This is a little microbrewery that we never expected to survive its location, and yet it did. This is a testament to its craft beer selection.
They have both indoor and outdoor seating with a nice (covered during winter) dog friendly patio where you watch life go by in Market Square (Including events like Francophone Day, bands in the square, etc). There is no food in the establishment, but they occasionally have an oyster bar cart vendor drop by and offer his wares. They also dent mind you bringing in your own food so its great to pair with a place like L'Authentique.
Some of the beers have become regular, while others are seasonal, or new experimentations. One of my favorites is the Sea Salt Gose, available in season in 1L cans, or as a single or part of a flight.
I’ve been here at least a couple times per month for the last four years. I love the beers, the service, the snacks and the patio. Quiz night is a blast. A downtown Victoria beer trip is not complete without Whistle Buoy.

They basically do not have many food or snack options but they let you to bring in your own food which is also great.
It is a must-visit place on the Victoria map, a small brewery with excellent beer, so we couldn't do without buying something for later to give to our friends on the other side of the ocean.
Atmosphere, service, and large pours for flights were all positives for our visit on a rainy day in Victoria. The husband tried a few of the beers in a 4-flight and was surprised to find the gose was more sour than the "sour" on tap. Favorite of the flight was the Stouty McStout Face. I enjoyed an N/A beer by Nonny, but wish they had more N/A flavors available beyond the pilsner.
Yummy beverages to quench thirst on a hot walk around town.
I had the pale ale, I normally enjoy ambers and lagers, but this was a great substitute.
Lots of outdoor seating. My husband enjoyed the beer. Flight of four beers is $12; five is $15. Nice spot to sit and people watch. There are umbrellas if you like shade.
A great brewbar in the middle of Market Square.
Good selection of tasty beers. They also got a shop with merch and beers to go.
Great outdoor patio. Had a glass of the Sunny B Berliner Weisse and it was so light and flavorful. Definitely hit the spot when the sun started peeking through the clouds
Nice outdoor seating and friendly staff. All of the beers were 8/10 which is pretty impressive! Had games inside and really nice atmosphere.
