I have searching Victoria for a takeout place to get a bagel with lox and this place hit it out of the park. The price is reasonable for the portion side and the food quality is top tier. I believe that the food is absolutely worth working around their limited hours. I have officially found my new takeout lunch spot.

What a great little place! It's inside the Jewish Community Centre so don't expect a restaurant. Reminds me of a tiny town in Ontario I lived in where the Community Hall would have bake sales and all sorts of other events. Super cute. Will be back for another sandwich and to try the soup! 😋
Volunteer run place. Super nice people. Excellent service. Really liked the coffee. Chocolate cake was amazing - no ice cream necessary. Will definitely return
Matzo Ball soup was great, and the homemade bread that came with it was also delicious! Very friendly & helpful volunteer staff.
So delicious! The people were so nice and the food was so good. I had the hotdog with onions and an order of the latkes and they were both phenomenal. I will be coming back another time for the matzoh ball soup.
Lived nearby for years, never went in. That's years of sandwiches and soup I missed out on. Don't be like me. Fast service too, so if you're looking at the line for Fujiya next door and getting hungry, pop over and grab from the deli. You won't regret it.
We are tourists happening along this eatery almost by chance...found it on the internet. For lunch only...All volunteer servers/cooks, but made with love and care, "authentic" meat/dairy Jewish (ashkenazi) deli food. Chicken soup with Matzah balls that are, as advertised , light and fluffy. Cheese blintzes (cheese crepes) are wonderful with dollops of sour cream and blueberry capote. As good as my mother's. ..better than my bubbie's . Pastrami was non-fatty and delicious...had to take home the coleslaw...too full. Lots (or lox) of other menu choices.
Ample parking outside and a large expanse of dining hall space inside...So come, eat..eat... fresse, fresse...what can be bad? Very comfortable and warm.
