Expensive! I have been trying to find a new favorite Cantonese-style hot pot restaurant since my favourite, Dow's, closed own. This place was quite good and the best I've tried so far. But my search continues, because the service wasn't great and I found it quite expensive. You have to pay extra for the broth and drinks. I also didn't see lamb on their menu, which I love at hot pot. But I noticed that their menu is constantly changing, so maybe they've added it since I was last there.
I really liked the dips, and I loved their deep fried mantou buns with sweetened condensed milk. Their parsley, however, was not fresh nor flavourful. I also found their shrimp was good, and their meat balls / seafood balls were surprisingly not bad. The quail eggs were overcooked. I also liked that their meat was perfectly sliced.
Hot pot never appealed to me all that much, but this place is a game changer. I can't believe it took me this long to give this place a try, because I've been wanting to come here for some time now. First, decor is nice, very modern and sleek. The service is great! Friendly staff who are very attentive and water was always getting refilled. I loved that everyone gets their own hot pot, the food comes out super quickly and in a very clean fashion. They have spring rolls too which is awesome to give you a break from all the soup. The best part is they give you ice cream cones for dessert! Only wish they had other items like tendon
This was an old visit from 2015. My SO (significant other) had heard of this brand new hotpot restaurant called Morals Village in Markham and wanted to try it out. When she offered the chance, I did not disagree with her :). Normally, it was rare for us to do "all you can eat" style for dinner.
