepared gourmet burgers, hand-cut fries, milkshakes and beer, which are all 100 per cent Canadian. Guests can choose from seven different patty options (beef, elk, chicken, turkey, veggie, cheese stuffed beef and mushroom cap) as well as gluten-free and vegetarian combinations. <br/><br/>A couple of starters before the beer burgers: <br/><br/>TOWER O-RINGS<br/>Comes with 2 dipsticks. Sweet and crispy coated onion rings...yep I would definitely order these again. I forgot what the dipping sauces were but they were just average - I much prefer the Moosehead beer cheddar dip (see below).<br/><br/>KNOTTY PRETZEL<br/>Three hot baked pretzels topped with sea salt and served with a Moosehead beer cheddar dip. These pretzels were soft and chewy, an ultimate comfort food / starter. The kickin' beer dip was fantastic because you can actually taste the beer! This appetizer is a limited time offer.<br/><br/>"Only at The WORKS can guests now have a beer, and eat it too," said Bruce Miller, chief marketing & development officer and co-owner at The WORKS. "It's a fun promotion that feaetures all of the ingredients that Canadians love best, in combinations that will never be found anywhere but The WORKS, but only for a limited time. Cheers!" <br/><br/>It's now time for burgers. Remember, all the burgers at The WORKS comes with your choice of patty, bun and side. <br/><br/>ROOT FOR MAH PIGGY <br/>Jones root beer BBQ-glazed pulled pork, onion strings, house-made root beer BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, toasted pretzel twist. I enjoyed the soft pulled pork, the crunchiness from the onion strings and the playful pretzel twist on this burger. I prefer a smokier BBQ sauce instead of the one here which was on the sweet side.<br/><br/>BARKING AT MY COW <br/>Smoked brisket, Barking Squirrel beer-braised onions, Jack cheese, bacon, Barking Squirrel beer BBQ sauce. This was my favourite burger out of the three beer burgers. I naturally gravitates toward food with caramelized onions and braised onions...mainly because it makes everything so moist and juicy. Along with the tender smoked brisket, Jack cheese and crispy bacon, this burger rocks.<br/><br/>BEER GOGGLES BURG <br/>Beer battered beef patty, Moosehead beer cheddar sauce, bacon, lettuce, tomato, red onions, pickles. This burger is no doubt very innovative, unique and out-of-the-box. My friend really enjoyed it whereas I thought it was good but not great. To be fair, I also had two burgers before this so as you can imagine, biting into a deep fried beef patty might not be the best idea. I do applaud the beer batter here though as it wasn't thick nor oily.<br/><br/>SWEET POTATO FRIES<br/>I'm really diggin' the sides at The WORKS. I couldn't stop eating these.<br/><br/>SPICY DIE-CUT CHIPS<br/>Nor could I stop eating these. I've never had anything like these chips. Super thin slices of potato with crispy edges and a soft centre...it's like a flat version of a perfect fry. <br/><br/>After the three feature beer burgers, I wanted to try a couple of burgers from The WORKS' regular menu: <br/><br/>GETTIN' PIGGY WITH IT<br/>Canadian back bacon, cheddar, smoked bacon, bacon ketchup, crunchy onion strings. Bring on the bacon, baby. And the peameal bacon? Very Canadiana, indeed.<br/><br/>JUICY LUCY <br/>Cheese stuffed 8oz beef burger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onions, mayo. If you're not one for extravagant burgers, I suggest you order the Juicy Lucy. It's a great basic burger done perfectly. The cheese stuffed patty was excellent.<br/><br/>THE NUTTY SHAKER <br/>Butter-toasted beer nuts and salted caramel blended with real ice cream. Also at The WORKS for a limited time only is this sweet and savoury milkshake. If you can spare any room after your burger I highly recommend you get this. A heads up: you need a spoon to drink eat this because it's that thick. Trust me.<br/><br/>*This meal was complimentary. The opinions and views expressed on this post are my own*

They have a huge selection of gourmet burgers; Malibu Meltdown, Son of a Beech, The Hipster, First Date & Beverly Hills Lawsuit are amazing. Also one of best restaurants to get milkshakes in my opinion. They're served in cool large measuring cups so the regular serving is pretty big. My personal fav is the Odyssey (caramel, peanut butter, oreo). This location has a neat upper floor patio with a look over Wellington St.!!
