As we headed back home we stopped at Bairrada Churrasqueira on St. Clair for dinner. Apparently this is one of four locations. This restaurant seats about 70 inside, and only a few tables were occupied when we arrived around 6:30, but more than half of the dining room was full when we left.
SWBMO picked the small portion of the Peito de Galinha (Chicken Breast). The marinated, grilled chicken was tender and tasty. It came with a simple side salad and rice. Even though it was the small size, it came with two small chicken breasts and a big serving of rice.
I chose the Salmon, which came with boiled potatoes and steamed veggies. The salmon has a nice char on both sides and was cooked evenly all the way through. Nicely seasoned, and a large portion. I’m not keen on simple boiled potatoes, but the veggies were pretty good.
We finished our meal with Natas (Portuguese custard tarts). Baked in house, they were fresh, warm, creamy inside, with a nice crust on top.
Service was polite and friendly.
Great chicken. We do take out a couple times per month, very good chicken,

If you are you looking for a casual, laid-back place for Portuguese food, then Bairrada is the place for you. The service is slow and a bit inattentive, but the food and backyard patio make it worthwhile. The portions are plentiful, yet your final bill will be slim.
