So finally checked out the famous Salvatores that I've heard so much about, and though I wasn't disappointed, I wasn't blown away. Service is excellent, but it was a bit of a long wait for our appetizer ( had brushetta- could have used some red wine vinegar, or something more to oumph it up), as well as for our pizza's.
We had the meat lovers which I wouldn't recommend, and the other one was a vegetarian one (ricotta cheese,etc..) and it was much tastier.
Predominantly everything on their menu is vegetarian, the crust are thin, but good. But, if you are a meat lover, this is probably not your place to go.
I am not sure what pizza some of the reviewers below had, but I eaten at Salvatore's for over 10 years and I have been rarely disappointed. Sometimes the crust is softer than I like but, that happens once in a while. The cheese is outstanding, very high quality. The sauce is delicious, perfectly spiced. The toppings are alway yummy. They have one of the best pizza crusts I have ever eaten. The sandwiches are outstanding, the ham hero and meatball hero are truly incredible.
Get the meatball sub!!. For $10 you can go to Subway and get well, a regular boring sub, or you can can go to Salvatore's and get what will in all likelihood be the tastiest sandwich you will ever eat for the same price. You can't eat this thing standing up, your knees buckle! Homemade garlic bread, sliced homemade meatballs, tomato, olives and cheese cooked to perfection in the pizza oven.
Very authentic olive oil brushed thin crust pizzas.
Great pizza. Pleasant wait-staff
Just moved after living here.... Just moved after living in the Halifax, NS, area for 5 years. Had to decide what my last meal would be. Easy decision, my old faithful: tonno (tuna) pizza. Like so many of their interesting choices it is the best pizza and crust... anywhere. It has served me well after hard bike rides, long drives (including during my move away), and just cuz. So many fantastic options and always a friendly and helpful staff. Buddy with the green hair - you know me well! Tks for the great memories!
Best pizza I ever ate! Whenever I'm in Halifax it is mandatory that I eat here.
Must stop for Pizza when in Halifax. The Rodger is my fave, but I'm biased as a vegetarian. Friendly staff and some of the best made-from-scratch pizza you can find in Halifax.
First visit. After seeing the calm pie marinato on You Gotta Eat Here, well I had to eat here. It was unique and terrific. The calms were flavourful and strongly supported by citrus lemon. It was a pleasure. The wait was a bit long but the staff was friendly. 85%
Best pizza in the city. Very fresh and popular. Great pizza. Not sure how well it would fare for take-out due to thin crust and light style of pizza getting cold fast but great pizza if you eat in.
Salvatore's was our first stop in Halifax and we couldn't be happier with the food, service and atmosphere. The smell of the pizza excites you from blocks away. The staff were friendly and attentive and everything we had tasted great including our dessert, the peanut butter banana cheesecake and a decaf coffee. My favorite: garlic bread and tomato soup (I'm basic!).
Very friendly servers and high quality pizza. They were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. They also have great vegan options (including vegan cheeses and sausage). Can't wait to come again!

Best Pizza in Town. It certainly lives up to its reputation. What you will find is not your normal pizzas but something totally different (I mean that in the best of ways).
From the choice of crust, to the cheese and even the toppings; everything shows that real thought and care has been put to curate such a menu.
Special mention to their Triple Chocolate Cheesecake. Loved it.
Really good service as well.
If you’re dining in: They’re quite busy most of the time so do expect some wait to find a spot.
Incredible pizza for a reasonable price! Servers were very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere inside is wonderful as well. If you're in Halifax, you gotta stop here.
I liked it so much a bought a pie to bring to my wife. Halifax has some great pizza here, try it out.
Went into Salvatores off a hop on hop off tour looking for alittle lunch, being originally for NYC now from Roanoke Va was a bit skeptical but WOW i was thoroughly impressed! They brought out what we call a Sicilian or squares that was just Fantastic, another couple came in and asked what we had ordered the same and 2 regular slices they also looked good.the service was good and servers were personable and the wife and really loved Halifax,Also a good offering of craft beers . Thank you
Delicious as always. Can't go wrong with the original and my daughter had the special which she enjoyed. Best pizza in Halifax I think, especially if you like thin crust. Oh the FLAVOR!
This is one of the places that you experience for the first time and end up revisiting every time you can. Great pizza/ heroes and the cheesecake is phenomenal no matter the flavour.
Service is good as well, but be ready to wait a little bit as it does get busy inside.
Truly outstanding and a wonderful surprise. Found this place totally by accident when looking for cheesecake or cannoli for Valentine's Day. Had #5 pizza on the right side of the menu, and WOW was it good!! Even the salad was made with care, the croutons melted in your mouth, I had nothing like that before. The cheesecake was rich and immensely satisfying. A team of really nice people served us, and a shoutout to the super friendly guy for giving us a bit of history of the place and things to taste. Very, very well done, I am thoroughly impressed, you all did an excellent job and made the perfect night for us. Thank you!
Solid pie. Up there with Yeah Yeah's but more choices. Staff are awesome. Venue feels like it could use a freshen but the quality makes up for it. Also you can just buy their dough and DIY.
