Love this place! The food is amazing! I've suggested this spot to many friends and family, and all rave about it. The food is uber fresh, and interesting - you can tell when a chef really cares about what they're producing, and it shows. Whether in-restaurant, or delivery - I highly recommend it!
Fresh and delicious food. Possibly the best Chinese food I've had in Halifax. The Won Ton soup and Ginger Beef, in particular, are divine. The vegetables are crisp and bright, and the meats and seafood are delectable and paired with perfectly complementary sauces. The staff is friendly and welcoming. This is a welcome addition to Rockingham that I recommend to everyone seeking great value, a relaxed atmosphere, and a mouth-watering, top quality meal.
What an absolute treasure we have hidden away in Bedford. Authentic (not I repeat not Canadian) Chinese cuisine. These are generational learned recipes passed down. My tastebuds were in love. I will be a regular. 10/10

Grabbed some takeout from this place last night and it is probably my new favourite Chinese restaurant. The sweet n sour chicken is so delicious; the egg rolls are for sure the best I’ve ever had; and the Lion’s Head meatballs are ginormous and very tasty. The lady who answered the phone when I called to ask questions, (and then brought me my order when I arrived), was very pleasant, professional and helpful. I will be adding this place to my regular takeout rotation.

We were back for another amazing meal this weekend at The Orient. It’s my girlfriend’s favourite restaurant so I took her out for a birthday dinner and we were once again very impressed by how delicious everything is. The prices have gone up since our last visit but for a special occasion I still feel it is worth the cost. We tried a few new dishes like the Green Beans and the Chilli Chicken and of course we got a few egg rolls that are by far the best we’ve ever had. The Yang Chow rice and the Lions Head meatballs are some of our other favourite offerings. The total came to $155.25 after tax and before the tip so although it’s rather expensive, it was delicious and we had enough to take some home for breakfast! Can’t wait to go back for another amazing meal. ❤️

Absolutely fantastic experience at Orient Chinese Cuisine in Halifax, Nova Scotia! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm hospitality. Best place to have Peking duck within NS! My boyfriend isn’t a soup person but he loves the duck soup. Bamboo boots in the duck stir fry make the flavour so fresh! Love love it! Customer service is also amazing. There was another family with two little kids, waitress was very patient to the kids :)

The flavors were strong and the dishes reminded me a lot of home cooked meals from my mom and provided a sense of comfort.
Not your typical "Canadian Chinese" food, you can tell the dishes are made proper with the right spices and flavors and not deep fried and battered like most Chinese food places.
The menu seems to be a sharing menu based on the items we got, but if you have a big appetite, you won't be disappointed.
Chef Ivan has definitely outdone Chinese cuisine here in HRM!
The outside of the restaurant does give you that sense of "hole in the wall" , however when you go inside, the cleanliness is unreal! So don't be taken back by the look of the outside, because the inside is a way different feeling and you can tell the owners take great pride in ensuring the restaurant is clean and comfortable.
Highly recommend, won't be our last time going there that's for sure!!

This is our favourite Chinese restaurant in Halifax. We always come here when we’re in town. The lobster dishes are amazing! Make sure you order them ahead of time since Chef Ivan gets them straight from the fisherman himself. Don’t miss out on this place.
Authentic food! Service was good and welcoming. The chief chatted with us for a while. I loved the food is not as sweet as other places in NS. Price is higher than other Chinese restaurants for sure but we can tell the difference.

Fresh ingredients, perfectly prepared, as you would expect from their renowned chef, who made a point to visit our table to make sure everything was correct. The eggplant in black bean sauce with mixed veggies was a highlight.
A restaurant located on Bedford Highway specializing in Cantonese and Canadian Chinese dishes. The Xmas/NYE feast was a great value for money, with 7 different dishes and a soup. The food also came in compostable containers which is much more environmentally friendly than the styrofoam containers that many restaurants use. The taste of the dishes felt more catered towards the Canadian Chinese food with some food being more bland than usual (salt pepper squid) and some being way too flavourful (the pepper in the pepper beef). Overall, good quality food and excellent presentation.
