If you love diners(which sadly seems to be a dying breed) this is the place to go. The interiors are well maintained and were really clean. The staff was super friendly too.
I ordered their Chicken Burger and both my friends got their Veggie Burger. I love a good Chicken Burger and this one was surely pretty good. Similar case with my friend’s Veggie Burgers. Nothing exceptional but did enough to make me come back again someday. I will mention the fries seemed a bit too oily then your usual restaurant ones.
It is a comfortable spot with good pricing, decent food and most importantly a vibe even some restaurants cannot replicate.
Another excellent pub for locals my age (45-60). Been around for decades because it's excellent! Cold brews, hot wings, sports on the screens, and best of all... outstanding local servers!
Nice spot to eat in Halifax. Right off the main drag on Lady Hammond, Nice out of the way spot.
Went early in the afternoon and the place was dead, so my food and service was amazing ! I was the only one there. It was about 11 am. However, after I ate, the place started packing for lunch. There was 7 tables filled with couples. So they do well.
Atmosphere was ok, was hoping for better window views of down into the Harbour. Nice decor and seating.
Hard to judge food and service as opposed to when you typically go during an average night. I will just say food and service was good to me !
An appropriate spot for lunch during a very quick 30-hour trip in and out of Halifax. I spent much of my early adult life at this wonderful neighbourhood pub. The food is always perfect...staff always welcoming. The Western Sandwich was recommended by a friend...I was NOT disappointed.
Ample parking and good portions.
They need more variety and flexibility to accommodate different diets.
Maybe also more beer options.
The last of this class of establishments. Mic Mac Tavern, Midtown Tavern, Resolutes, Charlies Pub ... and Jenny's. Say them all with the same breath. Cheap beer, great pub grub, excellent staff. Watch the game, shoot some darts. Never buy the fries, always buy the roasties. Jenny's burger is solid.
Jenny's is a staple in the North end for good reason. While it's somewhat similar to a dive, the food is great, the place is spotless, and the drinks flow well. They often host local acoustic musicians & DJs for pub tunes, and offer a well-attended video gambling room. The servers are friendly and welcoming to all, and though there have been reported of racial issues in the past, I've been going regularly with my mixed friends and family, and have encountered no problems. This well-loved neighborhood pub serves its community & does it well. The chicken burger is among the best there is, and breakfast is also recommended.
Jenny's. I've been meaning to go here my whole life. I've driven by so many times as I'm sure you have. It was mid-morning and I was getting my car repaired so I decided to walk over and have some breakfast. Standard eggs over easy. It hit the spot and the coffee was okay. The place was pretty empty at this point of the day. It's quite a big establishment. I was able to sit in a booth at the front by the big windows which was nice. Breakfast was a reasonable price but there's an odd $0.50 surcharge if you use debit. Friendly attentive staff. Maybe I'll have dinner here sometime.
A fabulous local bar, great breakfast and wonderful and friendly staff. A must visit!
Great place for the team to meet up for a beer! Good service and huge portions! Had a great time and will be back!
